Sonic x Shadow Generations has been rated in South Korea.

The South Korean Game Content Rating Committee didn't have much else to say about the game when it published the rating yesterday, but did at least confirm the "action" game was suitable for "all" users.

Perhaps more interestingly, though, the publication of yet another rating for the recently-announced remaster will go some way to confirm to fans that the release window remains on schedule, and the game would appear to still be on track to release in autumn (Q3) this year.

  2. no-rest-for-the-wicked-moon-studios-(8).

No Rest for the Wicked's first early access hotfix has been rolled out, and a second patch is "already in progress".

As Victoria summarised for us yesterday, the Diablo-like game from Ori and the Blind Forest developer Moon Studios released to mixed reviews on Steam, but already the team is on the case in a bid to address "balance, durability, stamina, loot, stability, and immediate Quality of Life".

In a lengthy update on the game's social media accounts, the team said: "Thank you again to all of you for making our Early Access launch so amazing. Today's hotfix is the first of many upcoming patches and updates to improve No Rest for the Wicked on the road to our 1.0 release.

Bloober Team has seemingly amended the face of James Sunderland in its highly-anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake.

The switch came to light via an updated icon on SteamDB, leading some fans to speculate that the studio revised James' face in response to community feedback.

Whilst it's not been confirmed by Bloober itself – or been replicated on any other of the game's storefront assets or screenshots – James' haggard, grief-soaked face has been smoothed out to make for a less tense, more youthful, look.

Sony has confirmed LittleBigPlanet 3's servers will remain "offline indefinitely".

The servers were taken down in January, although it was hoped at the time that it would be a "temporary" situation.

Now, however, "ongoing technical issues" mean the servers will not be coming back online and all online services – including access to other players' creations – "are no longer available".

  5. The ROG Raikiri and Raikiri Pro Xbox controllers from Asus are discounted for a limited time at Amazon. The deal drops the price for the wireless ROG Raikiri Pro model to just $110 (was $150), and the standard ROG Raikiri controller down to $80 (normally $100), saving you a good chunk on two of the most feature-packed third-party gamepads out there.

While both ROG Raikiri controllers feature numerous high-end features, the big draw is the built-in digital-to-analog converter (DAC), which enhances audio while listening to a wired headset or pair of headphones plugged into the 3.5mm port. They also feature remappable rear buttons--two on the Raikiri, four on the Raikiri Pro--and customizable settings like trigger and joystick sensitivity, and button remapping, all of which is accessible in the ROG Armoury Crate desktop app.

ROG Raikiri and ROG Raikiri Pro

From there, the rest of the features differ slightly between the two models. The Raikiri Pro has a built-in OLED display you can use to modify some of the controller's onboard settings rather than the Armoury Create app. It also offers three connection modes: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, or wired USB-C. On the other hand, the standard Raikiri ditches the OLED screen and wireless connectivity for a wired design that connects via the included USB cable, and also has customizable RGB lighting. Both controllers support Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows.

We're not sure how long the ROG Raikiri discounts will be available, so be sure to grab them while they're on sale at Amazon if you're if you're interested in either controller.

As the calendar continues its ceaseless onward march, Epic has announced its next batch of weekly Epic Games Store freebies, which this time look very much like Cold War shooter Industria and post-apocalyptic RPG bundle Lisa: Definitive Edition.

Both games are free to add to your Epic Games Store library starting Thursday, 26th April, and if you need a nudge toward the 'download' button, here's what you can expect from each:

Industria, coming from developer Bleakmill, describes itself as an atmospheric first-person shooter set in Cold War-era East Berlin. "Unravel the secrets of a mysterious parallel dimension while searching for a missing colleague," goes the official blurb. "Explore a haunting reality where the truth awaits. Discover the dark past that lies beyond."

  7. Sony has revealed that it has shut down the online servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 indefinitely on PlayStation 4. They were temporarily taken offline back in January due to a number of reported issues.

On Sony's support page for decommissioned servers, Sony said that this decision was due to ongoing technical problems. As a result, all online services, including access to other players' creations for LittleBigPlanet 3, are no longer available.

User generated content stored locally on your PS4 and offline features such as the campaign will still be accessible. The servers for the PS3 version of LittleBigPlanet 3 were taken offline permanently in 2021 because of DDOS attacks. However, the PS4 servers remained online, but now that's not the case.

