  1. I would say FIVE and Shang were among the least popular because they were by far the most challenging. They both are somewhat small compared to the other maps, they mostly consist of tight spaces. FIVE's wonder weapon was all but useless in the later rounds.

Sorry but felt the need to correct what you said there. You mean it was all but useful in the later rounds. All but useless would imply that it was still good when by the time you get to 35+ it pretty much sucks.

  2. You need maps that provide a variety of strategies. Shangri-la may be difficult, but it was one of the least popular maps out there.

Good you brought that up. Shangri la is pretty hard for most zombies players and that's the map I think basically separated the tier of players. The ones that play it love the challenge and say its one of their favorite maps. Maps like ascension and CoTD people love because of the ease, and then maps like shangri la they get frustrated and quit it so quick. I play on PS3 so from personal experience I can tell you there is almost never more than 1,000 players trying to find a shangri la match, whereas on ascension there's normally 2.5k+, or CoTD 1.6k+ and even Moon at 1.4k+. There isn't even the weekend rush for shangri la, where on the weekends every map pretty much has twice the regular amount playing shangri la barely has 1200 playing on it.

Bottom line is those who love the challenge keep trying it, and those who just wanna run trains and kill zombies go "WTF no space for train? F*ck this." They appeal to different crowds. So when most people see that much space as this new map shows they go "WTF too easy. F*ck this." It's interesting the way we work. 8-)

  3. I think wee'll just have to wait and see, though at this point it seems like we should all be able to agree that we won't be seeing our main cast anytime soon. Reasons for this include:

    1) They were on the moon and blew up the earth.

    2) Richtofen (the brain of the group) is now in the MPD and in control of the zombies.

    3) Samantha is trapped inside his body.

    4) The new map seems to be in what some guys are calling Cuba or Eastern U.S. and has pics of Castro all around.

So basically it might be fair game to say we're not gonna pick up EXACTLY where we left off but they most definitely will play a role somehow. And really regarding the whole time travel thing, it allows for so much versatility in the zombies story line. Remember Maxis had the rockets launch at the end of the easter egg to destroy the world so Richtofen wouldn't be able to control those zombies. More than likely we'll be seeing entirely different people in the first map or two of BO2, or that's what I believe at least.

  4. I don't think you're wrong at all. I too feel aprehension towards the coming changes, as I did when Blops zombies started to change, I've just come to accept that I can not change what they're already doing so I just have to embrace it.

The new modes have ALOT of potential, but they could be horrible. I feel if I go into this with an open mind I'll enjoy the new experiences more, as opposed to going in with my own baggage weighing me down...

Does that make sense? It sounded much better in my head than it read in text lol.

[brains] for being civil in an internet difference of opinion

Yea I get what you're saying. Basically we can't go in expecting the same as what we already have. We asked for change and they changed certain stuff around so just keep an open mind.

  5.:facepalm::facepalm: Why do you even come on this site? All you've done since Zombies have been revealed is complain and whine about what you think possibly may not be good.

I've never been one to say this, but in your case I'll make an exception: Just play W@W since apparently you had an issue with half of Blops maps. There problem solved...

You made me feel like an asshat so [brains] to you for that. The reality of it though is completely opposite, I put myself in a position where I've settled in with black ops maps and accepted it as reality, so now change scares me. What makes it worse is that I've become a pretty decent zombies player on these maps and it's gotten to the point where I feel they're easy and any future content must be balls to the walls hard. So when I develop that mindset, when I see pics of such wide open space and here info of 4 vs 4, I feel like "Oh no...change is coming. Get it away from me!!" When the reality is that we asked for change in the first place.

I guess this is probably what pros like yeti and so on also feel, IMO. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

  6. I really hope that street isnt accesible. If it is this map is already more of a joke than moon is. I WANT HARDER MAPS!!!! I am also scared that treyarch is going to change the zombies ai to a point were it actually completely changes the gameplay. If I had a choice I would say to keep the ai exactly the same but make lots of tight spaces and just generally hard to run places. This map just doesnt look good, a map to easy isnt fun. Ascension is easy but not as easy as moon, its the perfect amount of easy. A map thats more easy than moon would probably be terrible.

