  1. Ghosts bot games. While not as many options as bo2 had, there are still some custom bot games to play. I use 'mixed' difficulty, set to taste. --- [Pariah]: set; unlimited time, unlimited score, 1 life. You versus 11 bots; they want you dead, can you survive? Usually friendly fire on for realism. [butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid] Same as above, only with a friend; 2-10. [Escapee] solo game (could be 2 player). Pariah variant. Just like Pariah, but Scavenger, Gambler, and Extra Lethal are banned, no killstreaks, no field orders. You have specific start classes; Novice: combat/gold knife, throwing knife, magnum (tac knife or akimbo), any nonbanned perks. Amateur: combat/gold knife, throwing knife, any nonbanned perks. Regular: combat/gold knife, any nonbanned perks. Pro: combat/gold knife, no perks. The idea is that you just escaped, you can only use what you have or can take from fallen enemies. Survive the onslaught. --- [Eradicate] set unlimited time, unlimited score, 9 lives. 6 versus 6 until 1 team is eradicated. It's fun having the game wind down as the players run out. More realistic than tdm. [skirmish] Same as above, but only 1 life each. 2 small bands try to secure the same area, but only one can win. --- Always fun for once I'm too tired for human opponents or the internet is down/usurped. Happy gaming friends!
  2. Squad Reinforce. As you may or may not have noticed, reinforce isn't available in squads. You can go to multiplayer> private (or local) and set up reinforce. You can choose number of bots, difficulty. As well as some other changes (i like to make 8 round games). But the bots will be random. Here is the pertinent bit: i like to choose what my team bots use in the game and this cannot be done in multiplayer; it will generate random team bots. So, to build your own squad and play a 12 player variant, do this: You must have at least the May update that added Reinforce, other than that, you don't even need to be on xbox live. Go to mp> local (or private). Choose Reinforce, then hit X to save 'custom recipe' even though you didn't change anything. Head to Squads> local (this option is only available offline). Go to game set up> mode> my modes and choose Reinforce. Then make up your offline Squad the way you want. Notes: all bots will rush. Normally, in tdm and domination (i think), the lmg bots will camp. This is not so in Reinforce, so give them rush classes. It will be 6 versus 6, no way to adjust that. It will be regular difficulty. There is a difficulty option that only seems to adjust the enemy strength, not your bots, so if the game is too easy, adjust it up. With 6 players the Game tends to last longer as flags keep getting taken. Adjust killstreaks accordingly. Probably nobody cares, but that's just a little option for my fellow bot-lovers.

    Have some class.

Some of my Reinforce variations: [Drone]: Ripper/grip/rapid fire Ied Marathon, dead silence, focus, blast shield, extra lethal. Specialist: ready up, resilience, on the go. Bonus: sleight of hand, agility, scavenger, sitrep. For smaller maps, switch focus/sleight of hand. --- [Heavy smoker]: Gold knife (regular will do). Kastet C4 Smoke Marathon, dead silence, recon, resilience, extra tactical, extra lethal. Specialist: gambler, strong arm, on the go. Bonus: agility, sitrep, tac resist, blast shield. If smoke isn't working out for you, try thermobaric or motion sensor. Thermobaric: good for clearing explosives on flags and detecting hidden enemies (use with recon for best results). Motion sensor: in areas that are commonly traveled near flags, or for disorienting players at a flag; when it goes off they are temporarily blinded/disoriented, perfect time to take them out. [Trailblazer variant]: Shield/radar (or knife) Kastet C4 Thermobaric Strong-arm, dead silence, recon, sitrep, extra tactical, extra lethal. Specialist: gambler, resilience, on the go. Bonus: agility, marathon, tac resist, blast shield. --- [Captwhore]: Gold knife (or regular). Kastet IED Agility, marathon, dead silence, blast shield, extra lethal. Specialist: recon, resilience, on the go. Bonus: ready up, sleight of hand, dead eye. Note: it is unlikely to get the specialist bonus. The first few cheap perks are really what you get in this mode. Assault killstreaks currently die when you do, making them pointless. Alternately, one could use Support killstreaks: ammo crate, ballistic vest, squad mate. Then, late game when last man alive, call in the squad mate to help take a flag, call in the ammo crate to upgrade his weapon, and ballistic vests for all; you, bot, freshly spawned teammates. These are just some variations, the gold pdw or a pistol secondary might serve you better. You may prefer different explosives that the ones that i listed. --- [Look at me, I'm ten-p] Gold knife Gold pdw/tac knife C4 Smoke Marathon, agility, dead silence, extra lethal, extra tactical. Specialist: resilience, on the go, gambler. Bonus: sleight of hand, scavenger, focus, blast shield. Enjoy!

