  1. @Nightmare Voyager @DaveLo07 @Spiderx3000

Thanks guys for putting these in spoiler tabs. :)

And hey: It doesn't even look that bad now, does it? :P

I agree it doesn't look that bad but my point is that even with the tabs, this info is going to be everywhere very quickly and people will hear about it either way. Users will mention it in other threads or in chat inadvertently. Some things are just hard to shy away from unless you choose to go off the grid, which most won't.

In an ideal world it would be good to avoid spoilers but it's near impossible these days. It will be even more disappointing if it turns out DOA2 is an unlockable mode as all surprise will be lost.

We can at least make an effort to be spoiler free, can't we?

I didn't read anything spoiler-ish apart from this thread (Which like I already said is my own fault for having too much faith) and Mockings thread.

I doubt that it is hard to keep the discussion about these things that can be spoiler related in one thread.

And even on Youtube: Liam and Waffles never put any of the trophies in the title of their videos, you know?

It is hard to be spoiler free obviously, but not impossible.

And for the record: I don't want any of you to be censored or anything. But putting things in a spoiler tab is very far away from censoring something, in my opinion.

I don't think your making that much sense, the glaringly obvious thing here is why are you on this post if you don't want spoilers? Like here we should be allowed to discuss freely but any other post spoiler tabs should be used and if they aren't the message should be deleted.

Because someone may want to check out / talk about the achievements without getting spoiled? Since the actual site hides the hidden achievement, it only makes sense that you would subsequently use a spoiler tab when discussing said achievement.

    It's no rocket science.

  2. Since when is the ocean like 20 meters deep?

Also since the map is underwater it feels like such a wasted opportunity not to have any playable areas in the water, instead we're stuck in yet another Atlas facility. Yay.

If Exo Zombies had a map on the moon it'd probably another small ass random atlas building with all this fancy scenery and stuff going on outside but no way of actually getting there.

Too bad that Treyarch probably won't do an underwater based map now. ; (

And the ending was absolute shit.

  3. It doesn't have anything to do with polycount or texture, it has to do with the game having to read that player A is wearing A Gloves with A Exo and A pants and A load out with the A weapon. Where as BO3 will be: They're playing as character A with weapon A. No matter how you slice it, a game where the console is constantly referring the same 9 identical models will always function better then a game where there's X amount of options for different renderings of gloves, exos, hats, ect.

The game has to correlate a player's outfit, as well as his weapon, when he fires, and several other aspects of the game. The more you ask any computer to take and alter with different combinations, the more processing power will be taken up, and thus, all the more lag as the game is not only trying to pinpoint and sync player's position, but the different aspects of their outfit as well.

Evidently you don't know a thing about game programming. All of these different combinations are just arrays of C++ text, categorized under gloves, shirts, boots, et cetera. 'Reading' these and telling the game which gloves to render on which soldiers would take the game a few milliseconds, and no matter if there are 50 different gloves, or zero, it wouldn't have any impact on framerate or lag with today's hardware.

Especially considering they probably had to update some parts of the engine just to support all the new customization options.

  4. What I mean is that it takes MORE power to produce a character model with all the tiny details like the goggles and gloves compared to a cookie-cutter soldier. Because now the game has to render the gloves and the rest of the character model as opposed to, for instance, one of 9 character models that will be used in BO3.

So what's your point? Advanced Warfare's rendering engine was written from scratch, allowing the leap forward in graphical fidelity.
BO3's soldiers will probably have an even higher polycount and texture resolution than AW's, so that'll take even more power to render. Nothing wrong with that.
And again, this has nothing to do with lag.

  5.

It sure does look beautiful in games like AW but the controls and movement are awful. Exo-Zombies feels like WaW it's that rough. There is also numerous graphical and sounds issues still present due to the engine.

Pretty sure movement and controls are all script-based.
Frostbite also has some pretty well-known graphical and sound issues, like right when a level has loaded in Frostbite there's texture pop-in and it can take a few seconds before all sounds are loaded. Dunia is  graphically impressive but also lacks in other areas.

    i.e. no engine is perfect.

  6. 4:They're still using the SAME GOD-DAMN ENGINE: This is something that should have been solved by ghosts, but it wasn't, now it's the dawn of BO3 and the issue isn't resolved yet. Infinity ward will need to pull that rabbit out of their hat if they want ANYONE to buy Ghost's 2.

It's never going to be resolved.

Battlefield's not changing engines. Fifa's not changing engines. Assassin's Creed's not changing engines. CoD's not changing engines.

1: Waste of DATA: This game is credited to be the most visually appealing COD known to date, and I'd agree with that, but what's NOT appealing is when you look away from the gameplay, and instead look at the MP and zombies experience. Those little details like one of the many goggle variants you can get, that takes up DATA, DATA THAT COULD BE SPENT ON REDUCING LAG BY SIMPLY NOT EXISTING.

You can't simply remove lag by removing 'data', it doesn't work like that. You can reduce lag and getting shot around corners by improving a game's net-coding.

Now notice: I did not say anything about Zombies being a copy-right infringement

Activision owns Treyarch and in turn owns Zombies. Activision also owns Sledgehammer Studios, so who are they stealing from again?

  7. @ETEl2NAL407 Because the PC port is an unoptimized piece of shit made by like 12 people in a few weeks, as evident by the performance problems almost everyone is having and the glaring lack of video options (textures only going up to normal, turning off certain features causes the game to crash, constant random hardcrashes etc.).
If by play fine you mean at a steady 30fps or with most if not all graphics settings turned down then I might as well just play the console version instead.
I'm running gtx 980 myself and the game not being able to maintain a steady 60fps is a joke. It's also not like the game's performance is justified because of the graphical fidelity, the game doesn't look all that great.

Bottom line is that the game is so taxing on PCs because they, again, didn't bother to optimize it for PC at all. And last I checked this is one huge ass budget game.

  8. No they really were not. That is nothing like the page behind Buried, what is with the assumptions about the comic book lately.

The blueprints behind Buried say 1915 Maxis.

The Mauser's blueprints say 1915, Maxis.

Even though visually yeah they're not the same image they're referencing to the same thing, the Mauser pistol design made by Maxis.
This has been known since Treyarch posted the Mauser's design on their FB account.

  9. @Black Hand Smith @Lenne

I think it's fine if homosexuals get married. Just as long as they don't expect us to suddenly just welcome them with open arms as if they were normal people.

Ever since it became legal my drama teacher has been talking nonstop about his Partner and by this point I just want to punch the bastard in the face.

If you are gay I'll probably just ignore that part of you. However if you shove it in my face I'll probably make a very offensive joke.

Thankfully being a homophobic asshole isn't 'normal' either.
