  1. For me personally, I quite enjoy Malukah's works and her voice is absoultely heart-warming and mind-numbing. Aside from her EE songs with Kevin, she also has done her own covers of other popular video game songs. Most notably:

    Skyrim:

    Halo:

    Mass Effect:

Those are just a few examples of many great covers she's done. And I quite enjoyed both of her Zombies songs as well.

However, Elena kickstarted the series of songs with Kevin, and practically owns the Zombies community. And I personally fell in love with songs like "Beauty of Annihilation", "115" and "Abracadavre" when I first heard them. Once I get the EE songs going in the old maps, I feel like I can take on round 300 completely solo with a .45. (not recommended however).

However, I prefer Elena more when she sings more than she screams. So less "Coming Home" and more "Beauty of Annihilation/Abracadavre" style songs pls.

  2. Hello CoDz!

With all the latest hype and Zombies discussion being rejuvenated, the first thing that always comes to my mind first is the music. The beloved EE songs we always found in each and every map. And throughout the Zombies career so far, we've have had several great vocalists work alongside the Zombies soundtrack mastermind, Kevin Sherwood. Those vocalists being:

    Elena Sigeman

    Lullaby For A Deadman

    The One

    Beauty of Annihilation

    115

    Abracadavre

    Pareidolia

    Coming Home

    Clark S Nova

    Carrion

    We All Fall Down

    Malukah

    Where Are We Going

    Always Running

And of course, the group project of all three:

    Archangel

With all these songs in mind, I'd like to revisit them a bit. Which is your favorite and why? And who would you like to see make a return come next Zombies season 2015?

  3. I definitely piggyback with both @Tac's and @Agame360's suggestions. Great idea BTW. I usually don't bother dusting off the mic unless I'm playing with friends anyways. But when it comes to Zombies, the lack of any communication with randoms makes the game pretty hard sometimes.

That being said, I'd like to revive some of my own ideas from the past I'd like to see implicated in some way. Those being:

    • More "Scare Factors" added to the environment and feel of the maps. (Much like Verruckt) to keep you on your toes. Treyarch is already known to mess with our minds with cryptic messages. Now lets see them mess with our eyes and ears!
    • A ranking system. I tried a mod for this via WaW on PC and it basically was getting XP the same way you do on MP, but on Zombies. They brushed up on this a LITTLE bit in Blops 2, but not much. I feel for me personally, the sense of being awarded and making progress with each and every game is ultimately what will drive me to keep playing that mode. This goes for damn near any game really. The fundamental feature for addiction in games starts with earning XP. I'd love to start seeing some daily/weekly Zombies challenges along side progress and stats for playing zombies aside from just the overall leaderboards.
    • Randomized/Interactive maps.  I always thought it was cool how some maps, the perk machines weren't always in the same location each and every game. I'd love to see that taken an extra mile for at least one map where even the series of events and when "special zombie" types spawn or happen so it's like a different experience almost every time. Best example I can come up with is a system similar to how Left 4 Dead works. Special Zombies, especially the Tank or Witch is hard to guess just when might appear and where. It's never the same exact spot. It may be with in a certain general area, but never the same exact spot and it switches up between the Witch or the Tank. I'd like to see them do that with not only the progress of Zombies, but with the map itself as well. What if it were to randomly start raining for a few rounds? Or snow even? Perhaps a line is cut and the power is shut down for once, leaving everything disabled? Things like that too.
  4. Regardless if the community all complained about the lack of a pause feature, you'd think they would've implemented this anyways in the beginning.

I mean, it's Zombies. Shit takes awhile to get set up and going, then surviving to high rounds is another thing that my bladder will not allow among every other reason to pause the game...

  5.

I don't mean this directly towards you Craig, but everytime I've heard that it just grinds my gears. IMO, anyone who does this ripped themselves off before they ever bought the game in the first place. Hence why I've supported the "Stand alone Zombies game/collection" ideas for so long.