    Have some class.

[True Sniper]: this is for lurking somewhere unseen. This has pulled me in my highest kdr games. I'm now 10th prestige, so I use the gold pdw/tac knife instead of the p226. Vks (silenced)/armor piercing/thermal sight. P226 silenced (for movement rate). Blind eye, incog, off the grid, focus. The idea is to not be seen; no tacticals/ieds to give away your position. Hide in a bush or up a tree or lying in the grass. Assault killstreaks: sentry gun (the only thing that can give your position away), hind, Loki.

    Have some class.

Hey folks. Just making a thread to post classes in. They can be the best, the worst, niche classes or whatever. As always, post yours and a description of it (game type, reason for use). Of the player types, I'm a Johnie (the tinkerer), so love making stuff, thinking up stuff. Other types: Timmy, loves big effects, guns. Spike, must win at all costs. Domination class [Heartless]: long life explosives class; for explosives, you can spend 8 of your available point slots on basically 4 kills (if that) [kastet, ied, danger close, extra lethal]. This kind of sucks. This class is meant to help you move on after your explosives are gone. Honey badger (silenced)/grip/ 3 burst. Kastet IED (c4) Recon, extra lethal, danger close, hardline. Specialist: focus (at 2), ready up (4), (empty). Specialist bonus (7): sleight of hand, on the go, scavenger, resilience, blast shield. The idea is to use explosives early to get your specialist perks. The badger; free silencer, 3 burst conserves ammo until the SB can be obtained for scavenger. Usually kills in 1 burst. Kastet: most reliable of the launchers in my opinion. Ied: can be whatever. C4 may be best in Domination. Start perks: for the explosives class (recon, dc, el) and to get the gun class quicker (hardline). Specialist: all about turning into a gun class for the long run. Trade empty kastet for ground gun or complete field orders for replenishment, if applicable. I suggest Domination for this class as the explosives are for flag holding and the number of possible kills make the class viable in the long run. Enjoy.

    Reinforce Game Mode

When i thought of it, the 'of course, duh' factor was high, like this should have been way obvious. But i guess that is due to the mindset that the Specialist is about the Specialist (7-8 kill) bonus, whereas in this, it's about those first few perks, so it took a paradigm shift to think about it correctly. Why get 3 'points' for a nearly useless sat com? 2 points for a perk that actually helps sounds better. Or, for the same 3 points, i can get a 2 point perk added. I want to test gambler; i want to make sure that earning it would give me a perk next life. So 1 kill, 2 captures to get Gambler, then make sure that i spawn with one next life. If that works, that's not a bad little treat./thinking out loud. Test results: you get the bonus perk the same time that you unlock Gambler. I always assumed that the bonus perk came next life. I'm glad that i tested that.

On the subject of killstreaks in reinforce, Specialist isn't a bad choice. Put some cheap perks on for little rewards as you go. On the go? Recon? Resistance...?
  8. Fun tidbit for those who can't get their mind out of the gutter: Use Overkill, equip knife, gold knife as your 2 primaries. Run around tapping Y for lulz. (edit: don't use Reflex or it will not 'work' properly). You have to see it for yourself. I predict it will be the new killcam thing to do...
  9. Added new stuff to Stonehaven worth checking out. Edit: also found something really special on Sovereign. And some forgotten bits on Tremor. Including a way up top by the western ladder. All added to first post.

