  1. Or they could just be messing with us for the sake of it? It wouldn't be the first time. It isn't so subtle actually. The hat takes up a good 5-10% of the screen, adorning the most focal point of the sole character in the shot. When we saw TranZit for the first time, we saw the same kind of hat. But it wasn't a Nazi, no. It was a bus driver.

@MysteryMachineX True, true. And that could be interesting. We're all speculating, so your guess is as good as mine; but the bus driver was still an automaton whose intelligence level was restricted to pre-apocalypse circumstances, and additionally was geographically discombobulated.

Yes, that hat is very standard military/service personelle; and most likely it is the former. And if that is the case, then he is either in his dress uniform (current) or an officer from the period in which that hat was worn at the parade as well as the encampment.

So what army, then? There is no strong concrete evidence proving any theory yet; but not only is Nazi most likely based on precedent, but also based on the dark armband, belt, and white uniform.

Not an 'I'm write, you're wrong.' I appreciate your open-minded objections to what seems to be immediately apparent. :)

  2. Granted, Treyarch disappointed with BO2 Zambies; but I think they love the story as much as we do. They are proud of it. And they don't really have a history of straight-up telling us stuff. They want us to figger it out. Remember Der Riese and Shi No Numa. Not a hint. Other than mythical tech, Nazis, and a mysterious symbol, we didn't get shown much. Unless we searched. I know players who, to this day, didn't realize there was even a story to the Zombies game mode. Heck, they didn't know the characters had names. Because they weren't paying attention to game content. Merely gameplay. Treyarch caters to us, not them.

That being said, I am virtually convinced that, not only will they continue the story we know...or theorize and LOVE; but they're gonna do it well. I feel kinda like BO2 was the equivalent to The Walking Dead's S2. Slow. Less entertaining than the others (I say so loosely, because all TWD is amazing) but essential, all the same. Except for MotD. Which, as good as the map is, and as eerie, is frustratingly outta place and essentially, too much on the occultic instead of scientific/mystic-science based and completely outta line and outta time for the story.

Means folks, this story is just getting started. This is good shit. LOL! Just my rock solid unmoving and blindly loyal opinion. They'll have two screw up BO3 and Treyarch 5 to lose me.

@HardenedTitan I can understand the frustration; but for someone like myself, hardcore Zombies player, and love the campaigns, but who only plays multiplayer on occasion, I am thankful that they don't stick to exclusives like that. Now, I'm all for rewarding the loyal, but not that way.

  3. Anyone else notice that the colour and lighting of the little snippet matches the wall weapon picture from the DICE presentation?

    Yes! No doubt about it!

And @MysteryMachineX, granted about the hat. But the way they did that so subtly is a very strong indication that we're looking at the return of the true Zombies. :D 'Cause Treyarch loves to tease us and they knew we'd flip shit if we saw a Nazi Zambie return to the game.

  4. The entire setting seems WW2-esque to me, to be honest - which is beyond amazing if it's true. Actually I don't care in the slightest that the game is set in the future, as long as they keep zombies in the traditional style.

My sentiments exactly. A good story can be told regardless of timeframe, and none better than Treyarch; but Zombies has a history of being past and barely present (even with the supposed '2025' maps...which is probably not even an true statement, as they seem to be more of a 60s' prediction of the future than actual future.)

speaking of which, that is a subject that I would like to see addressed this time around, though I could care less about BO2 for the most part.

  5. is V.E.R.S.I.O.N. an A.I. Maybe Base off a real physical brain ? What could it stand for? I think it may be losing its own mind. Was it this first part of module 3 or 4 says Singapore where it is clearly in Zurich. Also was Hollywood hit by a meteor or bomb?

Yes. Y'know, I blew that off at the time cause I was just trying to read all the way through. Huh. Now you got me wondering. But yeah, ::MODULE_4.0//:INITIALIZING, starts (correctly sequentially ordered) in Zurich, but is labeled 'Singapore, 2037'

I think the drone attacks on LA and whatnot refer to the Cordis Die assault of 2025 (BO2). Meanwhile, his nightmare sounds like a Nova-6 leak...but why?