Oh I agree, a standalone game mode would be superb and just what I'm after but it ain't happening.

I feel ripped off by myself to be honest, then by Activision. It's my own stupid fault for given the cash - but that's how they want it, how we accept it and how it's going to be. Value for my money is not going be recouped by Exo Zombies on it's own but if they give us something over the course of the year and subsequent years then maybe, just maybe my investment will have been "worth it".

You think they would though, they would make even more money than they already do if you think about it.

Release a standalone Zombies collection via Arcade or similar to how Red Dead Redemption did their Zombies thing for what? $20 bucks? The Zombies community would basically buy some of those maps for the second or third time over now, just to have them all in the same location. That doesn't include the DLC as usual for the annual CoD game on top of that that plenty of people still buy because they mostly play multiplayer.

Then say for example, someone likes both the multiplayer AND Zombies. But the also want all the Zombies in one place. Well, a DLC drops and they pay the $15 for the map pack via CoD. Then an additional 5-ish bucks to add that map on a DLC for this stand-alone Zombies collection game.

They would basically be buying the Zombies map twice because they wanted the multiplayer maps, which includes the newest Zombies map anyways, PLUS however much to then add that map on this ideal Zombies collection as well.

  6. I'll put it another way for you, I spent £50 ($75 roughly) on the game and a further £35 ($53) on the DLC for me, then for my sons DLC a further £35 ($53). I spent over £120 ($180) on a game that I only want one mode from (Zombies) - it has failed to delivery any value for me at the moment.

I don't mean this directly towards you Craig, but everytime I've heard that it just grinds my gears. IMO, anyone who does this ripped themselves off before they ever bought the game in the first place. Hence why I've supported the "Stand alone Zombies game/collection" ideas for so long.

  7. lol the thing I don't understand is that those who compare it to Treyarch Zombies and say it's a "Copy & Paste" are also stating how boring and linear it is. If it's so much alike, wouldn't the same arguement work for Treyarch Zombies too?

I personally grow tired of the biased criticism simply because it does not have the Treyarch logo stamped on it, all other statements and arguements aside. I think we are all just familar with how Zombies normally is, which makes it hard to adapt and accept anything that imitates it. Call it human nature, I feel the same way. But I don't think there's anything wrong with the mode itself, I just know Treyarch Zombies better. I'm familar with it. It's where it all started in the CoD universe.

However, as for the the games features themselves, I'll definitely agree with you there on the pause feature. That's a given for everyone I think. Although, I quite like the fast-paced progression it delivers. I feel like there's a bit more skill involved with actually getting past the 20's or 30's as well, where as in Treyarch Zombies, you could practically get all set up with in 12-15 rounds on a lucky game and run circles as long as your heart desires, get a crawler, spend 20 minutes gearing up then rinse and repeat. So I really enjoy the pure chaos Exo Zombies delivers in that sense. It keeps you on your toes.

  8. It wouldn't be the first time the creepy AI chick goes rogue. Infact, which movie/game these days that involves some female AI does NOT have a climax where they stab everyone in the back?

Frankly, it would still make a more interesting story than what I can predict with what we know so far though.

  9. Between all the quotes and the EE ending, is pretty darn clear that *you* are the experiment rather than the other way around. However, they are more determined to get rid of you than just test you judging by the curious kill screen dialogue and shot down escort chopper.

I don't think these 4 actually die for sake of story though. Because for one, logic tells me; "Why would they go through the trouble of modeling and getting all these actors for the Exo crew, only to kill them off after one map?" first and foremost.

There's lots of questions left unanswered - which is good for sake of building the story - but the question that has me the most curious is; if these Zombies were planned, then why would Atlas attack there own? This leads me to believe that there's more to Atlas than even Atlas employees knows. Hell, Lilith makes that clear in here quote via trailer/cutscene.

Lilith: What the hell? There IS no sub-level six...

So the big question is, Who's REALLY behind it all?

