Master pod? I heard of a blue pod before, but a master one?

Yes. In the code, besides regular pods, besides cocoons, there are 'pods' referenced.

I've seen them force spawned. About 48(?) that spawn around Ritual locations that look similar to 'hives' from extinction, but half the size of a player. Then, one 'master pod' that spawns in RR. It spawns in front of that bay window by the RR Altar.

It looks large enough and oddly shaped enough to hold the AS mark 2. It looks like an oblong, translucent bubble.

Also, the code talks of spawning the second ID Gun (AS) parts, so we seem to ditch the original at some point. And the second AS has a graphic waiting under the map. It exists, whether or not obtainable.

Of course, everything in this post may have been scrapped.

  2. For the record:

The dots don't exist on 360.

There are dots inside if you lay down and look in.

Other lamps there have them inside, iirc (going from memory. Again, it's not on 360 for me to check).

I assumed when I first saw this that it was involved in the 'master pod' script, that probably doesn't exist in game.

If they pulled the 'master pod' idea, then put out 360 version, that would explain why there is no 360 dots.

For another take: maybe it is a xbonly easter egg, like the microphone EE.

  3. Short version: Fliers light up before they shoot.

    ----

I like to read myriad words version:

Parasite...wasps (why do they have both of these names in the code?)...the flyers, call them what you will, light up before they shoot. They are turned off after they've shot, then flicker, then come on full brightness before they shoot again.

It's obvious, yet i never really noticed, so I'm pointing it out for my oblivious peers.

    ??????

Also, every fifth flyer shot or so sounds like coins.

Apparently, shooting the statues with an upgraded xm-53 does as well.

  4. Seems like a bug. Did this happen the round that the other player left? That would make the most sense.

I've got him stuck in 'purple ball' mode while he was teleporting a few times.

It is a glitchy game, like every other cod.

That being said, if it keeps happening for a specific reason, let us know.

  5. Yeah, i feel there is something yet to be found. We still have the head counter.

How can nobody get the head counter to zero? I either forget by the time i get the reborn sword, or i die before it gets made.

I think that's today's goal. If i have time, I'll glitch that stupid sword if i have to.

ok thanks, I haven't read much about them yet, does anyone know when they appear in the game first?

2nd question: do you guys just start a game and do everything possible, and then look for EE steps or cocoons, etc?...i always exhaust every thing else before looking, usually around round 25. that way, if there is a step that needs to be done first, it will most likely be done at that point., everything but killing the shadow man (solo), still haven't done that every game. do you guys kill him each time before looking more?

Q1: The cocoon step is the step that is either locked out of the game, or unresolved in how to spawn it. Images of it have been force-spawned through memory editing only (modding).

Q2: Personally, i attack it scientifically. I set my mind beforehand to certain tasks or theories, then try to devote my energy to looking into every possible aspect of that theory. Often to the detriment of long games.

Theoretically, the code shows that the AS upgrade process, like the other upgrades, exists independently from the Main Quest. Therefore, i do not kill the shadowman usually while searching. But, that will also be attacked using the scientific method eventually.

    -----

Example: last night was a "keeper" theme; i tried feeding keepers to the AS at the Altars, and the Subway keepers to the pap Altar. So, no subway/swords until the AS was built.

I was also keeping in mind the purple JU symbol on the Black Lace altar (and received a new 'completion' sound that i have never heard): trying something different in each game by that Altar.

One game soon, I'll glitch for the eternal sword, just to see what the head counter does if it hits zero.

So, I'll have one or more ideas that i can work on during any given game. I then play several games for all possible variables, then move on to another idea, or set of ideas that i can combine in one game.

  7. Hey Ragdoll,

I've got a conundrum with a possible solution that you may be able to answer.

Doing the rituals, with the same character, in the same order, and still the worms pull from inventory to the pap room in different orders despite it being the same character and done in the same order as previous games.

So why the mystery worm placement order?

Here my question: you say that you've seen the 'worms with key' graphic in the districts? Can they be seen in game?

If so, does the key in the picture, point to a different worm, in each picture, in each district?

If so, that is telling us where to put each worm in the pap room.

This is just a guess, but there has to be something dictating why the worms come out of inventory in various orders when we are keeping the character, ritual, and placement order the same.

Please check these worm pictures if possible.

