game is playing on ps3

What would happen if a game is playing on ps3 and we accidentally switch off the power plug of ps3? I was at the game lobby of black ops for ps3 and i wanted to off my iphone power plug and accidentally switched off the ps3 power plug. Then i turned on my ps3 and they said something about hard drive corrupted. I continued playing game and it was fine. But will this act cause any harm to my ps3?

Not really but I would recommend that you put it in Stand-By, switch it off by the back and then unplug it to avoid any corruption.

The same thing happened to me today. I accidentally unplugged the PS3 and it said that. It also said something like it needed to restore files, and that it might take a couple of hours, so I clicked Ok, and it only took 5 min. :roll: BUT! I really don't think that it meant much. Everything seemed ok to me.
