  1. I love love love this idea.

Couple of questions.  What kind of evidence will be necessary to offically be placed on leaderboards?  Although I'd love to, I don't have the capacity to record games, thus end game screenshots or small phone videos is as good as I could do at the present moment.  (Maybe the new game in 2015 will have an "export" feature for theater videos to directly export it to a dropbox or other file sharing service   :)   )

To be honest, I've thinking about this, I think what we might do is require screen capture of you're leaderboard to prove what round you have achieved. This isn't going to be something that needs to have "video proof" for everything. However, if you are claiming a high round, I think what @ has aid makes sense.

@the_clay_bird We'll probably impose some kind of round limit. For instance, anything beyond Round 70 would require video proof. If you're on Black Ops II, theater mode should suffice. Live streaming could also be counted as video proof given that you had at least one viewer who can support the high round claim. If no proof can be given for higher rounds, then it just can't be added...unless a note is made that the round is questionable [the area would be denoted with a *].

Anything less than that round will just require an end-game image and/or video. I would like to think that our community is very honest with leaderboards and personal records. :)

Definitely, at the end of the day it's a leaderboard for CoDz and not everybody has access to a capture card. So claiming a round should be easy for them, the database doesn't care whether that round is legit or not and to be honest if you have cheated to get a round 70, it's not really worthwhile submitting it.

I think image proof upto a certain round should be fine, then video proof for anything above it with full gameplay will be a necessity. Fastest easter egg completions, speed runs etc will require video footage of the claimed round.

At the moment, I don't play solo, I play everything co-op because I prefer to play as a team but just to get on the leadeboards, I would play solo as well.

I might even create fields within your profile that can highlight your rounds. I hope to get it up and running in a few days but we have just been really busy with our personal lives and with other projects that we are working on. More news will follow very soon.

  2. Hey All,

OK. So the world records database was causing a little bit of misunderstanding. The staff have been having a chat for the past few days and we have decided that the world records database is not proceeding in it's current format.

We will be going ahead instead with a CoDz Leaderboard, this will only be available to CoDz members, you need to have registered to be able to submit anything to it. It will not be accessible publicly, so this means guests or validating members. It won't even be available to the "New Members" usergroup (at least I think this might be the best way).

Without going into the details of what was discussed and why it isn't happening we just feel we should continue to do our own things and what we are good at. We don't have anything against anyone or any website. We just have a vision on where CoDz is going and what we would like to introduce to our members.

The crunch being "our members" - the services and features we offer will be for our members and our members only. You don't need to pay to be a member, we don't ask for cash for member status (although we welcome donations towards server costs).

So basically, the CoDz leaerboard will be for our members to submit their co-op / solo rounds, we'll even add speedruns and fastest easter egg completion sections and whatever we think would be relevant. We'll relook over the rules and what constitutes fairness for being submitted. Obviously certain things won't be allowed, but why not check out how you compare with fellow members on different game modes for call of duty zombies.

Gives you bragging rights on the forums ;)

So from me personally, apologies to everyone for any hassle or confusion. What we are going to do, is basically what we had discussed many moons ago (in fact you'll see leaderboards available on the frontpage). So it's not something new we are doing, just making what we have better utilized within the CoDz membership.

We'll even see about the design of the database and see if we can jazz it up a little. Thanks for you're understanding folk's, we'll iron out the details about how we are doing this for our members shortly and let you all know.

  3. It's within the designed game mechanics, Treyarch introduced the astronaut, the tunnels and the excavators.

Whether they overlooked the fact that he could be trapped or whether they knew he could be trapped is a different question. However, here is the most important factor in the whole equation, it has never been patched.

Irrespective, it is part of the game mechanics, it's not like your are entering part of the game that you shouldn't be (i.e. wall glitching). Logic dictates that it is not glitching.

  4. @Tac@@@PINNAZ

The blank pages would have been from the conversion and spam threads, of which there was literally (thousands, hundreds of thousands from vBulletin alone. I'm not claiming the transfer to have been 100% perfect but I'm looking into an alternative way to bring all of the information over and having them assigned to the relevant person (correctly).

Whether the option works or not, I have absolutely no idea until I give it a try. If my theory is correct, then it should actually be flawless. I would rather do it this way, than assisgn each topic/post manually.

  5. @GRILL

I've always been a quality vs. quantity kind of guy. For criteria, I'm not sure if the number of years a person has been registered on CoDz (not to be confused with active years) is a considerable factor. I only say this being we definitely have Legends [in my eyes] such as @PINNAZ and @Hells Warrrior who have provided tremendous work despite only being here for a fairly short time compared to other Legends.

