  1. Your right @Short5tuff801 about the playability, enjoying the mode. I just feel no connection between the elements of the map

Theres no tie in between the missile, a burger joint, a sacrificial altar, and r al. At least the 3arc maps had some semblance of order too them individually, albeit collectively they are worlds apart.

  2. Well Highmoon studios mainly made this map, I blame them for coming up with the concept of Burgertown and not being able to actually make it make sense in Exo Zombies. I did make a theory on how it is all linked but I have no clue what the sewers are for.

The thing is that it could have made sense if the infection had spread from the initial facility to a near-by fast food outlet, but for Atlas to drive us out there take over the place and spend what must have been months installing a rocket silo, upgrade stations and the like, and develop a sophisticated robot Bubby.

Not to mention the time and effort that would have gone into brainwashing alligators to perform on command.

Would have been much easier to kidnap some people and bring them to the facility for this 'exercise' and mock up a normal looking place in an environment where all the equipment you want to test out is already in place.

  3. Fair point on the Value Voltage @DeathBringerZen, I looked at at as a petrol station outside an electrical shop.

That does make a little sense, but still would you take the battery out of your car to charge it? Unless you carry a spare for emergencies, IDK.

I am enjoying exo-zombies as a whole (this maybe because its the only new zombies I have access to) but the EE's and soryline seems a little thrown together with an 'anything goes' kind of attitude.

  4. Finally got around to downloading the DLC and having a play on Infection. Is it just me or is this map random as hell?

We are driven to a facility just around the corner from a fast food restaurant and dropped off, we then have to traverse our way through the sewers (straight past the alligators) to find said restaurant, which is full of atlas gear and generators. Along the way we have to collect a golden frying pan off the roof of the facility and take it to a satanic-esque alter behind a waterfall which only opens up if water is flowing through the sewer system in a certain way.

Once at the alter we proceed to place the frying pan atop it and fill the surrounding area with undead blood, the only purpose of which is to lower the pan and raise it again. The pan doesn't even go into the pit to be submerged in the zombie innards soup.

Once this is complete we go around picking up random bits of rancid meat and cook them up with a microwave gun. To hell with using the generator to wire up the stove to cook it properly, just zap it. The resulting mess is so toxic that picking it up infects you and you need to cleanse yourself.

This burger is then fed to a drive through microphone, after which we have to charge a battery up at a petrol pump (as you do) to give Bubby enough juice to hand you a key so you can climb in a giant burger to launch the missile which would obviously be inside. I mean, what else would you have in a giant burger, duh.

Then to top it off we animate Bubby (a microphone in a box) who then runs around caving in zombie skulls before doing a little dance and exploding.

I've rambled here a little, to summerise I find the following a little too random for the setting:

    • Alligators in the sewers, which we can control by flipping a switch?
    • Atlas equipment and stations installed around a fast food restaurant?
    • The Alter, and how it is accessed?
    • We Microwave raw meat? Really?
    • Bubby (a robot) can consume?
    • A petrol station with a battery charge point built in?
    • A missile in a burger sign?
    • A fully functional zombie killing robot being used just to take fast food orders?
    • I'm sure there are more...

I cannot help but feel that SH got together and threw concepts around, and then smashed them altogether to come up with this. Do we think that what we experience in Infection will be explained, or is it just random things thrown together with no forethought as to the whys or hows.

The above aside I enjoyed playing the map, I like the infected area idea, keeping you from circling one room until your thumbs are blue, plus it adds an element of 'of fuck' to proceedings when you have to start a round in the sewers. Those survivors are on their own though, tried to get the first one and fuck that for a game of soldiers. Maybe on multi-player as one guy could preoccupy all the zombies in one area without killing them giving a free run for the survivor, but if I'm running solo their screwed.

  5. I haven't downloaded the DLC yet so I'm not speaking from experience, but I have heard that you have to shoot the 'Insta-Gator' while its munching away in order to get the arm. It then sinks into the water so you have to grab it quick.

Like I said, this is just what I was told so could be way off, worth a shot though.

  6. I posted a similar thread here http://www.callofdutyzombies.com/forum/index.php/topic/178519-where-are-we-going-ee-ending/?view=findpost&p=1721002in which I detailed my thoughts on a possible expansion of the existing map.

There are "dead ends" with doors you cannot open and a lift with an upturned cart in it you cannot use. Maybe the lift takes you down further into the facility (perhaps to sub basement 1).

The only drawback would be if all the content had the same feel. They could do this though if carried out correctly. Having a bio-dome within the facility, or some kind of animal testing facility (the kennels). Not sure how they would supply the orbital drops if your below ground, but they do manage to drop them into the Exo-room already sooo.....

  7. CODZ is an oasis in a desert of cruel internet forums.

This is why I love this forum, although I don't post much I've always felt welcomed and that my opinions matter. Sure discussing topics that people are so passionate about can get heated, but despite this I have always felt a sense of decorum amongst the CoDZ members.

