  1. Update: recently went through Taylor's Journals again. The final entry for the "last" mission, Life, is a mess filled with jumbled dialogue from the campaign as well as code deciphered using the phonetic alpabet. By now, members of the community have deciphered it, and one message DEFINITELY stands out: Delta-Romeo-Alpha-Gold-Oscar-Victor-India-Charlie-Hotel-Kilo-Romeo-Alpha-Victor-Charlie-Hotel-Echo-November-Kilo-Oscar-Sierra-Tango-Echo-India-November-Echo-Romeo-Tango-Hotel-Echo-Sierra-Echo-Mike-Echo-November-Mike-Uniform-Sierra-Tango-Delta-India-Echo. Translation: DRAGOVICH KRAVCHENKO STEINER THESE MEN MUST DIE. This last entry does not seem to be Taylor's alone. Rather, it appears to be Corvus breaking down. This is huge. Why would Corvus even know of this saying? It simply does not fit, unless Reznov is a part of Corvus, just like the other victims. I do not know how they would have the technology back in his time, but it's the best explanation I have. It does not make sense for Treyarch to throw in a random easter egg here, when these journal entries have helped to reveal the true story to us so far.
  2. Thanks for the kind words! You're almost definitely right... I'm just constantly looking for a connection to the other Treyarch campaigns, other than the world that Black Ops 3 is set in. I feel like it should have a title other than BO3, considering the original Black Ops wasn't called "World at War 2" but built off of the events WAW... I just want closure. And by that, I want to know for sure if Reznov died in Vorkuta/where the hell Alex Mason was for 30+ years! Who knows, maybe there's something crazy hidden on the data terminal. :P
  3. That's a great question, and why I still can't get fully behind the idea either.
  4. Make no mistake, Reznov is dead. Corvus itself, however, is the combination of the consciousness of many people. His thoughts and ideology would have been uploaded into the program, if this were to be true. It had to start with someone. My best assumption is that he was captured rather than killed in Vorkuta, and in turn placed directly into the program/machine. According to Black Ops 1 Intel on the terminal, they knew Reznov brainwashed Mason. The CIA likely wanted his talents. No, he doesn't have a human form any more... but being the first consciousness uploaded somehow gave him control over the program and the other thoughts that make up the AI. Reznov is no longer alive like a regular person.. but at the same time, he's alive in the form of the AI hive mind Corvus. It's said in the final mission... "Corvus has found a way to give people life after death".
  5. He doesn't become Corvus itself, but would be the original consciousness uploaded into the program. In the scene where Hendricks mentions that "all the people didn't volunteer", we see that their thoughts have all been put into the Corvus program against their will. In order for Corvus to even exist, though, there has to be an original victim/test subject. Resnov fits, based on Corvus's consistent hatred and attempts to hunt down those who created the program. It's actions are very similar to how Resnov hunted down Steiner and the others...
  6. I'd like to start off by saying: wow. This campaign was very interesting, and the entirety of the Frozen Forest scenes blew my mind. However... I pieced something together throughout the game. It may sound very odd, but I have a feeling that Corvus is Viktor Reznov. Hear me out here, because there are a lot of little details to make up this analysis. Let's start with the idea that Reznov was the beginning piece of the Corvus program. This would mean, rather than being killed in Vorkuta, he was captured and underwent the process that made him into what he is. Reznov was able to manipulate Mason through mind control, just as Corvus does to Taylor's Black Ops team. Now for the fun part: the evidence! First, look at the mirrors of both the characters in the game and the major events. Right from the beginning, you miss extraction and are left behind defending your escaping squad. This is very similar to the situation with Alex Mason in Black Ops. The player can be compared to Woods in the sense that they followed the orders given to them, while Hendricks resembles Mason in the fact that he gives in to his subconscious. Kane was similar to Hudson's CIA role. The biggest evidence in the "mirrors" portion is the player's character watching their close friend Kane die from Nova 6, exactly how Reznov watched Dimitri. Corvus specifically tricks Kane into dying this way, which is crazy. For some reason, Viktor is recreating this painful moment from his past (Notice the brief Black and White here, too). Why would Nova 6 even be in this area to begin with? Now, for some additional clues. The World War 2 battle during mission 8. Why? I understand that Hale studied and wrote about that battle, but it seems like such a clear hint to Reznov remembering his past as well (The area outside of where you fight the zombies in this mission looks very similar to the sniper mission "Vendetta" from World at War, another possible connection. That could just be me seeing things, though). There's an odd use of crows in the final sequences. The only connection with other Treyarch games that comes to mind is, again, the "Vendetta" mission where the crows are eating bodies in the opening sequence. This was another major memory for Reznov Finally, this line of dialogue from Hendricks when you enter the Frozen Forest for the last time. "...let's call it Corvus, after it's place of birth..." A quick Google search of Corvus, Russia leads to... you guessed it, St. Petersburg, Reznov's birthplace. The final minutes in The Frozen Forest are ENTIRELY focused on the concept of who Corvus is. It doesn't accept the fact that it's just an AI, and apparently neither does Taylor. He begins yelling "Who are you!?" as well. It seems to cut off right before a big reveal. Take the disguised voice away from Corvus's dialogue in the end, and picture Reznov saying those lines. The smoky presence is gone, and we see the real reason for the corruption of the hive mind. Resnov. Somehow, he found away to sabotage a future Black Ops project like he did during the code war. Could there be a clearer ending? Perhaps after beating the story on Realistic, which awards you with a trophy/achievement called "Nobody Will Believe You"? Seems like an odd title and appropriate name for this theory... Perhaps somewhere in the Data Vault? Update: recently went through Taylor's Journals again. I'm sure there is tons of evidence for this that I passed up, and even more that helps disprove it, but I thought it was worth sharing. Thanks for reading!
