  1. Damn. Ragdoll has been doing work, getting dings, tryharding away. Good job man.

So kudos to you RD, but i guess this isn't quite right or there is a variable that you're missing. Because you seem to keep getting the same results, even though others aren't. So double check everything, because you seem to be getting close to it.

See if you can find what makes you get the same results consistently. We appreciate the effort.

Lol, we are talking Apothicon language, which is a made up language. That language from my observation, is much different then Spanish.

Glitching Queen on YouTube posted a video recently, completely breaking down this language and matching symbols to everything all over the map. However I do not agree completely on some small bits of her breakdown, she did an amazing job in my opinion compiling all the information scattered about.

Oh sure. But whatever agua means in this language, it is mentioned in more than one step. That's the important bit.

I think the issue with what's being suggested though is "MAR" doesn't mean "MARGWA".

    MARGWA means MARGWA

How can you just assume Maroth means Margwa, when they've told us Margwa means Margwa?

The same goes for "NAR, LOR, and KOR".

Your saying "NAR" means ID Gun. However Na'orruja means ID Gun.

Ah. I didn't look too closely at his translating.

I can't help but notice that the prefixes are alphabetical.

If it is the steps of the upgrade, as I've suggested, then the alphabetical could point us to the order of operations.

    Kor-Maroth (first-maroth) (build AS)

Lor-Zarozzor (second- Zarozzor) (Survive- or - ing)

Mar-Astaqua (then- astagua) agua/water? Put in water? May not be water of course, but a lot of languages use a similar word. Ast appears in head and ritual. (Then -Head water, ritual water?). Edit: from the Apothicon/Keeper language thread, Astagua might mean 'Cursed'. 3:Cursed. Something to do in Beast mode?

Nar-Ullaqua (finally-ullaqua) again with the aqua on the end. (Last- consume)

Kor and lor are similar, making me think first/second.

Mar and nar are similar, making me think order of operation words, but more like then, next, finally, lastly.

Or i could have these two categories backwards... But i went with alphabetical, hoping it was a clue. But it could be reverse alphabetical.

    Head explodes.

What of these words can we translate, if any?

    ------

Okay, exact translation: ullagua = consume. That is the only exact fit.

Kor appears in only, ones, and 'at the same time' (at one time). This suggests that Kor is a word for 1 or similar.

If alphabetical is correct, first we Maroth, last, we consume.

Mar appears as it's own symbol, but without description. Otherwise it appears only in Margwa. The symbol shows 3 dots and an X. I hate to stretch this, but it could mean 3, making Margwa (3-something, like 3 eyes). Oth appears in many words. In nouns, it is mostly creatures. So we could extrapolate: kor-Maroth= first- margwa+(elementals/flyers/box)= Build Apothicon Servant (Margwa heart, tentacle, xenomatter). This seems a believable solution. Or One (Kor): 3(Mar) creature(oth) as another way of looking at it. This then would imply that Mar is 3 or third in Mar-Astagua. This also implies that the guns start with Kor/1(first) *Lor/2(second) Mar/3 (third) and then *Nar/4(fourth), gun step or gun variant. *Best guess.

Lor (second?) Zarozzor loosely would be survivor? Surviving? Something similar to survive. Second-survive what?

Mar (3 or third)-astagua? We know Ullagua is consume, so astagua is purge? Spend? (Then- anti-consume?) Ast is in head and ritual... Headshot? (Then-Headshot). There are headshot hints on other things. Purge yourself of the gun (put in box)? So this would be step 3 to me, or Gun version 3 to the OP/TC. Edit: Cursed?

    Nar-Ullagua: lastly, consume? What, where?

Kor seems like first or 1, and ullagua is consume. The rest is speculation, though Mar seems reasonable. Edit: Astagua= Cursed?

    Shrug.

    ----

One more take, if i have Lor and Nar backwards:

    1. 3 creatures (margwa-heart, pod-tentacle, flyer/meatball-xenomatter) make AS. Alternately: kill 3 types with it (parasite + elemental + zombie) or (elemental/flyer + zombie + margwa trapped in the shot).