    ^This.

Sadly it looks way too open, even saying that its gonna be their biggest map yet. Moon was a huge map, Ascension was a huge map, Call of the dead was a huge map. Now most people who have played zombies must know that size of a map in CoD zombies is an early indicator that it's gonna be easy. Personally yeti, my records aren't as high as yours because round 40-50 matches are where I like to stop on the leaderboards, normally finishing my games with suicides. But I have had no problem on big maps. Even putting the 4 v 4 thing into perspective, I honestly can't see what's coming next as anything different from L4D or operation raccoon city multiplayer. Not saying that we are looking at the exact same thing, but if they want to give that much open space and a versus game type, they might be changing the mechanics completely. If they do that, I'm just gonna avert my gaze at the appropriate moment and hope when I look back I'll see CoD zombies.

  7. Man that's a hard ass quiz. I got 6 months. I think the worst part of it is that I live in the city so it would be like, way hard to survive and I have a small group of friends I would definitely take with me.

Also whoever would just kill their mom before she turned is one seriously cold prick. Yes I just went there.

  8. As far as I'm concerned the only map that its hard to get a high round on (40+) in co-op is 'Five.' That map IMO is the hardest map in BO zombies, and the easiest I would say is Moon for the simple fact that the hacker makes the entire game at least a thousand times easier, then you have the wave gun and gersch bombs. Just let all the drops pass except for legit max ammos when you need them and in the later rounds whenever who has the wave gun is out of ammo, I'll kill them with my rayguns and mustang and sally or drop a gersch and hack drops.

CoTD is a pretty easy map IMO as well for the simple fact that it has so much space, unlike Shang and Five. Also the fact that you can force max ammos by gettin George to shock the zombies makes it easy too. The only problem you would have in the later rounds is if the VR-11 runs out of ammo.

Ascension you have the thunder gun and traps so basically easy mode on.

But Five, for the lack of training areas and the boxes and traps on that map are in the most annoying places, makes it really hard to get past 40 in co-op. Not to mention the broken wonderweapon that is complete fail kill.

  9. All of these ideas seem feasible :)

What I'd pay money to see as a wonder weapon:

Mustang & Sally v2 - Basically a Mustang & Sally that does infinite damage.

YESSS ^THIS!!!!! OMG YOU ALREADY NEED MAX AMMO TO REFILL IT ANYWAY AND IT CAN'T BE PACK-A-PUNCHED SO WHY NOT MAKE IT OFFICIAL1!!?? Seriously like almost everyone that knows zombies know M&S are literally the best guns you can have if someone already has the special box weapon.

  10. They will more than likely be some stuff about zombies now, maybe even a shot of a map or 2. Remember during W@W and BO they only put zombies in there as a form of minigame. Now its got its own following and is pretty big in itself. Hopefully they wont starve us of info too much. :|

  11. Best pointstreak is easily the AC-130. That thing gets Multi-kills like a boss. And doesnt nearly get shot down as fast as a pave low. Next would def be Juggernaut, for the simple fact that if you're already good enough to get a juggernaut in the match, odds are you wont be dying for a very long time. M.O.A.B because if you do get one it's gonna kill everyone on the other team lol.

I'll suggest this combo for any taker out there that wants to try getting ospreys/juggernauts:

    Attack heli

    Reaper

    osprey gunner/Juggernaut

I found this is by far, the easiest way get them.

  12. 1) First and foremost, learn 2 dropshot. That gets you out of 90% of sticky situations. 5% of said situations would involve being knifed and the other 5% is having an explosive chucked at you.

    2) Learn what perk setup works best FOR YOU. That's the key here the perks that work best for yourself. You see countless videos of bosses on youtube that say what perks work good for them. What's good for the goose, isn't good for the gander. I would advise perks such as Assassin-because this perk alone makes almost fully undetectable and I personally use it on all my classes as my first 3 perk setup. I also recommend Stalker for SMGs and Marksman for Assault Rifles, but as I said best for yourself.

