  1. Okay. 360 version at least:

Edit: most likely patched now like the pap-away version.

You don't need to pap your guns away for infinite sword or shield (or even infinite Trip Mine reticle-which is useless).

Simply run your guns out of ammo and then use Sword. I didn't test the shield, but most likely it stays infinite.

Might help with the perfect bowling.

Might glitch the upgraded shield so that it lasts, so that folk can figure out the legitimate thing that we are supposed to do with it.

I swear: most of these glitches just happen to me. I went from round 16 to 24 with no max ammos, constant mawgra attacks, while running with a broken sword. So that's how i figured this glitch out.

    --------

This is not patched: Max Ammo often appears too high in the air, or in unreachable spots.

I wish they would stop the bugs from dropping max ammo inside the walls where you can't get them. Then i would have had max ammo. One glitch leads to another...

    Another finely crafted cod/sarcasm/sigh.

  2. I have been hearing of this randomly from xbone players. Didn't seem to be happening on 360. Often involves having the sword, but the locations are random.

Note also, that they just fixed the spot right there, by the steps, by the perk machine, where you used to be able to get up on the rail and whatnot, so maybe their fix has caused a worse glitch (as some of the zombie updates do).

Yea if you manage to get lucky & actually "Catch" one of the Lions Heads. You can see his mouth open & close as if he were yawning.

I doubt it, I'm on 360. It's minimal in the graphics. Ha.

But thanks for the mind visual, i might never have known.

  4. Some points and q's. Some taken from earlier posts to draw attention.

When shooting the Mawgra hearts from the train, that's in human form with regular guns, correct?

    Purple Mawgra? I'm missing something.

Purple upgraded Trip Mines, Arnie, unpap'd  Fisty WW. Keepers are red, like the upgraded Fisty WW. Someone mentioned 'feeding the keepers' and someone mentioned having this egg, never getting rid of it (and holding [?] the keepers was mentioned). Maybe feed it/the souls to the keepers? And a purple Mawgra... Does it have a dropped heart that you can construct Fisty with, for the upgraded version?

Are we supposed to do something while the Arnie upgrade dance is happening, while all of the zombies are hypnotized? Like attempting to PaP Fisty? Or checking out the Mystery Grapples during this time? Grabbing the Mystery Letter/bottle/victim of Canals? Looking at that same time at the 3 other ritual (cane, hat, bow tie) locations?

    I don't have a 360 team... But i can think of shit.

This is exactly what you heard almost like a Yawn-Roar. I'm curious though if this may be indicative of something. Especially since the "Empty Machines" tend to do this as well.

Once you said roar, I was convinced as it sounds vaguely like a lion yawn and the machines have the Old Tyme lion's heads.

  6. Daily 83457 brain dump:

Mawgra shooting tip/possible glitch: tested 360.

Take him through Nero's (it's easy to kite him up there, btw), drop down the fire escape. He is really easy to shoot as he stops to teleport (twice) on his way down. Especially with shotguns, but he is vulnerable to anything.

Glitch: often, he gets stuck as a purple ball as you do this. Sometimes he gets unstuck on his own, or you can simply run away and he will teleport to your new location. Sometimes he just stays stuck there as long as you stay nearby.

Edit for above ↑: This also can occur as he teleports through traps. He tends to get unstuck more frequently, maybe they patched it a little?

Mawgra shooting tip: go into Subway, go out of the Footlight rift and go right past the GGm. The Mawgra will teleport to the cthulu statue there, putting him ahead of the zombies. Quickly kill a head. This is for folk like me who take him out before/during a horde.

Mawgras fight Lil Arnies (Arnie loses).

First time fliers: the first time that you get the fliers simply go to the Loading Dock at Easy Street and hide in there. Carefully throw grenades just outside the room. This usually kills them all in 3-4 grenades.

Porkball Tip: any long views. By the Cthulu statue by Ruby Rabbit let's you see them far away. The start room steps allow you to see across the top, and the balls have trouble with those steps. The top of the steps in Nero's. Black Lace stage, iirc they go up the sides only.

    --------

Dead guy with 'W' (or upside down M for maxis?): i did just about everything i could to him, with little success.

However, after opening pap, i hit the Maxis audio cue, then ran up there immediately and threw Trip Mines by him. As soon as i did, my guy started tap dancing, he sounded like a horse in work boots tap dancing. This continued down the Tram steps and finally stopped when i started jumping. I've never seen a similar glitch, so i wonder if i was close to something, but not quite right, which caused it to glitch. I didn't have time, so i never built the sword. Maybe if that had been done first...