    2. Consume (egg step, feed Egg at statue). Maybe only use AS?

    3. Head/purge/other? (Use sword, headshot Margwa during Ovum step). We all know there is something to that, but what? Maybe this is it. The red circle seems to recharge your sword one full time, or a few partials. This is kind of difficult to pull off solo, but not impossible. Edit: Cursed? Use beast? To locate cocoon?

    4. Survive- ing, -or? Too much to guess at this point. X rounds? Or without AS (in cocoon?)? Or at a specific location? Flag step, shadowman step, finish ee?

    That's my current thoughts.

    ----

And Reddit: according to posts that i was reading, they consistently get (upgrade_ID_Gun_ready_0) sound when it is built. But i only get this on rare occasions. 360 issue, or something that needs to be done?

Then, they get 10 kills with it as soon as a margwa spawns in for (uidgr1). So it seems that those are the first steps.

Ready 0 seems to match Kor-Maroth: 1-3(creature/item). What i find odd is that it gives you this clue (to build it) in the name, after it is built.

This would mean Nar-ullaqua is 2-consume.

So, if these are correct, then the upgrade is right under our noses, we just need to get it done right.

Leaving 3-Cursed? And 4-Survive -or, -al, -ing?

Can we just figure this out already? :)

I do this on the XBone all the time. I've also been wondering once you acquire the Margwa Head, if the Traps did less damage to the player.

Another thing that's weird, the other night I was messing around with the Traps in the mid 40s and they would chop off the Zombies Heads. However they didn't die, they kept on running after me until I killed them.

Yes, this happens around round 45ish. They just get too strong for the traps.

I'll bet that i can slide through them, with juggernog, but the game just gypped me when i tried.

    InCODsistancy is probably the answer.

  5. This sounds good man. But we need some progress. Has there been any consistency in getting different names?

    I'm usually getting Mar-Astagua.

When i played with the red circles, i got ullaqua or similar.

I'll quickly mention the thought that these names could be the actual 4 steps to upgrade.

    But, on your theory:

    1. Maybe with the sword(?), when a mawgra is stuck in the WW void.

    2. If you're correct, that may be why most folk aren't getting it back out of the box. We need a mawgra present.

    3. Lots of obvious suggestions that have probably been tried, but one needs the right WW in this theory.

    4. ?

  6. More to the Trip Mine than meets the eye.

In addition to the Molly's Cream Cake upgrade, you can instead do the Devil-O Donuts upgrade.

Same way, just different carts: Get a Trip Mine kill by each cart of the appropriate type.

D-O: 4 carts, 1 in each district. Makes pleasant sound as each is activated. Upgraded Trip Mine explodes pale yellow. While on the ground, it looks like black cake from MCC cart picture, which seems like a clue. Called Bouncing Bette on the ground.

MCC: 3 carts; junction, canals, footlight. Samantha laugh when activated. Upgraded TM explodes purple. Looks like Devil-O donut picture while in the ground. Called Bouncing Bettie on the ground.

    ---

Note: as soon as the last cart is done, your Trip Mine counter will replenish, so you will know that it worked. Also, the visual will change when it explodes, and it will make a kazoo noise as it explodes.

As each is upgraded, there will be a column of light that you may not see if you are too close. If you move away a little, the column of light looks like whitish mist. If you are further away, it looks very similar to the ?Box light, including lightning, and can be seen from across the map.

    ---

Trying to do one after the other has proven impossible so far, with no sounds being generated, either order. I have only done solo, so i don't know if each can be made by different players.

    ---

I tried to do both at once, a D-O cart, then MCC cart, D-O, et cetera. This stopped either from being possible. I got multiple kills at each and never again got an audio cue.

  7. Point of interest/puzzle: Traps.

The first part here, I've written on other posts, but i want this known. The latter parts are possible clues.

    If all of these statements are true;

PaP room is open (ritual not necessary).

You have taken the Subway Egg for swords.

You have activated the Trap at least once.

...then the Trap chains begin to rattle loudly. Seems to be an obvious audio hint.

