Persistent Upgrade for falling?

So I was playing around on die rise and fell off one of the ledges and got the green orb you get when you earn a persistent upgrade I thought this could be some sort of PHD flopper so I tested it out to see if I still took grenade damage and if I still took falling damage and neither seems to be changed. Sorry if this has been mentioned on other topics, I looked through the first page and didn't see anything.
