    Looks like this had been solved. Can you confirm?

    "... MAXIS, HAVE YOU FOUND THE SPACE-TIME COORDINATES FOR THE OTHER INDIVIDUALS I ASKED YOU FOR... ITS IMPERATIVE THAT WE FIND THEM AS WELL... YOU MUST TRUST ME ON THIS... FOR MY PLAN TO WORK, WE NEED THEIR BLOOD"

    I can't confirm right now, though it looks correct... Odd why they gave us so many repeating numbers and a lot of numbers just for the middle part... But I can't say that it isn't right. It's quite an interesting quote!

    EDIT: removed.

    EDIT2: I think what he did was take any number within the comma delimited numbers and just went up with them. Very interesting cipher - I think it is correct though. I got "... Maxis" so I assume the rest is correct. I will double check later though.

  2. Glitching Queen posted on Reddit the HD scraps images - Figured we could spark some more interest in this with better images.

    I just noticed this, but if you look at the breaks in the background you can see 8 columns. Not sure if this is useful, but some people were commenting on the post saying it could be Gel Electrophoresis and it is pretty clear they were correct. I'm reading up on it now and seeing what it could have to do with the numbers.

    Fairly sure the background could potentially be either DNA for a zombie or DNA for a spider. I'm leaning towards like a virus or something that shows up in an infected being's DNA.

    I've created a Google Sheets for anyone interested in seeing what has been done. There are 266 unique characters, which isn't a bad letter count for a homo-phonic cipher, I believe. I can't tell if @Draz missed any pairs when going through it, so I may go back through just to double check.

    We have the "Character" or the number that corresponds to a character in the far left column, the number of times it appears, the percentage of its appearance based on the entire text and finally speculative values for what they could be. The I/ A's are the only possible values for these because they are single without and commas. That is, if we are going under the assumption that words are divided by lack of commas. And this is going from @Draz's transcript so it could be that there is a comma joining these that I am not aware of.

    So what I am doing now is going back through to find a path through the numbers and making some guesses at specific letters. I believe I left a frequency of the "words" that appear, which will be good in possibly figuring out potential 4-letter words: https://www3.nd.edu/~busiforc/handouts/cryptography/cryptography%20hints.html

  4. I have a clearer image of the cipher in the bunker - I'll double check tonight to see if I can get a better image of the Dragon room piece, but last time I tried it doesn't allow you to move. But I may be able to go into third person to get a better view.

    Also, good job @Draz on that transcription! (: It looks really great! I think since we have pairs of numbers [N, M, O] (where these represent numbers) it would be nomenclatures for those pairs. We would still have a lot of ciphertext with this approach.

    My other thought is that this and the other scrap is connected... But since (I think) this is the first time we've had two scraps of paper on a map, it's likely they could be separate. I haven't had too much time to work on this, but hopefully I can get to it soon!

    Good job to everyone who has found and worked on this! Kudos to you!

    EDIT: I went through and added the frequencies of the sequences. This makes me think that these could be words (Based on their freqs) and that the numbers are nomenclatures for letters. This is similar to the cipher in DE, but in this case we do not have a chart to go off of. But, we can perform "letter" (number) frequency on these and distribute accordingly. The catch to this will be that some letters will reoccur more than once, so they will have multiple numbers associated with them. This will be more tedious than difficult I think. I'll start on parsing your text file, @Draz, and seeing how many times each one appears. Since we have so much, we should get a pretty clear frequency graph. Once I figure out how to upload things, I'll add my text file.

    EDIT2: I've finished it: Letter Frequencies

  5. Solved the one from the reddit post. Below is the plaintext.

    While the loss of the Rising Sun Facility was unfortunate, the Emperor was so impressed with our final results that he has approved the construction of the new Division 9 facility on the island we selected. He assured me personally that he will spare no expense in advancing our research. You and I both know that what we accomplish at this new facility will win the war for Japan.

    What was used was the Vigenere Cipher with the alphabet from The List and the keyword: shinonuma

  6. I've gone through with the cipher with the numbers and tried to map out a possible graph of it. I'll attach that and then I also tried to jot down all the numbers, so I'll attach that as well. I was hoping to make more progress on it myself, but figured we could probably all make progress on it much faster!

    These are probably not all accurate as the image is hard to see.

    Also, the image is thanks to @Draz I believe. I think that was his watermark in the middle. d:

    Thanks @certainpersonio :D

    But I still don't get it the last sentence.

    Maybe the plain text is :

    "Urgent telegram. We have just received word that the private plane carrying the expedition crew encountered freak atmospheric event which caused it to crash killing all on board including the famous explorers Brock and Gary. This comes weeks after their announcement about finding the location of Shangri-La"

    It makes more sense to me, but who knows?

    Okay, I think you are right about "their" before announcement! After that "fight" should be swapped for "about" - the plaintext now reads:

    "Urgent telegram. We have just received word that the private plane carrying the expedition crew encountered freak atmospheric event which caused it to crash killing all on board including the famous explorers Brock and Gary. This comes weeks after their announcement about the location of Shangri-La"

    Wow! Y'all keeping Tac busy updating the OP

    The Expedition Crew?