I know that you can fire the auxiliary blade of the upgraded Sword directly at something by aiming and then hitting the left trigger (great for flyers, Mawgra heads). I will try to do this to the Letter when i get a chance.

Of course it could be a 1-off glitch with excellent timing.

    -----

Trip Mines stick to anything: I've stuck them to the butts of flyers. They don't stick to zombies.

With instakill active, you can bounce a frag grenade off of a flyer without killing it.

Random thought: once you upgrade Trip Mines, they become donuts. Maybe we then need to get a kill at every Devil-O Donuts cart. Edit: you can do upgrades at the Devil-O carts or the Molly's carts, but not both as 1 player.

    -----

Beast shortcut: when going through Waterfront, by the beast fire by the Tram on the raised dias, you can cut through the alley there where the zombies come in (where they climb down by the workbench on the other side of the building) and go down the Trip Mine side of the boxing gym, saving a second or two.

    -----

Some rifts, you can lay down and crawl under the portals. I've managed to avoid zombie hits, but i haven't fully explored this. May be a spot for bathroom breaks in mp games if they patch the other 'bathroom spots'.

    -----

Shield flight glitch (might be exploitable, needs fix): i haven't really explored this much, but if you get zombies on you, you tend to fly (and die). Get new shield, get lone zombie in Ruby Rabbit. Have him follow you out on the front steps. Turn and face him with the shield (or let him hit you from behind, with shield on back, either way is dangerous). As he's above you on the steps, hitting your shield, he will usually end up 'on' you. This should then cause you to start to fly up in the air along the building. Try to keep the shield between you and him. You may be able to get on a building or the sky barrier. This probably works on any steps and other locations. Side effects may include death, loss of perks, temporary bans if done online/for high rounds, laughing, and teammate surprise. Edit: can get on Junction crane.

I am such a Johnnie player type...

The gobble gum machine does roar (yawn) from time to time,,, That might be it.

I'm thinking that is what it is. I did not hear it last night. I must not have been near it at the right times.

  8. Hey Rago11,

    I'm on 360, so i guess it's different.

Chang's, under the coat with the ticket, in the bottom corner of the room, it glows orange.

On 360, there is no light or noticeable objects by the boxing gym rocks. I looked thoroughly and carefully. I won't completely rule it out, but since there is nothing there on 360, I'm guessing that it's a lighting issue on xbone. The rocks on 360 are straight up bland.

  9. Hmmm. I also considered bowling over a mawgra with the upgrade. I haven't got to it though.

    ------

Speculation that i wish to try:

Okay, so after the PaP ritual, we get an audio cue from Maxis available.

We have a lone dead guy by the Canal Tram with a letter marked W (upside down M for maxis?).

By the far end of Canal is a workbench with 2 boxes, 1 marked [4D.OCT01.004] with [2008.05.15] underneath, which would be most of a month before SNN came out, iirc.

We know that Big Arnie (upgraded) grabs things before his upgrade.

So 2+2= trigger audio cue, grab the M letter with Arnies, put in box for future Maxis (Der Riese was the first we heard of Maxis, iirc. We got the characters in SNN, but i don't think Maxis was mentioned, even though 'the Giant' was).

Maybe upgraded trip mines are needed. Maybe the WW is needed.

Off to mess around with this.

Would I lose any save files? I haven't done any campaign so surely not much

    Maybe.

It may also be from an update that glitched. Try deleting the game updates first, then let them reinstall.

If you didn't originally have the issue, i would blame that first.

  11. Edit: the Lion heads on the GGm occasionally yawn, complete with animation. This is what i heard.

    ***********

Maybe someone can point this out, maybe it's obvious.

Several times while playing, I've heard this sound, like a yawn played through an electronic filter. Maybe 2 seconds long. I hear it at different times and different parts of the map.

The last time, i was at Waterfront, in the first area from junction. I was between the box location (no box) and an empty GG machine. I had 83 kills, no WW. It sounded roughly like it came from the GG side of me, so it could be the GG, the cthulu statue upstairs, or something else.

I tend to hear it near one or the other or both. GG and BL.

Did the box/GG machine get bored? Did i run around too much and bore the shadowman?

Anyone understand this sound? I don't hear it often, but it could be just GG or ?Box ambiance.

  12. Interesting.

It kind of makes sense in a game balancing way (which is odd for trollarch) in that, normally only one player has the WW, by requiring it to be recycled, you let others have a chance at it.

Then we saw the 'everyone can take it' glitch return. Maybe because when it is properly upgraded, everyone can take their named version. Maybe the programmers are just sloppy. Shrug.

So, hypothetically, each player would need to get it, do something to it, then return it to the box.

