Der Eisendrache - Main Easter Egg

The Easter Egg is possible on solo and co-op.

Step 1

  • Rack up the points by killing enough zombies then exit the cable car room using the door on the right.
  • Buy your way through the second gate leading into the courtyard and the first dragon location.
  • Take the stairs leading up and walk across the long bridge.
  • Buy your way through the door leading to a small bedroom.
  • Veer to the right and follow the path round.
  • Buy your way through the next expensive gate leading to the armory.
  • Walk straight forward to the end, turn left - the Power Switch is on the wall in front of you.
     

 

Step 2

Activate Pyramid

After turning on power, the doors which where previously inaccessible are now open.

These doors are in various places but one exists in the main courtyard below the dragon. Head through the door in to the chamber, you must now activate four blue squares on the ground. It takes about 5 seconds per square and then each one will turn blue (you need to stand on each square before it turns blue).

The pyramid will light up and zero gravity comes into effect.

Take note of the blue symbols on the walls as you will need these later.

 

Step 3

Build wrath of the ancients

You have four dragons around the map, which you need to feed zombies (exact same principle as hellhounds on MoTD).

First Dragon

The first dragon is located in the courtyard, this is how to reach the dragon from spawn.

  • Exit through the door on the right.
  • Head to castel courtyard and open the gate
  • Walk towards the top of the courtyard
  • The dragon is on the left.

 

 

Step 4

Upgrade the Bows

Hit the weathervene

Turn on the Death Ray then look towards the sky for the Weathervene. This wil face the direction the wind is blowing. You will need to hoot it with the bow to start the upgrade. Once you have done this, a purple item will drop - wait for the death ray to stop and then interact to accept the quest.

Light the fires

Throughout the map, you will find stacks of wood piled high in the distance (3 locations) - you need to shoot these with your bow.

  • The first bonfire is located up the mountainside to the right of Wundersphere in the Rocket Launch site.
  • The second bonfire is near the spawn location. Head through the right hand door, peer over the edge and you'll see the logs in the distance.
  • The final location is upstairs near the Death Ray machine. Go over to the balcony near the Clock Tower, peer over the edge to the right and you'll see the logs in the distance.

 

Wall running on symbols

If you haven't already activated the pyramid see step 2

Wall run over all the symbols (6 in total) - if you fall it will reset and you will need to do it again.

Fill the urns

The locations of these are as follows

  • In the small room to the left of the Death Ray.
  • Opposite teleporter in the Rocket Launch site.
  • In the Clock Tower room.

 

It takes about 8/10 zombies for each one, once you have filled them, no more zombies will be absorbed by the urns.

Once you have done this, you can immediately charge your bow and then go to the location of the nearest fire you previously started and shoot your bow to start and electric fire. It may be best to do this near the end of the round and all urns have been done (safety).

Pick up arrow and charge it.

You can now pick up the electric arrow at the weathervene, you'll see the blue on the ground - activate to give the bows to the weathervene, wait a moment and then pick up the new arrow. Go back to the pyramid and in the pyramid room, place it on the chest. Now charge the arrow by killing zombies - after about 15 kills the arrow changes into a brand new upgraded electric bow which you can pick up and use.

Shoot the red circle behind the clock

Enter the Clock Tower (near by the Death Machine) and ascend the stairs to the first level. Fire the bow at the red circle on the wall to reveal the back of the clock face.

Interact with the quest item to start the the fire upgrade

Shoot the fireball at rocket launch site

Go to the rocket launch site, you need to wait for the countdown start. Go into the teleport room, the doors will close, wait for them to reopen. Now run tothe rocket area, shoot the red fireball with the bow.

Shoot the ritual circles

Use the three launch pads to jump in the air so you can shoot the ritual circles.If you are successful it will turn the ritual circles red. Now you need to charge them by killing zombies next to the ritual circles.

Find the apothicon symbol

You now need to go back to the Clock Tower, interact with the clock to spin the cogs the apothicon symbol will appear.

Shoot the fireplace

You need to find the fireplace which has the same symbol, shoot an arrow at it then interact with it. To do this you need to stand in the ritual circle, fire and arrow at the glowing ball in the sky which will make a boulder. Now move to the boulder and shoot another arrow, with each one you will get closer to the fireplace (you'll only get 3 or 4 arrows to complete)

There are three possible locations for the fireplace:

  • In the research lab (control center)
  • Edwards room
  • In the room near the Dragon, just beyond Double Tap

 

Wolf Bow

Interact with the paintings with wolf symbol

You will need to find and interact with 4 paintings that have two dog head symbols on them, located in the following locations.

