Honestly, the N4 was useless throughout Black Ops 2. Tranzit, and Die Rise are the least story driven maps and it makes the characters look bad. In Tranzit they were all annoying, Misty wouldn't shut up sometimes. But they progressed in development, which is how it's supposed to be. But when I really look at Tranzit, Die Rise, and Buried, it just feels like it was a waste to use them. I've said this before, Treyarch could have easily kept the O4 for Black Ops 2, but decided on new characters which is perfectly fine.
But in the end, the strong hatred of the characters were digging at Treyarch, and I believe it screwed up the story a bit. WaW, and Black Ops had some of the best narrative I've ever witnessed. It was all truly engaging and in a way, believe able. But Black Ops 2 became a cluster fest of trying to out do themselves. I just wish the N4 had a proper story line, unless it continues. I really am disappointed with Black Ops 2 storyline, Origins has really nothing to do with what was going on in the other maps, so it's a stand alone map, same with MOTD.
It reminds me of the show True Blood, in the beginning, it was simple and genuine. Now it's just too much, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. In the end, I think they should just make a new storyline. Don't screw up any further than they have already, which I believe they did. The next zombies experience should just be a fresh start, and Treyarch should take the time to fully flesh out a new story without making it up as they go, which in my opinion, was the reason it just didnt work in the end.

They all have a unique atmosphere. I suppose if you're going for scary atmosphere, you'd go for MotD, Verruckt, etc.
For a tranquil beauty one, you'd go for Shangri-La, Die Rise, etc.
For a dank and dirty one, you'd go for Kino, Buried, etc.
Really it all depends what your looking. They're all unique. Not to mention they have a seperate story-ish atmosphere. For example, TranZit's atmosphere fits well because of the story at that point.
Amazing answer.

My post is still alive! I guess we won't know what happens after all of this now, I feel like the cut scene is just not enough to explain what's happening. Moon was a better Easter egg, but I have yet to play Origins so the gameplay could be different.
-
I mean, I like the ending. But it's still a in a way, a cop out. Obviously Nikolai, Dempsey, and Takeo can't be real now since they were just toys. Same with the N4. The only thing that makes me believe that this ending has more to it is the Group 935 sign.

I'm so happy that Richtofen sounds like he did before he touched the MPD. I'm curious to know how he used to be.
-
A zombie weilding a MP40 and shooting it? They're really amping this up eh?
-
It doesn't even sound like Samantha to begin with. Either voices.

I honestly think which ending we got during Buried affects Origins. Only because in the new update, all of my progress got erased except when I go into the maps, my towers are still lit up. And the box in Buried shows my progress. I feel like Treyarch has a reason for it. Or maybe it's a mistake, but a lot of people have the same issue so.
However it could mean the opposite as well though, they took it out because it has no relevance and therefore has no reason for it to be there as it could cause confusion.
However I think that when Origins comes out the origins logo will be in northern France, which will be in the middle of all 3 EE locations. I think that if you have pressed the button on the box there will be three "lines" leading from each EE location to France
Just my idea
I'm just hoping it wasn't a mistake and it gives us a cool Easter egg.

