Specialist Weapons in Zombies

Recommended Posts

So far, we have had three Specialist Weapons in Zombies and will no doubt have more in the future. I think that the way we are getting them at the moment is a stable system, at the moment, with them either being a Buildable or the result of a Quest. I have a few questions about how people think they should be in Zombies and I am hoping to spark a discussion about them.

How should they be obtained? Buildables, quests, the Mystery Box or some other method?

Should they be upgradeable? We had the Swords, which were upgradeable via a quest, but should they not be able to be put in the Pack-a-Punch? The Annhilator should definitely be upgradeable, but should others like the Ragnarok?

As many Wunder Weapons seem to be based off of Specialist Weapons, should the Wunderwaffe DG-2 be a Specialist Weapon? At the moment, it is worse than its previous counterparts. But, if they were to improve it then they could balance that by making it a Specialist Weapon. Or, is it fine how it is?

In a map where there could possibly be multiple different Specialist Weapons, should they be obtainable like the Bows where a player chooses which one or should their be a certain Specialist Weapon binded to each person that unlocks after doing something in game? (For example, Takeo will always have the Annihilator or Ricthofen will always have the Ragnarok)

I also have some questions about the mechanics of charging-weapons (that you push RB + LB to activate)

I wager you could code anything to be a charging weapon. However, what happens if there are TWO charging weapons in the match? Are they exchangeable? Can you only choose one? What happens to your total charge if you switch?

So many questions...

I don't like the idea of certain specialist weapon would be binded to one specific character since you can't choose which character you're playing with. Also that would lead to rage quitting in public matches on round one if you didn't get the specialist weapon you wanted...

Yeah, I don't care about Public Matches though. I feel like they just hinder good features and they shouldn't be played, unless you get a lobby with nice players and not brats.

I don't even know four people that play video games, so don't forget about randoms please, hahaha. I usually play solo, but once in a while it's fun to play with more players.

About the specialist weapons, is that a multi player thing? I read it a lot and I never know what it's about....

But how you say it they would leave at the Start of the game and not midgame - where you put in effort and time... So you dont waste this...

On the other side how you say it you cannot choose the Player so it will be stupid in solo....

That is one little thing they could change with ease, and I'd like to see that implemented in zombies. Even without character-specific weaponry. I enjoy listening to some characters more that others.

Yeah it's better for them to quit in round one if they're gonna quit anyway, but still... personally I don't even play public matches on zombies, but still...
