  1. I love seeing these types of guides and tutorials, if nothing else just to see others play and look for things to potentially incorporate into my game.

However, I disagree with many of your points. Unless this is mostly a coop guide.

The spawn will always always be four entries for zombies, either thru windows or two holes by Olympia. I think if you like the each player grab a window strategy, the easiest would be top war room with debris to lower room shut. Get there as soon as you can and breeze thru 8-9. Round 7-8 on MPL hall is far more dangerous, especially especially solo because you need refill at least two times.

Here is a what I believe a safer way solo:

Round 3 when zombies break in, open first door and MPL. This to insure safe hall way. Round 4-5 if I get overrun I head downstairs via elevator. Again I wait for zombies to break in then open debris to lower war room. This to ensure safe bottom floor.

Finish the round and you should have 6-8 grand after opening the stakeout debris. Take your pick jug or bowie.

Five is by far my favorite map. And the source of many of my failure. But I love it.

    Hope to talk more.

  2. Another few inches of snow, making this winter by far the most inconvenient in my memory. Can't get anything accomplished, so you'll see much of me in the next few days.

Anyways, no one was available to goof around last night, so I hooked up with a few randoms for Town. I have been brutally critical of randoms as a whole, but I secretly enjoy the mystery and uncertainty of not knowing how the game would go.

All three guys had mikes and they have the same setup; hit the box early and often, forget jug and others. I slowly saved up enough to get jug by round 6, knuckles by 11, and QR by 12. The three randoms each went down a few times and by 12 all gone down by the box near double tap. Of course they blamed the weak box weapons for their deficiencies. I went down trying for my 23rd revive.

Game 2 was a bit different. One guy got ray gun early and never looked back. The other two got decent enough weapons to stay alive. I had basically the same game; jug by 6, knuckles 11. Except this time no one went down.

I completely understand the temptations of great box weapons. What I failed to comprehend is the urge for them as early as round 2. During the set up stage of the game, you want as many points as possible for doors, perks and such. An MP5 is just as effective killing zombies pre-teens as ray gun, and far more generous with points.

Personally I opt for jug first regardless of map. Afterwards I get the melee weapon available. Even after one hit kill I shoot then chest and finish with the knife/knuckle. Late teens I PAP my weapons and use Mustang and Sally as my main killing weapon. Maps Five, Ascension, Moon, Der Riese and Die Rise I completely ignore box unless it was convenient. Only exception being Buried.

I enjoy the appeal of mystery, but not at the expense of necessities. Jug #1, melee weapons #2, box can wait.

Stay warm my friends, especially the ones in Northern US.

  3. If you don't mind, I would do my strategy to stack against yours. If nothing else just to hear others critique my version.

Camp in first room until round three.

Pick up Gewehr to rack points.

Round three hit chest 2 times and knife.

Round four hit chest 3 times and knife

Round five hit chest 4 times and knife....you get the gist.

I camp until overrun then open the first door. Overrun then the next door, and slowly move toward power.

By 5-6 I have enough for power and jug.

Camp in power until I have 4250 for next door and Bowie.

Afterwards from the jug side I cross the bridge pass double tap and camp in that room above Thompson. With both door and debris closed, zombies only come thru the window. Whenever between rounds I pick up bettie and Thompson, and speed cola.

I basically camp there until mid-late teen, or until get bored.

From there I set up rest of the game by PAP my pistol for Mustang and Sally and camp in Thompson room like you proposed. With M&S as my main killing weapon I completely ignore box until 30s.

Sure it is dangerous but also fun. I believe my highest solo is 37, co-op 36. Fast and furious.

  4. Thanks for the welcome, especially another car guy. For some reasons on a predominantly male site we are like Polar bears.

As far as German cars, I actually would prefer Audi. They have made some wicked improvements since 07. I loved the Audi S4 and considered it before getting the G37X. I had a Boxter S at the time so did not want get another VW product.

I go to NYC for the auto show every April, will certainly post some photos then. Many new lines this year.

  6. Well, if you look around, half the regulars then are regulars today.

Nothing to worry. Although the number of members ballooned, it's been fairly the same 4 people day in and day out.