A lot of twist endings aren't referenced beforehand. I think the idea of going to Agartha to find a different Samantha would be neat, a nice ending actually. But, that wouldn't be the case, seeing as how Maxis acknowledges Samantha is/was in Richtofen's body, which we know is the little girl Samantha.
Also, that was a pretty rude thing to say about the Maxis Sr./Jr. idea. Like I said, it was an idea that I didn't really believe in myself.
It was a bit rude, but you can't have an ending like that unless it wasn't thought out enough.
-
Hahaha
Seriously though if Maxis met a Vryl-Ya called Samantha who was exiled from Agartha, they conceived a child, which was then born and was named after her mother, a Samantha Junior so to speak. However the other Vryl-Ya learnt of this and took Samantha Senior back to Agartha, where they imprisoned her. Then the events of the games continued till we get to Buried where Maxis wants us to free Samantha from Agartha. However it's not Samantha Junior but Samantha Senior that needs freedom
Just my theory
Not to be an ass but that's a really dumb ending. I mean, we have never gotten a clue of another Samantha, other than Maxis's daughter. It's like the Maxis senior and Maxis junior theory, it's just dumb and would only make sense to people who aren't clever. I'm pretty sure Treyarch can come up with a ending much more fitting than something like that.
-
So they couldn't get her to use an accent?
-
At least "Little Lost Girl" confirms it's the real Samantha, not someone else like people have even theorizing.
-
I just watched a theory video, and they mentioned a time loop theory. And he showed how they all seemed to recoginze each other. And when Richtofen looks at his hands, it's because he's wondering why he can remember this. Deja vu. And how Tank went straight to Richtofen because he seems to know something sinister about him.
-
I was expecting something from these achievements.
-
I'm curious if he has an account!
-
I agree with everyone here, Richtofen will not be as insane and power hungry as we are used to him being, he will be more sane, calculated, probably more on the normal albeit eccentric and sinister side, can seem completely normal until he is slaughtering Zombies limb by limb, then he might get a bit sadistic, but overall he will be normal "for Richy that is "
I want to make a thread seeing if people can guess what the old Richtofen will say and te rest of the characters :p
-
Richtofen is the most interesting one at this point. If we go back to the Der Reise and Moon radios, he has a much more normal voice, and isn't a high pitched maniac. I feel if they go back to the way he was before, he'd be a little more sinister but it'll be subtle. Something along the lines of a Hannibal Lector type character, which I would actually like.

perhaps this is the map we can break the cycle? the very beginning, is the very end?
What if after all the story up to buried came to play, edward transported himself back in time to his old self, thus creating the time rift, making a cycle that goes to buried, always ends with having to start from the beginning. perhaps the easter egg will take part in breaking the cycle, and the 04 have a showdown Arlington style.
Take out Edward, final wave of zombies, the cycle is broken. The outbreak is contained and neutralized.
Edward takes out the 03, he captures them, resuscitate them with 115, the cycle continues....
I like this.

No, I think it is heavily linked with the puzzled look on his face. You can't ignore that. I'm just saying it carries further than simply saying "He looks puzzled".
He looks straight, then left, then right, so I think he natural next look would be upwards to analyze the situation. Although he does seem to come out of a different state, so to speak, as if he goes in and out of modes.
Exactly. It's natural.

Great points you two. Maybe everything that we have come to know has nothing to do with Samantha, or maybe Samantha is someone entirely different, or perhaps a project of some sort. The voice over in the trailer saying "I'm Samantha" doesn't sound even sound like a lady; much less a little girl. :?
The devil dog thing is interesting because there are the hell-hounds in zombies. This all dates back to the governments of Germany and America. Richtofen was in Five. I just don't see exactly why...... Yet.
I'm not sure if you got it but I friend requested you on PSN a while ago, I know you have Kino but that's fine, I'd rather play that than Tranzit.
Hey you,
I haven't been on my PS lately. Thank You for telling me this. I will get on there today and hopefully we can all play some Kino Der Toten. 8-) I don't have a Mic on PlayStation, but I can follow and determine what everyone likes to do and their play style.
No mic? Awe man, alright. I'll send you message when I'm on!

Wow. I've just found the video in this thread, Where it says "I'm Samantha". Well, there goes my thoughts.... Now, I am completely lost. How could she even be thought of in 1918 if she was about 8 years old in the 40's? :? Weird. Weird stuff.
Remember Samantha's room in Kino? WAAAAY back then. Remember the original four as "dolls" set up around a "playset" with the teddy bear staring at them. That was in Samantha's "Normal" room. In the "demonized" room the characters were gone and everything was messed up.
Also, remember the lullaby in Der Reise way back in WaW?
What if what we are playing, experiencing, is all part of a narration, a story as told by Samantha. It all began when she wanted to "play a game"...
Just a possibility though...
Her saying I'm going to tell you how this all really began, sorta worries me about the previous maps. Was everything we experienced in Black Ops and WaW, in someone else's perspective?

Dempsey isn't as angry in the letter, but he still has those quips that we love. Tank actually seems well spoken as well.
Origins ending mentioned in previous maps

Good find! I actually just got done playing Kino, and I was reminded of Origins when I played through. I'll have to check it out and look for that board game.
