Amidst the dark and eerie night
A choice to make – to run or fight?
      The undead horde approaches fast
Armed with weapons, till the very last
In Call of Duty: World at War - Zombies
The battle for survival never ceases
A test of skill, courage and wits
As waves of zombies just never quits
Blood-soaked grounds and a burning sky
The stakes are high, the danger nigh
But in this game, we rise above
To conquer the undead with brute, tough love
With finger on the trigger and heart in hand
We face the terror, and take a stand
For in this game, we live or die
With Call of Duty: World at War - Zombies, we must survive.

and later released worldwide on December 14, 2011.
The game features the same gameplay mechanics as its predecessor, with players fighting off waves of zombies as they try to survive for as long as possible. The game also includes a new storyline set in a Cold War-era Pentagon, with the characters from the original Zombies mode returning to fight off the undead.
The game allows for up to four players to play together via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and also includes a single-player mode with a new leaderboard system to track high scores.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – Zombies received mixed reviews upon release, with critics praising the game's addictive gameplay and multiplayer functionality, but criticizing the graphics and lack of content compared to the console versions of the game. Despite this, the game was a commercial success, with over a million downloads in its first week of release.

    • The physical edition of Baldur's Gate 3 is headed to Xbox Series X soon, but it's going to be an adventure spread out over four discs. Larian's director of publishing Michael Douse confirmed online that the studio almost managed to squeeze the adventure into three discs, but at the end of the day, it was 500MB over the three-disc limit. Larian could have cut some content from this physical release but decided to instead place it on a fourth disc. In current and last-gen console cycles, multiple-disc releases have been almost unheard of thanks to the vastly superior storage capacity of Blu-ray discs and improved compression technologies, with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's physical release being an exception to the physical media norm. Four discs is a lot, and it echoes the release of the first Baldur's Gate game, which launched on five CD-ROM discs back in 1998. As for the PC physical edition, there's no exact ETA yet for this version, but Douse did add that the console release of the deluxe version will come "slightly after" the PC launch and will likely be delayed to April. Baldur's Gate 3 recently passed an impressive milestone of 10 million players, although the developer also spoke out against toxic feedback being thrown at the studio because of recent updates disrupting unofficial mods for the game. Larian Studios founder and CEO Swen Vincke had some strong words about gaming subscription services recently, emphasizing why Baldur's Gate 3 hasn't appeared yet on PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass. Baldur's Gate 3 was GameSpot's game of the year for 2023 and also earned a coveted DICE game of the year award. View the full article
    • Digital Sun, the studio behind Moonlighter and The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story, has announced its city-building RTS, Cataclismo, is coming in July. Cataclismo was first revealed last year and was successfully crowdfunded via Kickstarter. It blends real-time strategy with tower defense. Set in a world devastated by an event known as the Cataclismo, you must rebuild. During the day, this means you’ll gather resources to construct fortresses brick-by-brick in a Lego-like fashion, along with placing soldiers and traps. Once night arrives, waves of monsters assault your stronghold, and you must repel them. The game boasts realistic physics simulations (e.g., your strongholds collapse in a realistic manner, including falling debris that can squash enemies), and you can upgrade your fortress with improved building elements, troops, and more. In addition to a 30-hour story-driven single-player campaign, Cataclismo features a creative mode, a wave-based survival mode, and a battle-focused skirmish mode.  Cataclismo launches on July 18 for PC, and has a free Steam demo available now.  View the full article