Being a lurker by nature (and not in a creepy way) I don't often post and on most other sites I've encountered this in itself can lead to confrontation. On other sites members would lambaste any post I made on the premise that because I don't post every two minutes my opinion is less valid, or due to the fact that I'm not part of the clique I can go f*ck myself.

  8. maybe even add big Easter eggs to the maps.

    This right here.

They have worked the original maps into the storyline by looking back at them, but bringing back the maps would give them opportunity to reaaly flesh it out. Add some depth to whats already canon.

That being said I would prefer new to remastered if done right (by which I mean not BLOPS2). I like how BLOPS did it, a zombie dedicated DLC with 1 new map and the classics. This would be the best case senario I think.

A good compromise would be to have a new map per DLC as is the norm, and then for the last one just give us the remakes.

I didn't even entertain playing zombies until the back end of BLOPS, and feel like I missed loads. Sure I've since gone back and played through, but thats not the same. Everything is known to you, EE's; storyline; even down to the littlest of quotes.

Expanding on the EE's with new storylines and additional intel on whats already known would really revitalise the zombies, and give those of us who missed out last time to really emmerse themselves into the game. It would give new life to the undead.

  9. There are a hell of a lot of glitchers but its fun to knock them out of the glitch and watch them running around in a panic.

How do you do this? I cannnot get them off of that damn workstation in the hub for love nor money. never seen anyone using the glitch in the hub, but the one in the holding bay you can walk under the the glitcher look up at him and jump. he will fall down, it might take a couple a jumps but you can do it pretty much every time. I've done it in the mourge too, same method but its not as easy Nice, i'll bare this in mind next game. Cannot believe you haven't seen the hub glitch in use. Every damn game I play with randoms theres always one derp just sat there.
  10. Whether Sledgehammer intentionally left it out or it was a genuine "mistake" is irrelevant in the whole debate

I have to disagree with you here. I have based my thoughts on the assumption that the pause feature not being available as an oversight. However if it was intentionally left out of the game that would change things. Taking a little break if a pause should not be an option would be wrong. If SH's intention was to have a "one sitting" game then it should be just that.

Perhaps one should not assume too much. I do think it was an oversight though, considering they are now looking to rectify it.

My reference to ranked play and glitching was a little tongue in cheek. I do not condone glitching to benefit in the game however the "pause glitch" we're referring too really cannot be referred to as cheating.

  11. Wow, theres some strong opinions on this subject. Personally I don't think that jumping into a glitch to take a wee or grab a bag of crisps or something is anything to frown upon.

However (and I'm just playing devils advocate here) would it be considered ok for me to jump into a glitch 2 minutes into a ranked play match because someone it at the door? Would this be an IRL issue effecting my game in the same manner. I appreciate that multiplayer doesn't have a pause feature, but neither does Exo-Zombies.

Like I said, personally I don't see it as an issue, I just like stirring the pot.

If you were to review someones gameplay and you saw a 2 min rest-bite every 3-4 rounds, always at the end of rounds where zombies are no real threat, its pretty clear thats a break for a 'piss n a pancake' or whatever. Its clear when there is and isn't an intent to exploit the flaws in a game.

  12. @LORD GRRR That you for sharing your findings, you have opened my eyes a little. I generally only play late at night (damn wife and kids), and as such don't really get into too high a round. 36 is my highest to date. I think that by the time I hit round 30 I'm spent and as such I perhaps wasn't noticing the impact of the upgrade as much.

Played yesterday in the afternoon as I was off work and for the first time ever pulled an IMR from the box, and @InfestLithium I see now why you champion this gun. If you have a decent secondary (I had Mahem) you never need a max ammo again, by the time all zombies are gathered and blasted with the mahem a couple of times you have printed yourselves a new mag of ammo. Its mighty powerful too compared to the other Assault Rifles.

So I ran the IMR to Mk25 and it performed really well, granted I died on round 32 by insisting to myself going back for that insta-kill (sorry hyper-doo da) was a wise choice, but a couple of bursts at head height and 1 or 2 zombies will drop. Wasn't bad at all.

I still don't feel like the EE is worth it, yeah @Too Playa is easily done, but I cannot do it without 5 trips minimum to the incinerator. I can just never find that damned card in there, takes ages. I try for the EM1 and take that in with me, I figured not needing to reload would help me spam the X, but it takes ages, nipping in round after round to try again. I bet this step costs me around 3000-4000 points per game with all the chutes.

I agree with what LORD GRRR said at the start of this thread :

I don't think performing the EE is worth the hassle as the most efficient way of wasting zombies

I have never really run traps mainly because I'm not a high round player, my highest ever on any zombies map is 45 on MoTD. I do feel however that if I was to run for a high round then Mk 20 and traps would be the way to go. The EE slows the game down, and being that I don't get on until around 10 pm that is the last thing I want to do.