Either y'all have nothing better to do or something about that bond. My money is on the former.

  7. I ran out of interesting topics, so dug deep into my pocket for this. This is in response to Chopper's mega intro.

    Enjoy.

    Jay the person

Forget what you think you know, he's actually quite no non sense in the mold of MMX. He believes in hard work and preparation, his motto since school days and extended into work. He preaches effort will accomplish things intelligence alone cannot.

He loves sports and participated to full extent back in the day. He bleeds black and gold and dies a bucco.

    His boy in Steeler gear:

He owns a pistol and enjoys target shooting.

    fnsglg.jpg

That is the iconic CZ 75 found in BO1

Like a typical boring male, he also likes cars. Fast cars.

    My baby girl:

    My naughty boy:

Both are extremely quick for their class and both are examples of great engineering.

    Jay's Job

He has a bachelor of science in BBA and MBA. If you don't know what they mean they are basically fancy terms for boring stuff.

His company buys struggling/foreclosd businesses and offer shares to investors. He is the VP of accounting and finances, a Webster term for "Chairman's bitch". Paul the Chairman is off the hook crazy. We once had a lunch meeting at 2:00PM, extended our meeting to the job site, went to dinner to talk some more, then to a bar to talk even more, and ended our meeting at Denny's at 5:00 AM. Last Thanksgiving I received a call from him on Wednesday at 7:30PM to get ready to head to Columbus for the weekend. I had less than an hour to arrange everything including hotel for my dog.

We have owned and operated theaters, bowling alleys, country clubs, water parks, and many other similar entertainment venues. We buy them *****, pour some money into them to pimp them up, and sell minority shares to investors.

He has a young female Secretary who dresses like she's Britney Spears, unfortunately she is more like Rosie O'Donnell.

    Jay the gamer

He is like a little boy. He prefers coop over solo but lately abandoned by many of his former running mates. His skills are moderate and unpredictable; he is the same person who had 25 downs by round 30, and next day 0 downs and 120 revives on Town.

That's all folks. Thanks for reading.

  8. There are some tougher revives, and then there are some near impossible revives.

When I see people go down in weird places, I see them as new challenges to conquer. I used to watch the British Bull Dogs first room challenges, and I have picked up some excellent information on positioning during revives, both as the reviver and the revivee. (That's right, I made up those words.)

I play with randoms a lot, and still see a lot guys with pedigree clueless during revive situations. They either blast their way aimlessly or lay like a dead chicken.

  9. I love seeing these types of posts. I always try to analyze and apprehend the reasons behind certain moves.

With that said, I like my set up better because it better fit my style of play. I do however, run the Thompson as you pointed out, but with the top debris closed. I stack claymores in the fume room as emergency escape to buy time, as well as by the steps.

Very well done, hope to see similar tutorials in the future.

  10. Death traps, they are everywhere. You avoid them at all costs. Unfortunately during the course of a game, someone will go down in a death trap that you know you should not attempt to revive, but love the challenge that you couldn't. Assuming you have weak weapons and will revive based on pure skills.

Let's list the notable death traps.

    -Double Tap, Town-

When mystery box spawns there, you know someone will die there at some point. Past round 13, when you have the pistol and MP5, you need the stars to align in order to revive. I have only done it once vesus 100+ failed attempts, when I was the only one left, hoard the zombs and head up thru MP5 to clear the stamina path.

    -Die Rise, the whole map-

Forget about it, unless they are right next to you. I avoid the power building altogether.

    -Upper War Room, Five-

Unless you have a full hoard forget about it.

-Jug Room or in the tunnel, Der Riese-

Cut your losses, I'm not coming.

    -Maze, Buried-

I'm no gypsy but death is in your future.

    -Basement below power room, Verrukt-

The map is big enough that it is possible for revive, but unless you are a hot chick or carrying my child I'm letting you die.

Ok, that's all I have at this point. Be sure to add your least favorite places to visit.

Thanks for reading, tommorrow I'm doing a guide on how to make dogs stop humping your legs.

