You can compare the various game's multiplayer's because they are always fundamentally the same exact game mode, Exo Zombies, in spite of the many things taken from 3Arc Zombies, is too fundamentally different in the way that it plays and functions for me to consider it the exact same game mode, at most I will say it's a spinoff of 3Arc Zombies, but I will not say it is the same game mode because I find it too different to fairly compare them

That is how I consider it myself. I don't think it is necessarily fair to say they are the same game mode either, but they are meant to be near identical so they appeal to the same market, so this is why I say people should expect people to compare them.

As for Sledgehammer not delivering a proper experience.... how have they not done so? they have brought us a functioning, playable and (at least IMO) fun game mode, and to discount the hard work and effort they put in and call it an incomplete game mode because it doesn't meet some incredibly high and unreachable standard of quality you expect is just stupid to me, this is not Treyarch Zombies, Sledgehammer is not the company that has been making Zombies for nearly 8 years and 3 entire games, this is there first go around with the whole thing, and it was also a last minute addition, so I just wish that you would judge it on their own merit; rather then expecting them to reach some lofty standard of perfection you have crafted and expect them to reach. Cause not even Treyarch with all it's experience often reaches that level.

Touché. Personally I actually like Outbreak but my issues with the map and mode themselves are pretty much the same ones as the OP listed. I am not hating on the mode, just disappointed that with how far we have come, what they delivered is way below expectation levels. What Jay listed as his grievances are all legitimate issues, well... most are at least.

The lack of pause option is a devestating blow to a lot of people. Assuming it will be addressed should not be taken as fact considering they never added a pause feature for solo Extinction either depite many requests. The box weapons are also very samey for the most part but like BO1 & BO2 I hated the box weapons at first but they grew on me eventually. The glitches are also tragic at how simple they were to actually find by the shadier side of the community and the weapon upgrade system although clever failed to deliver the kind of devestation you expect from this type of game mode... an arcade style game mode. Again, I am sure they will improve that in the next map.

I personally just feel that this map is a bit rushed feeling and sloppy around the edges. As I have already said though I reckon time constraints could be a major factor in this and we will know better by the time the next map comes along. I don't dislike exo-zombies... I just don't think it's that great either.

Oh definitely, there are plenty of issues that need to be fixed and things improved upon (especially the goddamn glitches, ugh; fucking everyone uses that computer glitch like it's a goddamn cake), I never denied that and I actually agree with you on many points, I just felt that you were being a bit too harsh on Exo Zombies, and expecting it to be something it won't or can't be, but you aren't; so I apologize.

  2. So is it also unfair to compare Treyarch MP to IW or SH MP? Because people do you know... by the millions. They compare them because it's the same thing. Maybe made by a different company but it's still Call of Duty. Exo zombies is still zombies, on a Call of Duty game. Maybe made by a different company but still zombies and still Call of Duty.

I completely understand why people don't want to see direct comparisions but the vast majority of people will continue to compare them irregardless of what some others believe and nothing you or anyone else can say will change it so you need to learn to accept it, whether you feel it's right or wrong.

This game is a mirror relection to Treyarch zombies only with added exo suits. If there was enough of a difference then fair enough, but literally everything fro 3arcs mode is here. Everything, so fair on Sledgehammer or not, if they want to be successful they need to deliver a proper experience... not some basic, near clone of earlier Treyarch maps and they seriously need to do some research on the issues within the game mode itself.

Either way, this debate will get people nowhere. Some feel it is a zombies others feel it is a seperate entity. It's unlikely to change anytime soon.

You can compare the various game's multiplayer's because they are always fundamentally the same exact game mode, Exo Zombies, in spite of the many things taken from 3Arc Zombies, is too fundamentally different in the way that it plays and functions for me to consider it the exact same game mode, at most I will say it's a spinoff of 3Arc Zombies, but I will not say it is the same game mode because I find it too different to fairly compare them; especially with the difference in experience in making Zombie game modes from each developer. Of course you and others feel different about that and nothing I can say will change that, fair enough; we'll agree to disagree on that point.

This may not be treyarch zombies but you have to admit sledgehammer pretty much copied and pasted zombies in order to make exo zombies.

That's the way I look at it too. I understand why some people don't like the idea of it being compared directly but I refuse to be that way because exo suits aside, it's zombies. Treyarch zombies, only not made by Treyarch. They have copied literally everything from Treyarch but made maps that suit the exo theme.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree, this is a zombies based game mode but it is not Treyarch Zombies, it may have taken many of the successful and core gameplay elements from our zombies; but it's not our zombies even then. And I believe it is incredibly unfair to Sledgehammer and to this mode to compare it to 3Arc when the latter has been doing Zombies for 7 years and three games, while SH just started, and it's mode should be judged on it's own merit; not by the merit of Treyarch. Who's been doing it for so long as they have.

