  1. Hello all, Tac here. October 20, 2010 was my first day on this forum, right before Black Ops and quite near the beginning of my comprehensible life (26 now this month). Sometimes that doesn't seem very crazy to me and then other days it seems simply incredible, I've made as close of connections to people on this forum as my closest IRL friends (and fuck off if you sneer at that like it can't be true). Per usual I feel I've thought about this post a lot as it approached but as I've come to create it, I'm more at a loss for words than expected. Real quick on that point I want to shout out @Ehjoo

If you'd prefer to watch and/or listen, you can find the companion video here Introduction With the announcement of ‘Die Maschine’, we received our formative introduction to the Zombies Storyline of Black Ops Cold War - a sequel to our previous, ten year story - dubbed ‘The Dark Aether Storyline’. For those who were paying a modicum of attention, the notion of a “Dark Aether” should be at least somewhat familiar, as it is referenced explicitly in the ending of Tag Der Toten. This, however, is far from the first explicit mention - and by delving into the realm of allusion and

Now once again, with @EricMaynard, @Bench_Appearo, and myself (as well as several others) having spend an inordinate amount of hours on it over the past few weeks, I tell you today that, just as with our previous venture into Apothicon, this was not the case. In fact, we had barely scratched the surface of the Keeper Language. WHAT WE KNEW: At first glance, it would seem we had more information about Keeper than was the case with Apothico

This list will hopefully keep growing, and feel free to suggest more resources, old and new, to add to the list. Hoping this will consolidate all these resources in one easy to find place to allow for better research. KEVIN SHERWOOD - ALONE A Lyrical Analysis They buried a well where the seven fell Our volunteers die by machine and living doors lie unforeseen now This first verse explores the key duality of the song, that of the old storyline and the new, and specifically how they are related by cause and effect. As some of you may know, “The Well”, within the context of Kevin’s music, is an abstraction of the idea of Knowledge, Mimir’s Well or the Pierian Spring, if you like. “I Am The Well” deals - among other things - with the idea of how this know

I am so excited for this time of year to be back, especially having experienced the original GKNOVA6 and all the nostalgia that comes with that. This thread seeks to serve as a primary resource when looking back at the viral campaign. First of all, I ask you to play this music while reading this thread. The mystery began with the Shangri-La mountains, something Jimmy Zielinski, the head Zombies developer at that time, started tweeting about one day. There is one mountain in Shangri La that is especially striking, seen from the rope bridge above the waterfall. This mountain range seems to resemble the mountain in the map’s load

I was an active member here a few years ago under the name "Nightmare Voyager" and then I left because I sorta got disgruntled with the Internet in general. I wasn't entirely sure I would come back, I didn't feel a need to for a long time because I very much distanced myself from the Zombies community by then. However, with the advent of the Dark Aether Story, and me slowly falling back into browsing the forum and watching the Podcast, I kind of had to come back. From uses of Latin in hidden notes in Kino to the names main crews of the storyline, the Latin language takes an undeniable part in zombies. Today I want to focus on Latin songs in zombies as well as the campaign, with a bigger focus on zombies of course. I will talk about 3 songs: Ego Vivo, Agnus Dei, and Dies Irae. Ego Vivo Ego Vivo plays during the Shadowman bossfight the SoE Easter Egg. It also plays during the BO3 campaign mission "Demon within" during the T

Mob showed us very clearly and directly what was going on in Tranzit, Die Rise and Buried: The characters stuck in an endless loop. A bit more far away, but even Tranzit itself can be seen as a metaphor for this idea, as the map itself is one big cycle with the characters trapped in it. T.E.D.D. told us all along: "Error. Error. Zombies looks to be a very interesting take with a lot of gameplay innovation, MP seems to be doing very well in the current beta, and the Campaign looks to be an exciting thrill-ride, like always. Look, I hate to be negative, because I know that Raven, Treyarch, and everyone else involved has put a ton of work into this game, and in a shorter time-frame than usual. But, something just felt very off about the reveal trailer for Cold War. It took me a while to pu

That leads to multiple questions I'm sure, but you must bare with me as I won't simply reveal everything to you all at once, I mean come on this is the Zombies community after all, if I just gave you all the answers there'd be no fun in that! Here is the quote from Tag, coming from Samantha: This quote compacts a lot. Recall the SoE note from Richtofen: So here we are introduced to the idea that there is a string holding the universe together. As Richtofen describes it, 115 is the fabric of space-time, the multiverse, what holds everything together. Whether you like him or not, you gotta give him props that he was the main guy responsible for giving Zombies a MUCH needed increase in development resources. What we’d call paranormal or magic is “merely” based on their highly advanced technology. The Chariots of the Gods are actually flying saucers based on an anti-gravity mechanism, the Gods sudden appearance on certain locations can be explained by teleportation and matter transference. Raining Hell and the Apocalypse might be referring to a thermonuclear war and weapons and staves with seemingly magic abilities are actually based on electromagnetism. As they reproduce with thousands of spores, there always is a high chance that one or several of the spores is genetically randomly mutated. If this mutant is beneficial to a certain (hazardous) environment, the mutant will thrive and reproduce even more. This is also why it is so difficult to develop fungicides to fight pathogenic fungi: resistance is not uncommon under mutants. Another example of a pre

Between 1943 and 1945, Nazi Germany spent countless resources not excluding their own prisoners (many if not most lost their lives in the process) to create seven underground structures within Germany-occupied Poland, as well as correlating air raid structures aboveground that would lead into these underground structures and labyrinths. None of these seven projects were ever completed; only crumbling remains of hardly-reinforced tunnel systems remain today of the underground systems, however this is irrelevant in this scenario because we are

This is the beginning of a theory of mine which explains how the Primis timeline exists and the unfortunate fate of not only our heroes but the entirety of existence itself. The Origins outro cutscene is somewhat confusing still, 7 years later. The idea that Samantha is playing with model toys of the Ultimus crew has always intrigued me. We see that Eddie and Sam argue about who’s turn it is to take control of their game. This is oddly sy