LittleBigPlanet 3 was released in November 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. In GameSpot's LittleBigPlanet 3 review, we said, "LittleBigPlanet 3 is the most difficult game in the series by virtue of its challenges. More complicated problems mean more tools to solve them, giving you a wide berth to choose your own path through Bunkum."

  8. Void Interactive, the developer behind the tactical first-person shooter game, Ready or Not, has confirmed that it was hacked. Fortunately, no player data or staff data was stolen.

In a statement to Kotaku, the developer blamed the hack on "critical vulnerabilities" that were discovered in TeamCity's cloud services for build management. No sensitive information was leaked and the hackers were only able to get away with "some" source code and screenshots of its upcoming projects.

According to Insider Gaming, the hack reportedly happened in March, prior to the studio publicly revealing it, and the perpetrators made off with 4TB of data. The data was reportedly stolen in March, and apparently contained Ready or Not builds for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Ready or Not was released into Early Access in December 2021 and launched into 1.0 in December 2023. Its original publisher, Team17, dropped the game after it gained controversy for promising a school shooting mission. Its Steam page indicates that Void Interactive moved forward with self-publishing after losing Team17's support.

Ready or Not has garnered mostly positive reviews, sitting at a 79% on Metacritic. However, the game has gotten some criticism lately for the 1.0 version's gameplay changes and bugs.

Telltale Games' long-in-the-works The Wolf Among Us 2 has resurfaced with new screenshots following last year's delay, with the studio saying it's "been heads down" on the project.

The Wolf Among Us 2 - again set in the world of Bill Willingham's Fables comics - was originally announced back in 2017, but development halted when Telltale Games shut its doors the following year. That appeared to be the end for the sequel, until 2019 brought the news Telltale was being resurrected under new management - a surprise development that would eventually see The Wolf Among Us 2 being re-announced.

Our first proper look at the sequel arrived in the form of a trailer in 2022, but as its 2023 release date drew near, Telltale announced it was delaying the game in order to avoid burnout and crunch. Unfortunately, it looked like the project might have run aground a second time last October when reports suggested development had been heavily impacted by Telltale layoffs.

  11. ark-animated-dodo.jpg?width=1920&height=

If you've been eager to watch the animated Ark: Survival Evolved TV series, but your attempts have so far been thwarted by your failure to live in the US or Canada, there's some good news: it's now officially available in 11 other countries, including the UK, via Paramount+.

Ark: The Animated Series follows the adventures of 21st century palaeontologist Helena Walker after she finds herself resurrected on a mysterious island populated by prehistoric beasts. "She must learn to survive with new allies from throughout time," explains the official blurb, "while trying to uncover the true nature of their strange new world."

Ark's animated series has somehow managed to secure itself an impressive cast (presumably that 'somehow' is 'several extremely large buckets of money'), with the likes of Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, Jeffrey Wright, Elliot Page, Madeleine Madden, Karl Urban, and David Tennant all lending their vocal talents to proceedings. Vin Diesel is also on board - he's a big Ark fan, apparently - ahead of his appearance in the delayed Ark 2.

  12. Microsoft courted controversy earlier this year when it announced it would start bringing formerly Xbox console-exclusive titles to PlayStation, but if the current PSN charts are anything to go by, the strategy seems to be working.

A look at the PSN chart for the top 25 best-selling games on PlayStation 5 today revealed that seven of the 25 games were owned by Microsoft. Those games, unsurprisingly, include giants like Call of Duty and Minecraft, which have long been available on Sony platforms, but also two of the four games that Microsoft recently announced would make the jump to Sony's platforms: Grounded and Sea of Thieves. Grounded released earlier this week, while Sea of Thieves launches on PlayStation April 30.

The now-Microsoft-owned Overwatch 2, which recently released its 10th season, also made the cut. Rounding out Microsoft's heavy-hitters are Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, both of which are currently on sale and no doubt have seen a boost in interest thanks to Amazon Prime's Fallout TV show, which was just renewed for a second season.

That's compared to five games from Sony on the list, three of which--Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, and Helldivers 2--were not developed internally by a PlayStation-owned studio but instead published by Sony. The remaining two games are MLB The Show 24 and Destiny 2.

It's a little unclear what data points all go into calculating the top 25 best-seller list on PSN, and it's worth noting that the list changes depending on region and includes free-to-play titles. But even without concrete sales numbers, it's clear that Microsoft has become a major publisher on its competitor's platform.