  4. A few of your points are very valid, but most of them just seem awfully nitpicky in trying to find things to hate about the game mode to me, and the fact that you are comparing this with 3Arc Zombies just doesn't sit well with me; as this isn't 3Arc Zombies. Judge EZ on it's own merit rather then 3Arcs, One company just started doing Zombies while the other has been doing it for 7 years and 3 games.

  5. 6. How do the upgrades work?

    7. Are the characters funny or annoying or serious?

    8. How is the weapon they advertised in the trailer? (The triple barrel shotgun)

    9. Any small EEs that refer to Treyarch zombies?

    10. Do the zombies use the exo suite often?

    Nice thread, Tattoo. :)

    6. 2,500 for each one, there are 20 upgrades.

    7. Mainly serious, but they can be funny sometimes

    8. Excellent, best weapon in the map

    9. Not really

10, Not really at first, but more and more as the game goes on.

  6. I read the topics here, and decided that instead of trying to keep up with all the questions in different sections, I would create a space for you, and me to ask all those small questions about the game, as we are a month behind and can't play :(

I'll start with 5 simple questions and come back later with more.

    1. is there a timer on the new pack a punch? leaving a weapon in too long on black ops would result in losing the weapon, does it work the same here?

    2. How many of the original item perks are available? All I've seen in a video was insta kill.

    3. Is there an ending to the maps? I heard a rumor you could complete the stage, if so, it might keep me from buying the game so I really need to know this one.

    4. Is there a custom game mode, similar to BO2?

    5. Have any smaller easter eggs been found? Music? Cutscenes?

    1. No, once you buy the upgrade the newly upgraded gun is automatically put back in your hands.

    2. There is Hyper-Damage (Insta-Kill), Multiplier (Double Points), Full Reload (Max Ammo), DNA Bomb (Nuke) and Power Surge (Fire Sale) among the ones that return, there is also a sixth new drop called Security; which turns on all the traps.

    3. Nope, the only ending is death.

    4. No, just private match

    5. Ride of the Valkyrie's is the Musical Easter Egg, there's also a story cutscene that plays when you load the mode up from the menu.

  7.

To be fair to Sledgehammer, Black Ops II did this occasionally as well; but yeah it does need to be fixed.

It did happen but it was very rare, this is happening everytime searching for a game, sometimes round 10+ - frustrating as hell.

Oh I agree, I keep getting thrown into round 10+ games already in progress and have to keep backing out over and over again for nearly 20 minutes just to find a regular lobby, even more annoying when I am looking for mics too.

  8. This EE is so annoying. First time I choked because I couldn't remember where Rose McGowan's finger pad was (Turned out I was looking in the right area but I just couldn't find it even though I tried for about 6 rounds). Second time I was Bill Paxton so I thought "At least this time finding the finger pad will be easy". Nope. Had to go in the incinerator about 20 times and never got the damn card to pop up even though I was blasting every square inch with an Ameli (I'm aware that you can't see it sometimes... was pressing X all over the place but never picked anything up.) I guess that's going to be the first card I go for next time because that was really frustrating. It's such a simple EE that is made randomly difficult by a couple of steps requiring luck + a lack of pause ability and no ability to keep a zombie alive (I ended up having to piss both times but chose to hold it over dying). That and the random cost of the trash chute screws you over if the incinerator card is being a dick.  Why should it randomly cost 2k points to jump in a trash chute? Bastards.

The cost of the trash chute is not random, it goes up the first two times you use it to 2000, stays at 2000 for the rest of the round; and then resets to 100 at the beginning of the next round.

  9. ... And there's like no secret room or something unlocked??? Oh boy, more weapon upgrades I'll never get. Lame.

a new upgrade station in the Exo Suit Room that allows you to upgrade a level 20 gun to level 25 is unlocked for beating the EE. otherwise there is nothing to unlock besides the achievement itself.

  10. How is this easter egg's difficulty compared to all the rest?

I just did it tonight with Infest, the egg itself is not that hard; hardest part is getting the key cards to level up your security clearance for the last step.

You can probably easily complete within 15 or so rounds, only took me and Infest as long as it did because we couldn't figure out how to get the chute to the incinerator working for the longest time.
