Pablo's Vril map to Power

September 2th, 1944: "Pablo Marinus, a Mexican spy, is captured by Group 935 at Der Eisendrache."

Did anyone ever also wonder why a spy from Mexico had infiltrated Group 935? Surely it could be one of the many random nationalities that worked at the international organization that Group 935 was, but that would be too lame for us story enthusiasts right? Pablo may have been working for Group 935 because he comes from the country of origin of the Aztec and Maya: Mesoamerican societies that hold a grand mystery because most of their culture was wiped out in the post-Columbian years, and we therefore know relatively little about them. This gap of historical records, as well as the culture's extensive spiritual, astronomical and architectural knowledge, has given the Mesoamerican cultures a special place in Vril- and Ancient Alien mythologies. Could Dr. Pablo have been a knowledgeable scientist in Mesoamerican history, therefore having an important role to play in Group 935's research to Vril? And can the Vril in our story be related to the Aztec at all?

To spoil the answer of the second question: yes. A mysterious piece of paper dubbed the "Vril Map", called like this by filename, is a mysterious piece of paper found in Pablo's holding cell in Call of the Dead. Though interestingly referred to as a map, the document actually represents an Aztec calendar

Different than the original Aztec calender, the Vril map seems to center what seems to be the Moon instead of the Sun. The Aztec were earlier than Copernicus in figuring out that the Sun is the center of our solar system, but the fact that the Vril map centers the Moon is interesting. Could it relate to it being the location of the MPD and therefore being the center of some kind of ethereal power? On the four sides of the Moon is something resembling an Indian swastika, with four different Aztec deities symbols in each of them. In the Moon loading screen, five Aztec deities are mentioned as well.

"Not dissimilar to the Aztec and Mayan calendars, the Mythos disc defines the celestial patterns for your practical and magical purposes. Cipactli, Ehecatl, Calli, Cuetzpalin, Coatl, etc. are represented in non-visible form. Abide by its magical powers and use"

This may explain why the Moon, and thereby the Mythos Disc, is in the center of the Vril map. If it is able to define celestial patterns for magical powers, perhaps this Aztec calender is a "map" after all: By defining the stars and planets according to the Vril map, power is yours. There are some scramblings on the map, written in Spanish. Together with the fact that it is found in Pablo's holding cell, this is additional proof that Pablo was working for Group 935 due to his knowledge on Aztec items, perhaps specifically for this piece of paper. Let's translate it, which ElectricJesus and Schrodinger tried some years ago:

“Cuando los 6 _____ (cosmos maybe?) juntos, el poder sera de nosotros!”

Meaning: "When the six ____ together, the power will be for us!" If it does in fact say cosmos, he might be referring to “six degrees of freedom,” or the six directions in which an unfixed object in 3d space can travel. (Up, down, back, forth, left, right.) Could also relate to the wallwriting "Beware of the 6"

“Tanta en unos de los 4 cardinales?”
how far in one of the four cardinals?” (Cardinal meaning compass direction in this case). Instead of “Tanta” it might be 2 words, starting with “De ____” not positive, or "contara"

“a las 7 de la noche”

Meaning: "at 7 pm”

 “2 partas de un ....”

Meaning: "Two parts of something"

Whatever this may mean, it starts to look more and more like a map rather than a calender, referring to an exact celestial point in time/space. Due to the bad resolution, I am not sure if it is actually intended to be decode, or if it is simply a clue left behind by the developers to give us an idea what Group 935 was researching here.

Parts of the Vril map are scattered across the map, containing numbers that are used in the Easter Egg. There are four dials in the lighthouse that must be set to these numbers, and once they are correct the submarine will shine a green beam of light through the center, allowing you to sacrifice a human being to get the golden rod. In Tag der Toten we learn from Pablo that the dials help us to communicate with otherworldly entities. So it seems that the numbers written on the Vril map are some kind of frequency that allows for objects to pass through a portal. Similar to the rituals in Shadows of Evil, the usage of the portal requires the exchange of a human being or soul to generate the energy needed.

How did Pablo know about this? Was it because of the map, because of his expertise to Aztec astronomy & spirituality? How did Group 935 got hold on the Vril map anyway, and what are its origins? Perhaps this map was that of the Shadowman's proto-Keeper faction, using it to lead their way to power and corruption by constructing a device that could define celestial patterns for their purpose. Richtofen could've forced Pablo to decode it for him, after which he followed the Apothicons in their footsteps by his search to ultimate power. What do you think?

Could it be a clue about BO2's towers Easter eggs ? Treyarch thought about towers since WAW so they could have planned 6 at some point : TranZit/The tower powered for Maxis near Nuketown that a survivor talks about on the farm's TV./Die Rise/Buried/2 maps planned before Blundell makes his own.

It's like those 5 orange and blue stars, is it a scraped idea for see our progress in the super easter egg ? (The tower near Nuketown can not count, I guess.)

Interestingly, that star has its point downwards, resembling the Sigil of Baphometh, more populary known as the Satanic pentagram. The symbol is tied with occultism and believed to have magical properties allowing you to communicate with evil spirits, which sounds kinda alike how the Flesh communicate with ethereal Richtofen. Different, but similar magical diagrams that allow us mortals to communicate with otherworldly demons are John Dee's Seal of God (hinted in Der Eisendrache) and the Apothicon ritual diagrams encountered in Shadows of Evil and Blood of the Dead. "When the 6 are together" and "Beware of the 6" also reminds me of the Apothicon symbol, which resembles three 6's on top of each other, similar to 666 (the Mark of the Beast).

That mention of the tower in Jackass Flats (most likely the BREN tower) always interested me. According to a document found in Classified, Richtofen demanded the US government to built a Global Polarization Device on one location, but could there indeed be more? Similar to how Richtofen ordered the Soviets to construct one somewhere, whereas the one in China seems to be built on top of a skyscraper that is most likely much more new than any Soviet tower in the 1940s. How many of these towers are there out there? Makes me curious what other locations the developers initially had in mind...
