I will say that quests have become a big part of zombies, yet survival has become harder and the new customization kind of let's you set up survival matches only quite well. Once you have everything unlocked that is.

I hope we get more things to unlock in updates/DLC.  I don't want to be like those people who reach master prestige before DLC pack 1 comes out...

Of course I haven't played it so my words have hardly weight but it seems it has ton of stuff that needs to be collected, upgraded and so forth just like in Black Ops II. Things that make the survival in each game feel secondary objective. Those things really pushed me away from zombies in Black Ops II so I couldn't see myself liking Shadows of Evil or Black Ops III zombies (knowing each map will be pretty much the same scavenger hunt of objects) for long. Which is shame. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Surprisingly, surviving is very hard.  In black ops 2, you could just train and do whatever you wanted.  In SoE, the zombies can spawn ahead of where you're running, it makes it a lot more difficult.  Personally I haven't had much time to go on a scavenger hunt.

  3. I really hope we don't see anymore re-made maps. I'm all for nestalgia, but I didn't pay 110$ to play slightly diffrent versions of the same map. Honestly even the giant is starting to look like der-reise without the PPSH, Double barrel, and tommy gun....

My theory is that with each DLC they'll have a big map, then a remake, similar to how they did moon and the WaW maps, but spread out.  Kino would be DLC 1, Ascension would be DLC 2, Shangri La would be DLC 3, Moon would be DLC 4.  It would be a creative way to bring the old maps to the newer systems.  I'm not sure if they'd do Call of the Dead, unless they got the old celebs back or cut them all together...

  4. Is it just me or is anyone else disappointed with the fact that there are no achievements or trophies for this map?  It looks like such an awesome map, but it'd be a bummer to do a cool Easter egg and not get any credit for it.

It seems like a direction they could possibly be going in is remastering the Black Ops 1 maps with the younger characters.  DLC pack 1 being Kino, 2 being Ascension, 3 being Shangri La, and 4 being Moon.  That's just speculation, but I hope if they did, they'd get some kind of achievement list.

  5. None of what you listed is what I hate about this map, and it certainly isn't because Treyarch didn't make it (I love custom maps).

First off, it's small and feels uninspired. It's more or less a couple of boxes with a sewer underneath. Yeah yeah, Nacht was only 3 rooms but it was alright, but you can't say that, because that was Nacht. It's been done.

Next, I hate how they reused a bunch of the exact same components, such as the ATMs, Trash Chutes, Infectors, EMZs, no new perks. The only real things they've added are the traps, but other than that, nothing. The gas cloud thing feels like a modified Infector round, and the Survivors feel like a cheap way to make us use that stupid upgrade system (you get awarded a free weapon upgrade for every survivor rescued), which leads me to my next complaint.

Only like, 2 people actually liked that weapon upgrade system in Outbreak. So you know what Sledgehammer decided to do? Nothing! Instead of listening to the community, they used the same failed idea again. And you can say "oh, in my opinion, I liked it", but it's completely obvious to everyone, not many other people do.

Lastly, I don't like how much they overdid special rounds. I notice this in some custom community maps and don't like it there either (so it's not just Sledgehammer guys), we've got Dog rounds, Infector rounds, Goliath rounds, Survivor rounds, Gas rounds, it feels very overwhelmingly overdone.

It's safe to say that after getting the achievements, I probably won't ever touch that map again. And I don't hate it because Sledgehammer made it, I hate it because it's just not fun and feels very lazy. Seems like the people who defend these maps are just defending because it's Sledgehammer (they're the ones who keep bringing that "you just hate it cuz it's not Treyarch" crap). Whatever floats your boat, go with, but don't tell me the reasons you think I don't like it.

  6. I don't really like it. The devs seem kinda lazy to me with this map. Still some random airvents to escape in, same old perks (as far as I'm aware), same lame weapon upgrading system, still a smallish map, and it seems like they threw in that stupid survivor mechanic in whatever way they could. Think about it. Does it really make sense for a lonely IT specialist who's only just fired her first gun the day prior to go around saving survivors? Even with all four players present it makes no sense, especially since the whole point of Outbreak was to escape themselves. That whole "we're cut off!" song and dance Malkovich does makes absolutely no sense, there's a warbird picking up other survivors. Just feels like they didn't really think it through. Or did and were too lazy to change anything.

  7. So they didnt die. Interesting.

I like how we actually have a reason of why they arent dead. Like, in regular zombies, you assume you go down, end of game. But in reality, you finish ee and survive. Cool here how they explain what happe ed AFTER being overrun

We know they wouldn't die. I've said this SO many times...

They released back in early February just after when the mode first came out that these characters/actors would return. I have said it OVER and OVER. Why do people still think these guys will die? It's not like it's just me either, this was released information! Just a little research was needed to find this out.... -Rant terminated-

In the interview for Outbreak the guy said all four maps would be about these characters' stories.