Edit: while the above is true, i have also played 'no pap' survival games where i never opened any of the Rifts, and eventually the Traps began to rattle, so this is a little odd.

Its definitely RK though, not RX.

In that picture up there, it's questionable at best. I think it looks slightly more like a K, but i can't rule out X without seeing the whole font.

It looks like a kink on the left side, which would be odd for a K.

Edit: it's a K, let's move on to what this ee means. :)

You're issue might be juggernog. I assume you're talking about getting through a chain trap without going down. If it's anything like electric traps, you need jug to get through them. But sliding through them still works on the XB1.

Thanks man. With our without Juggernog, it's instant death on 360.

  10. Interesting.

Also, Pop Shocks GG, stab him as soon as he spawns.

Or run into Subway, take Rift to Footlight, head right, just past the GG machine, the mawgra teleports to the area under the perk machine so that you can take a clean shot at him. Then just lead him out through junction and into canals as you take out the other 2.

Whenever he spawns in, just shoot his face immediately while he's still recovering from the spawn, if able.

Swords easily take him down: just slash his open head. If you upgraded the sword, aim at his eye/head and hit LT, the fire blade usually just takes one out of you aim and fire it.

  11. I saw this in a video. This does not work on 360, unless it was added recently. I've tried multiple times.

Can you do this on xbone? Or was it patched?

Edit: whether i was glitched, or the map was, it works now. At first, it just immediately killed me with Juggernog or not, now it barely hurts. Presumably patched.

Yea Xbox 1 also has the video been uploaded with my post cuz I can't see it on mobile

I do not see it either.

Regardless, it is known, and someone here will hopefully explain the possible trigger for it. Since i haven't dealt with that issue, i don't recall what the verdict was.

  13. Xbox 1?

It seems to happen randomly. It can happen anywhere. I think someone here knew the basic reason. Something to do with swords, was it? I'm not sure.

On 360, you get this by legitimately getting to Footlight by train and then going to the GG machine. Instant death in a legitimately opened section of the map. Derp. Still not fixed.

Ok guys so I just ran another game. This time I was Jackie "Fucking" Vincent once again. When I first started up the game I did my thing and headed to Footlight to get Jugg. I hit the box once while in the process and got the RayGun. Round 3.

I proceeded to ride the Tram & get my 3 Symbols. I noted these and stopped in the Waterfront District. I opened everything here while leaving the Junction & Beast stairs closed. While here I decided, I'm going to go do this new "Noire" E.E. Now my screen is permanently Black & White. Round 4.

I left the Waterfront and headed towards the Canal District. Here I collected my 3rd Fuse as well as my 3rd Shield part. Built my shield at this workbench. Headed towards the Rift.

Now by this time I've gotten all the parts for the Rituals as well as the Fuse Box. The following Round was a Parasite Round. So Instead of just killing them all immediately, I turned into the "Beast" and consumed a few. Opened up the rest of the Rift area excluding the Sword Chamber.

Then I decided I'm going to go ahead and do the Rituals. So I did. However I didn't pick up any of the Worms. I left them. I also completed all 4. Went back to the Rift and ended the Round.

Now I just ran through the next few Rounds until the "Elemental" Round. Once this Round occurred I Turned into the "Beast" consumed a few, and opened the Sword Chamber. Grabbed the Egg and held onto it.

The next phase of Rounds I summoned the Civil Protector in every District getting kills there the entire Round. Once this was completed, I went back into the Rift for the 3rd "Elemental" Round. This is the one where the Margwa Spawns in.

This is when I began to collect the parts for the Apothicon Servant. I collected the Heart from this Margwa. I then started opening all the Pods to acquire the "Margwa Tail". I hadn't touched a Pod until this point.

I also collected all the Worms and placed them in the Pedestals. I did not activate PaP. I gathered the Worms In this particular order. The same in which I completed the "Rituals" where I got the *Ding*  all 4x, Footlight, Junction/Rift, Canals, & Waterfront.

