  1. If i am able to get the digital deluxe and preload it like i am hoping to, I will play SoE while my friends are inevitably installing or downloading their games.  This will be at 11pm central time on thursday.  hope to get an hour in on it, and then im sure my friends and I will jump into either MP, or the co-op campaign

  2. whys everyone posting in spoilers? if you don't want the intro cutscene spoiled why would you click this thread, it's a thread for people who have watched the cutscene to post about the cutscene

    I'm lost

The whole thing has been a bit confusing for me. The official Spoilers announcement states that spoiler content includes officially released Story Content even from Call of Duty's social media accounts, so I honestly don't know anymore.

I'll admit, even though I put my thoughts from the trailer in a spoiler, this particular policy does kind of make things difficult for future stuff. Will we not be able to freely discuss any future trailer for DLC maps and whatnot? Also what becomes fair game once the game is released? I know it will be difficult enough with most people on xbox here, but it seems like most of the heated discussions will take place in spoiler tabs and yes it doesn't take much to click through them but that's still a bit of a hassle if that will overtake most discussions. I think if the OP states the thread will use spoilers, and puts the word spoilers in the title, then everything discussed therein is fair game and doesn't need to be put within spoiler tabs.

But i mean why don't we have to put story discussion about past games and maps in spoilers? I mean if someone hasn't played them or heard about them yet it could spoil it for them!   Kidding aside, anything that is not a "leak" and has been officially released should be fair game for uncensored discussion

We really do need to quit this bickering over "spoilers"  clicking on this thread and then being mad about having something spoiled for you is like clicking on a move review for a movie you haven't seen yet and don't want spoiled.  Absolutely no reason whatsoever for discussion about an OFFICIALLY RELEASED BY Activision trailer to be hidden in spoiler tags

Now that I got that out of the way, It was a pretty awesome trailer.  It gives me like a Saw vibe, where the shadow man is like jigsaw and is making them "earn their right to live"

  4. @Nightmare Voyager @DaveLo07 @Spiderx3000

Thanks guys for putting these in spoiler tabs. :)

And hey: It doesn't even look that bad now, does it? :P

I agree it doesn't look that bad but my point is that even with the tabs, this info is going to be everywhere very quickly and people will hear about it either way. Users will mention it in other threads or in chat inadvertently. Some things are just hard to shy away from unless you choose to go off the grid, which most won't.

In an ideal world it would be good to avoid spoilers but it's near impossible these days. It will be even more disappointing if it turns out DOA2 is an unlockable mode as all surprise will be lost.

I think it looks terrible and is really annoying to have to click 20 separate buttons just to read a page of posts.  If you are clicking on threads that obviously are going to have information in them that may "spoil" something for you, that is on you.

  5. Well see, it is more to classic zombies then normal zombies. Or at least to me, because as far as I'm concerned, BO1 and WAW are classic zombies to me. Thus, BO1's DOA is a great feel in a game that really gives you something else to have fun with. I'd take that over another map any day.

There's no way that anything other than FIrst Person zombies can be called "classic"   Most people if you asked them if they wanted to play some cod zombies, and then you started up DOA they'd be pissed lol

  6. Dead Ops Arcade was great... There is literally no reason to hate it

    A fun bonus mode

    Doesn't ruin the story

Small and doesn't take up much space on the disc

The time they wasted on that, could've been put towards a third proper map on release. I wouldnt mind it if we could play it first person as well, which apparently was planned from the PC BO1 files. It is the least played map on BO1, at least non DLC anyway. I always got confused which character i was controlling and ended up dying all the time and this just made it not fun at all.

I'd actually prefer DOA2 as opposed to a 3rd map. Adds more variety.

I disagree with that.  i don't have a problem with DOA2, but for those expecting Call of Duty Zombies, most wouldn't consider DOA to be that

  7. @Lenne our new rule of thumb is that if its on CharlieIntel or MP1st (Activision sanctioned sites) - then it's not a leak. Those sites are in direct correlation from Activison, and would not post something detrimental to the relationship.  So if you are ever in question, checkout CharlieIntel and see if they have an article detailing it.

Achievements come out early every year, this is nothing new.

DOA is a great time killer. It's a perfect game for if you only have a limited time and can't do high rounds. Plus it pleases the oldies (like me) who grew up playing top down shooters like Smash TV.

    edit:

And our leak policy is not zero tolerance. The staff completely understands that companies use leaks and drip tactics for marketing, we are well aware it's a changed landscape and we are pro discussion.

Thanks for clarifying, I wasn't aware of those recent tweaks to the leak policy.  I know we were extremely anti-leak in the past

  8. they are on PSN that's how exophase got them I don't really see achievements as a leak

and I don't see the problem with discussing leaks, as long as codz isn't the site leaking them people should be able to discuss them here if they want like every other website in the world but just be careful with spoilers, use tags

    This.

Things were different back in 2010 when black ops 1 came out.  If we continue to just hold this zero tolerance policy toward any information that wasn't directly given by treyarch/activision, then people will just flock away from us and toward where they will find and be able to discuss the most up to date information on the games/maps

  9. It's free with the caveat that to use the gun, you have to receive a variant of it in a supply drop or advanced supply drop.