A guess would be that each player needs 100 kills with it at their players ritual location. Possibly with BBs, and LAs.

Edited in: i thought someone cycled the gun, but never saw the gun in the box, in the cycling animation. Maybe because once you've had it, you're done, it won't come back to you. Each player must get it. Then, after all have had it, it appears on the bench again, upgraded./edit.

Possibly, each must destroy a cthulu statue with the WW, BBs, upgraded Arnies. (Because of the destroy statue sound file). Can each player upgrade LA? This might explain why the upgraded TM (BBs) fire a focused column of purple as compared to the double rings of death of the unupgraded version. The upgraded ones also destroy your shield-an upgraded shield connection?

A similar book to the Nero's floating book is in several locations. Maybe we need to get them all to float. I think, but am not positive, that the Nero book is originally on the table and then moved to the floor before it becomes interactable. Maybe that other book is still there and I'm just thinking that it moved. I'll try to check this out later.

Has anyone tried upgrading the WW during the flag step? The flag is in the subway, near the pap. It could be a clue.

Or maybe you need to jump into the abyss with it to properly get it into the box. Grr. You never know until you know.

    Happy hunting!

anyone ever try to be in Beast mode and jump into the water near the waterfront?

Yes, to no avail. But theater mode shows boats under the boats (as I've seen pictures of, no theater mode on my 360).

Oddly, as a solo game loads, there is something shining/shimmering in the boxing gym that does not match anything in game. You can see it through the side windows.

    ----

The poster in Nero's landing says 'Nero knows all' or similar. Also, in the mp load screen, he is the focus character, larger and above the rest. His ritual location is first and different from the rest, but that could just be the map layout without it meaning anything. A room of secretS.

He was in a coma and so couldn't sign the loan papers, showing that his wife forged them.

He says, after beast, 'if i could have done this in my shows, i would have brought the house down' (or similar). So he clearly hadn't done this before.

    Just some thoughts...

  14. The third one that i called out was in footlight above the steps by the perk. Look right and up from the gg machine.

The canal one, i believe is for just getting there from a different angle, depending on how you come at the RR. I also feel this about the 2 by the Footlight perk machine. The 'hidden' one actually works better for beasting than the obvious one. So those two are probably just for normal use.

I can not find any reason for the one in Footlight above the workbench, nor the one above stamin up on Junction.

So those are the mystery grapples. Again, i feel there is a connection to the train, but i don't have a 'suss shit out' group on 360.

  15. This isn't exactly correct.

Speaking as the first to actually notice this glitch. :)

Anytime you zap them as beast and leave the immediate area, they will respawn as double. Sometimes inside each other, making them walk sideways.

    Solo:

I open the first door, gather and zap the zombies by qr, fire up qr, loading dock, key, crane, SU. Stay by Su.

When beast ends, run to Su to force respawn (12 zombies). Gather by SU, zap them, open Nero's. When beast ends, i run up through Nero's (and transmogrify the 2 Pen keepers as this still works on 360). 26ish zombies.

Do Chang's for $500, stab 4 zombies to be over $1000, open Waterfront for knife, or whichever for juggernog, use beast again to make more. Transmogrify Subway zombies.

That's usually how i start the game. Then i buy the gun i want to level, or grab a round 1 or 2 BK and Jugger.

Edit: watch out for the 5 nukes that you will see by round 4. Ugh. I guess that was to balance it a little.

  16. Hmmm. Never noticed the ticket/jacket.

I wait until third pulse and then throw it directly above the center table, works every time.

It is excellent for the start of a solo game: you only need to stab 4 zombies to get a second door open, leaving more for the beast's cloning ability. I've killed 52 round 1 zombies, probably could get more.

  17. I guess that this falls under 'point of interest'. I got a weird one here. Assumed glitch. I'm on 360, if that matters.

Edit: it seems to be last gen only, or possibly only on 360. So don't worry about this on xbone.

Take train to Footlight. Do not drop the steps, don't open the $1000 door to Junction.

Drop down into the area by the vesper and it's game over. I've tried repeatedly, on different rounds, opened the rift door, et cetera. It just kills you for no reason. It's not like you couldn't buy your way out or beast the rift to subway open...

    ----

I was trying to play 'the pit' and just survive there without opening doors, just the vesper, a pod, traps, and i.

You can do this (the pit) at waterfront by buying a barricade and dropping down by the box location, or at canal (kind of lame there, because zombies drop down and block you) by buying a barricade. I guess since you don't buy a door/barricade, the game stupidly thinks that you are cheating. It kills you dead, game over, no revives, no refunds, no explanations. It won't happen often, but it needs to be fixed.
