  1. Pros:

    -The incorporation of new characters was great, especially while keeping the story on track

    -Atmospheric effects were a very nice touch

    Cons:

    -Weapon selection, and this is for every map, not just Call of the Dead. I mean there are quite a few other guns in the game that aren't being utilized. Why not switch it up? Instead of getting the HK21 maybe we could get the M60? I know that not all the other options are the best guns, but variety is nice.

  2. The bits of paper with the number + color are all ripped off from the poster next to the door (as mentioned many times, but just to clarify anyway...(links to pics below as the images are too large)

    Poster

    After spending the best part of 4 hours getting the dials to align to the correct position according to the bits of paper, we found that nothing happened!

    Now each number on the dials makes a specific tone. And each forghorn also has a specific tone/pitch

    What I did was match the tones with the foghorn sounds and play them in the following orders:

    From bottom floor to top on the lighthouse & reverse

    We also did other combinations including how they are positioned on the map (as the foghorns are spread out in the same way almost)

    Unfortunately there were only 3 of us which resulted in there being a slight gap between foghorn sounds in each combination which may have invalidated the unlock of whatever event is meant to proceed the completion of the foghorn code.

    Firstly, I may have got the order wrong with the foghorns so that will be the first thing to try (you will need good memory to remember the exact tone)

    Secondly 4 players should try this theory and see if they can get anywhere.

    Well this is rather discouraging... and I'm afraid we're back to square as far as the next step goes. Unless, of course, the "6" is actually a "9."

    Regardless, thanks for your input.

  3. I've edited it the best I could is there anything else I missed?

    let me know so I can put it up.

    Yeah. Got the combination.

    Purple: 6

    Yellow: 2

    Orange: 7

    Blue: 4

    We figured out that the color of the dials corresponded to scraps of paper found throughout the map, as indicated by the portraits in the room with the our heroes are in. On these scraps are single digits.

    You can read the whole thing here:

    viewtopic.php?f=62&t=10928

    Now, we just have to figure out how each dial affects the others so that we can input the proper combination.

    Once we do so, we should be able to give the crew the golden rod and finish the easter egg.

    DISREGARD THIS. WHILE I WAS MAKING THE POST SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT IT DOESN'T WORK.

  5. Hey, guys. I'm sure you've all gotten past the golden step and we need to figure out what's next. Right now I've noticed that the four dials found throughout the lighthouse are different colors.

    Near the Double Tap machine there is a life ring which contains a scrap of paper with the number "6" in purple. I'm assuming that four of these need to be found to get the proper combination. Haven't been able to find the others though.

  6. The only thing fishy about the screenshots is that he has all 7 perks, and I'm pretty sure it caps at 4. Anyway, the golden rod can be found at the base of the lighthouse. After getting the green light on the submarine you have to use the VR11 to turn a zombie into a human at the base of the lighthouse who will then be sucked up into the light.

    After a while, you'll hear a generic "glowing" sound and the golden rod will appear at the base of the lighthouse.

  7. Guys .. No offence but what age are the lot of ye? :P These little "fights" ye all have are ridiculous :P

    I think the guy may be onto something. And I agree with him 100%

    And People do get all offended when someone tries to challenge a theory by "THE GREAT ALPHASNAKE" they are theories for a raisin man

    You know what's funny? The game is rated M, for players who are 18+, but this site has no age restriction. Just keep that in mind.

  8. Hey guys, I know that maybe everyone knows about the NEW free the crew easter egg.

    But, that is just a mere reference in this topic.

    In one of the dialogue sequences in between steps, Dempsey refers to Richtofen as "Rectal-Fan", obviously meaning it as an insult.

    For thos who aren't aware, your rectum is basically your butt, and Dempsey called Richtofen "Rectal-Fan" or Butt Fan basically. Butt Fan basically means he likes doing it in the butt, the only option Gays have when it comes to sex. So basically, Dempsey just called Richtofen gay, meaning it as an INSULT. HE IS SAYING THAT PEOPLE WHO ARE GAY ARE WORTH INSULTING.

    Now, I know you may say, "Well he insults everything". But that isnt exactly rue. Sure he may insult a person, or a zombie, or Sam, but we never hear him say anything RACIST or SEXIST(well, not HARSHLY), and being insulting to Gays falls on the same line as being insulting to a race or sex.