So they are locked until then.  Conveniently they sell advanced supply drops for exorbitant prices in the store.  It is bullshit

I'm unfamiliar with Supply Drops (don't own the game). Is this like a lucky dip or something that you can buy?

well you earn 1 supply drop for every approximately 45 minutes of in combat time.  so you know if you play for 2 hours you might get 2-3.  They include 2 or 3 items (randomly determined) which might be a gun variant, a item of clothes for your character or a "reinforcement" which are a limited time of double XP, rapid supply (earn supply drops twice as fast) or a care package drop in your next game.

However.  You can also BUY "Advanced Supply Drops" through the in game store for $1.99 for 1, 4.99 for 3, 9.99 for 5, 19.99 for 10 or 39.99 for 20.

So there are people who are literally spending 2/3 what they spent on the whole game for 20 random chances at guns/clothes.

The problem is that there are some 365 different gun variants in the game, so your chances of receiving one of the 4 of these new gun variants is a fraction of a percent.  Thus they are trying to encourage advanced supply drop sales by giving us "free" guns but making them locked until you randomly get one in a drop

  10. Is it paid or free DLC? I can't say I'd buy it myself if I had the game, but if it's free DLC I might've come back and checked it out.

I'm entirely okay if they keep this up (regardless of the content) during BO3 because it means a CoD is actually getting support after the new one comes out. Could set a precedent. But most likely this will be the last DLC for AW.

Its free as far as I know, I mean I would be okay with this but I would rather more ways to keep players around other than "new" guns.

It's free with the caveat that to use the gun, you have to receive a variant of it in a supply drop or advanced supply drop.

So they are locked until then.  Conveniently they sell advanced supply drops for exorbitant prices in the store.  It is bullshit

  11. This whole "lets pick a favorite and give it a new coat of paint then sell it again" idea is getting old. Half of the last map pack of BO II was nothing but re-imagined layouts of "fan favorite" maps from the Black ops before that. Instead of being lazy, just make more small maps. Nuketown is cool and all for a fast-paced chaotic game, but it's now being done for the THIRD time over.

    here here!!!

  12. As someone who loves Nuketown zombies with a passion I do not understand why some of you guys get into a thread about the third mp Nuketown map and give out jabs at NTZ.

Maybe because you are just scrubby noobs if Juggernog isn't the first, second or third perk that drops.

    @GRILL @Nightmare Voyager @TimelordAlex

    #shotsfired #comeatmebros #wannafightmeIRL?

    Just kidding.

    Seriously though.

This fan favourite BS needs to stop, because for the most part the CoD fans have a terrible taste.

This is so so true.  Plus, what if they had been so busy reimagining the faavorite maps from WaW that they scrapped nuketown?

All the map remakes are doing are preventing us from getting our new favorite map

  13. So are we still allowed to discuss the audio files now that they have been removed? Says on the link that a DMCA notice was served by Treyarch. Given the files that had been uploaded initially, I thought this was intentional as they really didn't give much away but there was a file uploaded that if genuine, was story related to The Giant so I assume this  is now a leak?

As long as CharlieINTEL is reporting on in then we can discuss it but I think it's safe to say we will not be allowing any direct links to these audio files as long as Treyarch or Activision are pulling them down. It''s a bit hard not to discuss it though seeing as the entire community has already either heard or are aware of their existence and are discussing it everywhere else.

Yeah, we are in an era now where information can be disseminated so quickly through social media and what not, I think we definitely have needed to evolve our no leaks policy here.  Now that stuff like this is being shared on sites and YT channels that have strong positive relationships with the devs, I think we should be able to discuss it, report on it, etc.  I certainly don't see any harm in doing so, as long as we don't claim things as fact or confirmed that are only guesses or assumptions

  14.  @TheNathanNS  the "cool" thing to do now after AW is to blame this (and everything else) on Skill based match making or SBMM as the kids like to call it ;)

but seriously, my first impressions after playing for an hour or so, I had fun, but the movement system is going to take me a long time to get used to.  Still learning how all the weapons are.  I heard a lot of people saying in the PS4 beta that the time to kill was really low, and either they came straight from playing halo, or they nerfed all the weapons before the xbox beta because I was getting hitmarkers and assists galore.

  15. What I'm trying to communicate in that regard is that it's not that it's a deliberate decision, but an inclination that occurs in some. That inclination is not a sin. As I said, I know someone who had/has homosexual inclinations, but as they know that ACTING on those inclinations is a sin in the eyes of God, they have chosen to deny themselves for his sake, and are a better Christian than I.

The same would apply to a man who is inclined to be a womanizer. Even though the temptation is 'straight' and 'natural,' does not make it acceptable to God. He is as much in sin if he uses a woman as a person who indulges in homosexual activity.

Grace is given to those that truly desire to deny their sinful inclinations, regardless of what they are. But God has laid guidelines and given us free will. We can choose to try out best (as feeble, though sincere, as it may be), or we can choose to ignore him.

