  1. @DaveLo07 Well I invested countless hours in the original Dead Ops Arcade on BO1 over 2 profiles. Used to co-op it a lot with this Irish guy I was playing with back in the BO1 days. Eventually got bored with it though and that is probably why I can't get into DOA2. It's just not different enough from the original. They have added some really cool features in though but the core game is still just the same and although it was extremely addictive the first few days I played it the novelty wore off quick and I just couldn't find the passion that I had for the original.

     

    That being said, if you have never or sparingly played the original then this is awesome fun and I would highly recommend it to all. I might give it another go at some stage though. It's looking even more likely now that we will only be getting the 6 maps with BO3 and if Infinity Wards take on zombies flops then I will probably try giving DOA2 a decent go again. Then again, I will probably be immersed in custom zombies to be honest.

  2. I haven't really invested the time I should have into DOA2 to be honest. I mean, I absolutely loved the first one what with me being 36 years old and having been gaming since the very early 80's so I was brought up on games like that, (Commando, Smash TV, Ikari Warriors, Alien Breed etc) and I love the twin stick genre but I just couldn't get into DOA2 the same way as I did in BO1. Maybe it was the fact that aside from the 1st person power up the game hadn't really changed much. The maps are a little bigger and there is new weapons and stuff but I kinda feel like they could have tried something different retro wise like a side scrolling beat-em-up in the mold of Final Fight/Streets of Rage.

     

    There is a set of mod tools called OpenBOR (Beats of Rage) where it was made with the purpose of allowing people to make custom side scrolling beat-em-ups in the fashion of Streets of Rage. Someone decided to make a Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 side scroller called Crisis Evil (& CE 2).

    It would have been nice to see them try a different approach similar to this one or even something different maybe altogether but after playing the first one frequently back in the BO1 days  would have loved to have seen something a bit more innovative. The 1st person view mode wore off pretty thin for me. Maybe a full on 1st person view option would have made it more fun but either way there is nothing wrong with the game-mode, it's just not different enough from the first to keep me as entertained anymore unfortunately.

  3. I never played any Extinction map beyond Point of Contact and that was enough for me. It was fun but lacked longevity for me personally. I did invest in all 4 Exo-Zombie maps though and although a lot of fun to play the game-mode in general was extremely flawed in many areas.

     

    If you own Advanced Warfare and are a big fan of zombies I would recommend buying the first map at least and give it a bash but if you don't already own the game then I would not recommend investing in it just to get the game-mode.

  4. I always build mines in the Church as I find camping in their to be easiest so far but I was trying a few camp spots over in the armour room and if I stuck with that then building the shield about Double Tap would probably be best. Might even work out better to camp the launch pad about Double Tap as you have the pad as an escape route, fast spawn in rate and the shield at hand. Not tried it out yet myself though but it does seem like it could be a good strat.

  5. Apparently the mod tools in there current state do not have any zombie content within them and it's just a very basic version available to the chosen modders right now. From what I have also heard the tools are much easier and less complex than the previous WaW ones so you could potentially see a lot more modders popping up now. Can only be a good thing in the long run.

    That's good to know it lasts the whole game. Will help me out on solo runs, unless they patch it over time but I will mess with it either way and see how it works out. Good tip! +1

  7. The only one that sounds appealing to me is the Secret Shopper gumball, and even then only if it works on the Wonder Weapon/Special weapon as it would be a good gobblegum for high round runs. Otherwise I probably wouldn't use it. The other ones are not really gumballs I would prioritize using to be honest as I mainly play solo and they all seem more co-op orientated.

     

    Heard there is no new perks in the map from the off-set. That is also a shame if true but I would not rule out the EE reward maybe being a new perk unlock. Doubt it but you never know.

  8. @DaveLo07 To be honest mate, I think you were asking the wrong person. The support people know very little when it comes to this kind of stuff and his answers seemed very on the spot. I think Jason's answer of "It's NOT upgradable... in Shadows of Evil!" means we will most likely have to complete all the EE's on all main maps to charge the Summoning Key, and upon completion of charging the key we will be able to unlock a new feature on all the main maps. It makes sense that we could use it to get the upgraded Apothicon in my opinion and why it was in the files in the first place.

