Beware of the 6?

In Kino's starting room, right above the wall next to the teleporter says "Beware Of The 6". Now some people have told me it was just to warn you about the hell hounds, but why do they come on round 5, 6, or 7? I think it's a little more complicated than that. And also, in the next room, the pictures of our protagonists are hanging up, with a blank one. My opinion is that is Maxis, simply because we've never seen him before.

A commen belief is that the 6 is referring to the "nova 6 crawlers"

I personally believe that we have not met the 6 yet, and they will be coming soon

And that mystery painting is just that, a mystery. I believe it to be the ultimate evil ( the evil deity that all religions evil figures I.e Satan, The Aztec one ( Michantutli, I don't know the spelling), Hades, Osiris. But then there are many differant interpretations

I thing the 6 is referring to the huge creature that tramples across the roof of the building on Kino when you turn the power on.

No one is sure of what it is though... thats why it could be refered of as "6".
