  1. I have a plan, something that would work well. Something that would allow you to supply brains but also supply likes and thanks and things like that. Need to look into it more but I have a plan to take forward to everyone ;)

  2. Well, here is a snap shot of a message that I'm sending the company kitchensforsaleliverpool1

    So anyone else wants to spam the inbox and the phone line, feel free.

  3. I had another one last night but this time I was doubled up in laughter from the sheer ineptitude or the will to kill another player, I'll go with the latter.

    Someone put the trample steam at the end of the slide towards the box, I wasn't hitting the box as I didn't need to, however, sliding down pinged me back, then slid down again but never made it the full way and fell and died. I was doubled up, pissed off and him know I was, to which he replied "I'm sorry, I didn't realise" lol

    Sometimes you just have to laugh or you will go insane.

  4. So I joined a lobby with 3 others and was looking for a good game, I was disappointed. So we are in spawn room and 2 players are insistent on killing zombies in the spawn room for a couple of rounds. One player is saying over his MIC, I'm not reviviving any of you if you go down, you are all are shit at this game.

    So he then goes and opens the door to the escalator, I presume he proceeds down to the buildable table for the trample steam but not 100% certain. Anyway, we still have starting pistol on round 3, I'm working my way over to power switch and all I see is a wee yellow down sign pop on the screen.

    Then all of a sudden, I hear "you are all shite, I'm doing everything your all f***ing useless and the inevitable backout happens. That's always funny, although I was doubled up due to the way the self proclaimed king of zombie player actualy knew shit & then proceeded to blame everyone else for his short comings.

    I just found it fairly funny last night.

  5. I've got to say, my mates hate this map for the same reasons.

    1. They are wrong
    2. Play it, understand it
    3. DON'T hit the box, solo or co-op, wall gun can do you fine (MP40 from tank station)
    4. Pandzer soldat is eaasy, let him chase you, turn, shoot, turn shoot - the red dot is on his craw (left side, right side when you face him) if he grabs you shoot it or even knife it.
    5. This is a fairly easy map, training spots exist in abundance (stamin up is a must on this map)
    6. Practice, get used to the map, get used to NOT hitting the box
    7. Get into a lobby when others also know what they are doing - pretty hard I know but it helps, if they start to hit the box you are most likely in for a tough game.
  6. Craig, I don't think we need to tie them together in order for this to work.

    I imagine the current reputation system works a bit like this:

    If post_count >= 100 & < 200

    {rank = 2}

    All we need to do is add in the brain points.

    If post_count >=100 & <200 & brain_count >= 10

    {rank=2}

    This way you only have to change the way the reputation system works in terms of requirements needed.

    Namely by adding one more value - the brains.

    I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination; so please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

    You would basically be looking at adding if statements into the code for the post count incrementation, which isn't an issue persay and something that can be done. The problem is that is a massive change to the core functionality of the forum code for the reputation system (brains) and the rank system (zombiefication). Now if a modification existed that doesn't touch the core forum code that does this, then yeah why not (none exist bwt, already looked). Modifying the core forum code and keeping a note of the modifications that are already done, versus new modifications to the source code is a pain in the arse and if security patches come out and upgrades come out that need to amend how it works in anyway shape or form, it can potentially break the system.

    I don't mind either way but I'm against editing the source code unecessarily and this isn't necessary, we can do it manually without any issues occurring in the future.

  7. I think we may have to physically change it - which could be a pain, but it is worth it in the long run. Plus, the people achieving those ranks will be fairly small. Shouldn't be too hard to manage the switches.

    Let's ask the master though - what say you, Craig?

    I'm running for the hills, don't bring me into this ffs :D

    Seriously though, these are two different systems that are default forum systems. Currently as it stands they work independently from one another, post count v's rank are not tied in anyway, shape or form. So the simple answer to this, is manual intervention is required.

    Secondly, when user/post count and topics/posts are recounted, and caches are synchronized so are is the reputation count. So if it "brains" is artificially inflated in anyway shape or form, then they would be recounted to what has actually been awarded. Simple solution is, don't recount brains.

    I don't want to tie these two together, purely for the simple fact it is a default feature within the forum and may be hindered with future upgrades, making the work done to integrate them pointless and would need to be redone "potentially". You'll all remember that the PHPBB forum had a lot of add ons, that broke, a lot of edits would have been required to the core forum code, which is likely why it broke and hence the difficulty in recovering brains and zombiefication and so forth.

    So keep it simple, manually add brains by whatever incrimentation required. We curently have it set to 1 brain, 1 brain point - this can be change to 10, 20, 30 for example as well.

  8.

    Tamb, in honesty bud, you really need to watch what you say.

    THINK before you type a sentence out, saying stfu the both of you isn't exactly a very tactful response.

    I realize that it's not.I felt the need to be blunt to respond to the way they were acting.But alright.

