I've seen this but I haven't tested it... Does it work more then once? And it's certainly usefull for the "skewer the winged beast" step...

Yes you can get it once per round. Did it last night and would try to scour the map at the end of each round to find perk slot bottles. Got 7 perks total (out of 9 possible) before ending.
