  1. Hello, and hello. This is my first thread, and I'd love to tell you about 1 Corinthians 15. so let me start off by answering a totally reasonable question - WHY 1 CORINTHIANS 15? I mean there is Mark 1:15, Luke 1:15, Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 - TONS of 115's in the bible, why is Corinthians significant? Because it has a rather tasty passage about "The Resurrection of the Dead" with some quotes that I find rather intruiging. here are some excerpts: 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. (NIV) 13 If the dead can't be brought back to life, then Christ hasn't come back to life. (GWT) 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! (NLT) 19 If Christ is our hope in this life only, we deserve more pity than any other people. (GWT) 20 But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. (NLT) 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. (NIV) 21 Since a man brought death, a man also brought life back from death. (GWT) 24 Then the end will come. Christ will hand over the kingdom to God the Father as he destroys every ruler, authority, and power. (GWT) 26 The last enemy to destroy is death. (NIV) CROSS REFERENCE - Revelation 20:13: "The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them..." 30 And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour. (NIV) CROSS REFERENCE - Romans 8:36: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 31 I die every day... (NIV) 31 I face death every day... (GWT) 33 Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character." (NIV) 33 Don't let anyone deceive you. Associating with bad people will ruin decent people. (GWT) 40 Heavenly bodies don't all have the same splendor, neither do earthly bodies. (GWT) 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon has another..., and the stars have still another kind of splendor. (GWT) 48 The people on earth are like the man who was made from the dust of the earth. The people in heaven are like the man who came from heaven. 49 As we have worn the likeness of the man who was made from the dust of the earth, we will also wear the likeness of the man who came from heaven. (GWT) 51 I'm telling you a mystery. Not all of us will die, but we will all be changed. (GWT) 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye... the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible. 3. hi there gentlemen. My name's Zach, my GT's Kingsly - you can call me what you like. I've been meaning to get to this introduction for awhile, but have been in the middle of a complicated move. Apologies about the lateness. I was shown this forum by FatedTitan, and have been enthralled in the topics ever since. About a year ago, I was posting in a different notable forum - but kind of gave up after it seemed more for finding players/glitches and less for theories. My first nazi zombies experience was back in college during WAW, but I didn't truly dig into the maps until Black Ops. It was just about killing zombies back then, seeing how far my friend & I could go - I knew nothing of any storyline, I had always assumed it was just "kill zombies" and that's it... nothing was related. Time went by and I learned how to run around the map rather then just camp. I started playing some other maps besides Kino. I was excited for Ascension, and one night my friend threw a gersch at some kind of sparking machine off the map, triggering the EE - and my life was changed forever. I had never fathomed such an intricate multi-narrative story hidden within a simple side game, and I knew I had to find out everything I could. That was a year and half ago, and upon finding this forum - I would love to respectfully contribute in any way I can. Thank you for this dedicated space, and I look forward to learning from/talking with all of you!
  4. I always heard the 3 rockets in the Ascension loading screen were filled with 115. I don't know about fueled by - but if they carried 115 before, could have done it again. Maxis does laugh pretty maniacally once those rockets hit.
  5. Treyarch understands that fan fiction is the best fiction. It's what keeps their fan community so strong. There are people who will never be able to grasp a multiple narrative storyline because it's super abstract and thus it becomes complicated/convoluted to them... but if you embrace the abstraction, then it's amazing how a simple premise ("there are zombies who were once nazis, shoot them") can turn into such a wild story. It's really the only game mode/DLC I obsess over - mostly because I love the ee's so much - and I think that's because of the community reaction that comes with an ee. It's nerding out at it's absolute best, and I love it.
  6. "a league of heroic (and occasionally eccentric) minds from a host of different fields, from different countries, in different industries, institutions, companies and universities - experts in biological research, genomics, astrophysics, global markets, risk analytics, immersive data visualization and skateboarding." - http://www.tacitus.com/ sounds like CODz to me.
  7. I'm sure you don't.If they did that then that would restrict a lot of customers. Plus they didn't promote it like that. You don't. You only have to be a Power Up member to get the Prestige Token. Ah yes, my friend must have been confused with this.
  8. I'm sure you don't.If they did that then that would restrict a lot of customers. Plus they didn't promote it like that. Word, thanks. My buddy had told me this (you need a membership), and it's why I've been holding out. Also for hardened/elite. I saw some kid tweet a developer asking if hardened/elite, though still unreleased/undated, will secure Nuketown 2025 and the dev said yes. Sooo I may hold out still, I know you can upgrade but I subtly don't trust GameStop for such important matters.
