my ps3 has been yellow-lighted for over half a year now. my dad was to lay to fix it in the summer and now my parents wont because i dont have strait a's, which i have never had in my life....

Why not screw xbox over like they screwed you over with their cheap heat sinks. My warranty died ages ago so if i got rrod im screwed so i routinely clean my xboxs innerds so why not fix the heat sinks for around 30$? it doesnt take long its better then xbox support :evil:

my 360 just got the red rings of death!!! and BO is 2 days away!! FML WHAT AM I GONNA DO?!?!?

mine has been to its usually a cause from the mother board overheating but first b4 you freak out make sure the power cord (both to the surge box and the xbox plug in the back) is secure and if it gets a red ring prop something to hold the plug in on both ends so it has a firm connection i did this and mine is fine.

As a side note, I've had my PS3 for almost 3 years (it's a 60 GB) and I've never had the YLOD. Am I just lucky or is my time near? :?

Ive had a few ps3's now but the latest one lasted about 2 years before it got the YLOD. Just keep your ps3 as cool as possible and be careful not to move it around too much cos its cause by solder melting and getting hairline fracture that short the circuit.