Meanwhile, of Sony's games, only MLB The Show 24 and Destiny 2 are available on Xbox. MLB The Show 24 at time of writing hadn't cracked the top paid games list on the Xbox Store, but was among the top 20 most-played games, likely due to it being available on Xbox Game Pass. Destiny 2 is also among the top-played games on Xbox, and additionally appears towards the top of its most popular free-to-play games list. It's worth noting that only one Microsoft-owned game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, cracked PSN's March 2024 top 20 most-downloaded PS5 games list for the US and Canada.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said previously that he believes Xbox has already lost the console war against Sony. Recent sales estimates do back that up, suggesting that PS5 console sales are double that of the Xbox Series X|S. But if Microsoft can still make money by selling its games directly to PlayStation players, without needing them to buy an Xbox, it seems Microsoft can have its cake and eat it too.

When asked if more more Microsoft-owned games could come to the PS5 in the future, Spencer has said it's a possibility, telling The Verge, "I don't think we should as an industry ever rule out a game going to any other platform." He also said that Microsoft "wants to make sure that the return makes sense" when it comes to deciding to port titles to PlayStation and ensure that "the audience that's there has an appetite" for future Xbox releases.

Everyone has their favourite Mario Kart character to play as, but is there really a best option? A choice which will actually give you an edge to beat your rivals - to go just a little bit faster, or recover that little bit quicker?

Well, yes - some characters are mathmatically better than others. This is even true when you factor in the many different kart pieces - bodies, wheels and gliders - which you can mix and match to tweak your overall racer stat. So how do you pick?

According to a fasincating and beautifully put together piece of research by data scientist Antoine Mayerowitz, there are 703,560 different build options to choose from when you cater to all the different characters and kart pieces. But many of these are carbon copies of each other - so you can quickly whittle that down to just 25,704 distinct statistical options.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits, the gorgeous action-adventure from developer Ember Lab, looks to be making the leap to Xbox Series X/S, according to a newly spotted rating on the ESRB website.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits initially launched in 2021 amid various timed exclusivity agreements: Sony snapped it up for PS5 and PS4, while the Epic Games Store snagged exclusivity on PC. Kena released on Steam the following year, but an Xbox version is yet to be seen.

While no official announcement has been made by Ember Lab pointing to Kena's imminent arrival on Microsoft's platform, a newly discovered Xbox Series X/S classification by the US Entertainment Software Rating Board (thanks VGC) suggests Xbox owners wanting to sink into Kena's striking action shouldn't have too long to wait.

  17. The jail simulator game, Prison Architect 2, has been delayed once again. It was initially due out in March, then delayed to May. Now, it's coming out on September 3.

Despite being less than a month away from release, publisher Paradox Interactive has revealed that Prison Architect 2 has been running into problems. "Recently, we ran some stability tests on our latest version of the game and noticed unexpected issues occurring too often, especially on low specs configurations," Paradox Interactive explained in a statement to Eurogamer.

"Once we identified the issue, we started working on improving Prison Architect 2's memory usage to mitigate the situation. Overall, the work has been successful, and we have seen improvements on lower-spec machines and consoles."

The publisher went on to say that the memory fix gave way to new issues, such as crashes, especially on other PC configurations. Remedying them took time away from polishing the game up for release. While there is a certified version of the game on all platforms ready for launch, the publisher wants to launch it in the best state possible, hence the lengthy delay. It believes the new memory usage system will significantly improve player experience in the long run.

Paradox Interactive also issued a statement this week about another game it published, City Skylines II, addressing the game's rough state and rushed content plans.

The first Prison Architect game was released in 2015. In GameSpot's Prison Architect review, we said, "That’s the strange duality of Prison Architect. It provides a gripping, God’s-eye view of an element of society the Sims and Sim Cities of the gaming world dare not touch, but it is so beholden to the idea of being 'a game' that it threatens to neutralize the considerable number of strong, lasting aspects it possesses."

Prison Architect 2 will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

  18. Call of Duty: Mobile is apparently getting a new weapon that has the most cinematic weapon inspection animation we've ever seen. A leak has revealed a new mythic weapon for Call of Duty: Mobile that has players staring down the barrel of the gun to see a WW2 sequence that looks like it could be from Saving Private Ryan. Soldiers take cover and shield themselves from incoming machine gun fire on a battlefield complete with a tank and planes flying overhead.

A solider collapses on the battlefield and is helped up by another infantryman who says, "Don't worry, soldier, I'm with you every step of the way. We stand together. We fight for the generations to come." Again, all of this is happening on top of the weapon, an MG42.