I finally got the Xenomatter and built the Apohicon Servant on Round 24-25. Beginning of a Parasite/Elemental Round. This is when I activated PaP. The following Round Filled the Apothicon Egg. I also activated the Civil Protector in each district once again.

Once completed I traded out the A.S. for the Vesper. I placed the Egg & grabbed my Sword. I immediately killed with it.

I ran some more Rounds, doing Various differentt things. Not of any importance. Anyhow I had accumulated around 150,000pts. Well I spent roughly 120,000 on the box and never did get it back.

Unfortunately I ended up dying, and didnt get to test some things. I'm about to start up another game, except this time I'm leaving it in color. I dont suggest playing with it in B&W for very long.

TL;DR A summary of the game I just played. This is now the second time I've spent well over 100,000pts, and didn't get the A.S. back.

We're getting close boyyyys were getting close.

    Great job striving!

What exactly are you doing to get a ding?

I got a ding yesterday, but i had no idea what for.

    --

I wanted you to hear this: before opening pap the trap chains are quiet, once pap is open, they rattle loudly. Surely a clue. But for upgrading traps, out something more?

Edit: you must open pap and have the egg, in either order, to get the chains to rattle.

According to a reddit poster who searched the files, there is a voice cue and rumbling involved with Traps. I raced around to turn them all on at once, and i got a voice cue as i pulled the last chain. The round just ended, Jessica said this quote that i didn't catch fully, then said her usual end of round quote.

The quote sounded like 'that's a real honeypot...i like it'. But i may be way off.

It was the first meatball round, and the traps actually killed them all as i ran around, so i don't know which triggered it:

    All traps in one round.

Kills at each in one round.

    All on at once.

I didn't notice any game change, but was focused on another hunt at the time.

I'm not 100% familiar with all Jessica quotes, but it sounded new to me.

    Reproduction attempts underway.

There is a slight chance, in my opinion, that this could be AS related in that you can't activate the Subway Trap until the PaP room is open. There may be a reason, or it may be that there was no good spot to stick a trap, so they had to make it wait for that hole to be open. So I'm up in the air on how connected this is to our AS upgrade search or whether it's just a matter of design convenience.

I did some checking. I believe that the quote that i heard was just a 'chain pull' quote which i haven't heard much of. She only said one quote, on the last pull, but, playing as Nero, he said something on 2 of the pulls, but not the last. So i think i got duped by Jessica's quote.

    ----

However, i did notice this: the chains are fairly quiet until you open the PaP room. Then the chains begin to rattle very loudly.

I'd say 80% chance that is an audio cue to let us know that we need to do something with them, 20% chance of just another glitch.

Could someone listen for this on xbone? I did a bunch of stuff with the traps, i got a ding at one point in the game, but i could not say for sure what it was for.

Traps killed to about 45, then became mostly useless, so i think that's the normal strength still.

Edit: i found that just opening the pap room didn't start the rattling, you must also take the egg from subway, then the chains start to rattle. Or, in reverse, you can get the egg and then open PaP area to get the rattle.

I had 360 version for one week before I "Pack a Punched" Bo3 .  360 is missing a bunch od marquis Text,  you dont even have the "premier Nov. 6"  to the left of escape from the tomb,  and on 360 I tried beast mode exploring on top of train station in footlight and couldnt get up there, but i can on Xbone. Still no reason to think that your really missing anything exept better graphics...much much better. That is until more maps keep coming out and  360 is stuck with chapter 1.

I hope you make it to Xbone, if you do add me.

Ha ha. But it's real easy to see around the map!

Stamin Up has no Jingle still. Candy store has no name. Attachments are still glitched.

Lots of little stuff. We finally got leaderboards, and a whole bunch more voice scripts (and incorrect sounds added to attachment menus, oops). So that's a plus, i guess.

  18. Edit: This glitch just happened on 40 by coincidence. It has since happened on 53 and is clearly tied to Civil Protector revives. The zombies lose the ability to path to you.

    -------------

    Original post>>>

    Point of interest.

I doubt that this is related to the WW, so rather than continue this on that thread, i wanted to leave it here as a point of interest.

