  1. I wanna say after much analyzation there was some differences between the chairs. It's been a long time since I've read or looked into the chair debate so my memory may be fuzzy on that. And even though their may be some important details, I think both Nacht and Verruckt were early enough that Treyarch didn't have much story in mind with making those and thus any story elements from those 2 maps would be connections made in later maps. Not saying they aren't important, just that all the juicy stuff will be in SNN and beyond.

  2. Well I guess that's the end of that theory.... Damn REALLY wanted to see fluffy instead of regular dogs

We could still possibly get Fluffy as a true boss for all we know. Maybe she spawns once we link all 3 teleporters or randomly when we use a teleporter. And killing her while performing a specific task (melee only, taking no damage, etc) rewards an extra perk.

  3. In the trailer they (mainly Nikloai it seems) question his true self quite a bit, and there's no doubt they'll question his motives going forward in contrast to just blindly following him as they did in the past, even with their suspicions. I think it would be really great to see the inner turmoil with part of him feeling like he can't change who he'll become and the other part wanting to do some genuine good.

I think this will be extremely important in future maps because in the latest livestream, Jason Blundell talked a few times about how they're doing a new narrative style with the characters talking and interacting with each other when in close proximity to one another, and this plays right into that. In the ensuing carnage of what will occur in The Giant, I'm sure Ricthofen's darker side will come out as he slaughters the undead and the others will react to that, plus Ricthofen himself.

Also Mustache-tofen is a great name for him.

  4. So in the latest trailer for The Giant, we are treated to a few more quotes from all the characters including some from good ol' fashioned O4 Ricthofen (the evil one) that indicate that he will in some capacity appear a few more times in the map as he did not say them before his demise in the intro. But one quote in particular intrigues me.

"What is left of you now? Nothing!"

This quote is heard about 11 seconds into the trailer and it very clearly spoken by the now deceased Ricthofen, so how can that be? There is a chance that this is just radio messages played without the static, but because of what and how he says it, I believe he is speaking to his younger self. So somehow, be it either because of the now splintered timeline or some other supernatural means, it seems NO4 Ricthofen is now fighting for control of his mind with O4 Ricthofen.

Will this get resolved in The Giant or will it be a pivotal plot point going forward? Only time will tell on that. In the mean time what are your thoughts on this new development?

  5. They should just have a separate custom game mode altogether with the private match setting set apart from that. I still don't understand why this was removed from BO2 completely. They had like 2 "custom" settings too, and the hellhound option on only the one survival map I believe. I would very much like to see them incorporate almost completely customizable games in zombies such as dictating every weapon in the map, zombies and special boss zombies. Maybe even specifying what spawns in on every round. Possibly even character customization/selection. Make it feel somewhat like what they have in multiplayer.

  6. Anyone notice the Nazi symbols are now templar symbols?

They are the iron cross symbols.

And time does stop when Maxis and Sam are teleported, perhaps that has something to do with it. Time travel in Shangri La brought on an eclipse as I recall, so maybe the NO4 traveling here activated one too somehow. I think it's an indication of them being in a pocket universe, with teleportation being the only way out.

  7. I would argue that it's partially because I've seen a lot of people asking for certain maps back for years in every cod game. Maybe this isn't the right term for but I like to call them the "try hard" crowd. They want to be like the MLG pros and it's always the popular maps that make it into the MLG circuit and so they learn the ins and outs and everything else about said maps and want to carry that intimate knowledge of the layouts with them to future cod games. Activision and the developers probably thought they would take the opportunity to cut development time a little bit to just update older maps and maybe even put more focus on the new stuff during development.

I personally wish remakes would just be included in free updates as they are stuff we've already bought before but oh well, they gotta make a profit somehow. In spite of their games being some of the highest selling of all time.

  8. I don't particularly want to see Hijacked come back because I'm not exaggerating when I say I probably played on that map 4 times out of every 10 matches throughout the course of BO2. But from a list of BO2 maps to return I know that one will be at the very top. I want to see something like Slums return with some redesigns to incorporate the new movement system, I think that could be a really good map.

  9. This is weird he is upside down and falling away into darkness

I was very confused by this shot as well, but it may be referencing Richtofen's descent into darkness? Like @Kill_All_Monkeys said, it may be showing NO4 Richtofen can't escape his fate (since it's NO4 Richtofen in O4 Richtofen's suit). Looks like it may be in an ending cutscene possibly too.

That is old Richtofen still. He doesn't have a mustache and looks older.

I wanna say that's just a different angle form when he was standing there before NO4 Ricthofen popped a cap in his face, but I'm pretty sure he was smiling the whole time up to that point. It really seems like either the EE itself will focus on or Ricthofen will be struggling with his evil self while trying to complete the EE. SoE is all about those 4 atoning for their sins so it woud be a nice little tie to this map (should that be a recurring theme for this game) if Ricthofen struggled with the same problems more or less here.

  10. Beyond hyped right now, this just skyrocketed to the top of my list of what to play first.

And am I crazy, or did I some extra O4 Ricthofen quotes in there beyond what he said in the intro? And they bring up how NO4 Ricthofen can't escape his own darkness. Does he experience a personality split after killing his future self? What does this mean?! The potential with this story!

Apart from being a remake, how was this not the leading zombie map for BO3?! This seems extremely relevant to the story and all kinds of epic. Can't wait to see what they have in store.

  11. I wouldn't mind full digital, but they would have to drop the prices for it. That's how they should start the transition anyway, physical copies are $60 and digital are $50 (in the U.S.). I know all digital would just go back up to $60 since publishers have made it clear they want the price of games to be around $100 instead. Eliminating the costs for printing and distribution would even that out though I think, more or less.

Interesting what you say about prices in the US, here in the UK, if i look at Amazon for a physical copy of the standard game, im looking at £42, but for a digital version on the Xbone store im looking at £50 - £60. Now the only reason they do that is because they can and you're paying for the convenience of getting it without leaving your house, but it should cost less as you're not buying anything physical.

That is interesting, because here they're the same price most of the time. Sometimes the digital version is cheaper even. It's not too consistent though.

  12. I always thought there was a chance Samantha was secretly evil due to her prolonged exposure to the Aether. I think I even predicted that as the big story twist for the last map in BO3 a few months back. It's still going to be in the back of my mind as I play each new map for this game.

  13. But see reguardless of the size of the map, one should be able to pinpoint where other players are on this map, like they'd say "Hey im in the coffee shop" and they'd know where they were given there's only one coffee shop.

I'm just saying for bigger maps in general that aren't purely circular or have a clear cut path laid out (think MotD). Like I didn't need to call out where I was whenever I played Nacht with anybody.

  14. I haven't looked at any leaks yet, but based off the discussion from this thread, don't forget about how in the mp beta (and presumably the main game) the background menu would show whoever you selected as your specialist. Perhaps this is the same for which map you have chosen in zombies. Or possibly something even more interesting...

  15. It's a shame for last gen, it really is. But definitely great news for expecting better things out of the DLCs. They need to make the DLCs even more innovative and "boundary pushing" (for lack of a better term) to really sell the point that we need to all move on to current gen now. I bought my PS4 to play all the wonderful new things that current gen can play that last gen can't, and so far they have been few and far between. Hopefully that starts changing now.
