PC...well, I know you can do virtually anything on it but it becomes a very, very expensive investment over time.

New games on console cost 59.99$ on Europe they will be even more. New games on PC cost usually at least 10-15$ less. Now you can count how many new games you buy per year and how much you will save on that during the console generation.

Then we come to sales! SALES SALES SALES. You will get TON of year or two old AAA games with so cheap price it will almost feel like robbing!

New PC games cost the same as new console games. I have no idea where you got the idea that PC games cost less initially.

As for the sales argument, that's great, but most of the games I would buy from sales would be recommendations that I don't actually care much about. I'd rather get a few games that look interesting and care about rather than have many extras that interest me very little. Also, I personally usually get the games I want closer to launch, so sales are usually out of the question. Really it's not much different. I'd still say PC is far more expensive.

  2. I'm starting to consider a few things regarding these games. The lack of a Pokemon Z or equivalent is intriguing me. I'm beginning to wonder if they're going to incorporate the two together. Sure they said it'd be a full RS remake, but doesn't mean it can be ONLY that, right?

Supposedly FireRed/LeafGreen came before Emerald, so It's very possible Z will be out after them. I don't think it'd make any sense to combine Z and these two.

  3. I heard about this earlier today. Damn you, good games, why can't I have money for you!? There's way too much to buy this year. I loved emerald, so I'll probably get Omega Ruby. It is going to be on the X/Y engine, right? If so, that gives me a valid reason to buy it. If it was like FireRed/LeafGreen I wouldn't get them, but this, this actually is a full on remake.

This is probably at the bottom of my priority list for the time being, however.

  4. For the record, it's not the best idea to call a thread "console wars." That promotes flaming.

That said, I feel like only Xbox isn't worth getting. PS has better and more numerous exclusives. PS4 is actually great for multiplats compared to the PS3 last gen, so there is another reason.

To get a full gaming experience, always go

    PS, for exclusives and multiplat

Nintendo, for their first party games

PC, for strategy games and MMOs.

  5. It's good to see old names. I don't remember ever having that many brains, however. If converted to the new system, that's over a hundred brains. No way I've ever gotten that many.

I'd be down for it, but I feel like it'd be cheating the newer members, and as Boom said many of them aren't active anymore.

  6. Holy sheet, you're alive!

Still into Korean dramas? Good to see you! Can't wait to see more of your stories.

EDIT: Also, it was more like a single year than two. You disappeared Januaryish 2013. BTW, it's face behind the avatar week if you want to get into that.

  7. Anyone else like the Fighter's Guild in that one? Everyone else I know says that one was the worst, but I actually loved it. Everyone said the Thieves' Guild is amazing, but apart from the last quest it's pretty lame really.

Also, Knights of the Nine ftw. Seriously. Loved getting that armor one piece at a time.

  8. I've been wondering if it's worth me playing Oblivion or Morrowind.  Never played them before but love Skyrim so guessing I'd at least have some interest.

Haven't played Morrowind, but Oblivion is worth a play. The environments aren't too bad aesthetically, though faces may or may not throw you off. The guilds are pretty damn good, as well as the arena. Also, be sure to get the GOTY edition for Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles. Both worth it, imo.

My only personal problems with it are the very basic and copied dungeons (goes for oblivion gates as well), and the combat system, but only because it doesn't flow as well as skyrim's. Other than that, I think I prefer alot of it to Skyrim.

EDIT: If you do get into Oblivion, here's some advice: to level up, sleep. I had no idea you had to do that at first. It's not spelled out like in Skyrim. You literally need to find a place to sleep to level up.

  9. I almost forgot how shit the quests and guilds in Skyrim are compared to Oblivion. :/

At least the dungeons aren't copy and pasted anymore. More than anything, the guilds and quests are just tedious after a few playthroughs.

Made a new character today. Male Nord, probably strong on the melee side as always. But god, is the beginning tedious as all hell now. Luckily I got past the beginning part, sucks I still have to get to High Hrothgar for my shouts, and do the companions for the 15th time.

To anyone, is the Dragonborn DLC any good or should I just not bother?

  10. We really were stubborn, no one wanted to give in. I only did because if we didn't stop friendships would be ruined forever, and I think the thread probably would've been locked. I might have to reread that just to see how bad it was.

As for the SOS, hm... It definitely brings up weird points. We definitely need to take those with a grain of salt either way. SNN itself does take place months after the war as well, so it doesn't make sense, though it would definitely point closer to Manchuria, or possibly a close by island to Japan due to no battles actually being fought in Japan's heartland involving America.

  11. Brings back memories of when I was completely against the idea of it being nowhere else but japan, due to it clearly saying Japan. Well, I still believe it's Japan because I still don't think Japan means all the lands they conquered during the war, for various reasons, but I'm not going to argue it because everyone else seemed to put me down last time, and I admit I got kind of wrapped up in the argument as well.

Still, fun memories and a good theory over all, but the word choice as well as the fact that it was still called Manchuria, though under a puppet government by the japanese, so it technically it wouldn't be classified under the Japanese empire. The other logic behind the mukden battle and the experiments make perfect sense to me, though

Well, I guess I kinda did argue it  :( Oh well, I won't debate it quite like I did last time. Also, I think we can honestly rule out the animal sounds. Often times those are just that, random animal sounds.

EDIT: also, the SOS signal quote comes from post war, doesn't it? I can't remember. If it does then it would definitely be Manchuria regardless of all else.
