  1. A new Storybook chapter is up! "Faithful Servant"

  2. Chapter 12 of Book 1, "Faithful Servant" is now on the site! I have also gone back and made slight changes to previous chapters. I recently realized the Wunderwaffe DG-2 did not have its first prototype created until 1942, so previous references to the DG-2 are changed to be about the first version of the project.
  3. It’s my first week back from break and things look bleak in my math class but we will see.
  4. A new Storybook chapter is up! "Expansion"

Not only is it a great joy to read you chapters, writing it down this detailed and chronological way also makes me actually look to the Storyline as logical, and understandable, instead of total Chaos. Love all your references to real life history, as usual, and the in-game references too. General Amsel, PaP'ed weapons and a D9-shared Verrückt? Wunderbar!

  5. New chapter for a new year! And plans for the future are still looking good. I hope this school year does not kill me. In the mean time... Book 1 Chapter 11: "Expansion" From the perspective of Doctor Maxis, we learn of Group 935's great integration into the Third Reich and expansion to new facilities around the world, from the perspective of Doctor Maxis. This one has a lot of fun little nods for the well-versed zombies, and real-life historians! Behind the Scenes: Originally, the next chapter was going to be "Funding", which was a chapter in the original Storybook that was grandfathered into the plans for the new Storybook with the timeline's help. But, my process for writing these chapters involves me thinking about the upcoming chapter for days trying to imagine how the entire chapter will play out, scene by scene, to best utilize the setting for world building, develop the characters, create interesting dialogue and interactions, and generally be entertaining while adhering to the canon. Will how ambitious it has gotten, I could not think of a good reason to keep the "Funding" chapter. The original was very lackluster, in my opinion. It was just Maxis telling Sophia to write a letter, and then there was a response to it to build the world a little. But I think this chapter accomplishes that, and much much more. So that is why the chapter was cut and its story woven into this one.
  6. So, since I've changed the fifth book in the series to be part of the main story, I've restructured the side bar a bit, and have decided to have a non-canon section for all of my old writings that I hid away after they were deemed non-canon by the release of the timeline. You can find the entirety of the old version of book 1, the incomplete first sixteen chapters of old book 2, and all seven chapters of "Whispers of Morg City". I plan on revisiting a lot of the the same writing from this work in the future when I get to that point. The storybook has become a much more complex project than I ever anticipated when I started years ago, and I hate to see all this writing go to waste. Someday I hope to re-integrate all of these stories back into the official book, but for now, enjoy them in all their non-canon, incomplete goodness!
  7. The man is not meant to be someone you know. The implication is he is an undercover Illuminati member who is there to watch Richtofen and make sure he doesn’t tell any secrets. The voices guided Edward to him and he knew that meant he was in the Illuminati. To send a message he did not want to be watched, Edward told him to report back with that message. And what part do you mean about Sophia? Edit: I see what part you mean, thanks!
  8. Well, it's not three or even two chapters, but here is Book 1 Chapter 10: Facade. It is a followup to Richtofen's return to Earth after the MTD experiments sent him to the Moon. I think this chapter is a neat little way to establish where I want Richtofen and Maxis' characters to go in this book and there's some neat little nods here and there if you look closely.
  9. Good news everyone! I have two new chapters for you all, and in Book 2 no less! Prologue: "Undone" Chapter 1: "Danke Schoen" I realize I promised three chapters by the end of the month, and I still may deliver on that, but as I was writing Danke Schoen, it panned out to be a very long chapter, much more like the length of a chapter in a real novel. It took about double the amount of work that would go into any other chapter, and hopefully that paid off in the end. I am curious though, after reading, do you guys prefer the shorter, more concise chapters like I have always done, or do you like the longer, more detailed ones like Danke Schoen? If not, I think the chapter could be split in two to go with other chapters going forward. And let me know of any continuity errors in these chapters or if you think I've gotten something wrong about the story. On one hand writing Book 2 without finishing Book 1 can be risky and sometimes difficult, but I feel it makes the book able to stand out more on its own rather than being tethered to the story before. My goal here is for this book to be a proper introduction into the world if you already have some knowledge of the storyline or have not read Book 1 in a while. So let me know if some element is confusing that I did not spot. Thanks, everyone!
