The Different Zombies Universes (Plus Time and Location of Each Map)

Recommended Posts

I'd like to point out something about your MotD dates.

At 9:40 am in the morning of August 11, 1934, the first batch of 137 prisoners arrived at Alcatraz, arriving by railroad from the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas at Santa Venetia, California, before being escorted to Alcatraz, handcuffed in high security coaches and guarded by some 60 special FBI agents, U.S. Marshals and railway security officials.

Keep in mind we know two of our characters are from Chicago and New York, not Kentucky. We know it from their newspapers.

Sal:

Billy Handsome:

So we are confirmed to be past August 11, 1934.

3arc is known to put things in their advertisements that arnt really in the map, like the helicopter in the background in the ad for Die Rise. We can more accurately place the time period from images from the actual in game photos.

As you can see the cable construction has begun, but it doesn't look likethe suspended structure construction has. This is something ET2RNAL407 posted in one of my threads:

"August 1, 1935: For the first time since construction started, on August 2, 1935, the Golden Gate Strait was to be closed to shipping. Shipping was to be held up for 15 minutes while bridge workers strung the first tramway cable between the San Francisco and Marin towers as part of the operations to ready the span for the construction of footwalks (catwalks) that had to be constructed before cable spinning could begin. Shipping would be held while a barge sunk a one-inch cable to the 350-foot bottom and the cable was hoisted into the air between the towers."

Seems like we're also past August 1, 1935. But I can't be sure that that's the way the bridge will be on the map.

Sorry for being so stingy about the dates. I just saw a lot of research on it and I though we were on to something. :D

Haha, I think you mean Kansas. However, from that same article it states that those original 137 were "notorious bank robbers and murderers" and we know how Billy Handsome killed 116 people, so I'd say that that makes him notorious, so I'd agree it's after that date. We know for a fact it's after June 13, 1932, since that's the date on the Chicago newspaper, and after January 5, 1933, since that's when the bridge began construction. What's the date on the New York newspaper, do you know?

EDIT: It's to blurry to be sure.

I can't tell for sure what exactly has been made and completed due to the fog, so I'm not sure there.

Don't worry bud, that makes two of us. We're both really stingy on dates, hence why I made this thread :)

Well this must confirm the date.

However, few were as audacious as the one undertaken by four inmates, on New Years Eve, 1933.

Who know's if it is still 1933, but when we play there it is December 31 from evidence of the fireworks you see going off in San Francisco.

It is also said in various history that the Prisoners in Cellblock D could hear the crowds celebrating on New Years Eve as the Cell Block faced the bay & the wind blew directly towards them carry the sounds of laughter & happiness.

The Prisoners there get punished by the cold winds that blew in from the bay & get punished by hearing laughter & happiness on New Years Eve while they are in solitary confinement.

Just thought that was interesting too.

Actually, Tac, wouldn't it be 9:35? Not 9:30. "9:30 Lights out". "9:35 Weasel begins a song and dance routine."

Yup, I missed that, thank you a ton. Also, like in my other thread, looking for critique on how to make it better, whether it be aesthetically or on the content :)

Post-Green Run and after 1996 in Province 22, China.

Uhmm, I'm not sure if Tac every found this out, but Province 22 is Jilin

The dark blue is Jilin, when you search 'Province 22', you'll find out that it's north of North Korea and its nowhere close to where Die Rise is really located.

There's a flag in Great Leap Forward (located near the escalator by the buyable door in the spawn room)

^ Can't posted the picture by itself it rather too big.

The flag shows the skyline of Shanghai.

Shanghai is not part of any province, but rather its a Province-level municipality. Its called the Municipality of Shanghai.

Just wanted to tell Tac about his so he can update his info about Great Leap Forward's location.

Even if Tac doesn't say it on this thread, there are numerous references to Die Rise taking place past 2025 (futuristic fridges, old 1996 poster, 1998 building, SDC logos, flatscreen monitors, various future quotes, etc.). The game tells us that it takes place both in Province 22 and Shanghai. How is this possible? In 2025, China fell under a new government, the Strategic Defense Coalition. Therefore, a new provincial order is not to be unexpected.