  8. The only thing I don't like from these achievements are the rescue ones. The way there worded makes it seem if the extraction mode is going to be implemented into the core mechanic.

I like Easter eggs in zombies. But not required objectives. And rescuing someone sounds required

  9. I have to put my opinion in here.  Micro DLCs and transactions have completely ruined gaming in my opinion.

Be that on iOS, Android, PC, Xbox or PS.  PC is definitely better than the others, and it helps that the prices are lower to begin with.

I could talk about this topic for days, seriously.

The losers in the end are all gamers.  We have basically given tactile consent to game makers to fuck us over with glitched and incomplete games on release.  We have become part of their official Q&A team, using social media to see what is wrong with their own game.

Then they appear to fix issues which were their own fault to begin with, and are able to gain credit for that!

This is an important issue in gaming right now, and I'm not going to avoid it.  Sorry Werf, I understand that you are fine with micro DLCs - tbh, I am in a way, I allow my son a certain amount on his batman game on my phone, new characters and the whatnot.

That's just me wanting to keep him happy though.  They definitely have more of a place in mobile games.

And I've always been ok with them for non functional changes - camos, skins etc.  As soon as they become game changing, they are wrong.

But this one adds armory slots and new create a class options?  That's too far.

If Treyarch introduces micro DLCs anywhere near the zombie mode in the new game, I just won't be playing it.

Edit - brilliant example of how this acceptance of DLC has fucked the industry - http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2015/02/10/upset-fans-lash-out-over-evolve-dlc-lack-of-content/

Brand new game has day one DLC content equating to the same value as the game itself.

http://i.imgur.com/466TQCr.png?4- Clearly though it works, as shown by this guys response.  I don't believe that game makers have managed to get it to the point where people defend their day one broken games and accuse people who don't like it of being too entitled.  If too entitled is paying £/$60 and expecting something to work as is with no additional purchase needed then yes I'm entitled.

Remember original Xbox and PS2 games where they actually had to work hard to make near flawless games because once they were released, there was no fixing anything? You'd think gaming would have progressed, but it seems like all the games that are released now are either incomplete, poorly revised, or are based around an unoriginal idea (like a new space game, almost identical to halo, but with a different name, and elements from CoD 7, Dead Space 3, and Skyrim 5!)... and more often than not a mix of all 3. And what's up with most games having a constant AI companion with infinite health?! Totally kills the mood.

  10. What perk machines had going for them is

    1- 935 scientist WERE in shangri-la

2- Perks are fueled by 115 and therefor can be wherever sam wants them to be.

There is no aetheric magic in exo-zombies so location really does matter.

Well if a 3D printer wanted to be on an African Safari, I don't see any rule saying he can't be.

Seriously though, I liked the way Treyarch really involved conspiracy theories with their maps. It's be cool if one of the maps took place in the underground military facility under the Denver Airport, maybe starting off in the airport itself, and the Exo Suits being found in the facility. It'd be a crazy huge map and would take a lot of time to make, but CoD's got the money and resources. Make it happen!!! Put Treyarch's maps and Outbreak to shame! The series needs a crazy huge map, especially with the chaos Exo Zombies delivers.

  11. Another reason I feel like the developers sort of copped out was the in game economy. I'm not saying Buried or Die Rise was much better (in fact it's what I hated about those maps), but Outbreak just had a special way of making you think that points are important... Once you get all your perks and a decent gun (plenty of those), there's nothing else to spend your points on... Except for a cheap upgrade or three. Cheap upgrades that'll drain your points but not necessarily do anything special. Just keep your head slightly above water.

That's what I liked about Black Ops 1. You never got 15,000 points saved up. By the time you've got near that amount, your Pack a Punched HK and secondary Wonder Weapon'll be out of ammo and underpowered, forcing you to make the decision of getting a new gun and losing the best ammoless guns, or hold out for a Max Ammo. That's personally what I enjoyed about original Zombies, it seems that that sense of taking a chance has been lost.

  12. I'll put it another way for you, I spent £50 ($75 roughly) on the game and a further £35 ($53) on the DLC for me, then for my sons DLC a further £35 ($53). I spent over £120 ($180) on a game that I only want one mode from (Zombies) - it has failed to delivery any value for me at the moment.

Just for me and excluding my son, I have spent £85 ($130) on a game that has delivered nothing substantial (for me) and so far has been a wasted investment and I'll find it extremely difficult to recoup my investment. I can honestly say, if Treyarch are forced to make zombies DLC only next season - I won't buy it. I'll be done investing in Activision and will wish them a painful and fast demise for ripping of their customers.

You are a very smart person @Hells Warrrior . And I'm not just saying that because you have the same opinion as I do..... Honest!

  13. To be honest, I'm getting bored with it already, the weapons stink (even upgraded), players are glitching left right and centre, people refuse to open doors and can take 6 rounds before someone opens one (I'll happily move from spawn after round 3, but I'm not being the only one to use my points).

