  1. Sounds interesting... perhaps this is part of the new "terrifying" zombie map feel, perhaps a motivation to not die. If you die then you get stuck in this horrible place. What if you start going in & out of 'purgatory' when you down, making it harder to find the nearest person or know when you are getting revived.

    Great find!

  2. I'd love them to redo the map Jungle, although I've got no idea how they would do that. It is what it is ;)

Studio looks amazing, a brand new take on the map, I'm looking forward to looking at the textures of the map, I did enjoy the map although if you go back into Black Ops now and play a match of 'Firing Range' you get spawn trapped :( Hopefully this will not ruin the map!

  3. My 500th post! Hopefully it's going to be a good one!

"Nevada, where the men are men, and the sheep are nervous"- I was just playing a game of NML, still no better at it than I was before & still hate it with all my Mr. Green envy  , still can't PAP anything and I can't get enough points BUT ignore my frustrations of not being able to get one of those really nice green medals (I'll do it one day ;) ), that's not what I want to look at. Below I am going to have a few different theories about the links to Nevada with the previous and the new four characters. Some will be obvious, others may not be, enjoy!

When you join NML/Moon Dempsey will say "Home Sweet Home", 'Groom Lake' was set in Nevada as it says on the sign near the teleporter.

Let's hop back to NTZ (Nuketown Zombies), you can hear Malton in the level... hmmmm, what if Dempsey and Marlton knew each other back in Nevada, Marlton must've been there for a reason (which we do not know as of yet), why is he in particular at NTZ, none of the other 'new' characters?

Is there a possibility of Marlton & Dempsey knowing each other? The jock and the nerd roles, I'd think they'd make some hilarious quotes together ;)

Time controlling logic stops me from making a definitive answer on this one but below I think I may have more ideas on Marltons' past

I want to go one step further with this crazy idea scheme, so here's a look at Marltons' past...

Richtofen also says "Hey Dempsey, I can see your house from here, it's on FIRE!" (this quote triggered this thought).

What if we have this order of events. Marlton at Nuketown (as it was in the multi-player map on Black Ops). The Nuke falls down causing the fire- nukes fired as part of the Nevada Test Site, Shooter did a great thread on this a while back summing all this up along with locations and time frames! NTZ, Nevada Test Site, Area 51 and Project Manhatten. Shooter, Tac and EJs information was made into that great thread, I HIGHLY suggest you read it! :

The Nevada Test Site was set up on 680 square mile plot established by President Harry Truman on December 18, 1950 as the main testing grounds for America's nuclear bomb testing. The site was ideal because of it's extreme isolation, made up of mainly desert and rocky terrain. Located 60 miles outside Las Vegas, it wasn't uncommon to see the mushroom cloud after a detonation from Sin City.

Since it's establishment more than 60 years ago, there have been 928 nuclear weapons tested at the facility. The last official test was performed in 1992, and nuclear bomb testing no longer exists due to the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. In it's heyday, makeshift towns and neighborhoods would even be constructed on occasion and filled with mannequins to test the power of the blast and shockwave. This can be seen in Nuketown as the town has been torn apart from the blast. It's clear that Nuketown was located on site at the NTS, but how do we know which blast it was? If we are to pinpoint a date to Nuketown, we must first determine which blast or operation was occurring at the time at the Neveda Test Site.

What if Marlton was a worker who helped test nuclear explosives, until the missile from Moon launched down and sort did its stuff.

possible time and location for Nuketown Zombies: Nevada Testing Facilty, Nevada, USA. July 1966 - June 1967

This is why he is in the bunker! To avoid the missiles, this sets the stage for NKZ. It could also explain Marlton, his connections to the story, why he's so smart and his reasoning for being in NTZ.

I want to confuse people EVEN more now  Lemme chuck 115 into the mix!

"Moon to TranZit- Maxis' Real Agenda?

A while back I did a thread looking at Maxis's real Agenda, TBH I don't trust him, if you want to read it then look at this thread:

^In that thread I look at the possibility of 115 being in the rockets that Maxis/Richtofen launched into the earth. Check it out if you haven't already!

Shooter made another nod at the idea of 115 being in the rockets that were launched:

Still not sure? While playing on Nuketown Zombies, Perk machines seem to appear out of nowhere. But they can actually be traced back to the head of the mushroom cloud, as they plummet back towards Earth. Perks-a-cola is formed from Element 115, and this could just be another nod to the fact that 115 was in the nuke.

We also know that Marlton was 'banished' from somewhere from his quotes in NTZ, check this:

    -FftjaQPHRs

So, here we go! What if Marlton WAS working as part of the Nevada testing site where the rockets that they tested had hints of 115 in them? Marlton could've found out about this element 115 and have been banished from the 'group' that were testing the stuff because he was trying to stop them.

Marlton always talks about "walking disease balls"... What if he is wary about them because he knows of the effect they have on the body? What if he too looked into 115 which is the reason he was 'banished'?