Now for Veterans, I can definitely agree we may need to do some number hunting. Brains could be an option but I'm worried that it's not entirely dependable because we barely re-introduced it so everyone is fresh on Brains, and we're still struggling to find common ground with what kind of posts to give brains...though I think that will improve over time. To me, being a Veteran sounds like a long-standing member; a CoDz Grandfather/mother, if you will. And if that's the case, years + brains + UotM definitely works. :D

Aww shucks, I've got a tear in my eye.

  6. For Hall of Fame, I completely agree that it should be about what you've done, past members (who meet the criteria) should be awarded such group. On top of that, so should current members who want to be active. They shouldn't have to quit the site to be recognized. However, I'm curious what would happen if someone who's active is inducted into the Hall of Fame AND THEN becomes part of staff, is that going to be allowed? Will they be allowed to take part in both at the same time?

Well, you can have a main group and a secondary group, the staff group would always be the first one (if they became a HoF and a staff member). No reason why they can't be in both, you can even have the secondary group cover HoF and Donor, if need be, we could also show all of the groups images (moderator, Hall of Fame, Donor) for example, but might be a bit much lol

  7. Welcome aboard @CarelessRockets where about's in Scotland are you from? I'm from sunny Fife and @DeathBringerZen is also from sunny Scotland.

Vinyl collector eh! what era? I have a fair few 60's, 70's, 80's - although most of vinyl is from the 90's and the bouncy techno era (ReZ, Fubar, Nosebleed, Metro, those were the days).

  8. Apologies for the forum being offline earlier and no prior notification, however, we have now updated the forum to the latest version in the current version history. The brings a few security updates and minor bug fixes.

You won't notice anything different, although we have put a new menu item Apps, where all the applications such as arcade and live streams can be found. We may add more to this and reduce the overall menu amount over time.

  9. @

They are one in the same to be honest, personally I would take brains away and change it from Brains to Likes. However, brains is fundamental to CoDz.

Brains is earned, brains are for hard work.

Likes, are for anything, that falls into that category and other categories. You can give brains and likes to the same post, it's not a case of one or the other (although no one has said that is the case, I just want to point out that it's not).

No one gives brains to a post that gives a joke, no one has a outlet to say you know what, I liked that. Well now they do. Whether it stays when we upgrade the forum to the new version in a few months time or not is another question but it's here and in a few months, we just need to ascertain and review what we have and what we need.

  10. I'm looking into notifications but at this stage it has not been coded into the application. I'm also looking into whether you can view who thanked you, when they thanked you.

The suggestion of switching the brains and likes system around would certainly resolve that but then we would face the same issue with brains and determining who supplied them and when.

  11. I bought Ghosts, actually technically that's not true. The boy bought it, got a kick in the ***e, Microsoft refunded it, still have ghosts. Don't play, don't want to play it. Extinction was a massive, massive let down.

Easter Eggs - LOL - wtf?

Yellow bunnies or whatever they are, wtf?

I'm buying AW, purely as the boy wants it. So I'll be playing it on the one and sharing the game. I'll buy one DLC for it and if it sucks I won't buy anymore. However, when Treyarchs release comes out, we know it will have zombies, you know we'll buy the DLC / season pass - however, with Zombies, they need (no, they MUST) make content available year 2 - 3 years with no zombies will be the final nail in it's coffin and maybe even CoD.

  12. Lets be honest, the game has a limited amount of space available to it on disc. Whether that has been used or not I'm not sure, however, the zombies mode isn't a cash grab by Activision and we (consumers) need to look at it correctly.

The game ships with several multiplayer maps, survival map and campaign (I don't know for definite how many survival maps exist from the off). Excellent, we are getting a decent deal here (still expensive though).

DLC time, so what can we do, give them more of what they want, multiplayer and survival maps with the DLC and that they already got on the main purchase. So we are not having to pay for zombie survival, we are paying for DLC extending the contents of the main purchase.

Don't look at this as a cash grab just because of the zombie survival, it's a cash grab by all publishers otherwise DLC wouldn't exist imo. The micro transactions are the real cash grab here and a sure to be included this time around.

  13. Could agree more @Slade - I want them to find their own feet and if it turns out to be better than what we expected (nothing) then that's a huge bonus. If the campaign and multiplayer are decent, then I might buy it.

Still contemplating that just now, my fingers on the purchase button lol

  14. I don't wan't anything from it to be honest, I suspect that it will not evolve from a survival mode and waves of zombies coming at you on different maps.

Lets be honest, it's not Treyarch zombies and they aren't trying to be either. I think they are catering for the zombie players with a mode they know we like (zombies). It will be pretty decent as a surival mode and different from the other surival modes we have seen.

    Let's hope it's not a let down.

  15. IF YOU'RE TELLING ME TO STAY LIKE THIS UNTIL MONDAY ALL I CAN REALLY SAY IS....