  10. Awesome! I would love to have a physical version of my book, when I complete one that is... One of these days.
  11. So it's been a while, and with BO4 now in full swing, I want to take this opportunity to revive the project for those interested. I will update the OP with the new description as well. Link to the Storybook: https://www.callofdutyzombies.com/story/prologue-nacht (NOTE: Attack on the Pentagon is now non-canon and I will have to rewrite it a second time after what we've learned in Classified. If you do not know, the CoDz storybook is an undertaking to interpret the narrative of CoD zombies (The Aether Storyline) into a book format for a more linear experience, as to say the storyline is confusing for new players is an understatement. Also I think it will give an opportunity to see these beloved characters in a new light at the forefront of a story not always about shooting guns and killing zombies. For those already initiated, you may remember I just sort of stopped in the middle of rewriting Book 1 following the release of the timeline, and I never really kept anyone updated. I would like to apologize, and state that the project is not dead. The story is expanding all the time through the games as the community discover new secrets, and so it is a little daunting to keep up with. Not to mention real life and the struggles of school. So, here's the plan going forward. With Classified and Blood of the Dead blowing back open the storyline, I've given a lot of thought to how I want to structure the storybook to accommodate those maps as well as future maps in the Aether story, which are bound to happen. Now, I've heard leaked audio and kept up with the story developments of Blood and Classified. Without spoiling anything, I can kind of see the direction Craig and Blundell are going with this story, and I think it would be foolish of Treyarch and Activision to NOT end the Aether storyline with Black Ops 4, allowing the Chaos story to take its place in the future. With the pieces seeming to come together through Classified and Blood of the Dead, I am led to believe we will see some spectacular finale to tie everything back together and end the story. This is a good point for me to start structuring how I want to lay out each “Book” in the Storybook, and I will share that here. Book 1: Told from a variety of perspectives, Book 1 chronicles the exploitation of Element 115 by Group 935 during the Second World War, which ultimately lead to the chaos pervading the entire story. Book 1 introduces Doctor Edward Richtofen, his superior and rival Doctor Ludvig Maxis, as well as Maxis' daughter Samantha. It also shows the war and experiments taking place behind the curtain from the perspective of American spy Peter McCain, as well as soldiers across the front, “Tank” Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, and Takeo Masaki. Book 1 will see the rise and fall into madness of the brilliant Richtofen, as he sets a plan in motion that will alter time and space permenantly, and have him come to meet his three infamous test subjects for the first time. Book 2: Set back and desiring power, Edward Richtofen enlists the help of Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo to complete his plan to enter the Aether. Through all the blood and gore from legions of undead controlled by Samantha, the group, together known as Ultimis, finds themselves sent jumping through time in search of key components to Richtofen's plan. As we follow Ultimis, we see the ramifications of Richtofen's actions on the world during the era of the Cold War, where Group 935 scientists are used between the United States and Soviet Union in a technology race. The unholy experiments perpetuated by Group 935 and Samantha's influence create chaos in the modernizing world as major powers meet in order to keep the peace. Ultimis fights for Richtofen's agenda, only to find they have permenantly damaged the Earth and created a rift between dimensions. Book 3: Following Richtofen's entering of the Aether, the world in 2025 is plunged into chaos from the fallout of the missiles impacting major countries of the Earth. Broken Arrow, the organizational successor to Group 935 in the United States created during the Cold War, is in part responsible for the post-missile civilization's falling apart. Former agent of Broken Arrow, known only now as “Russman”, wanders America, his memories inconsistent from the 115 exposure. Along his travels he meets Samuel Stuhlinger, a disgraced reporter with former connections to a flesh-devouring cult. Utilizing Broken Arrow's technology and wary of zombies and other survivors, they travel in search of solace in Hell on Earth. Marlton Johnson, an engineer contracted to work with Broken Arrow, who