    This could link into this:

So we can conclude Element 115 was used during the Manhattan Project to develop the bomb for the Trinity Test. With a very minimal supply of 115, the blast was huge, and the test seemed to be a success. But the radiation from the element following the blast does what it does best, and reanimates some of the deceased locals in the surrounding area. This is how the Americans first became aware of "zombies".

Which could also link into how Marlton feels about zombies!

In Five's cutscene, JFK doesn't act suprised when he sees a zombie. He was already aware of the existance of zombies, from the Trinity Test.

The use of Element 115 ceased after that test, and went to other uses at the Pentagon and Area 51. But there was still one last test with Element 115, during Operation Latchkey. This is the bomb denoted at Nuketown Zombies that we discussed earlier, and thus why the crater was such a massive size. It's clear a moderate amount of 115 was used in this blast. Extended radiation was bound to occur after the blast as well.

If this is right about Marlton then he along with Samuel and Misty/Abigail, all have 'purposes' in the story, linking in with the original 4s story in some way. The only person I can't see anyone getting is Russ, he can't be trusted IMO BUT that's for another thread!

Even if the timeline of the events were wrong (if the timeline is in the present day or away from the 1960s) then this information could well still be relevant to this mysterious character we know as Marlton.

Thanks to Shooter for the thread with that information, as you could probably tell it really did help in explaining and writing this thread and I wouldn't have been able to have done it without that information!

Thanks for reading! Leave ideas/comments/anything else!

  4. I can only answer what I know, I don't have an XBOX so I cannot answer those but I could answer zombies related questions:

    4) I've never actually tested this but I'm 99% sure this doesn't count as a down as long as your press "End Game" and not down yourself to stop the game

    5) If you fall on Die Rise it will count as a down, yeah you go straight to death but when you see other players fall off the map (or get crushed by an elevator  ) there is a split second where you see the revive icon, then it goes as if they died. So it does count as a down.

    6) Not that I know of, I think it can take numerous times to get it (go down and get back up) but I don't think there is another way- someone correct me if I'm wrong :D

    Hope this helped a little!

  5. I love playing with randoms, personally that is what gives zombies its' uniqueness! You never know who you are going to get from one game to another, some games will be small and others will be huge, you can never tell which is what I LOVE about playing with randomly chosen players. Some will/won't revive, some will die etc.

It also gives a great challenge to the game, no one game is ever the same whereas if you play with friends then I can imagine it would get very same-y after a while + I don't have the time to connect to other people, I'll just hop into an online game, see what happens then stop. I'm lucky if I can get any sort of game in ATM  At least Easter holidays is coming up, I'll do some extra work then ULTIMATE ZOMBIE SLAYING WEEK! :D

  6. Richtofen = Better than Maxis IMO, To me Maxis is very secretive & I have no idea of his intentions. If I was to predict there is going to be a plot twist coming up where everyone's perspective is going to change...

Also in Die Rise you start with "you will hear me, and you should listen", quite demanding. The way Maxis treated Rich from the radios also shows he has a bad streak, I wouldn't be surprised if this came up again.

PS- Loved what PINNAZ said about Sam! That's a good way of putting it. :)

  7. In Black Ops II- Misty or Marlton, in Black Ops I- Anyone apart from Takeo (sorry but his quotes annoyed me after a while), I do enjoy listening to quotes by certain characters. Although I would always be willing to play as any of them (I don't quit to change character).

    Love this song:

    tXsxvdF481I

I love looking at the psychology of superstition, if you wear socks and pass an exam, you may call them 'lucky socks', if you pass again this will strengthen your belief of these 'lucky socks' even though they are just socks. Many humans try to find patterns, this is where superstition comes from. Whether or not your believe it is up to you, personally I hate standing on ANY cracks in the ground, not sure why though... ;) Although that is a different topic for a different day. Anyway! Back on topic

Can I get a clarification on the 3 characters (I know Misty)

So there is russman (I think hes the darker skin guy) but the other two guys confuse me. Can I get a description on the other two guys or a link to somewhere I can find.

    Marlton- Geek, grey top, young

    Stu- Old, shorts

  8. This is all dependant on your play style I suppose, but saying that there isn't really much of a 'play style' in zombies like there is in MP.

A while ago I set myself a challenge (on town of course), to PaP every new weapon within black ops II in one game, I had it done by round 26, so here are my recommendations & stay away things.

As MMX said the M1911 PAP'd has the most dramatic change out of all weapons, if you've never PaP'd that then you really should, it's the bomb ;)

KAP-40: NEVER PaP this! It is really a waste of a weapon slot IMO, it is very good for early rounds but once you get into those higher rounds it becomes a useful as the M1911 is at round 20, you will get lots of points, but don't expect to be getting a lot of kills in the mean time.

As you said the HAMR (haven't upgraded the AN yet, not PaP anything in Die Rise yet....) is a great weapon when PaPd, but try the RPD & the LSAT (if you have NKZ). These are pretty good fun to use, even if they do make you slow, you will have a heck of a lot of firepower with you.

Another recommendation is the DSR sniper rifle, I know what you may be thinking but pair this with double tap II & you are set for a while (splits the bullet so more fire power). You can also re-pap this to change the sights to whatever your preference.