    3) Run a silencer on any smg/Assault rifle you use. The attachments proficiency allows you to have 2 attachments so really this should be no problem. Attachments like red dot sight serve literally no purpose and only takes up a spot you could be using for something beneficial. I normally run silencer/extended mags on all my guns because I tend to streak a lot and stopping to pick up a new weapon every five seconds is stupid and risky.

    4) If you're not good at streaking run support killstreaks.

  13. Lol tryhard- someone who constantly puts out maximum effort in every match to achieve the highest k/d possible and if they die, you will see their heart rate and blood pressure spike to levels of 9001. They will also constantly rage if they don't get their M.O.A.Bs or all they're killstreaks in one life.

    Example:

Espada-6- kills xXxiTryHardzxXx he hears "F*CK YOU YOU MOTHERF*CKING PIECE OF SHIT!!! WHAT THE F*CK WAS THAT BULLSH*T!?!?!? GO F*CKING KILL YOURSELF YOU F*CKING FAYGET! I WAS ON A F*CKING 23 KILLSTREAK HAD ONE MORE TILL MY M.O.A.B. F*CK YOU B*TCH ASS FAYGET!!!!"

He then proceeds to leave the room and takes his entire clan with him.

As for myself I just started playing shooters and they are pretty easy with BO being my first and managing to get a 1.55 k/d by the time MW3 came out. Now i have a 2.15 in MW3 and don't really care about it anymore because making it over 2 qualifies you as being "pretty good."

  14. Ahhh, I didn't buy Ascension immediately as I was still in the stages of getting good enough at the game round my friend's house to actually buy it myself. But after some debating I bought the map pack at about lunch time, and by the time I'd finished playing that night I was convinced that would be the best £11 I would ever spend. Ever since then, every release day I sit tight and wait for 6pm to roll on so the new map pack is released on Steam, then purchase it instantly.

I never thought I'd had an ounce of gamer-nerd in me, but Zombies brings out a whole different side of me :geek:

    ^This.

Honestly I can 100% agree with this. Black ops was the first shooter game I had ever actually played and I went straight for multiplayer. When I had just started I was so horribad, I normally went like 1-20 or 2-20 so everytime I got a kill I was excited. After about a month of multiplayer I started getting good and my K/D was at 1.00. Then a buddy of mine from school told me he's a pretty good player and that he's on PS3 too(everyone else in school played 360 unfortunately) so he posed we play together. The best matches of my BO multiplayer career I played with him. Eventually got beast at MP with a 1.60 k/d but I ran blackbird/chopper/gunship every match and almost always got them. Then he said we should play zombies and the lovestory began. The first map I ever played was ascension and fell in love with the simple-complexity of it (if that makes sense to you guys). Then call of the dead came out and I jumped right into it. That map is my all time favorite for zombies. I really learned how to play well by watching Syndicate videos because he makes it look so easy, and really it isn't sometimes. Now I'm just on the edge waiting for BO2 to come out so I can jump right back into zombies.

  15. From what I've seen in this thread and many others, you all are way too excited about the prospect of zombies in real life...

This is what movies and video games do to us, we want all the unrealistic scenarios that bad. But really though it's not like we're that far off from something like this happening. OnlyShapeShifter's thread shows a lot of the ways a human mind could be "essentially" erased and leave them in a deranged/catatonic state. Doesn't help that government also have tons of secret viruses they develop for the sake of biological warfare, so who knows what they can all do. If any actual zombie outbreak did come out it would either be actual reanimated corpses where the people are dead and their bodies are only moving because the part of the brain linked to motor skills is still there or something. Or we would be looking at a "28 days later" style of rage filled, insane cannibals.

Science's darkside is genetics and biochemistry. They find all these viruses that could kill a person and engineer them so that they're a thousand times worse.