    Now, before people jump to conclusions, no, I'm not gay or bi. However, I do have 3 bi and gay friends I would take a bullet for. This offends me TREMENDOUSLY, and my jaw LITERALLY dropped when he said that. I'm not sure who wrote this dialogue, but whoever it as needs to be fired. A substantial percent of the world population is full of Gays, lesbians, and bisexuals, and this is somewhere along the lines of saying negro(no offense, just to inform), but not the full "N word". It would be something worse if it was F*gg*t, but on a scale of 1 to 10 on how much this offends me, its an 8.

    I really hope Treyarch or SOMEONE who can do something sees this. This really offends me and I want it gone. On a lighter side, what if this is just Treyarchs way of telling us Richy is gay? Highly doubted however.

    THE VIDEO IM REFERRING TO.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4YSVd6c ... ideo_title

    Around 1:47 he says it.

    That part gave you away. 7/10 for the effort though.

  9. Anyone else wish they had done something like House of the Dead Overkill? From the trailers it looks like any sort of filter will be absent, which is really a shame.

    For those who think it would hinder visibility, it wouldn't have to be permanent, it could be like the black and white rounds during Ascension.

  10. I agree. It looks more like a parody of their zombie mode made by someone else. I mean this community has been right about the lighthouse map for two years and when we finally get it it's like a fucking movie from the '70s. Furthermore, what does this do for the zombies storyline? What the fuck does George A. Romero, Danny Treyo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and company have to do with anything? Seriously, Treyarch took the zombies storyline from WaW and said "fuck it, let's just make it as confusing and weird as possible." Ok, I think I'm done ranting now.

    Someone just went full retard.

  11. in theory, it can. buying perks is pressing 'x' next to an arbitary item (the vending machine), the noises, animations, and character responses are all programmed in, thats how you get the free 25 points by going prone near the vending machines. never put anything past treyarch's coding.

    First, you are using the word "arbitrary" wrong.

    Second, I am aware that Treyarch could have coded that into the game, but ask yourself if it makes any sense. Why would staring at a paw print upgrade a perk? It defies any sort of conventional goal progression.

    Third, don't bring up coding. HoboRisesAgain is being an absolute ass about that on the other threads.

    I only started when people went out of their way to be an ass over nothing. So quit crying b/c you got burned worse.

    Now ask yourself this question, why would pressing x on an arbitrary item without a perk have no response when if you do have a perk there is a response to that exact same thing.

    Why do they use a non unique noise? It's just a grunt. All I've heard has been speculative or anecdotal evidence. Just link me to a video that shows a before and after comparison. People taking more hits, reloading faster, etc.

  12. That's not what he just made @Meh

    No, it's the same exact thing. Except he put them on graph.

    Go over to GameFAQs and look at the zombie data. It tells you how to calculate the number of zombies that spawn per round (which is the same thing as the number of kills this guy recorded).

    And, if you want to figure out how many melee hits it would take, you just calculate the zombies health on the round and divide it by the melee damage.

    You see Meh, you are just a sad piece of shit. Go suck off bal.

    That was a compelling argument, I now see the error of my ways.

  14. HAHAHAH you have been rocked to the core. Changed the up the whole thread. I dont have the time atm but i'll walk you through it all, dont worry i'll let you hold my hand for a lil bit until you get settled. I wonder how you are gonna change your whole thread again after I make myself very clear to you.

    2/10

    I chuckled a bit.

  15. Yes but you all forget der riese and how to upgrade your perks. Your character had responses, ones that had to get reused, but they were unique by being activated when interacting w/ an item hidden on the map. Go to the type 100 room where the grenades are, hit x while looking at the board. Now hit x on the glowing red jar infront of it, nothing happens. Go buy jug and do the same thing. You'll see what I mean. Samething by the window at the end of the ally way the m1-carbine is at. Lay down and look through a small hole in the sand bags, you'll see a bood, press x, nothing happens(press it as many times as you want) go buy speed cola and try it again, you char has something to say. We need to use all techniques we learned from the other maps to find eggs. Thus far I haven't noticed anything in ascension that is activated by shooting it.(gersch kinda counts on the generator.)