Please explain how/where to see them in game, if possible.

    Thanks, and happy gaming!

  8. New sound: using the AS, doing the Footlight hairpiece ritual, i was trying to suck up as many as i could by the Altar and i got a loud sound, similar to the Devil-O Trip Mine upgrade, but a little different.

I was trying to get each ritual piece's keepers into each ritual and the pap keepers in the pap ritual and kill them en masse.

Sadly, i forgot to open the Black Lace and lost a couple keepers as i beasted it open, after already grabbing the hairpiece.

    ---

Remember, the Footlight altar has the purple J-like symbols on it in 360 land.

There was no reason for this odd noise that i could see, but it was loud, obvious and sounded like a 'completion' sound. I only used the AS during the ritual.

I looked around, but did not see any changes, but this seems important.

    -----------

Also, on Worm Theory: i was Jackie V again, i did the rituals in the inventory order (canal, footlight, Nero's, waterfront) again, but this time, the worms were pulled from inventory in a completely different manner as i set then in 'the sacred place'.

As usual, i started with altar-right front worm, but it took Floyd's worm, instead of Jackie's worm.

So my character was the same, the order of rituals was the same, but the worms were taken from inventory in a different order.

    I have an idea...

  9. Okay. I've done some 'research'.

Every Devil-O cart Trip Mine upgrade makes this effect. If you are in the effect, near the cart, you cannot see it from inside. If you back away as it happens, you can see as you cross through the effect, it appears dull whitish up close. From further away, you can more clearly see the effect. If there is a bunch of stuff going on, like a new round or margwa there, the effect sometimes delays.

Molly's Cream Cakes don't give this effect. I will test further, but have not seen it. *after further testing, MCC does, in fact, have the light as well.

Also, it seems the box lightning was changed in an update, and the box lightning is always stunted now. Not tied to the D-O cart effect.

I took a look on WaW today, but on Xbox 360 it didn't updated (yet).

Or maybe it updated while I was playing black ops, however, i'm not sure if that's possible.

No. It should happen when you start the game.

I'm 360e, disk version of WaW, installed to HDD, (for comparisons).

Also, I've played within the previous week of this update, so it wasn't something long overlooked, waiting for me to put in WAW, it was definitely less than a week between playing and then getting an update.

    Odd.

My best guess would be something to do with bo3 recognizing older game stats for some minor unlock in bo3.

If i get the visual glitch again, i will snap a picture.

See I was thinking this exact same thing, so of coarse I had to test it out. What I have found is I don't even need the "Rift Portals" to be open to hear it. Furthermore, I tend to hear it best on the opposite path in the Canal District. The side with the Devil-O-Doughnut Carts.

It's really weird to be honest, it'll seem as if I'm actually getting close to it, then all of a sudden it seems to go to the opposite end. Have you heard this same exact sound in either the "Footlight" or "Waterfront" Districts respectively. I just recently began to hear it in the "Footlight" District.

Is it the Tram by chance? Maybe it hums. That would explain the location possibly.

I tend to ride it there, taking Waterfront>Footlight>Canal route for symbols. Plus, it keeps me from casually cheating out of the map for a few seconds here and there.

Meanwhile my highest round on solo is only 44, but that game was only slightly over 2 and a half hours.

Going to go for a round 70+ solo game once I have the time. Does anyone know if you are able to slide under the chain traps when they're active?

I've died on round 44 several times when i first played. Round 44 again? Ha. It's cursed.

    -

You can slide through active traps, currently with very, very little damage. You can just keep going back and forth through it.

    -

The 360 gets a little jittery, so i haven't really strived for high rounds.

My best is still 59 solo. Mr. Protector had to pick me up like 4 times on 1 round, so i guess that I'll have to do better.

Oh, I didn't know about the stuff in the cutscenes and the map, make now more sense.

I don't understand your sentence "The others ? You've got something."

Oh, I also didn't know, how the camera plays a role in that ?

For all, I have make some mistakes, I edit the post you should review it now.

I meant that the other things you described (other than furniture) may be important.

I don't know how, or if, the camera plays a role.

I was simply trying to be supportive of your ideas, to encourage you.

    Happy hunting.

    ------

Edit: also, nice idea on W for weasel, that makes sense with the other motd easter eggs.