    Cool, I've not got a problem with ya bud, you just need to remember that others are reading this forum as well - that type of response can rub people up the wrong way.

  9. Tamb, in honesty bud, you really need to watch what you say.

    THINK before you type a sentence out, saying stfu the both of you isn't exactly a very tactful response. You are a young lad and still finding your feet in life and a certain amount of tolerance is supplied but seriously, watch what you type.

    I agree with Nick on this one to be honest, userbars and tallys/perks/huds is to much information in the user info panel, it will become to crowded. I was a fan of using the perks rather than the userbars but we live in a democratic world and the democratic vote was for userbars.

    In the grand scheme of things, the userbars are the best option, they are uniformed from rank 1 to rank 10 or higher and the title and image changes but the image size and shape is pretty much identical throughout and fits the best.

  10. It's funny but 4 training areas do work on town but it does depend on how confident you are at running trains in a confined space. When me and my mates play survival on Town, one runs a train at double tap, one runs a train downstairs at jug, one is in the bar ann I run a train in a confined area at the bowling alley.

    We all have quick access to each other if one goes down and we have it working extremely well. We generallyu only get to 25/30 rounds but it's usually because one of us has to come off at midnight and we don't start until 10pm or later.

  11. Alright.Then why are there still the perk bottles and tallies as eventual ranks?

    Someone needs to finalize this an move on, remember that there is a list available for viewing on EVERY members sidebar.

    Fully aware of that TAMB, we haven't hidden anything from anyone with the suerbars and we know that when testing different ones they can be seen by everyone from the pop up menu.

    Once everything has been finalised, this will be cleaned up and then the userbars that have been agreed upon and the ranking / post count structure that's all that will be seen.

  12. Just had one of my best WTF moments on buried, granted I was camping in the alleyway at jug - put the chopper down, ran up the stairs for a trample steam went to put it down forgetting and not seeing that the chopper was there - hit twice or three times by it and game over (had lost QR on prior round).

    More of a twat moment than anything else lol

  13. You all know it, you all hate it and if we wanted a ** BANNED WORD ** we would go to a reputable company and buy one from them.

    Anyway, we hate spam as much as you. We have several things in place to combat spam, the two most recently registered accounts balotelii and seznc are both spammers, unfortunately the system didn't think it was likely to be spam when these accounts registered. Both topics are spam, both topics are ** BANNED WORD **

    So, the use of the word k i t c h e n is a banned word and below is how it will appear. I'm still updating the banned word filter, so if you can think of any possible ways of spelling k i t c h e n - let us know below.

    ** BANNED WORD **

    So the use of that word is banned in any topic/post - it will be automatically be edited out, as well as several variations.

    We also use several system to stop spam upon registration.

    We use several questions designed for a human to answer and targeted at call of duty zombie players, they should easily know the answer and it should not prevent genuine registrations

    We use a keycaptcha system, that requires someone who is registering, to put a simple jigsaw together, we also use Invision Forums own spam database. So any user on any IPB forum that is registered as a spammer or is logged as a spammer,. is added to the database (after checks by IPB etc).

    We also use a service call stop forum spam, this database is utilized on a daily basis, here is an example email received as I type this post

    b0f25a66df5e96ef076e8f72b8332eac.png

    I've not blocked any of the detail within it, because it is genuine spam, it's a genuine spam account hosted by hotmail. It has been reported to hotmail, the IP address has been reported also to the relevant abuse team that leases the IP. So no need to do anything with the information but I don't see the point in hiding it.

    We are also now utilizing the database from Project Honey Pot, a service that is trying to stop spam occurring, getting to the root of the problem before they even know the domain name. Keep up with the reports, we will stop them but unfortunately spammers are like an itchy arse, it just keeps coming back.

  14. I'm with TAC, I'm not a believer in this being a story in Samantha's head. I think a huge clue is in the name of the MAP "Origins" - as in where things originated from. I believe Eddie is not Richtofen but possibly a new addition (Richtofens son maybe?), if we look at the time lines for the ending cut scene we can presume a date in time.

    Origins was set during the first world war period and I believe Samantha and Eddie, reenacted a story relayed to them of the beginning of the outbreak.

  15. I actually played a game on Die Rise last night, one with skull and knife the other 2 with crossbones. Well, I set myself up early and we all went quite well until about round 7/8 then the guy with skull and knife went down and backed out immediately without given someone a chance to revive him. The 2 crossbone players hadn't gone down yet, however, that changed quickly. Within the matter of 5 rounds I had a total revive count of 17, I'm no master of Die Rise as I've never really played it but I've learned a lot on this map over the past week.

    Unfortunately by round 17 the 2 players had backed out after being revived a few more times. So in essence, I like players that continue no matter what and dislike players that back out on the 1st down. You won't learn anything until you listen to those with a greater knowledge, I'm no great player by any means but I'm definitely better than average.
