Richtofen.

Because for years and years, Medal of Honor and Call of Duty have been treading lightly, didn't want to hurt anyone's butt over a game where you play as the bad guys. Everybody knows Nazis are evil in much the same way as everyone knows that the sky is blue, the grass is green, and the snow is white. But if a game was released where you played as one of them, you would think there'd be a media backlash. If they'd cast you as somebody caught up in the Third Reich's war machine, with no say whatsoever, only orders, and you'd go invade France, drop a few bombs over Britain, storm Poland, attack Russia and watch as they come down on you like a wall of bricks, fall back, fight in Africa, Normandy, Holland, the Bulge, get kicked all the way back to Germany where you continue to fight a losing battle until you either surrender or die, they could easily make you into a good guy on the wrong side.

But no. They didn't go the easy way out. They made you an EVIL motherf**ker. "Beware the Doc." They made your character into Doctor Mengele with a tesla gun. You're like the Red Skull - a stereotypical villain. If he had a moustache, he'd twirl it as he tied women to train tracks. If he had a cat, he'd pet it as he sat in the boardroom of his secret underground lair. If he had an apple, he'd take a bite out of it while staring at you, contemplating a million ways to kill you.

And that's WHY he became a favorite among fans. He and everyone else in zombies is a stereotype - Dempsey's a badass war hero with not a whole lot going on upstairs. Nikolai's a fat drunkard and a real lady killer. And Takeo has a katana and an overinflated sense of honor. But nobody complains because everyone knows it's all in good fun.

Now, I would LIKE it if they did a WW2 game from the perspective of the Germans, the Japanese or the Italian fascists, simply out of completeness, but for now, Zombies more than suffices.