  11. I'm no Way or Chopper, but I'm no slouch either. I have had some moments others dream of having. But sharing your proudest moments is not the path we are walking today, we are going through the wall of shame, the dumbest moments you had. What's better bonding than guys laughing at one another?

Mistakes happen, but some are consequential and some are down right embarrassing. I view myself as an intelligent wise individual, but even I at times are plagued by stupid mistakes. Let's list the dumbest and most damaging mistakes.

-Trading in Mustang and Sally by accident-

I lost count the number of times I trade in my favorite killing weapon thinking it was CZ 75.

    -Claymores near wall weapons-

I lost count how many times I accidentally stack claymores near wall weapons that I trade in my wonder weapon for a wall gun trying to pick up a claymore.

    -PAP moving-

On Die Rise, I get to a PAP machine already present. A zombie approaches after PAP takes my weapon. I do a quick circle come back to find the PAP gone.

    -Messaging during games-

Lost count how many times I leave a crawler to message in middle of games only to find the crawler catching up and killing me before I finish my so important messaging. One time on a four player high round pursuit, I pause to reply an invitation to another game. Rushing into it I accidentally hit join, abruptly ending our 30+ game on Five, by far the highest at that time.

-Fling yourself to death with the trample stream-

Self explanatory, lost count how many times I have done it on Die Rise.

    -Forget you lost perks-

I lost count how many times after losing my perks, I horde the zombies and shoot mustang and sally at my feet. The worst being a 30+ game on Ascension, the last person surviving, I shoot myself to death while others spectating me. They were convinced I did it on purpose.

-Holding the grenade a second too long-

I lost count how many times I cook a grenade only to have it a tad too long.

That is all I could muster up at this moment. Are you so perfect that these never occurred to you?

    Thanks for reading.

  12. Assuming your kills are 155,000 on the nose your k/d would be 163. Shotguns are normally obtained between 200-220 range. I got mine around 212 so I guess that's where the others factors come in so play. So the bare minimum you would need is 35,500 more kill with no additional downs (good luck with that).

At least I know where to start.

I have seen people with Shot guns at <150K/D radio. Has it been generally proven that 200+ is to obtain, but what is the number to maintain to stay at shot gun? I was too lazy to go through 24 pages of theories and guesses without much facts. You could understand that.

  13. Alrighty,, let me go into detail.

In a regular online game, all stats count. On solo, if you dont want your down to count toward your career stat, then as soon as you go down, right when either who's who or quick revive is taking effect, pause the game and head to you PSN/Xbox menu and quit the game. All stats will count except your down.

This method however, during custom games, nullifies all stats.

So yes, stats do count during a custom game. Unless you quit the game. Quitting the game is different from leaving the game.

  14. Most systems work as long as the people don't abuse it.

I have always been neutral with the brain system. Sure it is fun, but the same four guys braining one another for no valid reasons will ruin it for others.

But great work, kudos for your efforts.

  15. Two years ago I read this religiously, along with the complete solo guide trying to get better.

I still suck but I have progressed much since becoming a member. playing with Way helps too, as he has always held my hand with each new map.

Where have you gone Way? Baby slowing you down?

  16. This topic has been beaten many times and twisted many ways. However, each time answers are a bit different.

I think BO2 was designed to encourage more solo play, evident by the solo leaderboards and career stats, as well as the rage quit factor completely nullifies coop games.

Solo obviously is easier for high rounds and patching stats. Everything goes according to your plans and no surprises. It is the same reason why it's so boring, the game is so linear and so predictable.

Coop presents more of a challenge, but much more fun especially with your buddies. Getting to round 30 joking with your friends not only redefines entertainment, but with satisfying results. During my stints on BO2, I heavily prefer solo in fear of shitting my stats. En route to round 20 solo you amass 500+ kills easily, something coop may require round 30+ to do; a much tougher task with far more risks to go down. Although I have achieved more than 3000+ revives on 950 downs, I did it mostly on scrubs and immature imbeciles whom I purposely search for my stats.

I very much prefer coop, because it is more fun. With that said, BO2 was not as coop friendly as BO1.