has only survived through his intelligence and knack for technology, meets Abigail “Misty” Briarton, a farm girl who lost everything and searches for somewhere better. As the four would come together at a zombie-infested bus station, they would be known as Victis. The world has plunged into a war between those on the side of Ludvig Maxis, his voice now a part of technology across the globe, those listening to Edward Richtofen's voice in their head, and the undead. Caught in this conflict, Victis must choose a side and find purpose as the world literally crumbles beneath them. Book 4: When Edward Richtofen began to meddle with Element 115, he inadvertantly split the universe into several different multiverses, with elements of each travelling and passing through one another. One Dimension 63 was home to alternate versions of Group 935, Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, Nikolai, and Ludvig Maxis, now present during the first World War. Lost without her father, Samantha calls to the Ludvig of this dimension, enlisting his help as well as Richtofen and the three soldiers sent to capture him, in order to free her from the Aether. Together, Richtofen and his unconventional allies would become Primis, following Samantha's freedom, Richtofen would come to learn of his true importance to the state of the multiverse. Driven to put an end to the chaos ensnaring it, and to redeem the actions of his other selves, Richtofen comes together with the rest of Primis to collect their eternal souls and put an end to the reign of the Apothicons, an ancient evil responsible for Richtofen's corruption and the spread of Element 115 throughout the dimensions. Book 4 follows the cycle that Primis is trapped in, spanning throughout centuries and fractured timelines. Book 5: Stuck in an infinite loop, Primis Richtofen decides the only way to break this cycle and stop the evil truly perpetuating it is to betray a version of himself, and allow him to die. Moving forward, he allows the rest of Primis to view the Kronorium, and as Nikolai gazes on all the versions of the future and past they have been fighting through together, he now sees the multiverse as it truly is. Book 5 follows the culmination of every element from Books 1-4 as they come together to truly put an end to the evil that has allowed chaos the cloud every dimension. I'm hoping to have more chapters up when I have the time. My goal is to start small, and aim for 3 chapters in the month of November, and ramp up from there as I go on Winter Break. So be looking for that!
  12. Does anyone remember Nightmares? And how Deimos was the main antagonist, and we were so confused by the lack of connection to the zombies story. Could it have some connections with the Chaos storyline?

I really hope we don't have call back to that dumpster fire.

I really wish people would ask Jason the story behind the mode and what implications it had. Just a totally strange mode that doesn't really fit. It felt like a mod rather than a fleshed out game mode.

Yeah absolutely, you could tell there were very limited resources dedicated to it's development.

  13. Say hello to Chapter 9 of Book 1, Novus Ordo Seclorum: http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/story/book1ch9 This chapter is from the perspective of a little seen and little heard from character: Doctor Schuster. I really enjoyed fleshing out his personality some and showing Richtofen's downfall from an outside perspective. On that note, if you are a fan of my work and Richtofen's downfall, check out my thread on that subject here if you haven't already: http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/topic/185493-the-tragical-history-of-the-life-and-death-of-doctor-richtofen/?tab=comments#comment-1766150
  14. I should have been more specific, it isn’t scrapped, it is now chapter 28 on the side.
  15. So here is Chapter 8 of Book 1, after a long wait, "Paradise Lost"! An interesting chapter for sure. I also had to rearrange some chapters, because as it turns out the OSS wasn't even formed until 1942 so Schlaukopf didn't make a whole lot of sense where it was. Also, they dissolve and the CIA eventually forms in 1947, which is weird because Cornellius is referred to as a CIA handler in 1945 in the timeline. Probably a slip up on Treyarch's part. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the chapter! Also, to help myself keep track of the events going down in this storybook, since it has such a massive scope, I have created a personal timeline, which includes all of the original timeline Treyarch gave us, and I have added many, many events. It is not complete as I come up with more ideas, but if anyone would be interested in seeing it as it is right now I could upload it.