Normally, Call of Duty weapon inspections amount to the player looking down the barrel and around the sides of their gun to get a better look at it. This is something entirely different and far more impressive.

The video was published by the Leakers On Duty account, but as of yet, this specific weapon animation doesn't appear to have been officially announced or detailed. The music from the sequel was apparently composed by none other than legendary composer Hans Zimmer.

The MG42 has various kill effects, too, including one that emits a small airplane that drops bombs. Check out the video below to get a closer look.

The Mythic MG42 is apparently a new gun for Call of Duty: Mobile, but whether or not it could show up in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, Warzone, or Modern Warfare III remains to be seen. Warzone Mobile, Warzone, and Modern Warfare III share store bundles, but Call of Duty: Mobile stands apart as its own thing.

  19. New images from The Wolf Among Us 2 have been released, confirming that Telltale Games is still working on the game, despite it being announced back in 2019.

On the Telltale community forums, the developer showed off four new screenshots from The Wolf Among Us 2, saying, "We’ve been quiet because we’ve been heads down, focusing on the promise of TWAU2. While we can't give a big update yet, here’s a little something for you: In-progress shots from the current build. The work continues. The Fabletown gang will be back."

One is a shot of a snowy city with a person standing on a rooftop, presumably the protagonist, Bigby Wolf. A second screenshot shows Bigby's face as he's seemingly talking to someone, and a third screenshot shows two character sitting down to have a conversation. The fourth screenshot simply shows Bigby walking around in a kitchen. You can see them, as rounded up by Geoff Keighley, below.

Telltale Games laid off developers back in October, and according to one former cinematic artist, the team working on The Wolf Among Us 2 was already "very small." Unfortunately, additional information about the game's progress couldn't be revealed as those who were laid off had to sign an NDA about it.

When the layoffs occurred, Telltale reiterated that the game was still being worked on and wasn't in any danger of being canceled. However, it was delayed out of 2023 with no updated release window at this time. It will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

  20. Capcom plans to scale back the infection rate of Dragonsplague in Dragon's Dogma 2 later this month. In addition, it will become more obvious when Pawns have fallen ill with the disease.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), the official Dragon's Dogma account revealed the upcoming update that focuses on Dragonsplague and Pawn behavior. "Glowing eyes will be more noticeable" to affected Pawns, the notes state, and players will now be able inspect them up close in the status screen. In addition, your Pawns should navigate cliffsides better, meaning they shouldn't tumble over them as much.

Dragonsplague has been a real plague for Dragon's Dogma 2 players. In fact, modders have even removed the disease from the action-RPG because it had become so bothersome. On top of that, players had come up with a rotten gimmick to warn others in Dragon's Dogma 2 about infected Pawns.

Dragon's Dogma 2 launched on March 22 and pretty quickly sold over 2.5 million copies. This is a feat that took the original game roughly two years to reach. Last month also saw an update for the action-RPG that finally let players start a new adventure. Previously, you couldn't begin again in the title.

It's not just Dragonsplague you should be aware of when deciding to venture out into the lands of Vermund and Battahl. We have you covered with 20 things to know before playing Dragon's Dogma 2. For more, check out GameSpot's Dragon's Dogma 2 review.

These are all of the changes on the way for Dragon's Dogma 2 as part of an update planned for later this month.

  21. Bungie has revealed when its new raid activity will go live in The Final Shape, and surprisingly, players will be able to dive into this event much sooner than anticipated. Here's a look at everything we know so far about the pinnacle PvE activity.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid release date and time

The Final Shape raid will officially launch on June 7, 2024 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. This is a lot earlier when compared to previous raid release dates, as Bungie typically launches one of these activities a full week and a half after an expansion is released. This date will give you just three days to get ready, a challenging prospect as The Final Shape will introduce the Prism subclass and a new faction to battle inside of the Traveler, the Dread.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid story details

Beyond the release date confirmation, Bungie is remaining tight-lipped on the story for its new raid. Raids usually introduce new threats to Destiny 2 in the aftermath of the campaign, and with The Final Shape teasing a final showdown with The Witness, it'll be interesting to see which antagonist is waiting for players at the end of the storyline to the Light and Darkness saga. There are several possibilities here, as this raid could take a page out of The Taken King expansion and pit players against The Witness in its ultimate form, similar to how Oryx was defeated in the Ascendant Realm when he was at the height of his power.

