  1. What the hell.

I mean honestly, what are they thinking! You can't just SWITCH the DLC "exclusivity" (Which is about the most improperly used term of the year) on the BIGGEST COD game of the next 3 years! What a dick move to Xbox users, LOYAL Xbox users, who, not all of but at least many of, went and got an Xbox one specifically for this game because that's what they typically play.

Not to mention the pre-orders! I mean jesus, how many people now have to switch that or just forget about it entirely?

Taking a beloved multiplat franchise and making it (timed) exclusive to your platform must suck eh?

  2.

Developers have to work within the limitations of the hardware and that means current gen users will suffer.

Not really. Take the singleplayer campaign. Co-Op supports 4 players on current gen versions of the game because current-gen consoles can 'take it', and right now that other studio is working on supporting 2 players on last-gen versions. Key word is working on, so it may be scrapped because of the 360/ps3 hardware limitations.

They aren't purposefully limiting the current gen versions just so that all the stuff in the game will make the transition to last-gen. It's not like Activision is telling Treyarch "Hold up, you cannot have this in your game since we won't be able to make that run also on the last-gen versions"

A whole different studio works on the last gen versions. They'll try to have as much content as possible of the current gen versions in theirs, but obviously stuff needs to be toned down a lot. And worst-casio scenario stuff gets cut.

There's no valid basis to these claims that the gamemodes, maps or gameplay for that matter will suffer significantly for the current gen versions because the game is cross-gen. Or that current gen versions would get more if it was exclusive to current gen.

If we're talking open world with advanced AI systems like the Nemesis System, then those claims are more believable. But it's Call of Duty. 6v6 MP, 4 player co-op with a few dozen Zombies. That stuff can easily make it to last gen. All they need to do is tone down the graphics, resolution, lighting etc and voila.

  3. As for the complaining of being held back... I personally disagree and feel as paying customers you reserve the right to complain. That being said, complaining won't change anything so I will just say I am disappointed and leave it at that. I still expect a great game nonetheless so may as well just wait until we see more.

I'm not saying you're not allowed to complain about the fact the game being cross-gen. Go right ahead, personally I think people should've moved on from last-gen ages ago and these last gen ports of current gen games are terrible.
    But that's besides the point.

Right now many people as soon as they hear cross-gen are like: next-gen versions are being handicapped by last gen limitations guys.

Truth of the matter is that game development is way more complicated to just draw simple deductions like that.

  4. Are people still using the We're being hold back by previous gen console excuse?

People need to stop using the old consoles as scapegoats for a game's flaws and shortcomings and simply accept the fact that the current-gen hardware is already outdated as fuck and devs already need to comprise on certain fronts to make the game look and play the best it can on current gen systems.

Having said that, it looks like CoD: Ghosts 2 will be the first true current-gen only CoD.
Looking forward to Activision re-using that excuse of a marketing device even though we know it won't make a fucking difference.

  5. @Rissole25

Opinions on the Fallout DLCs vary a lot. General consensus is that Broken Steel is the best one since it increases the level cap from 20 to 30, retcons the ending, and adds a bunch of new sidequests and monsters to the base game.

The Pitt was also really good. Operation Anchorage had nice weapons and armor, but I didn't care for the setting. Point Lookouts story was a joke and Zeta was arguably the worst DLC.

    Fallout NV
Lonesome Road and Old World Blues are amazing. Honest Hearts was okay, Dead Money sucked.

And you're in for a treat with New Vegas. It's so much better than 3 on every front.

  6. @BestOfAllTime32 You should listen to what @the_clay_bird says. Unlike you he knows what he's talking about. Now you're just pulling random numbers out your ass [console market is 6 billion, really?] and acting like you know commercial economics.
The US and EU are the biggest console markets on Earth. Together they make up for 75-85 percent of PS4's sales. Xbone has most likely similar figures.
You're making it sound like hitting break even is bad. It's not. A lot of business companies have BE as their main objective. Also generally speaking when you lower a product's price you sell more of said product.