  6. If Richtofen were in control, he would not be in Origins or any maps at all. He would be erased. Also someone else would take his place. For a start. the zombies wouldn't be released and Maxis would not die as Richtofen says he unleashed the zombies. Maxis would be alive in this timeline.

Interesting. If you're on the right track, this (and it has always fascinated an baffled me) may be a huge chunk of intel:

    Dear diary,
Another day, another failure. This time subject N3WB just slightly improved. The Russian subject still smells like urine. Even after he was given a bath and deloused twice. I think I might have killed the specimen from Mexico. His spleen is on the floor and he's not moving anymore. I can verify with certainty that the barrier is not located in the spleen. Dr. Maxis must continue no matter the cost. I wonder what he might think of the experiments on the little girl. (Edward laughs then a monkey screech is heard.) Nein (No in German)! Drop that! That's my spleen! Mine!

    Dear diary,
(static) As for the control group tests, they have been put on hold. Recently I discovered that Doctor Maxis has not been mass producing the DG-2 as he swore he would. If he won't move those plans forward, then I won't continue following his dream of an undead army! He doesn't deserve his perch of power! He doesn't know what to do with it, but I know just what to do with him... and I'll take care of that little brat when I get the chance too...

  7. Here's my theory in full:

Technology is being advanced at a rapid rate. So is war. Mankind uses what's around them to become stronger. This leads to advancements like Threat-detection and Night-vision eyes, robotic suits for increased mobility (not double jumps, no-fall-damage, and boots, but wall-climbs, grapples, and camouflage.), and even more advanced things: Eyes being able to send information back to a central computer for analysis, ears to be used as a sensor for movement, noses to detect the smell of bombs. Eventually it gets to the point where a single hacker (Dr. Salim) could potentially hack INTO a soldier and get them to hear what they want, see what they want, and kill who they want. En Mass could destroy entire armies. This technology is the spawn of the research done on Alex Mason. The counter technology is called: The wolf project. (Resnov's code name)

Not a big fan of the plot, 'cause I'm still hoping Mason will actually be a playable character; but otherwise, I really like this idea. Good thinking! *Brains for well-founded theory*

  8. I hate the idea of connecting campaign to zombies but I have this idea that maybe the first map will show the characters die and get replaced by super soldiers that Maxis had created in the future. How he is alive I do not know but I love that idea that we get even better super soldiers. Especially ones dealing with the loss of their humanity. Obviously it may be exo suits, not putting that down but if its robotics they have a lot they can do. I am pretty excited for the reveal.

We'll all be eating some humble pie over the next year, so just my opinion: I don't see them becoming non-human. The whole "villain controversially modifies humans" idea is very cliche, and while it seems obvious that there will be biomod technology, I think Treyarch's gonna play it subtly. Subtlety is their specialty; and they love to twist our minds. As Mark Lamia stated "we wanted to lean into the darkness and brutality of war; with rich story and characters that were angry and filled with vengeance, in...what we felt would be the grittiest World War 2 game in the franchise."

I don't believe Treyarch has or ever will abandon that mindset. They have prioritized story and involved characters. We're all deeply attached to the people we've come to know through this story-Alex Mason, Frank Woods, Viktor Reznov, David Mason, on and on. You don't build hype for a game that won't bring those things we love back HEAVILY into play.

  9. But if there is one thing I am certain of about Treyarch, it is that the word "coincidence" is not in their vocabulary. This is too obvious.

Or this is the biggest troll ever, and they'll just announce World at War 2 on the 26th lol

Both of these comments cracked me up. So true. Treyarch hasn't really let us down yet...they've had this thought out for a long time. And these factors, regardless of how far we may be to the actual plot line, are MAJOR to the story. I've got a new idea brewing. They're up to more than we thought. This story is just getting started.
