  1. Right folk's, I'm going to take the new site down for a brief period so you won't be able to access it. I'm going to actually copy the current database from here and upgrade it to the most recent version (RC2) and then put it back online. I'm going to go through all the work we have done and tidy it up a bit, so I'm only going to have the default style (out of the box) to show for everyone.

Once I have completed the checks and so forth, I'll put the CoDz theme active - we'll lose what is in the bug tracker but I have a note of it (thanks @PINNAZ).

  2. I would say 4/8 weeks, although we have opened it up for you all to see a little bit, we still have a bit of work to do and we want to wait until certain things become available. It's RC which means release candidate but it doesn't mean it's gold yet (final). We also have 3rd party applications we want to be available before switching.

  3. @Hells Warrrior

I posted in the "Report Bug" section of the new site. Should I have done this? Or does that send the report to Invision?

Thanks for the bug report, it has now been fixed. I had basically set sidebar and max width on mobile incorrectly and it wasn't displaying as it should have. All resolved now.

  4. I am LOVING the destroyed world background!  It's important to point out the little things sometimes!

The plan is you'll be able to select your own background.

That's cool, exactly what we are after, it only goes to us.

Looking sexy. How long can we expect before we exclusively start using this new site give or take?

Roughly, maybe a month or two.

  5. So mobile friendly, a caveman could access it! Great work guys.

Yeah it's fully responsive and to be honest we are "more" interested in feedback from mobile and tablet users than we are web users, I simply haven't tested it as thoroughly as I want too but the suite has been rested extensively by the community and invision (it's pretty stable mobile and web). All feedback and bugs are welcome to be reported and improvement suggestions. We (staff) have the ability to make changes but the site is for everybody that uses it and we need to make it work for everyone.

The custom pages we are doing need to be as mobile friendly as possible as well, but some just won't be as responsive (by design) - we'll do what we can to make every page as mobile friendly as possible though.

  6. If you registered before the 8th February then normal login details should work, after the 8th February you will need to register as a new member.

It will be a complete and full replacement of the current setup, we have got lots of work to do, it has been pretty stagnant for a few weeks but we'll be starting to progress things forward very quickly now.

  7. Sorry NV, that cam across as snippy, wasn't intended. What I meant was read the OP, it's a copy of the database as of the 8th February (I didn't make that clear in the OP).

  8. We are opening up the new site to all

The frontpage is just a quick mock up and hasn't been completed or finalised. This very unlikely to be the final design of it. Just something for you all to get the idea of the landing page before accessing the forum.

Quite a lot has changed, especially with the editor, you don't need to insert an image or click on more reply options to add attachments. Simply paste the link to an image, press enter and the image will appear, this is the same with soundcloud, youtube etc.

The @ mention function, simply type @ then in lower case type the start of the persons username and a list will appear, you can select from that list. We'll write a more information changelog once we are ready to go but we wanted to give a you a taste of the site.

    However.

We have only opened up the frontpage and the forum for the time being, whilst we work on the remaining part of the site and features. You can login with your existing username and password (facebook/twitter/steam login options are not enabled but visible). Any new member that has registered after the 8th February 2015 will need to register on the new site to use it.

Remember, this is still in development, so styling issues and bugs may still be present. So we have a bug tracker you can use to log anything you see, this way we can investigate it and fix. Please give as much information as possible (screenshots, links, steps to reproduce if possible).

So feel free to browse, feel free to make as many posts as you want and don't worry about posting or creating topics in the wrong area (it's a copy of the database).

Any questions, please respond here or in the dedicated forum on the new site.

JUST GIVE ME THE LINK WILL YA

    patience, my friends, patience.

If you click here, you will be taken to the new look site (some of it anyway).

  9. We've reached a bit of a milestone folk's, the community suite is officially out of beta and has now entered what is known as RC (release candidate) before it goes gold (final) - they plan on doing quick updates every few days until the system is as stable as possible.

You'll be glad to know that the software has

    • zero pages of critical bugs
    • 5 pages of normal bugs (bugs which are not critical to the software, but could be an image of alignment slightly)
    • 5 bugs in total that are high priority but not critical

3rd party applications have already been released and in theory, we could switch over today (if we wanted too). We'll be waiting though until the gold version has been released (at a minimum) and potentially waiting until 2 or 3 third party apps have been released). Things have went from simmering, to near boiling. Der wunderfizz update is about to give us juggernaut.

  10. @RedDeadRiot welcome, you won't know me but I've seen your posts here and there. Nice to have you back (who is your younger brother posting?) - nice to see members from years gone by returning.

As @Tac has said things have changed a little not too much but still changed, the big changes are still due to happen fairly soon anyway. We've been concentrating on optimizing and stability over the last year and I think we are there now.

Anyway, glad to see you back any questions just ask.

  11. I used to tag around here during WaW and BO1, but after the hype of the latter ended, this place kinda lost it's feel for me. Taking it calm with personal life during Bo2, I have gotten my gender based problems somewhat together and I'm back for the hype of the next Treyarch CoD. Also during all this time I have matured up a lot in my own opinion, so you can actually expect some serious posts from me this time. So.. Uhh.. Anyone care to brief me on what has happened in here during the last 2-3 years? (and what happened in Bo2 Zombies story wise, I only played that one through casually in lack of EE company) Any response is appreciated :>

In hopes of getting back in to the community: Amantha

EDIT: I made new account to refresh those old "not so mature" comments off from my post history, would highly appreciate if the "Gas zombie" tag could be moved over

I would love to help but it is registered by post count, we would need to merge the accounts to do so. That would mean assigning all the post together, if that's off interest let us know.

Thanks for returning and the intro, I've supplied the intro medal for you.

  12. @Undead more will happen in time, we already have ideas for the next batch and we should probably consider this twice a year (every 6 months or so). We have some very exceptional members and we a few members that go above and beyond and we have those new members which are showing signs of becoming great additions to the family.

It's definitly something they deserve and congratulations to them all, going to be strange seeing their names in yellow but we'll all get used to it.

  13. @Technical Support

I am apparently still denied from "Chat" (only wondering because it indicated notifications) and the Introduction Medals page. No rush, I was just curious.

Hey @NaBrZHunter thanks for joining and posting a wee intro about you, unfortunately new members are "restricted" until 5 posts have been made. As @GRILL has menioned chat will become available after 5 posts.

You should also see the notice on the chat rules page.

I have also supplied the intro medal, any questions just ask.
