When Is Mob of the Dead Set?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I don't have an Xbox, but have been following the release like a hawk and been busy posting on my blog (http://blog.nickscotney.co.uk) discoveries as and then NGT and Syndcate have found them.

One thing I wanted to discuss though is when is the map actually set? On the Wikia page it says February 26th, 1932.

So here is the loading screen (taken from NGT's video) and you'll see that I've circled the date on the newspaper clipping. To me it looks like it's October 17th, 1917. It's not a high enough resolution so I can't zoom in to see for sure. What do you guys think?

Regardless, with both of the dates that I've mentioned above, neither seem to fit in with the construction of the GG Bridge as construction didn't start until 1933.

Thoughts?

DO NOT believe everything you read nor hear. NO ONE has confirmed the date for this map yet. AND it looks like it is going to be a difficult question.

I was just reporting what I'd seen. I know that information that someone has put on a wiki is about as reliable as a Chocolate Firegaurd :)

Lol okay. What I find strange is the signs all over the place. They seem to imply that they've had zombie prisoners for a long time.

It looks to me like October 17, 1917, like you said. It's ranked as the 9th worst stock market crash in American history, lasting from November 21, 1916, until December 19, 1917, so October 17 fits the timeline. The crash was a result of us entering into World War I. Why there is the newspaper, I'm unsure, but it's certainly not the date of the map, that's 100% guaranteed after June 13, 1932, due to the newspaper in the trailer.

Plus, like I said in my first post, the GG Bridge construction didn't start until 1933. There's more to this that we need to uncover. I'm sure it will all unravel itself in due course. Here are some events I've found for that date:

October 17, 1917 First British bombing of Germany in World War I.

October 17, 1917 "First train over the Quebec Bridge over the St. Lawrence. This was constructed by the Dominion Government for use by the National Transcontinental Railway. This bridge was notorious in that it fell down twice during construction: On August 29, 1907 the south cantilever arm collapsed killing 65 or more workmen."

It is totally possible for someone to own an old Newspaper to hide their journal of secret escape plans inside. It is also possible for someone to start planning to escape the prison years prior to the event, but one thing is undeniable and that is the Golden Gate Bridge did not begin construction until 1933. As for the exact date there is no way to tell for sure.

I think we have our answer, as it's revealed during the Easter Egg.

Listening to the first Audio clip that you get on the Easter Egg after entering the 4 inmates numbers, the 4 are escaping on New Years Eve (December 31st), 1933

So the newspaper on the right doesn't seem to have any significance, date wise at least