Type 25 (PAP- Strain 25)will get you though, this is decent enough to spend 5000 on but you may run out of ammo quite quickly (for me at least)-

MTAR is very good, people seem to have missed that one but try it, you will like it!

I haven't had a chance to hit the box in a while so will have probably have forgotten some weapons! Hope this helps!

  9. My first impressions are that GLP is a great map which offers a challenge.

The tight corners, small rooms and sudden twists keep you on your toes. I've played about five low rounds games and the layout is still surprising, somehow I just can't seem to memorize this map as quickly as I could the others.

The jumpers are a pain & are a little bit too overpowered IMO. They seem to pin you in a corner and keep you their until you meet your doom. Not saying I don't like them, they are a great addition and offer even more to the game & makes you think ahead, wondering what they are going to do next. Saying this though they can take a heck of a lot of bullets...

The new WW is great! a fresh idea which also offers its own challenge when manoeuvring.

Finally I want to look at the height of the map, yes I want to look at the sheer drops to the depths below. One false move and it's all over, I love it, yes I've fallen a few times & they offer great reflections back to the game, whenever I fall I get to think about what I just did & what caused me to 'fall' down the pit, such as me not controlling the zombies correctly or something like that.

This has almost everything I want from a map although I still feel that teamwork is lost when it comes to reviving. The new jumpers & the WW have made it so players stick closer together than in TranZit but if I was at one side of the map then I wouldn't be able to get myself to the other side of the map to revive someone, that was something that I loved doing on maps like Der Reise, being able to make my way (whether by teleporter or by running) to the other player to revive them. This maybe because of the size of the map but if this is going to be the case then perhaps make the revive state last longer?

Great map Treyarch! Looking forward to the next one.

  10. Hmmmm. I just went online, purchased it from the store(had the season pass) but I couldn't find ENG or something that wasn't German, French, Polish or Spanish. This tells me one of two things, one is that it isn't available in the UK as of yet or you do just download one of them & hope for the best. Don't be surprised if you get a German speaking Misty ;)

Hopefully the download list will edit itself as the day goes through & not just stay like it was at the download time when I 'purchased' (that is what I'm worrying about, first time downloading from a pass thing)... annoyingly, a huge computer/virus practical at college is stopping me from staying at home watching it... keep me updated on what happens! See ya :D

  11. I loved Der Riese! (although I've never player Ascension, COTD & Shangri-La) Was one of my favorites, as others have said it had a good mix in difficulty which I liked a lot. It also introduced a lot of new concepts within zombies (such as the teles) & overall was a great layout.

Personally I'm looking forward to Die Rise next week, hoping it is what I want from this map, just tough and gives a real survival concept to zombies unlike many of the other maps IMO...

  12. Personally I would like the survive aspect of survival being put into zombies for the final map, no easy kiting, something where we have to work for it. Maybe restricting parts of the map until a certain round (or until you have a certain amount of points (a lot!).

Maybe something similar to Verruckt where players get separated. Really just something SO challenging for the hardcore slayers that it will last a VERY long time. Saying that though I hope zombies doesn't end too soon although if we're getting the next gen consoles soon then the days maybe numbered...

  13. Liking the challenges RDR, one little note I'm not sure if you want to set a kill/round limit on the "with my little eyes..." challenge. Otherwise players may just play the first round, end it & get blue eyes ;) I like the elite challenge though! I can see many restarts occurring.

  14. Personally I think the devs spent a lot if time on NTZ considering they did this + Green Run + TranZit mode + greif mode + probably preparing for future DLC & quotes + new story etc.

The style of the map is great and there are quite a lot of Easter Eggs within this map & is VERY unique. One thing I would like to say is that not having any quotes for the characters does detract a little.

If you are on about people playing it (players focus on Green Run) then it is probably because of the perk machines, people don't like it when you mess with the perk machines  I like it however, unique, random and you need luck! Everything I want in a zombies map!

  15. 32 teams! $1,000,000 up for grabs! This CoDz members is the call of duty championships! Here's the trailer:

    SvHzlBWYfBM

David also mentions this in his community update video:

    g822zcS-BM0

The rules? They use the same rules as in the championship playlist in 'League Play'. It is good that all of this is coming about!

    More things to note:

    2XP at the weekend

    Game update are now documented

    Information on reporting others

    That's it really, thanks CoDz!

  16. I can only give what I've seen from others, Ali-A seemed to have the same thing on one of his live vids where he ran across and got swiped by three zombies which left him red, I think he also said he didn't have perm-jug too but I'm not 100%. Although I can't confirm this from playing myself I know that he's had the same.

This link will take you to the part where you see this:

    http://youtu.be/DxXQ0ALXGA8?t=5m41s

It also happens again at 6.04 so it can either be that Treyarch has given us extra hits because of the small corridors or people have unlocked something they don't know about.

  17. What if the dragon comes to us? Maybe it floats through the elevator shafts and breaths paper fire  But on a serious note, what if it came through the shafts, coming from the outside to the crumbled inside of the building? Causing the shafts to be even more dangerous!