And that's where you're wrong.

If Die Rise where to be in 2025, I'm pretty sure it would've looked futuristic. 3Arch, as anyone should know by now, reuses texture files and other things just so that they don't have to create new ones.

Also the SDC isn't the new government, its a East Asian Chinese-led strategic military alliance.

Next time, try to get your info correct.

I wouldn't quote the CoD wiki if you're looking for a reliable source of info. I literally could go in there and write what I think is accurate, even if it's wrong. And really, there is no need to be a stickler on info like that. The SDC obviously isn't around now, and they were big in the future, so we can safely assume that these logos were put down in/around 2025. And no one said the buildings themselves need to be futuristic. The Rockefeller Center in NYC has been around for over 70 years. Those 80-something story buildings in Die Rise could've been built around now and still be standing in 2025. We see examples of this in-game also.

Please stop directly targeting MMX's posts. Just because you disagree with a few of his statements doesn't mean you need to discredit every post. Your last statement made the entire post come off like you were trying specifically to make him look bad. I say this because 7/12 of your current posts do this as well directly to MMX. I get that you're new to the site and you want to jump right into things, but don't start by making enemies. As Infest would say, we're all friendos here. Just try to get your disagreement across in a nicer fashion.

I appreciate the support, bagel. However, that will not stop me from replying. And yeah, every single page on the CoD wiki has error(s) of some fashion.

Die Rise look futuristic? You realize the "future" is only 10 years away, yes? It is 2013. We were supposed to have flying cars by now. Humanity progresses fast, yes, but we often have our goals set higher than we actually attain them. A city in 10 years isn't going to look too much different than one now. And I don't think making Chinese SDC soldier zombies is a reused texture. You'd have to say they were reused textures, rigs, and meshes, which is to say, unlikely. In fact, the textures for the zombies in this map are unseen anywhere else in the game. The textures aren't reused.

The SDC is China's government. In fact, in the campaign, unless you directly assassinate the leader of the SDC, China will not aid you in battle. Only when you kill the SDC's leader is China's government finally able to get out of its rein.

You misunderstand, my way of life IS information. If you're going to challenge me, ask anyone, you're asking for a challenge.

Other evidence for 2025+:

There are two refrigerators present in Great Leap Forward that are futuristic-looking. They tell you not only the weather outside but also the traffic and radio. They also have multicolor LED touch-screen displays. Fridges such as this simply do not exist. The technology hasn't developed yet.

Also, a poster for a makeup brand says "Since 1996" on it. The phrase "since [date]" is only used in marketing to show off longevity. This is used in Macy's, the Farmer's Almanac, CocaCola, etc., to show they have been around a while. Companies market 40-year anniversaries, not 4-year ones. Therefore, an advertisement displaying this shows us that 1996 is "a long time ago".

Also, Shanghai is not in Province 22. Yet this map takes place in Shanghai, in Province 22. How can they both be the same place? Well, they are. How can this be? We must think of an explanation. Here's one: different government of a future China (SDC China).

Also, Samuel himself says "I put the F U in future!", and Misty says "This is the future. Kinda."

"This is the future." I don't how much more specific you can get.

Some other things to note: the computer monitors are flatscreen, showing this is definitely in or past present day; the Jin Mao Tower, a landmark built in 1998, is still standing; the International Zombie Center, an organization that in 2013 does not exist, is present

I can answer if that's okay.

Buried is located in lower central Africa. I would place my money on Angola. It's also located on the "Primary Plates". However, that's just as specific as saying that it takes place on Earth.

Hmmmm allright, thanks.

I was told it was in the Horn of Africa. I can't confirm, but Angola was my original idea but I've heard otherwise many times

Well look at it in the world map. Also, the map has specific Angola references. That's why I say that.

I don't have the map, or an online connection so I can't see the location in the world map. However, the world map can be off sometimes, like with Green Run being shown in Southern California. But cool, thank you.

Who told you the "Horn of Africa"?

I've just read it around, was told about it once. I don't know where the original source is, but I'm hearing it a lot and just haven't seen any backing for it.