  • In the Clock Tower - the knight has a shield with two dogs heads.
  • Lower level of the Clock Tower - fire burning and a shield with a sword behind it.
  • Near the armoury, the knight is carrying a flag with two dogs heads.
  • Upstairs in the research lab - a knight has a shield with two dogs heads.


A noise will sound if you select a painting in the wrong order. It is trial and error. If you interact with all paintings in the right order a Wolf will howl. Now interact with the quest that drops behind the pyramind, at the bottom of the stairs leading into the knights tomb a symbol with two green wolves heads appears on the wall.

Hit the flag

Teleport to the Rocket Launch site, look to the rocket and turn right, on the mountainside you will see a flag shoot an arrow at it. A direct hit will drop a skull.

Charge the wolf

Take the skull and go back to the pyramid room. Insert the skull in the chest and wait for the wolf to appear, you need to follow the wolf around and wait for the wolf to stop and dig. You will need to kill zombies to charge the wolf, you may need to repeat this step as you follow the wolf around the map.

Fire arrow through the wall

The wolf will now sit down and look up at the wall. It would be prudent to note of this location as it's time for some wall running. As you pass by the crack in the wall (where the wolf is looking) fire an arrow through the gap. If done correctly a platform will appear, jump on it and interact with it - a skull will appear and give you the ice arrow.

Charge the arrow

The final step is to charge the arrow by placing it in the chest near the pyramid then killing zombies in close vicinity. Once the arrow is fully charged it becomes the upgraded wolf bow which you can pick up and use.

Shoot the wall symbol

Above the main gate to the courtyard you will see a symbol on the ceiling, shoot this symbol as you need to head  into the courtyard. Go up the stairs to the next level and enter the room just before the Wundersphere.

Shoot the symbol using the bow to drop the quest item which can be picked up just next to the Gobblegum machine.

Melee kill zombie

Head to the lower level of the Clock Tower, where you will find a purple symbol on the floor. All you need to do is melee kill a zombie with the box equipped, a purple urn will rise up out of the ground and into the air.

Find 6 skulls

You'll find the skulls in the following locations

  • Window ledge at the upper level of the Courtyard (near the research lab)
  • On the wall by Mule Kick.
  • On the ledge by Double Tap.
  • Inside Samantha's toy box.
  • In the sink in the teleporter room.
  • In the back of the truck in the Rocket Launch site.

 

Make crawlers

Return to the urn room and make 6 crawlers, one for each of the markers on the floor. The crawler souls are collected into the urn, once this has finished shoot the urn with your bow and listen carefully.

Collect orbs

Kill zombies in the bastion area which is located beside the death ray  and collect 6 purple items. Go to the knight statues in the armoury and place the purple orbs in each of the knights that correspond to the words that were spoken when you made the crawlers.

Each time you interact next to a knight, an apothicon symbol will appear remember to note of the three symbols.

Shoot the symbols

Using the bow, shoot the relevant symbols on the floor in the urn room. You must shoot the symbols which match the words that were said when making the crawlers, the symbols will float in the air and the arrows will appear.

Charge the arrow

The final step is to charge the arrow by placing it in the chest near the pyramid then killing zombies in close vicinity. Once the arrow is fully charged it becomes the upgraded wolf bow which you can pick up and use.

 

 

Step 5

Build the DG-4 (Gravity Spikes)

The DG-4 is a buildable weapon, three parts are required to build this at a workbench.

Part 1

Kill the pandzer soldat, he will drop the one of the parts. He usually appears around about rounds 10 to 12

Part 2

Head towards the bastion section of the map and activate the trap, once the trap has finished you will notice the part up in the air. Use the launch pads to get the part. If it disappears, you will need to repeat the process.

Part 3

Now head to the rocket test site, this part the hardest to obtain and wait around 2 minutes for the countdown timer to start. Once the countdown begins run up to the control panel under Pac a Punch, interact and the light will change from red to green.

Now go back to the teleporter area and wait for the lights to all turn green on the control panel. Interact with the controls and the first part for the DG-4 will appear inside the teleporter.

Step 6

Back to the future (step back in time)

The clock is now set to 9:35, head back down to the pyramid rooom and wall run around the pyramid room stepping on the blue symbols. One of the symbols will teleport you back in time. The screen goes black and white you'll now be  inside a small room. Pick up the Plunger item on the desk. Wait to be teleported back to the pyramid room again and head over to the teleporter.

Shoot the prongs on the teleporter with the bow until they turn gold.

You will now see sparking objects that have appeared around the map. Locate these items and shoot them with the bow, you can find them in the following locations.

  • Phone near Quick Revive
  • Behind the car on the driveway
  • Globe next to Samantha's room
  • Phone near Power Switch


Once you have shot the last object a loud noise will be heard, head back to the teleporter and it should be purple. Step inside (all players) and teleport back in time. The screen will turn black and white again. This time however, Dr Groph is putting something inside the safe whilst talking to Richtofen over the radio.

