  1. I agree with 99% of what you said @MegaAfroMan the only thing i disagree with is that Mob of the Dead with randoms was tougher. Now maybe in the first week it was while people still hadn't figured the map out, but i think that SoE is overall a tougher map to survive on for casual players than MotD (coming from my experience playing with my friends who play a decent amoung of zombies but just aren't very good) I will also say that the rounds that are Margwa + Flies + meatballs that is doin' wayyyy too much there Mr. Blundell. It is time to tone it back and make the "boss round" a nice break from the constant zombies. The margwa itsself im ok with, but when you are throwing that guy in with flying critters, and huge meatballs rolling at you at 100 mph AND still the mob of the undead, its just too complicated and hard and it has taken away from the pure fun that zombies had at its peak. There has to be a way to balance this better, and making one map that can appease the casual fun-loving player in the way that Der Riese did, while also containing a massive side quest that could be completed optionally by the more hardcore players
  2. well this is just simply false. Maybe once you have memorized the locations of all the secret items, and what not it isn't necessarily a lot "harder" but tell that to my friend lovingly known as "Noobtar" who can't seem to stay alive trying to avoid the keepers while performing a ritual, but he has no problem linking 3 teleporters in der riese, or standing on a tile to open Pap in shangri la, etc. So yeah, doing the rituals for casual players of the game I imagine is a humongous pain in the ass and probably has prevented many from playing more on SoE
  3. That second paragraph is the one I really hope the team will see form the many people who have complained and will adjust this for the maps going forward. I am completely and totally fine with the Rituals in terms of their complexity and difficulty, if they were solely to begin the side quest full easter egg. That is fine. Like the samantha says, or hitting the eclipse on shangri la, etc. But as a mechanism to open the pack a punch which is a core gameplay mechanic, it is WAYYYY too much to require to do this every single game Please Jason see this and take the constructive criticism to heart!
  4. I agree, and it's really strange since Vonderhaar does such an excellent job engaging the MP community about what we like/dislike as well as providing context and meaning behind what they implement and why. If JB or even someone else like Peter Livingstone, or someone else on the zombies team would interact with the community on a semi-regular basis to hear what we like what we dislike, etc. Maybe they could tweak some things in future iterations of the game to align with what people like the most
  5. Well it does seem apparent that Blundell's vision for zombies and EE's is not "complete the EE and get one big reward" but rather the "each EE step gives you a small but useful reward" a la Origins. Problem with this is there's no motivation to ever do the EE again if there's no grand reward. I've done the Moon and Shangri La easter eggs dozens of times. Never completed any of the BO2 EE's more than once besides Mob, which was unintentional as a teammate just did all of it on his own without telling us lol. Anyway, @Hells Warrrior i have to disagree about the training spots, I think the ritual areas are all good training spots, as well as the rift/widows wine area. Wish there was a more viable camping strategy as well though, as not everybody likes the constantly running in circles option of zombies. I think all zombie maps should have a spot where you can camp and make it to 30. not necessarily any higher than that (buried was a little too easy to camp) and you can still train if you want to go for really high rounds Overall i'm still really liking the map, I LOVE the atmosphere and the jazz noire vibe to it. sledgehammer needs to take a lesson from treyarch on how to make a special and unique atmosphere in a zombies map.
  6. I have been having a blast on MP. Love the tracker perk, and good footstep sounds... played mostly hardcore TDM and it is like BO2 v2.0 with lots of improvements. A+ in my opinion
  7. can you elaborate what you are talking about? i've never seen the knife turn green or do any such effect as you stated
  8. Is the Dingo the best LMG by far? I've been liking the BRK double packed and then whichever one is Athena's Spear packed
  9. Yeah, my girlfriend fell victim to this the other night when she saw a max ammo she threw her monkeys like she always has on the map, and jumped off the catwalk to go grab the max ammo, and got immediately downed by zombies running toward the other monkey. it was quite the surprise to her. Again maybe it is a changed mechanic and is intentional, but its pretty surprising to people who have gotten used to the way these items have worked for the past 7 years
  10. Here's the problem. Me and 3 friends were playing last night. 2 did not know anything about how to access ritual pieces, perform the rituals etc. I knew pretty much how to do that as did friend number 2. So in trying to verbally guide the other 2 through going into beast mode and knowing where things are and what to shock, and what to melee and where to grapple to, about 75% of their beast mode uses ended with no progress being made. The only reason I knew what to do and where to go was watching a youtube video and practicing many times. So the first time we got 3 rituals done in about an hour and a half and we were on round 7 or 8 and the Margwa came and wrecked our shit. So one person dropped out, and we started again. this time we did finally complete all the rituals and place the gateworms, this time by round 10. again shortly after the margwa came, and then the rolling meatball destroyers of souls came and we were dead again. We played for 3 hours. only completed a total of 18 rounds, and 80% of our time was spent not killing zombies, but completing tedious tasks just to open up a core game mechanic that is essential to surviving to round 20+ The rituals are awesome, and super intriguing and are perfect for an easter egg step, but they have to stop making the first steps to these easter eggs be necessary to the normal gameplay elements of zombies like pack a punch or a wonder weapon. I stand by my long stance that a casual player should be able to play the map and have fun without even being aware that a large side quest exists, while the side quests are still there to challenge experienced players
  11. its identical looking to the original fly trap from WaW from what i can see
  12. i gotta agree here. now i haven't made it very far on SoE yet, but its been because of lack of map knowledge not because of overly hard AI imo
  13. My gf took me to an escape room place for my birthday this year and it was SO much fun I loved it.... I can only imagine how much fun a CoD zombies themed one would be!! Awesome!
  14. This is a terrible idea? False. This is a fantastic idea
  15. Well i havent used half of them, im actually disappointed that they didnt add them to the printer in the exo zombie maps, i even asked them too, but of course was ignored. I've no interest in the mp, not enough to try the weapons on there. I play a lot of MP, and thanks to a lucky SD drop last night i finally got my 3rd of the 8 new weapons. It is indefensible what they did with these weapons
  16. there wasn't a whole lot all year long that they did that made any sense
  17. The only way I would be in favor of remade maps, is if they come in addition to 4 new MP maps per DLC. I understand this probably isnt' the case which is why I hate this. I get it, they've made some maps that we love in the past. Now instead of giving them the chance to make our next batch of favorites, we are just going to get reskins of old maps. Seems lazy and seems that they perhaps don't have a ton of confidence that they can make 16 new good maps
  18. They confirmed this months ago. Link Dude go look for yourself I don't have time, how could you have missed that? Its common knowledge, get someone else to link it you. Wait where am I?? is this /r/codzombies? ELE everybody love everybody help him out and find where they ever confirmed this
  19. LOL so now the "collector's edition" is basically $20 extra bucks for 3 personalization packs. I guess we should have seen this coming. At least the DD edition is basically an extra discounted season pass...
  20. I am not anit-leak, and there really isn't much to be seen yet from what is out there. (or its possible that i just don't know how/where to see stuff lol) I am pumped to see this "The Giant" trailer tomorrow though... Im expecting some big time fireworks
  21. I was going to mention this here as well, there is definitely SOE gameplay out there. Personally I don't mind leaks, but I know a lot of you do so like Liam said, its best to just avoid twitter and reddit especially if you don't want to accidentally be exposed
  22. The official word i believe was that in the US, it will be available to play at 9 PM pacific time. so 10 mountain, 11 central, and midnight eastern. And then Midnight local time everywhere else in the world