    Reinforce Game Mode

Bad teammate: the enemy team was dead but held 2 flags, so the timer is counting down. One guy left on my team...camping. Yeah. Another Rambo: game goes 7 rounds/overtime. He was almost always last guy alive, so kudos for that, but at the end of 7 rounds he had zero captures. He kept trying to take all of the enemies out by himself and failing. Random: a round can go on for minutes, but if i call in an f.o. C.p., the game ends instantly. We could hold only one flag, but somehow my team will take 2 while I'm waiting for that helicopter. Every. Single. Time.
  11. The thermobaric was the only lethal tactical; it takes half of your life in core (or finishes you off if half dead). It was just reduced in hc, if that's what you mean. Now it only does half of your life in hc mode.

Yeah, i imagine those sights will appear as soon as i try to use smoke...
  13. Disclaimer: the c4 works fine in this game. IEDs need a major buff, as do the thrown grenades. The cluster bomb just needs a small range buff too. Hey iw, you guys aren't too good on grenade balance, so i will try to help you understand your own game. Right now, your Lethals suck. They either need to stay like this and be scavengeable, or be buffed to the point that they are useable. Ironically, the Throwing Knife is the only lethal that is actually lethal and you let that one be scavenged. Which, frankly, is weird. I will use ied, but any grenade could be in this scenario; with no scavenging, here is how it should work. Note that field orders are not reliable replenishment obviously, this coming from someone who gets them frequently. Ied vs player: player is dead always. 1 point slot nonreplenishable grenade kills player with no protection. This is it's one job (duh). No dancing to survive somehow (remove that stupid crap). You had one job! Ied vs blast shield: player survives. 2 point slot perk wins over 1 point slot grenade. Danger close ied vs player: player dead if even slightly damaged. 4! Point perk + nonreplenishable grenade destroys unprotected player, every time, of course. This shouldn't have needed explanation. DC ied vs BS player: player dead always unless at edge of blast. 4! Point perk + nonreplenishable grenade trumps 2 point perk, always. See? It's not too hard to understand. So, now that you've been educated, either add scavenging for grenades or properly balance them. You may not feel shame at how badly you've done grenades, but we're all ashamed of you. So do something about it rather than give creedence to all the 'ghosts sucks' threads.

Game wise: Anyone using smoke? I've barely seen it used in this game due to trackers/thermals, but I've hardly seen any of those in reinforce. Mostly knives, iron sights, and rds. I think that I'm giving it a try today. I already bought it for this soldier for some reason. Extra tactical gives you a second. I hate to give up the kill potential of ied, but they are so nerfed that they are really more of a warning system, rather than a lethal grenade.

    Reinforce Game Mode

No. That's fine, warranted, and i fill my own threads with that same crap. In other words (RAGE!): I hear ya. Besides encountering that yesterday as well, kept getting the 'I'm last alive, I'm not going to capture a flag, I'm gonna kill the whole other team by my beast self!' (fails). They would literally run past two flags, usually died, but occasionally tried to take a flag a little too late after failing to Rambo the other team to death. (to be fair, i did this once myself, though it was more circumstantial; heading to the flag, i got in a couple battles that i could have avoided, and just got to the flag too late). Yeah, i love watching other people fail to play the game/sarcasm.