    At first I thought it was the Nacht Marines, then I thought it might be the Verruckt Marines? Then I thought it might be the O4 test subjects & that's how they ended up at Shi No Numa?

    But Brock & Gary?

    I'm loving all this backstory tie-ins. But like any Treyarch map, we are left with more questions than answers!

    Awesome work y'all!

    (You get Brains & you get Brains & you & you & you)

    Agreed! I need to sit down sometime soon and work out what all these ciphers mean! Everything was solved roughly at the same time.

    Also, I believe I mentioned you in one of my videos, but I'm not exactly sure how to pronounce your name... Any hints? (:

  9. @certainpersonio and I, along with help from 96nKsk and @MrRoflWaffles, have just completed the Crossword as well as the Spawn Room Cipher. We expanded upon a twitter post that had many of the solutions already, which can be found here: https://twitter.com/96nKsk So huge thanks to him! This would not have been possible without this start!

    There were some discrepancies with some of the solutions, so we had to update them a little, but for the most part they had many correct solutions! The final solutions are all compiled here: http://bit.do/bWtnd

    Finally, we used the solutions from the crossword to input into the Spawn Room Cipher. I initially split up the cipher into A's and D's and was thinking two different polybius squares or something were being used to get the answer. Showed this to @certainpersonio and he apparently had just seen a crossword puzzle and speculated that A was across and D was down and ended up being 100% correct!

    Spawn Room Cipher - CipherText:

    [Refer to Image]

    Spawn Room Cipher - Deciphered [With Stops Included]:

    Quote

    Urgent Telegram [STOP] We Have Just Received Word That The Private Plane Carrying The Expedition Crew Encountered Freak Atmospheric Event Which Caused It To Crash Killing All On Board Including The Famous Explorers Brock And Gary [STOP] This Comes Weeks After Their Announcement About Finding The Location Of Shangri-La

  10. TGca Cipher Solved:

    " Entry 56: Just finished a very long shift. We were awaiting the test subjects arrival from the castle but they never showed. Those group 935 pigs didnt even bother to radio the asylum to let us know they were not coming. I am getting sick of those arrogant scientists. They have given the asylum the nickname Verruckt Asylum. I loathe it. We are as every bit as important to the completion of project as they are."

    So this was simply binary mapped to DNA codons. Here is a link to the site where I found the connection. (Forgot to add it lol) http://www.extremetech.com/extreme/134672-harvard-cracks-dna-storage-crams-700-terabytes-of-data-into-a-single-gram

    It has been speculated that this is not the end of this cipher. It could potentially house another meaning which is revealed by the way the TGca pairs are sequenced. Or it could have something to do with the torn up papers strewn across the map.

  11. For the spawn cipher, once we have the crossword finished, we can use those words to insert into the cipher - Thanks to @certainpersonio for finding this out with me! So once that is done, this other cipher will be figured out as well.

    This is just to let everyone know we somewhat completed that cipher! (:

    Also, I'm nearly done with the above cipher - TGca cipher.

  12. Hello all,

    I've recently been creating a program with a friend to implement frequency analysis in a program in order to construct a phrase from the ADFGX ciphertext. Sadly, either my implementation was incorrect or the cipher does not follow the english letter distribution found here: http://www.math.cornell.edu/~mec/2003-2004/cryptography/subs/frequencies.html

    So, what I've done is broken the alphabet into two parts - the upper half of the graph displayed on the page above. I am going to continue tweaking my code throughout this weekend, but I am hoping to gather several people who have relatively fast computers to help me compute different variants of the ADFGX based on the keys I'm sure everyone who has been following is familiar with. (fedcba, fedcab... etc.)

    If anyone has experience in programming and would like to lend a hand, let me know! Though, the point of this post is to find people to compute the keys. If you are interested, please post below. I will write a little blurb below of what is needed to start computing.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1. Eclipse IDE - https://eclipse.org/downloads/index-developer.php?release=mars
    2. My Project - https://github.com/WaterKH/TreyarchCodes-Ciphers
    3. Change file Resources.java - This file was setup for my computer and when I was having gigabytes of text being written. I've now implemented a word it looks for before writing to file, which saves a lot of data from being written. To change, go to Resources.java in Eclipse and change the save and load location to where ever you saved the CipherKeys.txt. I may change the program to simply save in the project location since I am not running into memory issues.
    4. Since we will be distributing the keys out, I want to get everyone on the same page so that we are all computing different keys - this way we won't run into duplication.
    5. I'm going to need the files back that are going to be saved, so once finished I'd like everyone to upload their files to a dropbox or Google drive or something in order to get the data back to me.
    If you have any questions or concerns let me know! I hope to get several people from this community involved so that we can make quick work of these computations. I believe we will be doing something like 16! permutations. While this is a lot, 26! is a looooot more. This is simply a last ditch effort before I go back and try to implement another attempt of letter frequency analysis.
    Thank you to anyone who participates and I look forward to working with you!