And MS is far from reaching break even with Xbox. Last year they announced record revenue profits on the back of strong Xbox 360 and Xbox One sales.

  7. Xbox may not have more money than PS. Xbox has lost billions of dollars over its life, and there is constantly rumours MS may sell the Xbox.

Lastly, on this point, the Xbox is a money loser, the Playstation a money maker for their respective companies. Other than insurance, Sony don't have very many bright spots atm as a company. Even if the XB were to turn a profit, it would be miniscule for the company, where as Sony has every reason to prop up the PS division because it is a big part of their company.

    Not true.

While Playstation sells indeed better than the Xbox, MS isn't losing money from the Xbox.
In fact, the PS4 is pretty much the only thing keeping Sony afloat at the moment. Sony is - and has been for the past few years - in big financial trouble, so if it came down to who offers the most amount of cash there's no doubt Microsoft will win against Sony.

  8. Looks like that Carrier is Atlas's base of operations from where they watched the events of Outbreak / Infection unfold. We already know our heroes are being experimented on by Atlas, so Lilith, Kahn and Decker are most likely Patient One, Two and Three.

Only reason I can see for Lennox to shoot Oz is to prevent Atlas from using him to accomplish whatever their objective may be.

  9. Activision has zero control over achievements.

A few weeks before release, publishers hand over all the DLCs data, including achievements info, to Microsoft / Sony / Valve so they can get ready for (digital) distribution. That way, MS, Sony and Valve have enough time to update their databases to include the new achievements and DLC info and make sure that the DLC is released and can be mass downloaded on a certain date without implications. That's also usually when soft launches occur.
Lots of stages that require approvement from MS / Sony / Valve before games & DLCs are ready to go, these obviously take time so its done beforehand.

  10. I don't care at this point it doesn't prove anything about PS4 getting DLC first, thats just the buildthey chose.

This is what I've been saying from the start, that the build they played was the PS4 version but you kept going on about how there was no proof that they only played the PS4 version.

Obviously you can't say; hey they played PS4 so playstation's getting the DLC first now guys.

  11. I never said he confirmed it on Twitter. He mentioned it in one of his videos after having played BO3.

Porting is simply getting shit from one platform to another and making it work. There's always porting involved, these companies don't make everything from scratch on every platform they release their games on.
Porting to last-gen is different because you have to change up a bunch of stuff to make it work with the less capable hardware.

When companies do porting right, you won't notice any difference between the different versions.
When they don't,  one version usually stands out as vastly superior to the ported versions. See Skyrim's PS4 DLC disaster.

  12. These exclusivity contracts are renewed every year with each new CoD. With Sony's current financial situation, I can't see them buying out this deal on Microsoft.

Interestingly, Microsoft's last exclusivity deal with EA on Dragon Age Inquisition (which sold better on Sony's console mind you) saw its first DLC premiere on the Xbox One and PC at the same time. With PS getting it a month later.

Phil Spencer has said multiple times Microsoft is working on a renewed focus on PC Gaming. Windows 10 will also allow you to stream your Xbone games to your PC, and more and more franchises like Street Fighter and Fable will have cross-play from Xbox One to PC. Makes sense that MS expands the exclusivity deals to also include the PC now and in the future.

  14. The Nightmare animatronics confirm this game takes place after 3.
Looks to me like someone took a look at Fazbear's Fright and thought:"hey with a bigger budget and crazy scary Nightmare variants on the classic beloved animatronics we can do this whole 'Family Pizzeria turned horror theme park' thing a whole lot better. "

Perhaps the 87s on Scotts site mean that the whole horror attraction will be centered around the year of '87, with the story of the missing children and the bite being the main selling point to bring in customers. Kind of like how the restaurants kept re-opening. Some folks just can't leave Freddy and the gang alone.