    Reinforce Game Mode

I set a sentry at a flag, died, then they took the flag quickly, so i assume that it died like an ims. But they could be running Blind Eye as I couldn't see what happened. The way the game is set up makes high killstreaks rare, i think that I've only pulled in 3 sentries so far. Now that I've switched to knife/kastet, my kills went down, I've been a capture-whore.
  17. Maps now show the flag locations. Reinforce, flooded, help take A, watch the bar go up, turn blue. I don't get credit for it. Run to B, take it, it counts. I leave towards A, the game says 'taking b', which i just took and got credit for. So i look at it, it is white again. So i take it again and again get credit for it again. Another game: we have c, they have b, a is white. They take c. I jump on b immediately and almost have it. Game ends, we lose. It says 'score limit reached' which means they have all 3. But they didn't. A was white when the game ended and i was taking b and my whole team was alive. Weird. I had the frenemies glitch twice, i even took pictures that I'm sure are too large for this site. I tried to figure out how to small them, but i couldn't. Remember, the game ends at 4 points. But the score is 1150 on the enemy team, making the tan score-bar stretch across the screen. I was not listed in the upper right list of people in the game, yet was being featured in round ending killcams. I'm sure that i was reported for cheating... And lost a game or two while taking a flag, which shouldn't happen.

An i mistaken, or are killstreaks exploding when you die? They should last until the round ends, right? They shouldn't go away because i died... Edit: random win story; playing Sovereign. I get paired with 1 random, the other team is 4 people from start. We go 3-0, the 4 man team comes back to 3-3, overtime. Fighting at b, trying to take it to get my random buddy back, i am really hurt, drop down below, run around to the other ladder and an enemy drops past me. I 180° stab him (sens 19) for the win, not knowing he was also last alive. That felt good. The final round, the game added another teammate who never got to play, just lurked while we won.
  19. I'll be happy with either long or infinite. Probably long would be best. Infinite tend to be like private and not count (squad points, kdr, unlocks). Really long would still count, or at least that's how they tend to be set up. Camping bots in bo2, we would set it at 250-300, which gave plenty of time to get our fill of killstreaks and be ready for a map change. Sadly, ghosts only goes to 150 in private. Bo2 could go to 1000. You could always set it to infinite or 30 minutes.

In tdm, if the randies on my team are good, i barely get kills; everyone's dead by the time i get there. I spend my game chasing spawn flips. If my team randies are poop, the team will lose, but i will do fantastically. That's what is cool about reinforce: i actually want good teammates.
  21. It was called 'free mode' in gta.

@Delta, coordinated team? This is cod! Ha. But yeah, when i played with 11 bots to check out the game mode, the veteran bots play like that. Mostly I was in random versus random games online where strategy and coordination are sins. @ way, you would probably get me too: i rage quit games like a teenage gets horny. I try not to and have gotten better. I play real life games extremely fair, so i hate getting ripped off, it goes against my very core being to cheat or be cheated. So when the game f's up, i often feel much better leaving, rather than staying in what i consider an unfair situation. Obviously i know that what comes around goes around and have had people call me hack/cheater et cetera due to lag and cods terrible inherent lack of proper synchronicity, so obvious when one plays against bots offline; if it is that out of synch in an offline game, then imagine how bad it is with lag added. The point is that not all lag is lag, that's just an excuse for the inferior product that cod is. So, I try to better accept that this is happening to all and that i should take the diaper off and man up. So I do. Playing non kdr games like Reinforce help when I'm being a baby, because the flags don't lag as much. :)
  23. Yeah, i agree on the Stonehaven point. But i am okay with that because i play to play, not massage my precious kdr. If nobody moves on Stonehaven (I've done my share of sitting lonesome, starting down my sniper scope), i change to run and gun and make fun happen. I would best respond to what you said by saying that i am okay with the slow games too. I first played cod during waw, which is mostly giant maps. One could have a 1 on 1 from a distance without interference from others. I can always throw bo2 back in or get a game on Stikezone for a faster pace. But even on small maps, i would like more time. Using bo2 as an example (i loved it, I'm not bitching, just using an example): i join a game, 5 minutes left. Spawn, shot in back, spawn on live grenade, spawn in killstreak, spawn, shot in back. Okay, 20 seconds have passed and I'm down 4. My best bet is to leave. With a nice long 20 minute/150 kill game, i have time to recover. Time to get killstreaks and rack up a positive kdr. As is, i leave 10 games because i hate the map or 1 team is at 65+ or I join with 1 minute on the clock. I would love even endless games; join, kill until you get your fill, leave. So, I completely understand your point and agree with it, but would also love to see some more long-time games. Even a good domination game can take a while, i don't get why tdm is kept so short. There are plenty of short games like blitz, reinforce, for those who want fast and furious. I just wish there was a little more love for the 'soak in the experience' players like me to immerse in. Played zombies for up to 9 hour games. Safeguard, extinction last 30 to 60+ minutes. That's what i prefer is all. Thanks for reading/responding.