So you don't believe that any person legitimately is only sexually attracted to those of the same sex?  It sounds like the person who you state that you know has "those inclinations" is bisexual and not homosexual

  16. As a christian, do I believe it's a sin? Yes, yes I do. I believe it's a temptation that some people have, just like some people are tempted by greed.

However, do I believe they should be denied the same rights I enjoy? No. This isn't a theocracy, and besides, it's legal to divorce, which is clearly a sin. You don't have to approve of an action to approve of it being legalized.

So when did you choose to be a heterosexual?

Not trying to be patronizing, as I would never criticize someone for supporting what the holy book of their religion states.    Just genuinely curious as to when one would make the choice to be gay or straight.  I know for one, I never chose, I was naturally attracted to those of the opposite sex.

  17. I haven't gotten to play it yet but just in case anyone cares, the download size of the Beta 12.34 GB for PS4. Plus an update file that seemed fairly small, so only an extra couple hundred MB's at best.

Damn. These 500GB systems we all just bought aren't gonna last very long with the size of all these updates & DLCs. I understand that there's a lot more detail in every Mao/mode. Just seems they should've made a 1TB system to begin with.

The skimped on the system specs on both consoles and they knew a 500GB (actually 350GB due to reserved storage) was dispicable from companies. They knoew we'll either invest in the 1TB system or use external storage but they skimped on specs when they could and should have gone higher than what they did.

You can simply change the hardrive to bigger one instead of buying new console with bigger storage. At least on PS4.

You could on the "slim" 360 also, don't know if that's the case on XB1.

you can get external 1TB hard drives for $40 if you look in the right places, so i think that is a cheaper and easier option for most people

  18. >Your opinion differs from mine, your opinion is automatically wrong.

    Who said that?

I think the hang up is that you are supposing that opinions on things like race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. are not opinions but are instead factually based.  Just like I can say beef is better tasting than chicken.  Although I feel very strongly about this, I am not necessarily right or wrong.  Again ethics in how we treat one another as human beings is more or less a guide, but it is not based on fact, its based on feelings and emotions on how people should be treated equal.  This is different than if someone is arguing with you that 2+1=4.

So don't take what i am saying to mean "your opinion is wrong"   What I am saying is your opinion is yours and yours alone, and you don't have the right to tell somebody else that they can't hold a specific opinion, no matter how strongly you believe in your own stance.

  19. @NaBrZHunter and any others.

Do understand, I don't make 'enemies'.

I'd be doing you and myself a disservice if I didn't feel the need to try and explain in any way I can, just why I believe something is wrong or incorrect.

I can and do compartmentalize most of the time, and I can accept and respect one statement, while completely rejecting another from the same person if one statement is sound and the other is not.

I cannot speak for everyone here, but I would like to assume that these controversial topics in Deep Thought and other branches of Off Topic are respected enough by the members of this site that those who venture here have the capacity to do as I do, and compartmentalize at least for the purposes of this site.

Might your opinions here change the way others view you as a whole? Of course.

Will that be a valid reason for them to start harassing you outside of the context of this topic? Absolutely not, and I fully encourage you to report andy suspected activity of the sort.

I hold myself to these rules:

Do not have an opinion you do not wish to share

Do not share an opinion you cannot discuss and defend

Do not continue to defend an opinon if you doubt it

Recognize that not all opinions are equal

NEVER hold an opinion if you cannot answer the question: "What could change my mind"

Furthermore I believe that all human beings, regardless of whether I respect certain opinions of theirs or not, deserve a certain level of professional respect.

So I can assure you that whatever you say here, will not make me your enemy, and whatever opinions you may hold here and whatever disagreements I may have with them, will not be reflected on any other opinions you may have.

RE: your satirical post.   If someone wanted to have that opinion they are absolutely free to hold that opinion.  as ridiculous as it is, they would still have the right to opine in that manner

Like I said earlier, I am 100% in favor of marriage equality, and do believe all people deserve to be treated with respect, HOWEVER, I will also defend the right of any person, whatever their religion, race, or creed may be, to think independently, and not be forced by anyone other than themselves to believe or think a certain way.

For a christian whose personal beliefs are guided by the Bible, i totally understand why they would feel that homosexuality is wrong.  There's no merit in attempting to force them to think differently, just as it is equally unfruitful to try and do the reverse.

again, disagreeing with one's opinion about an ethical or scrupulous matter like this does not make the other view wrong.... just different from your own

  20. I never said you aren't, why do you keep reading what I say and think I said something else entirely. I don't know why I keep explaining myself when you just keep twisting my words. In none of what I wrote did I say you can't have your own opinion, in fact I said the opposite.

im quoting you directly, there is no way I can twist your words when they are right there for all to see.

You stated directly that homosexuality isn't wrong, and that people shouldn't be able to opine that it is wrong, when in fact "right and wrong" are not black and white factual ideas.  They are opinions, and I don't think it is ok to say the someone should not have the right to have a specific opinion