Pick up the blue fuse item in this room and note down the code that Groph enters.

 

Step 7

Death ray and rocket terminal

Spoiler

Now you need to head over to the Death Ray and place the blue fuse into the machine. You need to change it to "protect" mode by interacting with the switch on the side. The computer terminal beside the rocker and clock tower will now be activated, go to the computer terminal outside the Clock Tower and enter Groph's code into the computer.

The code changes every round "be warned" (i.e. don't end the round until the code has been entered correctly) you have been warned.

 

Step 8

Open safe

Spoiler

So the code has now been entered correctly the safe near the teleporter will be open. Head over there and collect the two cylinders and key card. put the two cylinders into the tesla machines which are located either side of the Death Machine, it will become super charged. Insert the key card into the computer terminal.

 

Step 9

Simon says

Spoiler

You need to now use the terminals to play a game of Simon Says.

Memorize the position of the four lower symbols, they will disappear and a symbol will appear on the top screen one after another. Each time a symbol appears, pick the matching location on the four lower screens. Don't make a mistake or you'll have to start all over again.

 

Step 10

Crash landing

You now need to go back to the Death Ray to activate it again. A lazer will shoot down the rocket as a result Dempsey's pod comes crashing down through the clock tower. Pick up the golden rod.

 

Step 11

Charging the keepers

Head to the knights tomb and Insert the vrill device into the slot just under the tomb and a ghostly figure will appear. Now go to the three ritual circles and stand inside killing zombies. You need tp use the right bow type for each of the ritual circles. Standing inside the ritual will tell you what upgraded bow must be used.

 

Step 12

Fight the boss

Head back down to the pyramid and you'll notice the top half is missing and the keepers spirit is standing in the middle.

Place four DG4's (gravity spikes) on the four blue squares you activated to activate the pyramid, you'll be teleported a dark room with 5 pillars around it and zombies (Skeleton ones) a keeper is in the room and you need to avoid his attacks. Run around the room whilst you wait for your DG4's to be recharged. Once charged place a DG4 underneath the boss (hid behind pillars to avoid the attacks).

Once the keepers spirit is trapped bright white light comes out of his chest, use the bows to inflict as much damage as you can, rinse and repeat until the keepers spirit is defeated..

 

Step 13

Summoning key

You have now been teleported back to the pyramid room, pick up the summoning key and head over to the clock tower to insert the summoning key - the end cutscene will now play.

Very rarely do they allow an easter egg to be done by one man alone.  We had Call of the Dead and that is the only one I completed as solo.  Mob of the Dead could be complete with two or more, never tried to do it solo.  They want people to work together.  It make the easter egg that much harder.  When was the last time you could play with randoms and do an easter egg.  I have done it only once, Origins.

but yeah holy shit that easter egg. the second I saw there were rockets on der eisendrache I knew it was going to end with the moon in pieces. also it's a shame there wasn't a nice zoom in on tank 1.0's body before it ended, really wanted to see his upgraded graphics in full glory.

Was watching via Noah's stream so I know and yeah Waffles stream crashed so he couldn't but yeah I agree perhaps we can mess with the video of it get a close up of him.

with the stream quality we'll probably just have to wait until a pc player grabs the model or someone on ps4 records in full detail

Noah's quality was pretty darn good but if you are waiting on a pc player then you got a month to wait then.

I'm getting confused as according to the cipher's though Richtofen should be around Samantha's age currently. Yet we have other stuff that contradicts that. Also YOU HAVE CHANGED NOOOOOOOOOTHING

I'm not so sure that's the case. If you remember from moon, there's a radio that plays the exact dialogue that occurs between richtofen and groph at the beginning of DE. obviously slightly changed bc Richtofen 2.0. so we know this map takes place before the original characters go to moon, be it in another time line or not. the ciphers could have simply been dated in the past.

the map is dated when richtofen is about to betray maxis and sam, so maxis and richtofen were partners for quite some time before hand. meaning they were both relatively old.

If we are in another timeline then our four never went to the moon too. Not entirely sure you understand that. Also considering that we have Tank right there in a chamber also implies this. Also this timelines Samantha and Richtofen should be the exact same age. Samantha though from the timeline of the moon is still a little girl while Richtofen is a full grown adult.

I understand that. It's still proof that he's not a child though. everything in this timeline was happening on par with the original characters, minus the fact that the origins crew intervened. can you link me to the alleged ciphers that say they're the same age? I just really doubt it bc it would'nt make sense for treyarc to say that

They are there man. It's from the Origins cutscene timeline.