  16. Like the Jeb Brown story being based on the new song lyrics, the Frank Woods Vietnam story is based on the fairly innocuous poster found at Raven Software: And yes, if the timeline works out, this will be a prequel to the SOG mission, and might explain why Woods looks like, as Mason puts it, hammered shit. Also the 115 tattoo on his arm. The Buried town may very well be near Nevada, but will be described as being somewhere in the American midwest as they were mostly territories at the time. The nacht and verruckt chapters I only really had one planned, so I may do just that. Call of the Dead I have a bit more planned since the map is so big and there’s secrets to explore.
  17. Over the past week or so I have been adding to and adjusting the outline for book 1 and I should start going all in on chapters again soon hopefully. In the meantime, I wanted to share with you all every synopsis for every Tales from the Multiverse arc I have planned, including a new one based around that recently released full Pack-a-Punch jingle! They are as follows: Night of the Undead Four lone marines once serving under Sergeant Raines have crashed nearby a foggy, desolate airfield deep within Germany. Though the war is over, there is something within the fog still hunting them... Their mission to escort a spy into Group 935 has turned to a fight for survival in a concrete bunker against hordes of undead Nazis. They had driven them deep into the heart of the Reich. They thought they were dead. They were wrong. Extraction at the Asylum With their Corporal, "Tank" Dempsey, and their sergeant nowhere to be found, John "Banana" and Smokey must fight to survive the day in the hellish nightmare that is Verruckt, Group 935's asylum facility. They discover the real reason the asylum was abandoned, and attempt to make contact with the outside world as they fight through waves of undead, mangled and tortured in life and hungry for their flesh in death. Attack on the Pentagon Four of the world's most influential figures meet inside the Pentagon to discuss a peaceful end to a Cold War, but only find themselves fighting for their lives to survive a horror long-since thought to be gone. Join John F. Kennedy, Robert McNamara, Fidel Castro, and Richard Nixon as they uncover secrets about the source of this apocalypse, as well as secrets about each other. Trouble in Khe Sanh Years following the events of "Attack on the Pentagon", Sergeant Frank Woods and a team of America's most qualified Black Ops agents have united on a mission deep into the jungles of Vietnam where a plague is said to have wiped out an entire village of people. There Woods and his team uncover technologies beyond their comprehension and a whole new breed of enemy. Call of the Dead A story of four lone survivors, one forsaken crew, and a shipload of the undead. The bone-chilling tale inspired by legendary director George Romero! It's anchors away for brain-splattering action! The actors of George Romero's modern zombie thriller by the name of Call of the Dead, are thrust into a zombie story more real than they could have predicted. Danny Trejo, Sarah Michell Gellar, Robert Englund, and Michael Rooker fight to survive in the bitter cold of Siberia, traversing a wrecked ship from the second world war. Along the way, they are contacted by a mysterious group locked inside the secret facility hidden beneath an old lighthouse. Lost and confused, they follow the voices' instructions, and search for a way to save the director and pop-culture legend George Romero from his zombie mania! Don of the West Coast America is in crisis as Prohibition has inspired a plethora of crime on the streets of its most populated cities. Big game alcohol and prostitution kingpins like Salvatore DeLuca run these streets, instilling fear and respect from its law enforcement and civilians alike. San Francisco is Sal's home turf, and someday he hopes to pass it on to his own flesh and blood, his son. Under his wing are his constituents like Finn O'Leary, a loyal arm of Sal's mafia and a proprietor of his own brew of whiskey. Albert Arlington, the conniving, smart weasel in charge of Sal's money laundering and dirty finances. Not to mention Sal's most loyal member of the DeLuca crime family, Billy Handsome, a violent and brutal psychopath willing to do any depraved action in Sal's name. With criminals as experienced and powerful running San Francisco, who can stop them? Mob of the Dead Charged on accounts of murder, prostitution, money laundering, gambling, and the sale of alcohol, Sal DeLuca, Finn O'Leary, Albert Arlington, and Billy Handsome are sent to Alcatraz to live out their days. Not content to die on the Rock, however, they concoct