    1 new thing i noticed, there is a red button on a non recessed outlet box, just like the ones from the monkey rounds, its to the left of the down stairs door where you spawn, before you leave the room. Shoot it, you dont leave bullet marks on it, but it does stop your bullets.

    Lol. He thinks you can upgrade perks.

    Notice how you run faster and longer w/ pap'd guns, you dont think that holding 115 has an effect on your 115 based perk? The red glowing jars in der riese, shoot into them, that is liquid 115, you have a groaning response to one of them.

    No, I don't believe that holding X next to an arbitrary item on the map magically upgrades your perk.

    How about now, asshole. I will say that if a person avoids very valid points only to point out that I took up too much space in a place with infinite space available to us. Sorry you had to scroll for 1.6 seconds longer. I wasted less space and time of people than 99 percent of post's on here.

    Think about what really matters. You may be passive aggressive I'll just be myself.

    HURR DURR I"M MAD AND I"M BRINGING UP CODE THAT DOESN"T ACTUALLY MATTER

  17. I reviewed the question code and have determined why cross bow doesn't matter:

    	wait_for_combo( trig )
    {
    self endon( "death" );
    self thread kill_trig_on_death( trig );
    weapon_combo_spot = GetStruct( "weapon_combo_spot", "targetname" );
    ray_gun_hit = false;
    doll_hit = false;
    crossbow_hit = false;
    players = get_players();
    array_thread( players, ::thundergun_check, self, trig, weapon_combo_spot );
    while ( 1 ) {
    trig waittill( "damage", amount, attacker, dir, org, mod );
    if ( isDefined( attacker ) ) {
    if ( mod == "MOD_PROJECTILE_SPLASH" && (attacker GetCurrentWeapon() == "ray_gun_upgraded_zm" ) ) {
    ray_gun_hit = true;
    } else if ( mod == "MOD_GRENADE_SPLASH" ) {
    if ( amount >= 90000 ) {
    doll_hit = true;
    } else if ( attacker GetCurrentWeapon() == "crossbow_explosive_upgraded_zm" ){
    crossbow_hit = true;
    }
    }
    if ( ray_gun_hit && doll_hit && flag( "thundergun_hit" ) ) {
    flag_set( "weapons_combined" );
    level thread soul_release( self, trig.origin );
    return;
    }
    }
    }
    }
    Unlike ray_gun_hit and doll_hit, crossbow_hit is never used. The logic was put in to set it true but as seen here, it is never referenced to end the Easter egg:
    				if ( ray_gun_hit && doll_hit && flag( "thundergun_hit" ) ) {
    flag_set( "weapons_combined" );
    level thread soul_release( self, trig.origin );
    return;
    }

    Line: if ( ray_gun_hit && doll_hit && flag( "thundergun_hit" ) ) {

    This states that the ray gun hits once, the doll hits at least once and the thunder gun hits once to activate the end of the Easter egg: level thread soul_release( self, trig.origin );

    Explanation: Based on how the code is constructed, this looks more like a bug that wasn't caught in testing. When reviewing it the first time, even I missed the fact that the cross bow wasn't being checked in the last if statement.

    This was a good find. Thank you for creating the post.

    Guess what fool?!! The last piece of code containing level thread is after that, sam_is_angry_level_thread.

    You sure you've been reading the code?

    Whats really funny bal is that I presented those things to you in the other more dead thread of yours. So good job pal, have people ask you questions in one thread then post them as your own idea in others. Good thing I italicized all those pieces of the code that stood out as odd.

    I asked you about those things and you never responded to them, only part of what I asked then commented on my posting habits. Funny how you ended up with my ideas from other posts around douche bag.

    Hey its a good thing you determined the crossbow isn't needed when A, Most of us came to that conclusion by reading the code w/ out being a software engineer and B, it has been proven in video for a little while now, weeks. Ok you can go back to being the most fake smart person in the room bal.

    Lastly, crossbow gets mention in the end section of the egg, reviving does too, now what does an upgraded crossbow, a perkless person and needing to revive someone have in common? HMMMM maybe there is an achievement that might help you figure that out.

    If I remember correctly, all he did was ask you (with a "please" to put the code in a block so it wouldn't elongate the thread, and then you got super defensive and called him an asshole.

    Let's face it, no one takes you seriously because you're rude.
