Azoth, Mercury and Element 115 connected?

(This thread is heavily inspired by @RequixEclipse's comments on the CoDZ discord)

In ancient alchemy, 'Azoth' was a mythical universal medication that was sought by many. It was believed to be the essential agent of transformation in alchemy, it's name was given to mercury, the animating spirit hidden in all matter that makes transmutation possible. It was believed that our world was surrounded by a sphere of lights or stars, with beyond that the Schamayim, or Heaven. This Schamayim is the Universal Mercury, or Azoth: "The measureless spirit of life".

Quote

"The life force from the Dead World allows the bearer to flow with all creation." - Kronorium

The term 'Azoth' was considered by occultist Aleister Crowley to represent a unity of beginning and ending by tying together the first and last letters of the alphabets of antiquity; A (Aleph, the first character in the Phoenician alphabet AND the Alpha, the Greek first letter), Z (Zeta, the final character in Latin), O (Omega, the final character in Greek) and Th ( the final character in Hebrew). From Alpha to Omega...

Now I really recommend reading @Tac's thread about The Great War, connecting not only the Vril, Nordic and Lovecraftian mythos, but also their energies. Aether, Element 115, the Welteis, Ethereal Energy and Vril might be very well be the same thing, or very similar (Different levels of concentration). Note that these energies, or Vril at least, are also capable of great healing and great destruction, already applied by the Ancient ones. No man is able to handle this energy, thus we need conduits to vessel this energy to our will: the Golden Vril Rods is a very compact example of this.

Moving on, before the Second World War, Hitler was aware of "Anti Gravitational Fields" very early on in his rise to power.  It is speculated that he became interested when when he would see glowing orbs following around aircraft. Now, old mythologies involving Vril Energy mentioned ancient flying pyramids called Vimana's, using a so-called Mercury Vortex Engine as well as the power of an Eclipse to form a Tornado that activated the anti-gravity mechanism inside the vessel (this is also what we see on the Shangri-La loading screen). After getting familiar with the mythos, Hitler put his top scientists on the job to figure out as much as they could. One thing they figured out was the existance of "Super fluids" that are essentially metals that can be transformed into a liquid state and effectively conduct electricity. The prime example of a "super fluid" here on earth is Mercury. A type of Mercury that is believed to exist is red mercury, a substance of uncertain composition purportedly among others, used in the creation of nuclear weapons. The Nazi's also equiped it on their most top-secret project: Die Glocke. Die Glocke was a metallic object said to be between 12 to 15 ft tall and about 9 ft in diameter, in the shape of a large bell. The device ostensibly contained two counter-rotating cylinders which were be filled with an extremely unstable radioactive mercury-like substance, violet in color. This metallic liquid was stored in a tall thin thermos flask a meter high encased in lead. Additional substances said to be employed in the experiments, referred to as Leichtmetall (light metal). Among these was thorium and beryllium peroxides. Richthofen applied this technology on his inventions as well: The purple cilinders in the Matter Transference Devices are also believed to contain this liquid substance, as well as the Wunderwaffe DG-2. Later, the Ascension Group had a project running named 'Project Mercury', in the community known as the 'Gersch Device': a portal to/through Aether.

Now this Mercury, actually a not-that-rare type of metal, seems to play a major background role in our story, connecting Die Glocke, teleportation, Shangri-La and possibly also Vril. Since Azoth is connected with Mercury as well, which is believed to have healing abilities, just like Vril, what is the role of Element 115 in this? Also, has Broken Arrow a Die Glocke-like device using Mercury? In Der Riese Doctor Maxis said that they need a larger conduit to channel the energy. As @PINNAZ mentioned in the other thread, is this conduit what we will come across in the upcoming DLC?

The Vril Society in Germany believed that the Aryan race was a creation an Aeon, through the medium of the 'Black Sun' -

which is represented as a form of Swastika, and had originated close to

the Pliades from a star cluster,

These people consider that in vril they have arrived at the unity in natural energetic agencies, which has been conjectured by many philosophers above ground, and which Faraday thus intimates under the more cautious term of correlation: ‘I have long held an opinion,’ says that illustrious experimentalist, ‘almost amounting to a conviction, in common, I believe, with many other lovers of natural knowledge, that the various forms under which the forces of matter are made manifest have one common origin; or, in other words, are so directly related and mutually dependent, that they are convertible, as it were, into one another, and possess equivalents of power in their action.’According to Zee, all Vril-ya are trained in the application of vril, which can be used to control the physical world, including the minds and bodies of others, as well as to enhance the telepathic and telekinetic potentials of the human mind.

Eclipse Entry: Celestial Sphere

The Celestial spheres, or celestial orbs, were the fundamental celestial entities of the cosmological celestial mechanics first invented by Eudoxus, adopted by Aristotle and developed by Ptolemy, Copernicus and others. In this celestial model the stars and planets are carried around by being embedded in rotating spheres made of an aetherial transparent fifth element (quintessence), like jewels set in orbs.

In geocentric models the spheres were most commonly arranged outwards from the center in this order: the sphere of the Moon, the sphere of Mercury, the sphere of Venus, the sphere of the Sun, the sphere of Mars, the sphere of Jupiter, the sphere of Saturn, the starry firmament, and sometimes one or two additional spheres. The order of the lower planets was not universally agreed: Plato and his followers ordered them Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus, and then followed the standard model for the upper spheres; there were other disagreements about the relative place of the spheres of Mercury and Venus.