Red circles have a 40 in the middle. After trying to get PaP'd gun kills at them (since they light up after PaP), round 40 came and all of the zombies stayed in their spawn. Meatballs, flyers, mawgra could attack, but not regular zombies.

I have not seen this as a glitch. I have not heard of this at all in any conversations about the game or it's myriad glitches.

Red 40 in circles. Zombies run away from me on round 40. I haven't had a chance to even try to replicate it, due to time constraints.

    It's deliberate, but what for?

    /edit: nope, it's a glitch.

Using the now known new language from the dlc preview we can discover what the 4 names to the apothican servant really says.

The only problem is that all the names are still not shown. But a fair bit are. As you can see in the picture below it says extended carving (hints, carvings, etc.) This means that a couple of symbols and words are still not shown. So when I type unknown, that means that it is probably a symbol not shown yet.

Or it means that the name is just cut down in the name of the gun. Example (Kor-maroth) can be extended into (Koroth-Margwa)

    Normal In-game names not upgraded.

    1. Kor-Maroth

    2. Mar-Astagua

    3. Nar-Ullaqua

    4. Lor-Zarozzor

    Not Upgraded Translated

    1. Elemental-Margwa

    2. Margwa-Spend

    3. Id Gun-Consume

    4. Survive-Transform

Now, although this can be a bit messy of a translation. If we think about it, some of it makes sense. Such as 3. It means, using the Apothicon Servant, and getting kills with it. And the thing is, we already know this. After around 10 kills with this name of the gun. The you get the voice saying whatever it says. Now with 2. I think you have to kill a margwa and then spen a certain amount of points. But remember this is just speculation. Now onto the upgraded names.

    Normal In-game names upgraded.

    1. Kor-Maroth-Arbgwaoth

    2. Mar-Astagua-Arbgwaoth

    3. Nar-Ullaqua-Arbgwaoth

    4. Lor-Zarozzor-Arbgwaoth

    Upgraded Translated

    1. Elemental-Margwa-Powerup

    2. Margwa-Spend-Powerup

    3. Id Gun-Consume-Powerup

    4. Survive-Transform-Powerup

Ok, I still dont get it. But this is everything translated with the new apothican language. Remember, some of the words are cut off in that screen so things like Mar may not mean Margwa. But I am just using what I have.

    Untitled.png

    Excellent!

But, if you think about it, these names aren't different steps for each gun, but between the 4 of them, they describe the upgrade if taken in the right order. They tell you what causes the audio cues. Or at least seem to according to the code.

Elemental-Mawgra = elemental is meatball/flyer for Xenomatter, Mawgra for Heart, pod-given Mawgra tentacle. -Build the AS.

Id gun- consume: get like 10 AS kills. I've heard it must be as a Mawgra spawns(?). -Get kills with it.

Mawgra- Spend: unclear: trade it with the box? With a Mawgra in play or after killing a mawgra? -?

Survive- Transform: survive without it, while it does the cocoon/junction/robot/time function theoretical final step as hinted in the code. -survive (move through rounds), while the gun transforms by robot kills (?) In junction.

And Power Up on the end simply means it is the (name name) upgraded.

I feel confident on this after all the reading i did last night, but, I'm a human and therefore, have infinite human stupidity as Einstein says.

Hey CODZ, i love you guys and this oft-dead forum. Lots of fun and ideas and good info.

I made a 'bad cods' comment that led to a poster teasing me and i had some fun with it. Sadly, some thought i was rude or whatever, and that was never meant. Arguing on the webs is silly and pointless, i tried to delete my posts, but the damage was done.

I never intended to hurt feelings or be rude. At no point did i take it to heart, so nobody has offended me, and i hope nobody holds a grudge against me for the things that i said.

I sincerely apologize to the vocal minority, I understand that people get excited about their opinions, and i do too! I find a little argument enjoyable and engaging, and am sad that i actually seem to have hurt peoples' feelings.

All CODs are turds, and here we were arguing over which was fresher or had less maggots...too funny.

Anyways, apologies and as always: happy gaming friendos!