  9. I agree with @DaveLo07 that this really is a non issue. There is another studio involved so it does not affect current gen users in the slightest and is in fact a bonus for those still on previous gen. It would be different for a game like Destiny that is getting held back by previous gen versions but this is completely irrelevant to current gen owners.

     

    I have also seen a few Youtuber's make rant videos on the subject and it blows my mind. Why do they care? If they are stuck on old gen fair enough but none of them are so I guess it's just an excuse for them to follow the masses and make a video on the subject.

    The only 2 times I ever called the Civil Protector in solo games he killed me both times. Could have just been major bad luck but I have never and will never use the CP again because of that so that is why I would have prefered them to just lower the spawn rate so I could deal with them in my own way rather than having to rely on what I consider to be broken game mechanics.

     

    The Panzers spawn rate in Der Eisendrache is much better and in DE you don't feel like you are facing one every round. Also hearing that there could be another Margwa style boss in the next map and if that is the case I hope they make sure it's not as annoying or off putting as it can be in SoE. I would actually prefer they just stopped with the Cthulu theme. It was fine for one map but I don't want to fight squids and parasites in more than one map. They have very little to do with the storyline and lower the tone.

    It would have been more widely accepted if they just decreased the spawn rate of them. Having them spawn in every 2-3 round (bug rounds included) is the most off putting thing about that map and the reason I don't play it very often.

     

    Rather than just admit their mistake they instead add easier ways to kill them which is fine but they could have just rectified it properly. I would rather stick to my training spot in the subway than leave and call in the player slaughtering Civil Protector which I then have to hope I don't end up in his firing line or I die instead of the Margwa.

    It has already been confirmed that their game will be a new and innovative title so that to me rules out MW4 & Ghosts 2. People who claim to be in the know also say it will be neither. Besides, after the poor reaction towards MW3 & Ghosts I highly doubt they would go back down that route.

    Don't stress it man. They are just pointing out the obvious is all but they don't mean any disrespect. So many before you have said "guaranteed!" or "100%" and then it ends up being nothing. When I used to find what I thought were possible EE's on BO1/BO2 maps I got just as excited as you did. It's only natural but if you post it then you need to take it on the chin if you are wrong because the internet is not known for it's sympathy.

  15. There was snow falling on the X1 version at the beginning and it only seemed to change after the first title update so it has to be a glitch. There is NO WAY the X1 couldn't handle The Giant with snow effect so anyone on reddit who claims otherwise is very misinformed on the technical limitations of the hardware.

     

    Radiant is old. Very old and it has been known to have issues across platforms since WaW, which is down to a combination of the dated engine and poor programming. The poor programming can be proven by the lack of glitches found in Extinction and Exo-Zombies vs. 3arc Zombies but the engine is still at fault for some of these issues.

    I have tried doing the rituals in various orders, different rounds and while using various weapons and tacticals but I just cannot keep up with the trigger sounds due to my (expensive) headset deciding to stop working after just 3 months so have to rely on listening to the TV audio which sucks when you have a lot going on in game.

     

    Anyway, love reading what you and @83457 have been posting on this possible upgrade. You guys are really putting some work in here. Bravo gentlemen.

    Tried it all ready. Went to round 18 without doing a single ritual, got the WW and explored the map and nothing is doing. I literally got the WW without going into a single beast mode and it makes no difference unfortunately.

    The giant worm will only spawn when 4 players are in the game. It will not work with 2 or 3 players. The last step technically requires 4 players though it can be completed with just 3.

    Yes but at the end of the day you are fighting a losing battle trying to convince anyone to adopt the real name for them, especially 2 months after the map dropped. It's like the bugs. I hear people calling them bugs, parasites and even flying monkeys!?! but I am sure they have a legitimate name.

     

    The community doesn't care though, they will call them what they want and if you come in and demand someone edits their post to suit you over everyone else then it comes off a little condescending. I don't mean that disrespectful though, just saying it's a bit late to be trying to force the name onto people is all.