Going to get a weapon and if not doing the easter egg and someone has the EM1, they shoot the bloody 3D printer and you get no gun but a card (if you take it).

It's certainly a relief to be playing something new but it lacks imagation and it lacks longevity (not the mode, the map) to be completely honest.

Again, it just feels like for the price we paid for the base game + the season pass, and knowing how much how much the CoD franchise makes, we didn't really get all that much. We PAID, good money, so we shouldn't be saying "well it's a great first start", or "well at least it's something". And while the first couple of games were fun, like @Hells Warrrior said, it gets boring! We deserved a helluva lot more. Just because we're loyal fans, doesn't mean we should have to mindlessly defend and support what Sledgehamner has produced for us so far. We should be only be raising the bar, encouraging improvement.

  14. So far, exo zombies hasn't had the appeal I had hoped for. Don't get me wrong. The game mode was fun, at first, with all the new features, but it just hasn't had my attention like zombies always has. I'd like to list some of the things that make this game mode disappointing. I hope to get some of your feedback, as well as additions to this list.

    1. Lack of pause feature on solo.

I'm not sure what they were thinking on this one. How can anyone play this seriously without having to use the bathroom or taking a short break?

    #1 Problem thus far

    2. The weapons are terrible.

The weapons have a small variety to chose from. Most of them don't get much better fully upgraded either.

The weapons are the same from the Multiplayer, just as Treyarch does with their weapons. That's the point?

    3. The 'wonder weapon' isn't the best weapon in the game.

The cel-3 cauterizer is a very cool weapon, but isn't amazing fully upgraded. I upgraded the S-12 and the cauterizer and found that the S-12 was much better as the rounds progressed.

It's hella-strong; however, it was never advertised to be a clone of a wonder weapon. People keep calling it that but it was just a unique gun. It's OHK when upgraded to even an Mk5 til Round 28 - how is that not awesome?

    4. The easter egg achievement for the map was anticlimactic.

    Enough said.

    Achievement =/= in-game reward.

    5. The easter egg reward was anticlimactic, as well.

All that for 5 gun levels that don't improve the weapon all that much.

You wouldn't think so, but have you tried using it with weapons like the MAHEM, Cauterizer, IMR, Crossbow, Pytaek, etc? Don't knock it until you try it.

    6. Lack of creativity with boss rounds.

I think they could of thought of a better reward on boss rounds other than a max ammo for both of them. The infection round was a cool idea, but they could of had something better than a max ammo.

So your complain is the rewards, not the actual boss rounds...huh. What did you want - a trophy?

    7. Lack of smaller easter egg extras.

I keep hoping to see a new video of a small extra for the map, but I haven't seen anything. Most of the zombies maps from Treyarch have had multiple songs and something extra you could obtain from a smaller side quest. I think it's lazy to have so little in the map. There are only 3 more dlcs and I'm already bored with the first map.

You can't compare Sledgehammer to Treyarch when they make different modes loosely based off the same style of zombies.

    8. The map is small and similar to the design of Kino der Toten.

Two loops into a center area. One smaller secret area

And that's a problem? People loved Kino der Toten, and people loved FIVE. Don't cry about small maps not being fun.

    9. Walk-in, game-breaking glitches on day one.

How long has Call of Duty been around and you still can't fix glitches? Hire some people who actually play the game to test it before you release it

Oh, so that means Treyarch fixed all their glitches? Nope. I can go into any of their maps and find a glitch that is well-known but never fixed. You can't stop all the glitches; there's always one when another is patched.

    10. A non-existent leaderboard.

This is the biggest piece of s*** I've ever seen. I have no interest in playing games for the leaderboard

There is a leaderboard, but it relies on score rather than rounds.

    11. Zombies die off automatically over time.

WTF. This has already ruined the game. Find one wall breach glitch and leave your system on. I can't even believe this wasn't noticed before release.

Just like Black Ops 2. Don't complain like it's something new.

    12. The achievements are way too easy.

I managed to get all the achievements within two days. Come on.

All Achievements in Treyarch Zombies were easy, since you like comparing Exo-Zombies to regular Zombies. Of course it's not going to be hard.

I'm sorry but I had to rail into this.

    This is not Treyarch's Zombies.

PSA to everyone: stop acting like it is. Let Sledgehammer do their own thing. Just becaused it was based off our favorite Zombies gameplay doesn't mean they have to develop the same damn mode to please everyone.

It sort of seems like you're just defending it because you're a fan... And while loyal fans are great and all, but you could be cheering Sledgehammer off a cliff... It seems like more people didn't really like it than did..

  15. My biggest pet peeve: "This isn't Treyarch Zombies". Yeah, well why did they make everything exactly the same only get rid of the best parts? Because it's just a knockoff they didn't (or couldn't because of copyright reasons?) go all the way with. Exo suits, story, and map variety was the only thing SH should've touched to make it like their own. Not perks, the exact same power ups by giving them stupid names, the weapon upgrade system, and giving us a tiny map for $110 that's been done already
