Then why is Samantha narrating this if she's being stopped once and for all? I agree with Samantha not being who she seems, but you brought time travel with this too which is completely unnecessary if she isn't who she seemed.

It seems timelines can be connected by time travel. It is still possible for this to be a prequel in the community's meaning of the word AND in an alternate reality, but the answer would be quite confusing.

As for the towers, they were part of the N4 saga. I find it a bad choice of what else to do on Treyarch's part. However, if I was connecting the saga to DLC4, I would make Maxis's ending to save Samantha from Agartha very relevant.

I knew you were referring to that thread. My point still stands. Besides, this is zombies, they can take liberties. For godsake there are zombies. Last I checked, there weren't zombies in WWI. It would probably have all been covered up, if talked about in a historical standpoint, and again, the weapons could be prototypes.

I can barely understand what you're trying to say on the second point... kinda confusing. If reality were altered it wouldn't be a prequel at all no matter what they did. If samantha went to the past and changed everything, then Maxis is completely irrelevant in agartha. Not quite sure what you were trying to say.

This isn't an alternate reality. It's being called a prequel for a reason. It's the beginning to the story we know and love.

Time consistencies such as the weapons and such? Easily explained. Germans developed them or aliens, but since all the crazy crap happened they all couldn't be used, or salvaged rather. Weapons could also be prototypes, but most likely they just put them in there because they thought we'd realize that the weapons have been inconstant before. It also isn't relevant if Samantha is going back to the past.

Why I don't want it to be an alternate reality is because it's supposed to be a prequel. Makes it seem as if everything else is for nothing. Not to mention, it would render the whole point of the towers pointless. Saying just no was not a counter argument. This would be my counter argument for why it's a stupid idea (no offense to those who want it).

Yeah I love the alternate reality theory, just not applied here.

As for Samantha, it just.. I'm sure it will be her, I just don't see how. She simply shouldn't be alive. As of 1942, she was between 6-10 years old, according to the terminal. I'm baffled. Seems like it should be Sophia or someone. But like I said, I'm sure it'll be Samantha.

But the theory is that Samantha isn't an ordinary girl, hence the influence on Maxis (it's possible she isn't even his daughter based on how Richtofen made out the influence to be a recent thing). It's possible she can't age. We obviously can't know at this point, but she could be a spawn of Satan for all we know. Also gives us a way forward in terms of plot for BO3 if you think about it.

Perhaps someone we haven't met yet? There are no certainties until the DLC comes out...

Would sincerely doubt that. They made it pretty obvious that it's Samantha given the achievement, and her speaking in the opening. It'd be weird if it wasn't Samantha.

It's incredibly unlikely that Richtofen would have the same subject for 27 years...

Who else could it be? I don't think it would be a grown woman based on how Richtofen says "the girl"

Edward's second letter is more evidence for my theory. This is an alternate reality where many things have happened earlier and many roles are switched. As I have said before, this is most likely a world where Maxis is insane and interested in unusual sciences while Richtofen is the head of Group 935's Element 115 excavations in France. They also probably had hostilities.

We never actually got Samantha's date of birth. For all we know, she can't age.

Let's think of the most famous bearer if the name Pablo. Pablo Picasso, of course. His last ne is of Italian origin, however he identifies himself as Spanish, as do the rest of the world. Why? Because he was born in Spain and his first name is Pablo, which is of Spanish origin. So while Marinus is Pablo's last name in the letter, which is of Ancient Rome/Dutch decent, he very well still may identify as Spanish, despite his given name.

Now, his last name, Marinus, means 'of the sea', so I'm going to say that he's an explorer from some country. Dr. Edward Richtofen was able to find him and retrieved his journal, which led them to the site they're currently at. But the journal wasn't enough, he needed Pablo's help. He drug him along as extra help and once they arrived, he set up his laboratory and began his experimentation on the Mexican, also known as Pablo Marinus. He is the man we see in the Origins trailer.

This is my theory for now, until more details are released. Getting super excited!

That's a stretch, but hey. I think it's more likely an explorer from say the renaissance, but that's just me. None the less it does get more interesting by the minute.

IMO If Treyarch used a placeholder in their YouTube video, that was just damn lazy. Even for them.

man, i really wanted them to continue to the story line after Moon. all they have been doing is throwing us for a loop with all these twist and turns, hopefully things make more sense once the map drops

Pretty much everything in WaW should at the very least... All I can say is this is the most interesting map we've ever had.

your missing my point i see, IF shes telling this story AFTER moon, in the Bo2 years which some believe is a decade or two into the future. why would she still sound like a lil girl? and my point is, placeholder or not we can tell shes telling this from the future right? why did they make her voice sound like that, even if it was just a placeholder.

I don't believe in it being decades later because that quote is unreliable, and it doesn't really make sense with the characters IMO, so you'll have to ask someone else. Could be she can't age, either.

My theory is that Samantha was discovered inside the ruins, but had no memory. Maxis found her, and whether it was part of her power, or Maxis having a conscious, he took her and acted as if she was his daughter. Of course with her having no memory whatsoever, she didn't have any choice other than to believe it. This would explain the dark nature she sometimes display, as well as why there is no mother in the picture! The ancient evil within the ruins? I believe it's her, or possibly her real father (Satan?)

With the Dialog added, this confirms she is talking to us rather to the O4. Also she says Three, not Four. So something's not right Richtofen after all.

That's because three of the allies were sent to stop this... they didn't say central powers. He was already there.

but the voice on youtube, maybe thats her from the future...the original voice is her wen it began but still the way her voice sounds...she all of a suddens sounds like the voice announcing wen she use to be in control back in the day. also i was lookin at my trophies list and seen the silver trophy is for releasing her, idk but she has some influence here
