I always find myself trading out the Mauser. It sounds weak as :/
-
I find it amusing how people will argue about the shape of a blood pattern on the wall or discrepancies of what they perceive as the storyline yet guns are so easily cast aside.
Guns should be a factor into timeline theories. They should only be discarded if there is no reasonable alternative. That goes for anything when deciding canon. You only mark something as non-canon when given no choice.
I agree. However Treyarch seem to get far too lazy with weapons in the maps.
-
Argh! Stop arguing about the weapons. The weapons have nothing to do with the time and location of the maps. The only reason their are weapons from the campaign is because they are already coded into the game. To bring the weapons from Black Ops into Black Ops 2 zombies would take a huge amount of memory.
-
I remember a window from Kino that would always have two boards up and the zombies ignored them. Haven't experienced this in Black Ops 2 however.
-
It simply can't end. Ending zombies would cause a massive riot within the Call of Duty community. Also, Treyarch has 2 incomplete stories to finish.

New wonder weapon! You hold a repeater and shoot zombies with it!Also has anyone seen the connection that in Plants vs zombies the final boss was a giant robot?... Suspicious...Upgraded it becomes a Gatling pea
Best. Theory. Ever.

I hope we aren't forgetting the aspect of time travel. Time travel would have aged their appearences but in reality they are still as fit as they were before time travelling. Seeing as the O4 time traveled a lot their appearances could certainly have been afflicted.
-
Perhaps since Richtofen experimented on them their age no longer makes a difference? Like their abilities far exceed their would be abilities at that age.
-
Possibly for the Easter Egg or how to open Pack-A-Punch!?
-
Do you think maybe be became necrophilic after the first world war? Perhaps we see him slowly become more crazier the longer we play? That would be so awesome.
-
The way I would describe it is that before touching the pyramid, he was sadistic. After touching it, he became insane and hearing voices. I expect to see the sadistic Richtofen.
I wouldn't go as far as to say sadistic. Just perhaps necrofilic and nihilistic, perhaps. But we'll see soon enough.
I can see him rambling on about spleen at least once. :D

I have also rematches the trailer multiple times. It looks as though the "beam of light" shooting out of its tail is simply a rain droplet falling past.

Zeppelins were utilised in World War 1 for bombing runs. The Germans had two main manufacturers of these, the Schutte-Lanz Company, and the larger and better known Zeppelin Company. Throughout 1914 these were used for reconnaissance patrols over the North Sea, but the German Admiralty was pressing for permission to use them for attacks against England. The first Zeppelin raid upon England took place on January 19, 1915. The ship used was named the Kaiser. Similar attacks had been taken out on France. Particularly Paris and Calais.
These Zepplins could be put in the game for much the same reason that the planes were. As scenery. Although it would be cool for them to be used as a new utility in the game.
-
They weren't necessarily "crazy" especially Richtofen. He became crazy AFTER he touched the pyramid on moon.
-
Okay so we all should know by now that the new Origins map will be set BEFORE everything. Before Richtofen experimented on the O4. Will this affect the old characters we all know and love? Dempsey is always angry. Nikolai is drunk. Takeo recites proverbs.
Richtofen's experimentation caused this. So without these side effects from their being experimented on, are our characters going to be boring and normal? We know they will be badass in the first place because would Richtofen team up with them because they are weak? I doubt it.
On another note. Would this be set before Richtofen went crazy from touching the mysterious pyramid on the moon? I hope this map will work on the O4's character development alot.

Okay guys so we now know there will be no anagram.
FEAR was the anagram/easter egg which Treyarch imputed into the names of the Black Ops map packs. This was because the feeling of fear played a huge factor in the Cold War. Black Ops was set during the cold war. Simple as that.

-this next chapter in the Zombies legacy will explore the saga’s origins as players reunite with an unlikely band of soldiers that come together to defeat the greatest evil the world has ever seen, using a period-specific arsenal
They do this to pump people up for the DLC especially since it's the last one. Remember Moon? They told us we'd have a "brand new arsenal of weapons" and all we received was the Wave Gun.
-
As much as a zombies only game would be awesome I wouldn't like it. The 2-3 month long wait between Treyarchs DLC is awesome. It gives us all time to think about the maps before and to make future theories.
-
I love your idea, infact, I have thought of much the same thing. I'd like to see said wonder weapon malfunction (eg. accidentaly harm the player, jam, or overheat) randomly. It would add an incredible new element to the game.Well the fact that the DG-2 was the "perfected" model suggests that the DG-1 was flawed and consequently scrapped. If we use a DG prototype it will likely be very powerful yet restrictive and it might hurt the player, or be a pain to use. Overall I'd like the idea.Edit: post 2935!

I was thinking about that actually.Don't think so... At that time, Fluffy hasn't been zombified. I'm sure she hasn't even been born, for that matter.Besides, I think the Big Daddy lookalike zombie will be the boss for this map. No need for Hellhounds to show up.
If there are small Survival/Grief maps included, then maybe. But then again, Nuketown and Mob of the Dead didn't have any options for Hellhound either, so it's unlikely they're putting one in for Origins.

So we all know that this map takes place in World War 1. So more than likely we may be seeing the return of Hellhounds. What do you guys think of this? Maybe they won't be in the canon version but could be put in for custom games?
-
I believe you're thinking about this too much. Having a weapon already coded into the campaign, multi-player and zombies would be easier to put into a map than having to re-skin and re-texture all of the weapons so they look like they are from that certain time period. Having a weapon appear in a map doesn't determine the exact date that the map takes place in.

Ahhh I see what you guys mean. My mistake. :)
BOOMHILDA vs Mustang & Sally
in Origins
Posted
That is the whole point of zombies. To be hard to play. Far too many people used Mustang and Sally and the Porters X2 Ray Gun along with PHD Flopper, and when shit hits the fan they aim at the ground and shoot to their hearts content. I like how challenging the game is and that's what makes it enjoyable to most players.