  7. Very interesting idea with building the fly trap... Treyarch did say there will be a new, major quest Easter egg, so that may be part of it. Man, I cannot wait to play these two Zombies maps!
  8. First off, welcome to the forum! As for the shield, that was the only common buildable item that I noticed in that trailer... However, the different types of swords may be buildable just like the staves on Origins were... There may be up to four different sword types to build and upgrade so each player can have one, just like the staves were. Buildables never really bothered me personally, and it looks like they're back in some form for Shadows of Evil. Highly doubt we'll see them in "The Giant", though!
  9. Yeah, I feel the same way. Shadows of Evil looks genuinely fun, and very unique. I love the Noire atmosphere and the storyline they're setting up with it, which seems very similar to Mob of The Dead. Great cast of characters, by the way! The wait for The Giant's trailer is killing me, though!
  10. Thanks for the link! There wasn't all that much mystery in the O4's World at War Bio's either. They were more detailed, but it was the same base format. I think that they're saving the real mysteries for the actual map itself this time around.
  11. I absolutely love the style of this map, and the story seems really intriguing. Only a few months to go!
  12. To clarify, the campaign is four player co-op on PS4, PC and XB1. On PS3 and 360, it's limited to two players. That's why I'm worried that Zombies could be limited to only two players as well on last-gen consoles. It's unlikely that it will, but we've had no confirmation on anything else related to the last-gen version of Black Ops 3, so it's something to consider.
  13. Didn't notice that text, that's a really good point. Remember that the co-op campaign in Black Ops 3 is limited to two players... It's a shame, but entirely possible that the Zombies maps are limited to two players as well...
  14. I feel the same way... I have no idea where they're going to take the main map that ships with the game, but I'm super excited. Hopefully they tease this map during the reveal as well. "The Giant is rising."
  15. Return of the O4, a Zombies-heavy collector's edition, and a Der Riese remake... All the dreams are coming true, and the actual reveal hasn't even happened yet. Damn, do I love Treyarch!
  16. Love these, especially the Augmented Reality maps! The Enhance Yourself For A Better Tomorrow website made it sound like they could do anything with this concept - They even re-created Rome in the first module. I'd love to play in the Roman Coliseum if they extended that idea into the multiplayer... A World War 2 setting, the White House, anything is possible with this.
  17. All we know is that it's confirmed to be upgradeable, and that your friends can join to see your awards and weapons. But I completely agree with the way you're thinking, with the interactable items and it being a way to transition between modes. This is a really good concept by Treyarch, and it could be a great one if it's done right.
  18. Loved this interview. They seem to be really confident in what they have made, and they sound like they enjoy their own game which is really important. Mark is always upbeat and happy, and Vahn is usually more stressed out because of all the crap he sees in his Twitter feed every day... Vahn seemed really sad about that thing he had been working on for a year that got scrapped, too. Poor guy, knowing his love for Destiny it was probably Exotic weapons Couldn't help but catch Mark saying it takes place "primarily" in the future... Considering James C. Burns is still hyping us up, I'd expect to see a flashback of Woods or something similar, because he is very dead by 2065.
  19. For those who have played the Black Ops 1 campaign, doesn't this part of the trailer look eerily similar to when Mason Executed Steiner? In the snapchat teasers, Dr. Salim talked about the test subjects having "attacks" and thinking that the implanted memories are their own. What if this character with the gun somehow has Mason's memories, or what if they are using the same brainwashing technology to control the soldiers? Resnov may have messed with the entire technology rather than just Mason, and in turn affected those in the future. The character yelling and kicking down the door reminds me a lot of Hudson's role in that BO1 mission... And the fact that we don't see the gun holder's face and the background is blacked out means this section is important...
  20. Well, looks like you were right! The grapple was shown a few times to connect melee attacks throughout the reveal. And even your human battery idea is proven. After every jetpack or powerslide, your character has to "recharge" before they can do it again. Hell of a job!
  21. That makes the most sense. At first I was looking at the characters, but then I realized that the guys we know have been through enough and the time periods don't make sense. I loved the cast of the first two games to death, but at the same time we've already seen most of what they've done during their lives. I'd be fine with them returning in some way, but at the same time it'll be nice to start fresh with new people in the Black Ops universe. They could always reach out and use Hudson's children or something ridiculous, but I'd much prefer (like you said) for the world around us to be the connection to the other games. Thanks for responding!
  22. Huh, I thought that blood and gore looked like it was in Campaign. It's confirmed to be in both! Check the scene of the specialist character (with the bow, I forget her name). The enemy literally explodes into 100 pieces... Aside from that, the shots of shotgun kills in slow motion show arms being blown off. I was confused at first too, because it's a mix of campaign and multiplayer and it was hard to tell them apart. Which is actually pretty good. That's pretty cool! First time since WaW to have blood and gore in multiplayer. Yep! First time since World at War that we're getting a co-op campaign and a beta, too. Treyarch has definitely taken advantage of the 3-year-cycle, and I can't wait to play it myself.

  24. Hey, there's a difference: PlayStation players got a crappy strike and 3 useless armor sets! Both companies need to stop. Microsoft has bought out COD for too long, and the way they made Tomb Raider an Xbox Exclusive was disgusting. Same goes for PlayStation and their Destiny advertising campaign. I want nothing more than all content to come out at the same for every platform, but there's too much money in it for them to stop... Dividing the gaming community and feeding the "console war" is obviously worth a few extra sales to them...
  25. That was a really good reveal, and there were some nice little things in it. I personally love that the blood and gore is back in Multiplayer, and the underwater shooting can easily be worked into that underwater zombies map that was always discussed.