This information must be explained clearly so I begin with this entry

I wonder if that’s what the orbs are on the Nuketown loading screen? (Also present on Shangri-la  loading screen)

Mercury orbs / balls?

It can also be seen on the Moon loading screen, though this can be discussable as it may also be the grit coming off the excavator:

excavatordown.jpg

I therefore even remember theories about the Nuketown loading screen actually taking place on the Moon's surface. What the orbs are, I don't know. We see Vimana's flying around and even landing on the Moon while the excavator is digging, so if it would be Mercury in this picture it could originate from the Vimana's.

@RequixEclipse Yes, the Golden Rod is believed to conduit Vril force. After all, this is what Richthofen needed to handle the Focussing Stone's energy, he couldn't do that himself. In Tibet, it is believed that the Golden Rods, or Vril Power Generators, create a harmonic resonance loop with the Earth's natural electromagnetic field: the Schumann field. This basically exists because the space between the surface of the Earth and the conductive ionosphere acts as a closed waveguide, thus creating electromagnetic waves. I think this is also why Richthofen lost connection with Earth after the impact of the Moon missles:

Quote

Maxis: "Good. Now that I am in control of the station, we have one last chance to sever Edwards link with Earth. I will calculate the position, retrieve the artifact, and take it to the launch platform."

Question is, what is the Vril egg? Why does this cause such a major impact damage and why does it sever the link between the Aether and Earth?

Vril Staff - Occult Reich.png

Eclipse Entry: Vril Staff

The vril force is most often applied through the use of a device known as the Vril Staff which, like the vril force itself, requires many years to master. (The narrator is not allowed to hold one, ‘for fear of some terrible accident occasioned by my ignorance of its use’.)The Vril Staff ‘is hollow, and has in the handle several stops, keys, or springs by which its force can be altered, modified, or directed - so that by one process it destroys, by another it heals - by one it can rend the rock, by another disperse the vapour - by one it affects bodies, by another it can exercise a certain influence over minds’.During his protracted stay in the subterranean realm, the narrator learns of the system of government by which the Vril-ya live. They are ruled by a single supreme magistrate who abdicates the position at the first sign of advancing age.Although their society is entirely free of crime or strife of any kind, they consider strength and force to be among the finest virtues, and the triumph of the strong over the weak to be in perfect accordance with Nature.Democracy and free institutions are, to them, merely the crude experiments of an immature culture. The government of the tribe of Vril-ya was apparently very complicated, - but really very simple. It was based upon a principle recognised in theory, though little carried out in practice, above ground - viz., that the object of all systems of philosophical thought tends to the attainment of unity, or the ascent through all intervening labyrinths to the simplicity of a single first cause or principle. Thus in politics, even republican writers have agreed that a benevolent autocracy would insure the best administration, if there were any guarantees for its continuance, or against its gradual abuse of the powers accorded to it.There was ... in this society nothing to induce any of its members to covet the cares of office. No honours, no insignia of higher rank were assigned to it.The supreme magistrate was not distinguished from the rest by superior habitation or revenue. On the other hand, the duties awarded to him were marvellously light and easy, requiring no preponderant degree of energy or intelligence. After a number of adventures in the subterranean world - and a great many conversations with its denizens - the narrator comes to the following conclusion regarding the ultimate origins of the fantastic Vril-ya race.'This people - though originally not only of our human race, but, as seems to me clear by the roots of their language, descended from the same ancestors as the great Aryan family, from which in varied streams has flowed the dominant civilisation of the world; and having, according to their myths and their history, passed through phases of society familiar to ourselves, - had yet now developed into a distinct species with which it was impossible that any community in the upper world could amalgamate:'And that if they ever emerged from these nether recesses into the light of day, they would, according to their own traditional persuasions of their ultimate destiny, destroy and replace our existent varieties of man.Although greatly impressed with the knowledge and accomplishments of the Vril-ya, the narrator is nevertheless terrified by their power and the ease with which they wield it, implying at one point that, should he have angered them at any time, they would have had no compunction in turning their Vril Staffs on him and reducing him to cinders. This uneasiness, coupled with his natural desire to return to the upper world and the life with which he is familiar, prompts the narrator to begin seeking a means of escape from the subterranean world of the Vril-ya.Aid comes in the unlikely form of Zee, who has fallen in love with him and has attempted to persuade him to stay, but who nevertheless understands that an unrequited love cannot result in happiness for either of them.It is she who leads him back to the mine shaft through which he first entered the realm of the Vril-ya. Upon his return home, the narrator begins to ponder the wonders he has beheld far below the surface of the Earth, and once again hints at the possible dreadful fate awaiting a blissfully unaware humanity at the hands of the ‘Coming Race’.In the final chapter, we read: 'The more I think of a people calmly developing, in regions excluded from our sight and deemed uninhabitable by our sages, powers surpassing our most disciplined modes and virtues to which our life, social and political, becomes antagonistic in proportion as our civilisation advances, - the more devoutly I pray that ages may yet elapse before there emerge into sunlight our inevitable destroyers.'