Xivu Arath is another wildcard who could be the star of this raid, as this dangerous loose thread has been lurking in the shadows ever since she was severed from her Throne World at the end of Season of the Witch. The road map for Destiny 2's episodes has also hinted at the Hive god of war appearing to menace players after The Final Shape.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid rewards

Bungie hasn't revealed the rewards available for this event yet, but if it follows the tradition of previous raids, you can expect exclusive weapons, armor, and Exotics from completing runs of the raid.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape raid - How to access

Like The Final Shape, the raid is a paid piece of content in Destiny 2. It can be accessed by purchasing the expansion.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Raid clan updates

There'll be several quality-of-life updates in The Final Shape, including improvements designed to reinvigorate the clan system in Destiny 2. Hawthorne will be receiving a vendor reputation track and Guardians can earn clan reputation by completing activities. Clan bounties are also getting overhauled, and there will be two new bounty types available--one for seasonal content and one for dungeons--and all clan bounties will also grant some clan reputation. For established teams, it could be worth paying a visit to Hawthorne to stack up on bounties before the venture into the raid.

Additionally, clan perks are being refreshed, and players will get discounted Raid Banners, Exotic engrams, and more each week when they do a fresh raid run.

Arrowhead has a steady line it needs to walk with Helldivers 2. The developer needs to ensure it both fixes any bugs (not Terminids, the glitchy kind) while also adding new featurs and content to the game in order to "stay relevant".

That's coming from Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt, who replied to a post on reddit (thanks IGN) saying the "competitiveness of this industry" meant the team had to ensure it did both to ensure the longevity of its game.

"Arrowhead is independently owned by people working at the studio and not swayed by shareholders in the traditional sense," the Helldivers 2 head said. "Of course we are in a great partnership with Sony where we agree on targets to hit etc. But there isn't a forcing function or requirement per se.

  24. Rabbit & Bear Studios has revealed it will work on a sequel to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes despite the death of its creator, Yoshitaka Murayama, back in February.

In a Reddit AMA thread, the developer confirmed that it is moving forward with a sequel, saying, "It is very sad that Murayama is not with us anymore, but we have discussed many things with him. [We] hope we will be able to carry on Murayama's legacy, and [we] always want to treasure his last work. [We] hope many people will support this game."

Murayama was also the scenario writer for Eiyuden Chronicle, and was battling an ongoing illness that ended with his death on February 6. He joined the games industry back in 1992 starting with Konami as a quality assurance tester. He eventually became producer, writer, and director of the first three games in the Suikoden series.

After leaving Konami, he started his own company called Blue Moon Studio in 2005 and released 10,000 Bullets. He also worked with Atlus on 2017's The Alliance Alive. He eventually joined Rabbit & Bear Studios to work on Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and its prequel, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, the latter of which was released in 2022.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes launches on April 23 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass when it's released.

  25. In the lead-up to The Final Shape, Bungie has detailed which parts of Into The Light will remain after June 3 and which parts of it will be going away.

First up, the new raid boss gauntlet Pantheon will be exiting Destiny 2 in June. This mode will be available starting April 30 and allows players to earn a variety of rare emblems that were previously only available in Contest Raids. Bungie says Pantheon was always intended to be a time-limited event, and this means players will only have a month to earn the Brave title and other rewards from this mode.

As previously mentioned by Bungie in a livestream, the limited-edition variants of the Brave arsenal weapons will only be available to earn until June 3. If you're looking to take on that challenge, here's how you can unlock The Mountaintop and The Recluse. Other parts of Into The Light you can wave goodbye to include the Hall of Champions social space, the Arcite 99-40 quests, armor chests, and weapon attunement.

Currently, players can attune these popular weapons and get "god rolls" on them with sought-after weapon perks. Once the expansion drops, it'll be much harder to get optimal rolls once this feature is no longer available.

"We really like the attunement experience so far, and while it won't be available right at the launch of The Final Shape, we're already working on bringing back a new attunement experience for Brave weapons sometime during Echoes," Bungie said.

The good news is that a lot of good stuff will still be available once The Final Shape launches. The Onslaught horde mode will be sticking around as a dedicated playlist, regular Brave Arsenal weapon rewards can still be earned from it, and Bungie has plans to introduce new ways to unlock the popular Parade Armor sets and the Superblack shader.

The reprised Exotic missions will also remain, and they'll be moved to the Legends tab. The Exotic weapons and catalyst rewards from these missions will also still be available to earn from their respective vendors.