  9. Do you have to be a GameStop Power Up member to get the waves?
  10. So you're saying it was just copied from his 1928 flight simply because the pre flight checks were similiar? I'm not quite sure what you're getting at? If that's the case though just remember that ALL pre flight checks would be the same or very similiar. That's the whole reason they do the checks and check off all the same things everytime. I don't know, perhaps I'm not understanding what you're trying to say? also so pretty blatant plagiarism there... also needless to say that a plane flight over the North Pole at any time in February would only result in total darkness, as it is dark 24 hours a day for several months (one of the months being February). This whole world is filled with plaigirsim my friend. Hell you know how many times the plot of Romeo and Juliet has been used in movies? Two people from battling group fall in love. Yeah, that's only happened a 1000 times . But people don't just say, this is plaigirism. I think this to be just as much a coincidence as plaigirism. I see a striking similarity between the two passages yes, especially with some of the choice words, but beyond that it just sounds like their explaining a similiar situatuion. Whether you see it as plaigirism or similiar ideas is really up to the reader. Perhaps it is plaigirism. But that's beyond the point. The point you're trying to make is that the "secret diary" is fictional. My question for you is, so what? Treyarch has based the story of Zombies, to an extent, on the Vril Ya. An ancient civilization discussed in the FICTIONAL book The Coming Race. They have no problem basing the story of zombies around fictional stories. In fact, Treyarch probably prefers these fictional stories that seem true so they have room to add their own ideas or concepts, while still having a somewhat "reliable" source. I don't believe Byrd's "secret flight" really happened, but in the world of Zombies, it did. b. the beings are tall and blond in the Secret Diary, the zombies in the map shangri la are normal height and have dark hair... [ Image ] I feel like I'm nit picking, but for real this is a well put together thread, and I'm not opposed to the idea of Treyarch following some aspects of Byrd v COTD x Shangri La - but I just don't think this is what Jimmy Zielinski was getting at. I don't think that these beings Byrd allegedly met were/are the inhabitants of the BO map Shangri La, and I don't think just because Byrd saw a mountain range that it automatically makes it the "Shangri La Mountains" Jimmy was talking about. That's my point, I believe Treyarch is using parts of Byrd's stories to base the story of zombies. Some things they add on their own to better suit the maps: Russian symbols on Subs, Asain zombies in SL. It just seems like too much of a coincidence that Byrd's stories relate so much to things happening in zombies. I'd also just like to add that theorizing isn't easy. It takes alot of time and research. The best we can do is provide members with a theory, using as many sources of evidence to make the theory seem more and more plausible. The best we can do is defend our ideas with as much supporting evidence as possible. It's much easier to tear apart someone else's theory than to create one of your own. That being said, I'd just like to thank you for taking the time to read the thread and discuss it with me. There's nothing worse for a Theorist to write a thread just to have no one read it or discuss it. [brains] Oh man I love these theories, and honestly I think this one is more plausible then the Mars theory - no doubt whatsoever. I hope it didn't seem like I was tearing it apart, I just wanted to relay that the specific secret diary you were referencing may not be the best source. (and when I say source, I mean in the fictional realm of zombie-lore, meaning that even as a fictional work it's not accurate to the theory because it wasn't written by Byrd - discrediting the link you say between zombies and Byrd in this specific instance.) Does that make sense? Basically, this specific diary is a hoax - and even though technically it's all fake (because it's fictional) this is diary a fake fake (not in the double negative way, like it's fake because it's fiction and then it's fake because it's not even by Byrd) With the first part where you were confused about the 1928 quote, I was showing an example of Byrd's earlier writing to compare with the alleged secret diary writing. The two are night and day, as you can see that Byrd is a scholarly man who writes in full sentences - lest we want to argue that he was really jotting all this down while the plane did all this crazy stuff. With the "master" quote I think that the words are obviously telling of the fact that it could have been copied, but more so the context. Speaking with the Dali Lama, the master - it's easy to see how the writer of the alleged secret diary could have taken advantage of the quote by stealing it. Yeah I was trying to come off as my point being more so: I think the mountain range in the alleged account of Byrd's secret diary is not the mountain range Jimmy mentioned in his tweet. when it comes to zombies I fully understand that fiction, physics, and general know-how flies out the window to an extent... I JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT THE HECK JIMMY WANTS US TO KNOW.
  11. This is a very well thought out thread - it does seem likely that treyarch has taken some creative liberty with Admiral Byrd's adventures. However... I have to say that the odds are stacked against this theory and here's why: a. The "secret flight" of Admiral Byrd is a hoax. It wasn't written by Byrd, it's pretty much garbage to be perfectly honest. also so pretty blatant plagiarism there... also needless to say that a plane flight over the North Pole at any time in February would only result in total darkness, as it is dark 24 hours a day for several months (one of the months being February). b. the beings are tall and blond in the Secret Diary, the zombies in the map shangri la are normal height and have dark hair... I feel like I'm nit picking, but for real this is a well put together thread, and I'm not opposed to the idea of Treyarch following some aspects of Byrd v COTD x Shangri La - but I just don't think this is what Jimmy Zielinski was getting at. I don't think that these beings Byrd allegedly met were/are the inhabitants of the BO map Shangri La, and I don't think just because Byrd saw a mountain range that it automatically makes it the "Shangri La Mountains" Jimmy was talking about.
