  1. We gotta go future. As much as people dislike futuristic elements in Call of Duty, it's the best option to flow with. Like Mocking said, it allows for a plethora of imaginative tools, weaponry, gadgets, and concepts. That's why so many shooters work with the future - it's easy to mold and holds no static infrastructure. There is no formula to follow other than "Hmmm it would be awesome if we changed the dynamics of _______ by adding ________ with it". Plus, when have we ever thought that going back in time would make things "okay"?

Besides, Zombies-wise we don't want anymore historic/past maps. We've already screwed up the storyline by wedging new maps in between others only to cause story displacement. Maybe one like MotD here and there to offer relevant information so we can soothe the "time wound", but nothing more. The future is bright.

    *cracks fingers* time for debate!

I don't want to be biased or anything because I tend to have an automatic attachment to the original thing I'm used to. I started off my CoD career with WaW, and played the campaigns of 1,2 and 3 before I ever had XBL. BUT, I don't see why exactly it always has to be futuristic to be original and creative.

I quite like the ideas of the main CoD campaign having some kind of steampunk/fallout theme to it. I used complain how CoD used to be related to real historical events and that these modern/futuristic games are starting to peel that fundamental from CoD. But hell, if they are already creating their own stories of events that haven't happened, set in the future, I don't see why we can't be as creative with the past. Zombies is a perfect example of that; plenty of unreal and groundbreaking discoveries of technology and advanced weapons that obviously never existed in that era.

I'm not saying we completely throw in the towel with storylines relating to or based off real history, but there's plenty any of these CoD developers could do with the past and still introduce things that were non-existant then or even today. It's the theme, the grungy-noirish type of old school theme that I personally miss. Let's see some Bioshock/Fallout-theme meets CoD or something, and you could easily twist that around something historical and base it off that.

  2. I would like to personally share one experience where I got lucky in more ways than one... ;)

Let's just say playing "Strip Zombies" with the box being the gambler worked in my advantage once or twice before.

    EDIT:

Oh right, uhhhh.... I've ran a suicidal direct path straight through large hordes of zombies unscathed several times before. That never happens without jug. Funny thing was, I was attempting suicide. I failed Suicide. Lucky or unlucky?

  3. The thing that bothers me most is how far we've stretched the non-fiction of the CoD universe to the point where these last few games are purely sci-fi instead. And while IMO, the campaigns and missions (particularly in Ghosts) are pretty interesting, I'd like to take a few steps back and peek back into the historical related events again. There's still SO much they could do. I feel Black Ops covered that perfectly as an example, it was still the past, but not your typical WWI or II shooter we saw in the first three CoD games or WaW. Then Black Ops II did a good job at linking the past to the future, but CoD aside, EVERYONE is doing sci-fi or modern shooters.

Wishful thinking here BUT, If they don't at least do another game similiar to Black Ops era wise, it would be nice to at least give the historical CoD side of things a reboot. Do some sort of "Call of Duty Remastered" that features the best WW maps from CoD 1, 2, 3 and WaW.

  4. I think we've all learned something out of this controversy within the "rape culture" thread and have a general consensus among ourselves that this could be handled properly and maturely in threads of a similar nature to come. In the nearly 4 years I've been here, we've lost too many great members because of differences in what's okay and what's not here on CoDZ, and I certainly would like to think we're not going to lose MMX permanently over a controversial topic and a couple NSFW photos. We've all voiced our ideas, opinions and concerns on the matter, at this point, it's up to the staff to decide exactly how we're going to handle adult themed threads. Let's not have to force their hand into putting all these restrictions on discussing adult topics in a forum that should be filled with adults.

We should all be more aware and understanding of our audience and be able to have a civil discussion about whatever we wish to discuss. Adult themed threads aside, I'd like to personally watch out for rising conflicts and solve them before they escalate out of hand, even if it means taking it to them privately to butt heads to come to and understanding or agree to disagree. The way YOU decide to handle things will speak for the maturity in and of itself. If you - CoDz as a whole - value your privilege to have a place to discuss such topics, then let's not waste it with petty heated reactions.

Now that being said, let's steer things back on track here and continue to discuss ways we can improve CoDz, put this in the past and use it as good reminder and example from now on.

  5. God knows how long it's been since I actually did anything inrcredible, but I do remember a few things:

    Favorite map: Der Riese

    Favorite Weapon: Trench Gun/Commando/SCAR-H

    Highest Solo: 69 SNN

    Highest Co-op: 30's-40's?

Notables: Clutched 4-player Co-op, mid 30's at start of round given my whole team of randoms got pinned and died, pulled them through to the next round followed by applauding and friend invites.

  6. Well also keep in mind before we purged any colors, we had like 50 shades of grey, several shades of blue then just about every other color once upon a time. Now we've boiled it down to 8 or 9 groups which all work fine IMO.

    Besides, I like my purple!

  7. @Stop mocking me0

Hence why I asked that Staff full explains/discusses just what is expected and how HoF works. It's always been unclear of what made a Legend, and I talked with the staff a while back and came to the concensus that things needed to change. So "Legend" is now "Hall of Fame" but now we just need to officially decide what qualifies some members to possibly take on the group.

And UOTM's purpose works perfectly, it puts users that you're describing on a throne for a month as a thanks for contributing to CoDz, which also includes a permanent UOTM medal. If we make another group that basically is the samething, but permanent and called something else, then what's the point of having UOTM? Yet alone makes CoDz look like we pick favorites and it becomes a popularity contest hence why the original grey Dwellers were removed, we've done that before. There's no way to properly moderate what you're talking about anyways, people would be asking left and right to be put in said group.

And finally, no we're not. You're here, they're banned (or orange now). Clay made a good point that even just the quality and type of your posts speak for themselves as it. Not to mention the medals/groups we have stacked on top of that like Jolteon mentioned. Not good enough for you? Donate to CoDz. BAM blueness.

  8. @Stop mocking me0: No one called you "selfish" but you specifically mentioned being rewarded along with others for being a good contributor in an alternative way in which we already have several ways of awarding said type of members already. UOTM is intended to give recognition to members who've made great posts and an impression on the community in the past month, and HoF is for those who've done that an beyond constantly, as you've stated. If we created another similar group, it would make the other two seem obsolete.

@Black Hand Smith: That's been mentioned before and that will just do more harm than good. If you dislike a post at all, I personally would like to know why and talk about it, have a discussion. Otherwise it ends up like Facebook with a bunch of liked/disliked thread with no posts.

  9. Interesting idea Way. I'm not sure about the whole "let's give them a free month mod trial" necessarily but, more of a VIP pass perhaps?

    So for example UOTM earns:

    +Included in upcoming Staff meetings

+Able to view the graveyard forum

    +Stick their OWN posts

    etc.

    Edit:

Could even go as far as giving members who have become UOTM some "perma perks" if you will, such as:

    +Increased PM space

    +New/personalized CoDz themes/backgrounds

    Or something of the like.

  10.  For real though, we should have another group like "infamous" which is awarded to posters with constant outstanding posts. It should also be black and white striped! (Or maybe a greenish blue if it has to be solid.)

We do, it's called "Hall of Fame" :P

Also, the idea about this whole "adult section" already sounds like it's just a forum waiting for trouble. Unless you're basically willing to lift some rules and put an age restriction on it, then I don't see the point in it either.

  11. If you can or just did make it so the random topics weren't anything off topic or teammate finder related threads then it would actually be pretty handy. I've gambled with it once and I think I came across 1 or 2 actual zombie threads after about a dozen tries. I typically just browse through the "New Content" option 99% of the time.