I always assumed it was an upside down M for maxis.

I've been thinking that that "W" guy was interactable, but he may just be a static easter egg.

  14. So maybe it's always there, but we rarely look at the right moment.

    Why was it yellow once?

Why does it sometimes look like the box lightning, while sometimes the internal effects are outside?

Why does it stunt the ?box light?

    Connections? Or glitches?

    These are rhetorical for now.

(Hey, I've got screen cap on this pos phone). Ha.

Top picture: feed zornash transform xxx. Which she clearly guesses "feed egg transform sword". The symbols for zor/na/ash are all there, the (sh or ash) symbol is a little mushed into the (na) symbol, but it's there.

Top pic, last word: contains 'ast' 'na' 'arb'. Astanarb? Anarbast? Arbanast? Na can be An.

    ------

Bottom picture: the symbol to the left of "servant" is upside down but spells: zor•na•???.

In the center of the cthulu statue is a different zor•na•??? symbol also. Should be viewable in the Apothicon and Keeper language thread.

    -----

Thanks, of course, to Glitching Queen for the stills of her video. Much appreciated.

  16. Zornash and you, a primer.

This has been hashed out, but i see that it isn't common knowledge, so let's set this straight.

Gwanash, or Robot, is not zornash. It never was, and never will be. Just stop with that.

Gwanash and it's pictogram parts are known and spelled out.

Zor and the symbol representing it are well known and not in gwanash.

The word Altar is cut off, but shows "zorna...".

The exact spelling of "zornash" appears as the second symbol on the base of the sword holder on xbone (not 360). Picture in post 2.

Zor/na/ash are the 3 symbols that make up the word.

    ------

Zornash appears in an AS upgrade cue: zornash, na'orruja, zornash.

And in the upgrade complete: Akzorror zornash.

    So it is important.

    -------

    So it may mean Altar.

Taken from the context of the Sword holder, i can't be sure. But 1 or 2 of the other words were known.

So, just looking at the sword holder and knowing that it is there means that it may mean:

Keeper, altar, egg, sword, cthulu statue, red circle, ovum, ...?

    But never Robot.

    ------

    Happy gaming!

  17. Interesting.

I've killed keepers with the ww and gotten a quote in the past. Sadly, i can't confirm the specific quote because i wasn't familiar with them at the time.

I actually pointed it out and suggested that keepers may be a resource, not just a pesky hint that someone is trying to stop you.

I suggested yesterday that we bring each group to a ritual location and transmogrify them, then bring the last group to the pap ritual, but maybe we need to kill them with the ww.

Funny: bks on reddit were freaking out at the suggestion that the ww might need to be built before pap. "Ermagard, I'll chuck a freaker if i can't pap by round 5, even though it isn't necessary until round 30 something"!

Oh Timmy player types, we all hate you.

  18. Did you look for the master pod in RR? Ha.

    -----

I put this in the t virus thread, instead of here. Oops.

Mystery box lighting on Devil-O carts: i got this on junction and canal yesterday, by doing the trip mine upgrade and running to the red circle.

I couldn't see on Waterfront (the anvil blocks the view), and got forced out of Footlight at the start of the round and only could run back towards junction, so i didn't check that one.

But i got 2 to give the mystery lights, and again the ?Box lightning was stunted up close (but far away, the box lightning looked normal).

  19. 1 hour ago, Nightmare Voyager said:

People keep saying that XD, it shows how quick we are to dismiss stuff in the community.

Yeah. By the time i became a forum dweller, i never thought to mention it. The internet always seems to be one step ahead, so i figured that if i knew it, it was common knowledge. :)

    ----------------

    More on Devil-O mystery lights:

I couldn't see from Waterfront red circle after the upgrade, and at Footlight i barely got out of that corner alive, heading back to junction was my only avenue of escape.

However, both Junction and Canal Devil-O carts gave me the blue box light with distorted lightning when i did the upgrade and then went to near the red circle.

It's possible that the red circle isn't necessary, that it is just a delayed effect that coincidentally happens as i get a little farther away, but it seems linked to being near the red circle.

More testing needed, but i clearly got it at 2 locations right after each other.

    Both done before round 6.

Again the ?box lightning was stunted up close. From across the map, the lightning reached the sky like normal until you got near the ?box.