You're my shield inspiration way! I actually see these in use in Reinforce. Pp4? I think that your making that up, ha. On kdr: too many variables, game types, play styles, weapon choice, bullshit, to even care. In bo2, it was 1.5, i got tired of trying to do better, so I made a class with no primary/secondary, only stuns/Semtex and ran around getting murdered on tdm to prove a point: we won every game that i was in with that class. Every teammate had a 2 kdr at the end. I went 5-12 to 7-12 per game, but clearly made us win. So kdr is really pointless. I dragged mine down to .78 doing that. Eventually it climbed to about 1.3 (?). I have a 1.5 in ghosts. I think I'm one of the few who leaves games to ruin his kdr: (tdm) early in the day i pull 20-0 to 17-4, later i play about 12-10s, then, once I'm tired/shot/intoxicated, i start rage quiting games at 1-3 and murder my kdr/win/loss. Like derp, yeah, like a derp. Self pat-on-the-back: I just saw that my ghosts accuracy is 19.72! It used to hover in past cods around 16-17. Probably all the sniping i did in ghosts. /off topic. (fixed typos. Being a grammar Nazi to myself is stressful, given the propensity for phone keyboards (Swype) to put any word other than the one I want at the time).

I hate the campers. No offense to them and their legitimate strategy. I won almost every game that i played in and they were all randoms. Sadly, there is no leaderboards for this. As always, great thoughts from your smart brain! The 'take all 3' is a great approach. I love it on frieght (east spawn); run to B, throw an ied on it, hopefully some of my team gets A, dash for C, take it as team takes B. On prison break (by tower), grab A, run to B, throw ied by corner truck while capturing. Game over unless the team randoms really suck. PB is one of the most unbalanced spawns in every game mode. You never want to be in the north spawns. Class most used by me: Ripper grip rf Ied Ready up Slieght of hand Marathon Dead silence Resilience Extra lethal Edit: currently use; Gold Knife Kastet IED Agility Marathon Dead Silence Blast Shield Extra Lethal My banes: good sniper/marksmen, intelligent c4 use. C4/ieds can be hidden under the flag circle, nearby growth, water (like Ruins, the terraced flag). Learn spots to take flags stealthily: Flooded: take B by sitting in the rubble pile. Take the restaurant flag by crawling up the steps just far enough that you can't be seen up top. Stuff like that. Random laugh: I'm dead on Prison Break, 2 mates left. I spectate the sniper in the tower who realizes that he should grab a flag, so he jumps out of the tower...no resilience, dead. Ha. Oh, the pros and cons of being spectated. But you feel good when you swing the game with your team watching. More random thoughts: if an enemy just took a flag, often they all run from it, making it an easy retake. Explosives are expected on the flags, so sometimes mining the approaches works best. C4: good for throwing at flags being captured, good to place on a flag and then trigger when you hear theflag being taken. Good for taking out explosives on a flag. For the above reason, often it is a good idea to run over a flag to trigger the voice, but move off of it so you don't die to c4, then capture it after the c4 is blown. This depends on the other team. If nobody has used c4 in the first round, you probably won't see it after unless new people join. If you keep getting sniped in 1 round, you can expect it in all. People don't seem to change up their attacks much. I do if I clearly need to adapt, otherwise I'm usually using the same set up as well.
