I don't think they would ever make a futuristic version of the seal logo, that thing has stood for a long time and it would be a dishonor to the Seals to change it. My 2 cents.
Well in Modern Warfare 3 this was the seal logo:
So they could have just modeled new faction logo from the trident.
EDIT: and this in BO2:
-
Just turned on my blops 2 Xbox and Message of the day was the same old richtofen one
At this point were just getting teased for the campaign, look under multiplayer to find the new one.
@MrMichelin46 : Where'd you get that?
As for the trident, I doubt it will be linked to a sunny drink producer...
They do lotion too!

I thought it's maybe a futuristic version of the Navy SEAL trident.

The thing that's throwing me off about about this being MK-Ultra brainwashing is that the MK-Ultra program fizzled out by the mid 70's.
Yet the UH-60 Blackhawk ,as @Matuzz mentioned, wasn't put into service until 1979.
The wiki link that @Chopper provided did mention that it is possible that the MK-Ultra program continued on in secret under a different acronym. Not sure if that's a stretch just to make this theory work though.
The thing that is working for me about this MK-Ultra brainwashing theory though is that it seems the subject is being put into a calm state through a soothing voice, ambient tones playing in the background, and images of peaceful forests. Yet it's cut with eery imagery of things relating to war, and death. It's as these films are programming the subject to associate the type of peace and tranquility you'd feel in a forest, with things like war, death, and mortality.
I also wanted to mention that the technology used to produce these videos looks to be from the 70's - 80's era.

But I don't think he is being shown any films. He closes his eyes and is only listening and picturing what Dr. Salim is telling. Those disturbing images are coming from his own mind. Most likely his memories.

That hat that James is wearing says specifically:
4th BCT 101st ABN DIV (AASLT)
506th INFANTRY REGIMENT
In 2008, the 101st 4th BCT Red and White "Currahee" including the 1st and the 2nd Battalions, 506th Infantry were deployed to Afghanistan. -
Well definetly better than Blops 2Tacitus thingy.
-
I'm leaning more to modern/futurish setting than the 80's. Black Ops II already covered that somewhat in it's "Old Wounds" campaing mission. And with all the articles Treyarch has been putting up about human enhancement/augmentation (video about it in my sig if click the pic ) are also pointing to more modern setting.

Okay here something I got. I think that the game might take place in Khowst Afghanistan.
US Marines conduct a mounted patrol in the Khowst-Gardez pass Afghanistan
-Wikipedia
Khowst 5 years later CIA:
506th Infantry Regiment from the 101st Airborne Division was there.
The Division Headquarters, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade (101st Aviation Regiment), 1st Brigade Combat Team (327th Infantry Regiment), 2nd Brigade Combat Team (502nd Infantry Regiment), 3rd Brigade Combat Team (187th Infantry Regiment), and 4th Brigade Combat Team (506th Infantry Regiment), and the 101st Sustainment Brigade deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. This is the first time since returning from Iraq in 2006 where all four infantry brigades (plus one CAB, SUSBDE) have served in the same combat theater. As of 5 June 2011, 131 soldiers had been killed during this deployment, the highest death toll to the 101st Airborne in any single deployment since the Vietnam War. -
Story straight out of Band of Brothers huh?
If it would have any WW2 stuff in it then the story would be splitted like in Black Ops II because of the modern gear and Blackhawk chopper we saw. Also the terrain in the shots looked like some Middle Eastern mountain range and desert. Yes Afghanistan has snow and spruces.
I was never fan of the split story in Black Ops II. I'd rather have story focusing on one side instead of leaping back and forth. I'm pretty sure it will not be about WW2 and I still don't believe it will have anything to do with MK Ultra or mind control. It would seem we are going back to events that this soldier witnessed by doctor Salim interviewing him through hypnotherapy.
-
I honestly think this has nothing to do with brainwashing or mind control. Just therapy session. Doctor Salin being the voice.

3arc posted this article on facebook 20mins ago: http://www.cnn.com/2014/04/08/tech/forget-wearable-tech-embeddable-implants/
EDIT: And this on Twitter http://mic.com/articles/113740/a-team-of-biohackers-has-figured-out-how-to-inject-your-eyeballs-with-night-vision
Edit 2: and this http://finance.yahoo.com/news/microchips-implanted-healthy-people-sooner-152916800.html
Human augmentation strongly involved?
-
Russia vs "Black Ops" soldiers aiding mujahideen soldiers.
Thats my pick for the theme
-
All things are pointing to Afghanistan the little gir looks like Afghan to me.
-
Modernish looking soldiers:
-
Well the chopper is UH-60 Blackhawk in use since 1979
-
Definetly hypnosis going there. Were Black Ops likewibes.
I'm pretty sure Black Ops teaser started with hypnosis or something like that where they tried to get Mason to remember what happened.

I'm here balancing even if the zombies are worth it to buy the next CoD. If there was pay wall to the zombies that would definetly mean I wouldn't buy the game.
-
I really didn't play anything but SnD on BO2 and ton of SnD back in Blops. It's the pinnacle of game modes in CoD. Mostlu because you don't need to deal with:
A. Stupid Spawns.
B. Getting killed by same streak over and over again.
-
Well they are always hiring. Id anyone actually wants to get actual non QA job you really need to have the education on that field.
-
It's always more fun to play games with friends. But that doesn't mean that single player games would be boring as they can be absolutely blast too.
-
I got to round 11 today on waves of despair. It's very NDU like map taking blace in Nazi bunker near beach.
-
The maps have a lot of variety and the atmosphere is awesome. The best missions are definitely the new ones. The mission structure is to go from safe house to another doing different objectives on the way. Each map also has collectibles, gold bars that you can pick up and blood bottles that you need to snipe.
There are nice variety on enemy types and there are some boss fights also. There are leader boards also for the campaign missions.
-
Is the horde mode decent? That'll be the main reason to get it

I haven't played much of it but it's very challenging for sure.
-
What the controller whispers to you, wow. It's a shame I have a xbox one. Does it satisfy your need to kill nazi zombies though?

Well in my book it's much better than Black Ops II Zombies.