a plan so bold it may just work. Spearheaded by Albert Arlington, the mobsters find themselves constructing a plane on the roof of the prison in an attempt to escape back to San Francisco. But without any memory, they have found themselves in a cycle of fighting, escaping, and dying in a metaphorical Hell; Alcatraz is filled to the brim with undead officers and prisoners set to devour the living. Unsure where to go next, the mobsters must unravel the mystery behind the nightmare and discover their true purpose in this cycle. Whispers of Morg City Contacted by the allusive Mr. Rapt, a young reporter is thrust on a journey into the mysterious and alluring Morg City, filled with night-life and a creeping air of mystery in equal parts. For a price, the reporter assists the old-timer in finding ancient artifacts lost in the war-torn Pacific Ocean, uncovering dirt of Morg City's finest and strangest, and transporting mysterious magical crates through the city. The longer he stays there, the more he realizes Morg City is shrouded in evil beyond his mortal understanding. Shadows of Evil Following the reporter's mysterious and untimely demise, Mr. Rapt set out to sabotage the careers of a few lost souls in Morg City; The eccentric, selfish dark magician Nero Blackstone, the underdog boxer and cheater Floyd Campbell, the man-murdering seductress Jessica Rose, and corrupt, loud mouth cop Jackie Vincent. Following their most heinous crimes, the four souls were transported into a warped, Lovecraftian version of Morg City, contacted by an ominous, beckoning voice from the deceitful figure known as the Shadow Man. They must uncover the secrets held within Morg City and follow the Shadow Man's demands if there is any hope of them escaping with their souls... Suffering of Honor On direct orders from the Emperor himself, Takeo Masaki sets out on a observatory mission at a Pacific Island occupied by Japan's Division 9. At this island facility, Takeo witnesses true horror and pain caused by Division 9's actions. Deeply disturbed, Takeo finds himself troubled and with a desire for justice against the dishonorable scientists meddling with nature on this island. Revenge of the Russian As the Germans have taken grip of Stalingrad, Group 935 has established a research base within the city to create more horrific methods of attack against the Soviets continuing to fight. After delivering a prototype Russian wonder weapon to an American spy, dedicated Russian soldier Viktor Reznov and his partner in the fight against Germany, Nikolai Belinski, are dug in deep within Stalingrad, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike against the German, General Lehmkuhl, who led the siege on the city and the bombing of Nikolai's home, where his wife lied peacefully in her bed. Reznov must persuade his drunk and forlorn ally to assist him in his mission for revenge. Ballad of Jeb Brown Elijah Dempsey, grandfather to the bad-ass American war hero "Tank" Dempsey, leads a mining team based in a small, old western town in the USA. Upon returning home one afternoon, he finds the place has been ransacked and his brother's Union army revolver, a sentimental memory of his brother's death at the battle of Gettysburg, has been stolen. Without any help from the Sheriff, Elijah imparts the help of the town's mad blacksmith, Jeb Brown, to track down the robber and recover the gun. Through his conversations, he learns of Jeb's troubled past and the true purpose of the rocks he's been mining. Armed with technology created through Jeb's genius and mysterious, unknown forces, Eli sets out to track down the robber and bring him swift justice. Hope you guys look forward to these, I know I do. If you have any ideas for others, please let me know! Some stories like Yuri and Gersch at Ascension will be incorporated into the main books as they pertain to those stories, but anything else, feel free to share ideas!
  18. All five chapters of Attack on the Pentagon are now posted on the storybook section of the site. Here is chapter 1: http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/story/fivech1

  19. Hey guys, I'm back with the updated and completed Attack on the Pentagon arc of Tales from the Multiverse. Here's Chapter 1. Chapters 2-5 are on the sidebar. I'm really happy with how this one turned out and it even has a little foreshadowing to another arc I want to do down the road. As always let me know your feedback and criticism. With this series I wanted to be really cheesy with the dialogue since the whole thing is kind of ridiculous. Like I know zombies is usually ridiculous, but "FIVE" and the characters in it are very inherently funny and goofy so that's the tone I went for.