To summarise, my thoughts are that if you are playing for an hour or so just dicking about with some friends, then Mk25 is ok. However if you are pushing for a new PB then its not really worth the hassle. I does feel counter-intuitive though to 'keep a weaker weapon' when pushing for higher rounds.

  13.

I'd leave a little more time then 5 seconds, each time you get hit while infected takes 5 secs off the timer.

This is true, wasn't thinking whilst typing (very dangerous behavior I know). I would also note that if you can hang in the Exo Room during the infected round, then the Trash Chute leads you directly to the decontamination area. This way you are there but the zombies are not, making getting 'clean' a little easier.

On topic, made it to round 36 last night, although I could probably gone higher still. I was foolish to think starting a game at midnight was a wise move, by 2:45 I was a Zombie which lead to many a foolish error of judgement.

  14. Hi all at CoDZ.

I've completed the easter egg 3 times now and have had 5 weapons upgraded to Mk25. They were the Bal, ASM1, ARX, AE4, and Mahem.

I have to be honest and say that I really don't notice any real difference. I was hoping that the 5 level jump in power would have a markedly noticeable difference, but alas twas not to be.

It feels just like another 1 level, so much so that I think they should reclassify it as Mk21 and be done with it. When Outbreak first launched and the egg was cracked (excuse the pun) I was running the steps every game to get the additional upgrade station opened. Now I don't bother at all, its just not worth it.

The opened machine should upgrade your weapon for it to still be viable past round 30. As it stands its like chucking peas at a rhino, all your doing is pissing them off.

This station should have a more Pack-a-Punch'y feel to it. I'm quite fond of the gradual upgrade method SH have applied, I just feel that for the effort of obtaining the new station a greater reward would be more fitting.

SH: I danced for you like a good little monkey, now gimme my damn banana.

So whats your guys thoughts on Mk25? Worth the hassle? Have any weapons suprised you when you have upgraded them to Mk25, be it good or bad. I'm sure the AE4 got nerfed by that damn machine when I used it.

  15. My best is 27 on solo, 25 as a group of 3. It is harder than 3arc that's for sure.

:edit: specifically does anyone have any tips for the infected zombie rounds?  that seems to be my downfall, i go down literally every time in that round

If your lucky enough to get Camo from a drop then save it, group the zombies etc like normal, but if you get infected fire that bad boy up. Also don't forget you get 60 seconds to decontaminate so if you get to the platform with 40 odd seconds left don't use it. Stand on it and kill kill kill until you have around 4-5 seconds left.

    Edit: I cannot spell

  16. I'm going to say they go to Vegas. Not because it makes sense, but because I wanna see stripper zombies!

But really, they probably make there way to the basement at sub level 6 that probably leads to a underground train station. And where does it lead? Vegas baby! Lol.

    Stripper Zombies...

Edit: Removed generic "Stripper Zombie Pic" as it took up half the thread. Did not realise how big that was.

  17. As cool as it sounds, the environments would end up looking too "samey" and could be off putting. It really depends on how they did it I suppose. I would not be against an idea like this myself.

Yeah that would be my main concern too. Suppose it depends what type of facility we are in. They could have a botanical garden in there or something to mix things up.

Edit: All I can think about now are Zombie Venus Fly-Traps.

  18. The Easter Egg ends with with our salvation flying in to the sublime musical stylings of Wagner echoing through the air, only for all hopes of escape to be dashed by Atlas' very poor (or very well) timing of an Orbital Drop.

So to answer the question where are we going, it looks like the answer is going to be... nowhere, and perhaps this is true to an extent.

I think that the following three maps will be in the same area, looking at 'Outbreak' there are numerous door around the map which do not open, but are not used as Zombie spawn locations.

Maybe, just maybe, the next DLC will commence directly after the Warbird crash and we will progress into the next area of the facility. Continuing further and deeper into the facility until we climax at the source of the outbreak, sub-station 6 was it? I can't remember and I'm too lazy to look it up.

We are assuming that Sledgehammer will follow Treyarch and give us a new map with each update, but lets think outside the box (or is that outside the 3D Printer now?? IDK I'm confussed). Its entirely plausible that instead of a new map per DLC we get an expansion to Outbreak. Making the environment larger with each new addition.

What do you all think? Will we follow the traditional 1 map per DLC route, or will expansions be the way forward? Also, which would you prefer?

For me I think separate maps are probably better. Even if in the same facility new maps could be for different areas of the building. However expansion could be good if done correctly, but I'm not sure how enjoyable starting in the same room over and over again for the rest of the year would be.

  19. Thanks @PINNAZ, and thanks for the BRAINS.

I remember a lot of talk about brains when I was here last, but they had stopped handing them out. Good to see they returned.

I will have to look into getting my medals back, I'm too vain not too. Not that they were that impressive. I noticed the old Medal Request Thread isn't there to call upon, I will have to go and retake some pics.