  10. Frankly, I'm not sure why this died out. People seemed genuinely interested in tuning in each week. I've been pushing for a reboot myself. It's mostly up to fappin' weiner and the Grillmeister, given they usually conducted/edited them.

Even during the off season, Grill's "Topics of the Week" threads he did would also make great discussions during the off season. Alongside Exo Zombies this season.

  11. Definitely a change of pace compared to regular Zombies, which is nice. The more unique this is, the better. One thing that may seem small, but significant I enjoy is the interaction between the characters as you progress and their situational awareness.

However I can't decide what to think about the Infecting Zombies so far. It adds the challenge of forcing you out of your spot every few rounds or so. This is both good and bad, it's a great idea but gets annoying too.

  12. Round 22 my first try, played splitscreen with my bro. It gets to be pretty chaotic! However, I'd kinda hope for that chaos to pick up a lot sooner than it does now personally.

Also, is it just me? Or do the Zombies movement seem... off?

  13. Take it or leave it, but I think Voyager should just be handed the robes by default this month. I don't mean anything rude to anyone else or the other nominees, but there's simply no competition this month if you ask me, and the proof is all in the first couple nominations for him.

My reason being is this guy is extremely active universally. On topic, Off topic, Chat you name it, he's claimed it this month.

    Keep it up, bud!

  14. I know what you mean, but Exo-Zombies is being developed by the same people who helped in Zombies.

Well that's kinda of the point as well. No matter which developer actually makes the game that year, they're all on the same side and working together. I guess I just grow tired of the biased opinions based on the developers scattered around lately as well. Too much high expectations.

As I said, you can't please everyone. There's gonna be things we all love and hate. Similarities and differences. Bottom line, we get Zombies back. Despite everything, I'm just glad I'll be back in the slaying business sooner than expected this year.

  15. Ya know, I realize this is a Zombies community and that Treyarch came out with it first, blah blah blah... So shouldn't that go for Exo Zombies too? Quite frankly, I'm tired of seeing all the bashing before the mode has even been released yet.

Everyone seems to have really high expectations of how this will compare and/or beat Treyarch Zombies. Give Sledgehammer a break and give Exo Zombies a shot. Granted I'm sure there's things people will love, and things we'll hate. Same thing happened for each and every map that came out throughout the Treyarch series for Zombies too. I for one, am just glad we're getting Zombies at all this year and it will be nice to see something new and refreshing. Apart from Story, apart from how it compares to Zombies or even Extinction. We're getting Zombies back early.

  16. I've seen ideas similar to this before and I'm all for it. However, I think the prices should all be considerably higher so you don't have access to these pretty early on.

For example Jug would go from 2500 to 10,000. And so forth.

Something to spend all those points on once you basically have everything you need anyways. Plus it adds a bit more risk in the mix when you get to those higher rounds. There's just gotta be a bit of a gamble to go with it ya know?

  17.

This may be the unpopular opinion, but I hope the mission/story and Round/Wave progression works much like it did in Extinction more so than it does in Zombies.

I love the way Extinction works. The only problem was the longevity of every map. At least for me, beating a map four times was enough.

I become easily bored with a linear gameplay; it's like playing a campaign mission over and over again.

Now, if the mission works the way Extinction did and the rounds the way Zombies did, we have a balance. Something like Origins/MotD, where, if you want, you can finish the game completing the EE but if you don't, just survive endless rounds.

I like that combo more than just Extinction-way or Zombies-way.

If anything, I feel like they should have several options: Survival and Story we'll say. Much like how you could choose parts of TranZit to just Survive on.

However, the difference being is you could play it the Extinction way, where you start objectives and more waves spawn and it's endless chaos the whole time, the only thing that changes is how many Zombies spawn between completing objectives and starting new ones (just like doing the drills on Extinction) and there's a way to escape and so forth.

    OR

Just raw survival. And this mode would work more like the classic zombies we all know best basically.