  20. While I agree the reason they go to Ascension isn’t really solid, I want to try to stick to the canon as closely as possible, warts and all. But, I could always add a “Legends” section with all the old Book 2 material because it would be a shame to see it all go to waste as I have to rework almost everything. Trust me though, I have sone good new content planned to go with the new canon version. Also, about “Five”, I’m in the process of tweaking those chapters slightly to be posted again and finished this time.
  21. Thank you for the kind words. The teleport button on mobile has never really worked and I’m not sure why so I haven’t been updating chapter names lately. Update: Upon looking into it it was an error on my part, as the URL wasn't going to the correct location. It should be fixed now.
  22. Chapter 3: "Shlaukopf" of Book 1 is now on the site! Hope you enjoy!

    http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/story/book1ch3

  23. Hello, everyone! I'm back with a new chapter in Book 1. I've given the outline of the story some thought and I wanted to expand the scope of Book 1 to be more inline with what I have planned for the other books. As it stood before, Book 1 was the more boring as it was all set-up and all taking place in pretty much the same locations with Richtofen and maybe Maxis a little too as the only main characters. I am broadening the scope to have the stories of Peter McCain, Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, and Takeo Masaki be more expanded on, and I am proud to release the first chapter involving Peter McCain, which ties directly in with the adjacent chapters. I would also recommend re-reading the other chapters as well as I have added new information to further flesh them out and have corrected some errors in later chapters. Anyway, without further ado, here is Chapter 3 of Book 1, Schlaukopf. Also, there is a good amount of German in this chapter, so if someone fluent in the language can let me know if I am way off on some of the grammar and how I could fix it, that would be great.
  24. Hey everyone, really long time no see. I have good news and bad news. The good news is, despite the hiatus, I am not giving up on this project. Honestly, I think about potential story threads and character encounters all the time. But, with every yin, there is a yang, and the truth is I am overwhelmed with school work more so than previous semesters, and for that reason the hiatus will probably continue. It seems worrying that I have not released a full chapter since July 26th, if you could even count that Monty intro as a full chapter. But there is a multiverse chapter centered around Takeo that I did some work on during a short bout of free time, but I have had very little of it since to finish it. I hate to just pop in, empty-handed, to say that I'm busy again. So I will leave you with some behind-the-scenes preliminary stuff I've written that will hopefully spark some interest in the project again. As always, criticisms and suggestions are encouraged. Better to get them out now than after I've already written them I suppose. First I present a rough draft of the first chapter of Honor's Suffering. It is meant to tell Takeo's story at Division 9's Island facility right up until the events of Zetsubou No Shima. You will notice it ends very abruptly because I had to go to class and never got around to finishing it. So note this is a first draft and partially incomplete. This is the outline for chapters 1-7 of Honor's Suffering, going into detail on the plot of each chapter. I was really looking forward to writing this one and hope to at some point soon. Here is the outline for the first 8 chapters of Book 3. I wrote these out when I was really invested in Victis' story, and I really did look forward to expanding on them since they are not characterized in the game very well and I have a lot of freedom to take them where I want. Here is the outline for all 45 chapters of Book 1 after chapter 7. Yep, I planned that far ahead. These are fairly basic but that is mostly because I based it around the events of the timeline. I also have the last set of chapters for Book 4 planned out in detail. Why am I not showing them here? Well, they're too awesome to be shown as just an outline. I think the experience would be spoiled if I just revealed what I had planned for them as they have me very excited. So maybe a while down the road when I get around to Book 4 and get to the end, I will be able to write out those chapters. Anyway, I hope this all made up for the hiatus, just a little bit. I am not giving up on this project. I am already too invested. Let's just hope Treyarch's next game doesn't flip everything I think I know upside down again
