  1. Hello everyone! Treyarch has announced that this Friday (July 15, 2016), "around" 10 AM PST, a new game mode is coming to multiplayer: Fracture. David Vonderhaar says that first and foremost, this game mode has been in the making for a while now and they're ready to release it and get feedback. It'll be debuting in the Bonus playlist, but they want advice on what to tweak so it can go to the Core playlist. In designing the mode, they thought about how as in Safeguard and Hardpoint, two teams focusing on a single objective is fun. Take that and add it to Kill Confirmed, and you get Fracture. When a player dies, "he's going to drop what we call a 'core file,'" says Matt S (all of their core files, to be specific). However, as opposed to Kill Confirmed where the player collects one dropped object and that's the end of it, this time you can collect up to 10 and you must transport them to another location. That location is the Fracture Site, which changes roughly every minute and is random after the first one, totaling about four per game. When on the Fracture Site, Vonderhaar says it's "about a quarter second per core file, so you don't just get to run [over it] and then that's it. If you go there and you have a lot, it's very satisfying." David says "it's 25 score per event," though in the video it was 25 points to collect a core file and 50 points to deposit it. He says that at the time of release, the mode has "a ten minute timer and 60 fragments," stressing that the games are the normal Call of Duty time everyone is used to. While that's how the game mode works currently, they all urge the community to have their input heard on the future of the mode. One "knob that can be turned," so to speak, is the random or linear debate regarding the Fracture Site. In Hardpoint and Safeguard, you'll recall that the objectives are linear, in the sense that the order or path is the same every time. They wanted that "structure" to exist in those modes so you could set up your defenses, but they decided to go against that for this mode, which really adds to the fun and makes big point swings possible in games. One developer, ... , also points out that this mode "forces you to play with your team, ... because if you die and drop those core files, you've essentially given it to the other team." David speaks to that as well, saying he likes "the pack-hunting mentality. I like when two or three of us kind of roll together, pick up each others messes." If the community doesn't like that though, it can be changed. "Normally we go in and we're pretty confident, like 'this is the roles the mode should have,' 'this is the score limit,' 'this is how the spawning should work,' and we're confident here too, ... but there's the dialogue. I think the fun part now is after 8 months of Black Ops, you can actually have a conversation with people about, 'what are they experiencing...'" So, people, what are you experiencing? When the mode comes out on Friday, let's "have that conversation!" Don't forget, though, it's an ongoing dialogue! Your opinions will likely change, so post them as they do!

  2. The rumour mills are rife of a new Xbox potentially releasing in 2016, the slim version of the current model with a 2TB hard drive, more news is expected on this at E3 according to Polygon on top of that a new Xbox is potentially happening in 2017 with a higher GPU and running at a massive 6 teraflops - which wipes the floor with the current Xbox One at 1.3 teraflops and PS4 at 1.8 teraflops or the PS4 Neo at 4.1ish teraflops. The sources are also saying that Microsoft at looking at a deal with Oculus for the new consoles as well, in line with Microsofts plans to bring combine XBox/Windows ecosystem under "Project Helix" - when we know more we'll let you know

  3. Treyarch held multiple live streams in the build up to Black Ops 3, from the D.I.C.E. Conference last February (wow, it’s been that long?) to their Black Ops Fridays just before launch. Luckily for fans, they’re back at it again and in the last two months, they’ve had four! But don’t worry, because if you don’t feel like watching the many hours of streams, the summaries have arrived! (Note that I cut out details from livestream two because it was primarily about new Black Market items in the Awakening DLC). Before I start, though, something you should understand about me is that I didn’t have very fast internet when I was younger, and as such, I was never able to develop any skills. I am, as some would say, a late bloomer when it comes to Call of Duty (especially multiplayer). Due to this, as I’ve recently played Black Ops 3, I gained a new appreciation for multiplayer and the complexity behind it. Watching these live streams has been kind of fun, as they dive into a few things more intricately. Anyhow, if you have any questions regarding the live streams (or really anything), feel free to drop it in the comments and I’ll get back to you! 4. News going around the all the gaming news websites suggest that this years Call of Duty is set in the "far distant future" one very good source that broke this news was @shinobi602 and has been very accurate in the past with other Call of Duty titles, however Infinity Ward and Activision have yet to confirm this rumor. Infinity Ward have already had a taste of space combat in their previous title Call of Duty: Ghosts, @shinobi602 has went on to say that the title will be “full on sci-fi” What does this mean for Call of Duty fans around the world? I for one will be very disappointed as I was hoping for a trip back in time to World War 1 or 2, Let us hear your thoughts below in the comments.

  5. The Rumour mill has it that Sony is working on a 4K- version of the PS4 with increased GPU to give in game visuals a boost and will also help the PS VR Known as the "PS4.5" or "PS4K", developers told Kotaku that the device would feature an improved graphical processing unit (GPU), which would give in-game visuals a boost. The increased processing power would also let it display games at 4K resolution. It's worth taking this with a pinch of salt at the moment and it's unlikely to be released this year "if at all" with sources saying it's "exploratory" according to Kotaku. Sony certainly isn't talking about it publicly, although there's murmurs of hush hush meetings.
