  1. @Slade @InfestLithium

Are you boys updating the list with the Exo Zombies? :3 Even if it's just for this year, that'd be so cool !

If @Slade and I can grab some kick-ass images, we'll definitely work our magic. ;)

    *ahem*

I don't think we want to jump the gun on that one either. Let's make sure we don't get extinction'd ;)

Maybe its that Bill Paxton guy or whatever his name is. He could have thought something else would happen and it all goes wrong. A bit like a Richtofen character but not insane just knows more than he lets on.

Yeah I think it will be Paxton as well. All the other characters are grunt workers, but he's the only high up. Too bad Gideon is invincible to everything in the campaign, but dies within like 5 minutes of the zombie breakout... in a helicopter...

I don't think Paxton's character will be any more than a fatcat executive cashing in on the pain of others. Why would he attack his own company, let alone the building he is still occupying?

Definitely looks like shock to me.

  4. In the totally non-cliché conclusion to the Advanced Warfare campaign, we find our old father figure Johnathan Irons hanging from a building after a tussle during the sentinel attack. We then see him fall to his death in the most overdone Disney way possible.

I feel that it is safe to assume that there was not a comically placed trampoline waiting for Jono at the bottom. So trusting that Sledgehammer has not M. Night Shyamalan’d us, he was killed in action. Here is my question...Who picked up the reigns and released the manticore variant on to the world creating the “Zombies”. It’s possible that Irons created a fail-safe in the event of his death. Or hey maybe it’s just a little German girl stuck in a pyramid. I think based on this line we can assume that Atlas had loyalists. “What I’ve start won’t end with me. It’s bigger than me. And it’s certainly bigger than you.” I know you’re thinking “Boom, he means his ideology”. However, the impression I was given is that (1)He was not working alone and (2) He may be taking orders from a more ominous source. Bum bum bummmmm…

    What are your thoughts?

  5. This game looks like it is shaping up to be pretty decent. I know people think the Zombie genre is being done to death, but I can't get enough. This could also mean that there are big things on the horizon for Dead Island 2: California Advanture.

  6. Although to your point, it does junk up the new content queue. All extended stories could easily be merged into a single post and formatted using spoiler tabs. I don't recall the exact members id, but they were working on the Maxis saga. I took the ten separate threads and neatly merged them into one. So is it a rule? No. A courtesy? Yes.

  7. I mentioned 'kiddies', earlier. To avoid the incoming wave of slander, I'd like to clarify that I'm not judging anyone by age -- I'm judging by mindset. Maturity. Before the realities/responsibilities of adulthood arrived, Carbonfibah was (in my opinion) the gold standard for zombie research. He went to incredible lengths to analyze loading screens, handwritten notes, radios, etc -- and so did a multitude of others. From what I gathered, those members started losing interest mid-Black Ops. I saw less and less analysis, more and more 'easter egg quest' threads (which died down 3-5 days from release, as mentioned earlier).

I've preached left and right around the forums about how the WaW days of Easter Eggs and how the story was a lot more cryptic, dark and mysterious. And about halfway through the first Blops season, "Easter Eggs" weren't really easter eggs anymore. They were objectives.

I've heard this time and time again of the good old days and the degradation of the call of duty zombies community. In actuality that veteran members have the same mentality of a widow recollecting her beloved husband or a child recalling how great their old school was. In reality the husband was an asshole and the school was a broken down crack den. Take off your rose colored glasses and realize that cod hasn’t changed, your standards have. I’ve read most of the old content and with the exception of a few outliers most of it was subpar.  The majority of the current “adult” community were children when the game released, allowing continuous improvement on their methods. Admittedly the developers have jumped the shark, but the in-game analysis has not lost any of its drive.

  8. Long overdue, Craig has literally been the life blood of the site and is responsible for everything new and exciting you have seen in the last year. It's hard to believe it has been just a year since Craig and I were both members and he was having me try out some features he wanted to pitch to the staff. Glad to have him as a leader and friend. Love you, ya bald headed such and such.

There is no way of knowing whether zombies have the ability to taste, although their desire to eat humans is a given. However they choose to simply kill instead of consuming the players in-game, yet this is most likely because of their controller making use of them as weapons to eliminate specific individuals, suppressing their instincts. However, zombies do specifically prefer human flesh over that of animals, as they simply walk past the pig in the "Five" labs. Again this may be because they are effectively in "kill mode," but they still disregard animal life completely to the extent that we are aware.

This is an interesting point that I had never really thought of before. I did a quick review of all of the cinematic cutscenes. In the MotD cutscene you see the zombies lunge teeth first at the inmates, but you never actually see them consume. In the Origins intro it open on the zombie seemingly feasting on human remains, but again it show no more than the zombie quickly snapping the head off and some blood dripping from its mouth. So even in instances where we are (and take this with a grain of salt) not in control there is no indication that the undead a driven by an endless hunger.

  11. Yes it is a systemic error that occurs when switching between grief and Co Op and inviting players. I thought that the devs had patched this way back when Die Rise had released, but it looks like you stumbled upon a back door. It is not an intended feature in the game mode.
