I see the durian, or pufferfish or whatever being one of 3 things:

-Some kind of collectible part, which isn't likely as it comes from a normal zombie.

-You can take this plant and plant it in those areas that have the round hole with the origins-circles on the side to make a trap of sorts.

-It's a puffer fish and it will allow one to push zombies away under water.

This stands out to me the most.  We know from the video that something "Grows" from the ground and eats a zombie, so to speak.  This would be a new to the franchise of sorts.  The first I have seen any sort of planting was in Der Eisendrache's free gooblegum EE.

  2. I cannot poll but it does seem to have some kick to it.  A little pep in it's step.  I love the fact that the most recent topics posted has made a return.  Makes it easier to keep up with what is going on.

  3. Could this new drop, as seen in the trailer, be available in all the rest of the map prior to the update, or do you think that it is going to be map exclusive.  Here is my analysis on both.

    • First off, when they made the death machine available, it was hued in a different color.  The exact same color, however, as the tram fuse, which is blue instead of the yellow/gold we are used to.  If I am not mistaken, this drop is the same color as the other drop that fell next to it.  This is new as well, because it marks the first time I have ever seen a "Double Drop" (I am working off memory, so chime in if you see any discrepancies).  Being the same color makes me want to believe that it is a new sort of drop that WILL be available throughout, but if the "Double Drop" is a thing, then that makes it a different mechanic altogether and is likely map specific.  What do you think???

Does the hue of the drop mean anything???

  4. I think they change the pack a punch machines to allow it to make sense for the map that it is on.  After all, the box has changed its colors before as well and even having them in the first place is like voodoo magic to me anyway, so I digress.  The point is that we will always have to do SOMETHING to access the OP weaponry that we see in BO3 and we have always had to do/pay/accomplish something in order to access it.  Because it may resemble the Division 9 theme is just aesthetic to me.  I still am required to find out it's secrets in order to use it.  I am just waiting for them to replace the box we know for a box that never moves again like in Nact, and make it super hard to access so that it's goodies are that much more difficult to get.  Not only would it make the Gobblegum that much more popular, but would also kick those god-forsaken noobs in the butt.  I would love to see that!!!

P.S.  The "Original thread" was all things Trailer, right?  Maybe off on a wild tangent but, I thoroughly got a kick out of seeing you two "DUKE" it out.

  5. I looked up these "Durians" and they grow on trees.  This looks more like a Pineapple plant of sorts.

    Theory:

    • Pina-cola (pina colada) - Could be a progressive like perk, requiring a certain amount of growth time before it's use, just like in the SoE harvest pods.  Or not a traditional perk-a-cola at all, but more like SoE, where you have to harvest these around the map for a reason.

Either way, I am digging that photo.  I have yet to see the trailer.  Have to wait till I get out of work before I can bask in the excitement.

  6. I could see hte time bomb being useful.  Having to go back in time, after you have accomplished a set of goals could be a thing.  It is after all a time traveling epic.  The mechanics wouldn't have to be changed to much either.  Just accomplish the goal and hit the timebomb to finish the part of the easter egg.  Could be a thing????  I like it!!

  7. Ok, we already have run into all of the above in some form or another.  Here is the past and future possibilities for the upcoming 115 horrors.

    1. Humans - Obviously, this is nothing new.  We have a miriad of examples that have shown up through the maps.  These include Zombies, Panzers, the Pentagon Thief, Astronauts, George A. Romero, Shriekers and Napalm Zombies.
    2. Animals - Beginning with Fluffy, the original hellhound, animals have also been a staple to the Zombies dialouge.  Others have included the Nova 6 Crawlers, which also could have been considered to be human at one point, Monkeys, as well as the DOA Gorilla, and the flying bugs in SoE.
    3. Plants - Plant life has rarely been used in the series.  Der Eisendrache utilizes a plant for a small EE and SoE has the Harvest Plants that produce the wonder weapon part and other drops that help you along the way.

Do to the last entry not getting much face time in the past leads me to believe that we will see something significant with plant life in this upcoming map.  Could it be a Venus Fly Trap like 115 horror?  This is possible, the Giant map's EE is "The Flytrap" after all.  Then again, there is other ways to catch a fly.  Speculations have added the possibility of a Giant Spider.  Either way, I think Treyarch has fully covered the human aspect of zombies to such a point that the other two categories have a greater chance in being utilized.  Personally, I am fond of a Jumanji type vine system being annoying and overbearing on progressions in the map.

    What are your Ideas???

  8. After seeing the Staffs, then Swords and Bows, it looks as if the trend of giving us a similar weapon with all different perks won't go away anytime soon.  If that is the case, which of the Specialists weapons are left that would fit this medium.  I really don't see anything in particular but would love to see something like the MotD Hatchet comeback.  With the new multiplayer weapons that have been added, this could be a possibility.  Giving us a break from the elemental thing and giving us something that is not only useful, like grabbing distant perks, but could be EE related and necessary.  What are your thoughts on bringing back the Retriever???

  9. Coagulant was made for a reason.

I think every one of these new maps are going to have a severely different strategy than the last.  We may be using a single GobbleGum or Perk more or less than before.  That is always a possibility.  I think we will see another large map before it ends.  With it, hopefully, we see alternative game modes as well.  Give me something to play for the next three years.

    CUSTOM ZOMBIES

How do I play these maps on Consoles???

I think we'll have either a basic power switch, or no power switch and the whole map begins with power on.

I don't think we'll have generators like origins, or an electric zapper mode like MOTD or COTD. BTW, ziplines in COTD were free-to-use. The pay-to-use ones were only in Shi No Numa.

As for the sewers, I'm very attached to the idea we'll be swimming in them, and they'll be flooded. I DOUBT we'll ever see them empty or drained. I say this because we KNOW the island is water-logged, and getting rid of water is an issue already.

That's right....but in CotD, you still had to pay to open.  Either way, we are shelling out coin for sure.

The water issue presents us a challenge to over come to possibly complete the Easter Egg.  It could go either way, and I am getting antsy just thinking about it.  Every DLC brings me closer to the end, and that makes me sad to see Zombies go, but I am also thrilled with the exhilarating ride.

Your thoughts on that mountain terrain in the distance???  Zip Line there????

What do you think about a change in the format?  NO POWER!!!!

The last time we had no power switch brought some interesting changes to the genre.  SoE, Origins, NuketownZ.  Each have something unique.  This should be no different right?

What if the sewers are an integral part of traversing the map and you have to drain the sewers first to use them?  If there is a swimming element, and I am almost positive there will be, I think that it will be of nominal use.  It will probably useful to accomplish goals rather than fight the undead.

I think the zip-lines are going to be the same "pay-to-use" just like in CotD.  Just can't see anything like a free bailout ever.

    What do you think???
